Alright! I'm back with another Rising Hope, like damn, I really struggled to write this chapter. Really sorry that it took so long to pump out this chapter but hopefully the next chapters are better. Anyways hope you enjoy this one.

Chapter 5

Memories of Resolve

Kiana jumped from building to building, scanning the city as she was looking for a certain purple haired girl. She wanted to find her, talk to her but no matter where she looked, she was nowhere to be found. That was until she felt Honkai Energy in the area. She stopped as she looked for it.

She then spotted a Chariot in the city, she didn't hear any alarms going off so it was a singular one but that didn't stop her from pursuing it. She arrived as she then stopped to see a boy standing in front of it. She then saw it again, that light, she got a good look at him as he was wearing a school uniform and had black hair with green highlights.

She then saw the Chariot was about to kill him as Kiana then grabbed her pistol and shot through it. The boy was stunned as he looked up to see Kiana over him as she then jabbed the Needle of the Void into its head as she jumped back, landing in between the two.

The Chariot disappeared as the needle dropped to the ground. She turned as her blue and orange eyes looked at the boy's emerald eyes. She still saw it, the multicolored flame. She was about to ask him but then he slowly fell to the ground.

"Hey!" Kiana shouted in concern as he hit the ground unconscious. Kiana sprinted towards him, she then got to his side as she rolled him over as she saw he was bleeding from his head and his uniform was roughed up.

She then tapped into her comms, "Auntie Theresa, I have two injured civilians at my location, please send a medic," she said in her comms.

She looked at the other boy who was just knocked unconscious, no great injuries on him. However the boy right next to her was hurt badly.

"Kiana, I'm sending medical support over where you are, how are the two civilians," she heard from the comms.

"One's just unconscious but the other took a beating from a Chariot,"

"Bronya, will be over there as fast as possible," she heard her friend over in the comms.

She looked at the boy again. She looked at his bandaged hands as she was curious as to why he had bandages on his hands. She touched his hand but it sparked something as she saw something. A girl with light purple hair and orange eyes as she floated above a burning city. But in the midst of the flames one person was walking towards the girl. And then a multicolored light appeared where the figure stood as Kiana felt a strange power coursing through the boy's veins.

She let go of his hands and she looked at the unconscious boy. She wondered who the boy was.

With Izuku's Mind

He floated aimlessly as he watched the black void consume him, his eyes devoid of light.

"Where am I…"

He wondered as he stared into the empty blackness. He felt his eyes slowly closing as he tried to stay awake.

"No…I can't…what about Dan? Is he…okay?"

He frowned in frustration," I couldn't…protect him…I wanted to…"

Izuku's eyes were about to close until he heard a gentle voice that called to him. It was so motherly that it almost felt familiar to him.

"Please live…Izuku…"

Hashbul Hospital

Izuku opened his eyes as he stared up at a white ceiling. He looked around as he saw a drawer with a vase filled with flowers in it.

"A…hospital…?" He said as he remembered the events that happened.

He widened his eyes in realization, "Dan!" He shot up but then felt extreme pain on his ribcage as he held it in pain.

"Graagh!" Izuku shouted.

"Hey calm down, you're gonna be okay," he heard a voice on his right. He turned to see the same white haired girl right next to him but this time instead of a flowing white hair, it was braided into twin tails going down her back.

Izuku wondered who she was but he would ask that later, "My friend is he-"

"He's fine, he only had a mild concussion, you however, have a broken left arm and ribcage," she explained to him.

Izuku sighed in relief as he flinched again in pain as he looked at his left arm to be in a cast.

"You should lay down, that way you can rest a bit," she said as she pointed to his midsection.

Izuku sighed as he looked at her but then something happened when he looked at her. For just a moment he saw the girl in his dreams from before. The girl with light purple hair and yellow eyes flashed when he looked at the girl. Then Izuku's head started to ring as he clenched his head.

"Hey, you all right?" She asked.

She was about to approach him when she saw it again. A red glow tracing his veins, she thought it was honkai energy infecting his body but it wasn't that, this was something different.

She then saw it die down as she looked at the boy again.

"Sorry, just had a headache for second there,"

She shook her head, "You should get some rest, I bet it's been a long day for you,"

She then headed to the door but before she left she turned to him, "Try not to get yourself into that situation again,"

She then left the room as Izuku was left wondering her name but he was relieved that Dan was alright. He looked around as it was a standard hospital room. He thought about what happened, the Chariot that attacked them appeared out of nowhere.

He thought about how the power he tried to call upon was not responding. He frowned, if he was in control, he could've saved Dan without him injuring himself. He gripped the sheets with his right hand as felt like he could have done more.

He then heard the door slide open as he looked up to see Henry and Faith at the door.

"Henry, Faith you guys-"

Before he could finish he was tackled into a hug as Faith hugged him tight but it cause Izuku's ribcage to sting as he flinched in pain, "Ow," he said.

Faith widened her eyes as she let him go, "Sorry, I was worried that the worst happened,"

"Are you okay Izuku?" Henry asked.

Izuku nodded, "I'm…fine…"

Henry frowned, "Son, if there is anything we can help you with-"

Izuku smiled at him, "It's okay, it just happened so fast but I'm glad Dan wasn't hurt to bad,"

Faith flicked his forehead, "Ow!" Izuku looked at Faith but widened his eyes as he saw her on the brink of tears.

"You could've died Izuku! Please take yourself into consideration too!" Faith said.

"I can't lose you too, okay?" Faith pleaded.

Izuku's heart was filled with guilt washing over him, looking at Faith worried about him. He didn't like that look on her face, the face of worries. He also saw a hint of concern in Henry as well. Izuku nodded as he was silently bashing himself.

Faith gently hugged him, "The doctors said that you'll be here for 2 days, so we'll visit," Faith said.

Izuku nodded as the girl let him go as they headed towards the door. "Get well Izuku, we told the school and Gabriel you'll be out for a couple of days." Izuku nodded as they left. Izuku was left in the room with nothing but his thoughts.

He frowned as he looked at his left arm, he didn't like it at all. He wanted to help Dan but when his powers didn't come to him. It felt like he was weak, useless. Like he couldn't do anything.

Izuku clenched his right fist as he was filled with anger, not towards anyone but himself.

He felt like he couldn't do nothing like he was a-

"Deku"

Izuku widened his eyes, "Deku…?" He felt like he heard that word before but he didn't know what it was. He sighed as he leaned up against the head of the bed.

He looked at the ceiling as he thought about the attack again.

"I…don't want to be useless like that again,"

Izuku looked at his scarred hand again as he scanned the scars. He wanted to help, so people around him won't get hurt. So people don't have to lose their lives to the Honkai. He remembered the people who lost their lives during the Honkai Invasion. He thought if he can save a little girl with his powers then that means that he can use this power to save those in need.

With Raiden Mei

Mei sighed as she sheathed her blade into her scabbard. She looked at Raven as she stowed her bow behind her. The area was filled with dissipating bodies of Honkai Beast.

"That's all of them, now time to see what this place is all about," Raven said.

Mei nodded as she walked on the destroyed street, looking at every building. She remembered the figurine that she had on her as she pulled it out. She scanned it as she was curious how old this figurine was.

Raven and Mei kept exploring the ruined city as they looked through every nook and cranny of the place. Mei walked around as she saw a playground as she examined as she saw the destroyed playset and the trees around them were withered away. She kept walking through the streets as she saw a rusted and ruined apartment complex.

She walked through the apartment, examining every room but it was all destroyed so there wasn't much to look at. But then she stumbled into one apartment room. The door was busted through as if someone forced their way in, she read the name of the apartment.

Midor-

Part of it was rusted off, covering the last part. Mei walked inside of the apartment as she examined the room, she looked at the kitchen, which was completely ruined. Pots and pans were scattered everywhere. She walked further inside to see the living room, a damaged couch with the roof caved in. She then walked into a hallway as she saw a room filled with a bunch of posters.

She couldn't make out what the posters were but she then saw some figurines on the ground that resembled the one she had. She pulled it out as she then placed it on a desk. The room was dark as the only light source was the window. She was about to leave when she stepped on a picture frame.

She looked down on the ground as she picked up the frame. It was a picture but not much could be made out as she only say a few faces like one boy that was wearing a mask with multiple limbs on him. And another girl with pink skin and pink hair. She then scanned over the picture as some parts were faded out so she couldn't make anything out but what she noticed was that this was a school photo, judging by the uniforms they wore.

"Raiden, did you find anything?" Raven called out.

"Nothing of the sorts," she then pulled the picture out of the frame as she folded it and stored it in a pouch.

"Looks like there's nothing here, let's go back to Hashbul," Raven said.

"Understood," Mei left the apartment room but as she left she felt a presence inside of the apartment as she turned quickly but only saw the sunlight casting down on the apartment but she saw a hint of green particles withering away.

She didn't pay too much mind of it as she then exited the apartment complex.

With Kiana

Kiana looked out of the Hyperion as she continued to think about what she saw from the boy she met early. The light inside of him was strange but also familiar to her. She couldn't put her finger on it as she sighed and continued down her room but before she could walk any further, she felt a buzz. She then pulled out her phone as a text message appeared.

She opened it as it was revealed that Theresa texted.

"Meet me in my office, I have something to discuss with you,"

Kiana raised her eyebrows as she headed towards Theresa's office. In her walk towards her office, Kiana couldn't stop thinking about the light, it was strange and yet…warm. And that boy, he was ready to fight that Honkai Beast for his friend, even if it meant dying in the process.

She then was now in front of Thersea's office. She opened the door as she saw her aunt's desk filled with papers and files and books. Kiana blinked as Theresa looked up at her and smiled, "Well there you are brat,"

Kiana sighed, "What did you call me here for," she placed her hands in her hoodie pockets as Theresa grabbed a paper as she read it.

"The person you saved is named Izuku Forthbright, going to school at Hashbul Private High School. He enrolled there four months ago and also started a job at a cafe same day,"

Kiana tilted her head, "Auntie, where are you getting at,"

Theresa looked at her, "This boy also was just registered as a citizen four months ago and what happened four months ago? The energy signals we detected at that time,"

Then it clicked in Kiana's head as she widened her eyes, "So you're saying…"

"Indeed, the boy you saved could be the one who released that energy spike four months ago which means he's a Herrscher who just awoke four months ago, the question is what is he doing here?"

Kiana thought about the light as it didn't feel like it was a power of Herrscher though, it was something very human like but beyond the concept of normal as well.

"So how do we approach this Auntie," Kiana asked.

Theresa smirked, "What are you talking about? We already approached this."

"Huh?"

"You saved his friend and his life, so that means you already established a connection, he probably would want to know who saved him, since you left without introducing yourself," Theresa crossed her arms as she smiled at her nephew.

Kiana scratched her head, "I don't know about this Auntie, what if he catches on?"

"Then we kidnap him to the Hyperion and make sure his Herrscher persona doesn't take over,"

Kiana sweatdropped as she looked at her Auntie with doubt.

"I have a bad feeling about this,"

With Mei

Raven and Mei arrived at Hashbul City as they were about to head into the cafe to check on their target. Mei couldn't figure out why that ruin was there, a city that was there for many years and yet no one paid any mind to it.

She looked at the cafe as she then looked at Raven who was looking at her, "What?" Mei asked.

"Are you wondering what to say to your target," Raven teased as she had a smirk etched on her face.

Mei sighed as she headed inside, Raven just shrugged as she followed her inside.

They then saw Faith talking to Gabriel as the two turned towards the two that just walked in.

"Oh Raiden and Raven, how was the patrol?" Faith asked

"Same old stuff, but we did stumble upon a ruined city,"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow as he looked at them, "A ruined city?

Raven nodded, "Yeah, you know anything about it?"

Faith on the other hand was staring into her cup as she had a solemn expression on her face. Mei noticed this as she then sat down next to her.

"Something on your mind, Faith?" She asked.

She looked up and turned to Mei, "Huh? Sorry what are we talking about again,"

"Raven and I stumbled upon a ruined city not too far from here," she said to her.

Faith thought about as it clicked in her head, "Oh that place, my grandpa knows more about that city than anyone,"

Gabriel nodded, "Well that is true, always see that old man venture off somewhere,"

Faith smiled as she grabbed her cup and drank all her coffee, "Yep, anyways if you want to know more, I can call my grandpa and he can tell you more about the city,"

"That would be helpful, thank you," Raven said.

She then heard a door open as a woman with her child walked in with a basket of fruits as the child was holding a small box that was wrapped.

Gabriel looked at the person as he pointed towards a small table filled with gifts and get well cards.

Mei tilted her head in confusion.

"What's the occasion Gabe?" Raven asked.

"Oh yeah you weren't here, Izuku and Dan got attacked by a Honkai Beast in the city," he explained.

Mei widened her eyes, she remained composed but this shocked her as she wasn't expecting that new. Last time she talked to him was on the phone when he was hanging out with Dan.

Faith gripped her cup as she had on her solemn expression again.

She sighed as she rubbed her head, "These honkai attacks have been happening so often, and Izuku keeps getting right in the middle of it,"

Gabriel looked at her as he placed a cup down, "Hey, he's going to be fine, the boy is tough after all, taking a hit from a Honkai Beast is no simple task for a ordinary human, "

Faith sat there as her expression was more grim. Mei watched her as she tightly held the cup.

"But if gets attacked again, something far worse could happen, he might even get infected with Honkai Energy," Faith displayed her worries as she looked at Gabriel.

It was silent in the cafe as the three stared at the distraught girl, "I'm sorry… I have to go," she abruptly got up and grabbed her bag as she left the cafe.

"She worries about Izuku a lot," Raven pointed out.

Gabriel nodded, "Well, you can't blame her, she lost her parents and her brother to an Honkai Invasion, Izuku being apart of her family made her heal somewhat,"

Mei stayed quiet as she sympathized with her fear, losing someone you love hurts like hell. Mei felt that way with a certain white-haired girl. That's why, did what she had to do. All for the sake of her living in the world.

With Izuku

Izuku sat on the hospital bed as he didn't know what to do. All he could do was lay there until he recovers. As soon as Faith and Henry left, he was left with all his thoughts alone. For some reason, being in a hospital room felt somewhat familiar with him, he didn't know why. It was like he was used to getting injured all the time which made him question again. What the hell did he do in the past that made him feel this way?

He shook his head; it was probably just nothing he deduced. But there was another feeling haunting him.

Izuku sighed as he laid on the bed, thinking about what happened. Izuku clenched his fist as he didn't like this feeling inside his heart. He couldn't stop thinking about what else might have happened if that girl didn't come in time. Dan would've died in the process, he too would've died.

Izuku didn't want to be useless when he was in danger. Honkai Beasts appear out of nowhere and people get hurt every time even lose their lives. Izuku felt it again, the burning flame inside. The flame symbolizes the power he has inside and yet…he doesn't know how to use it.

Izuku slowly sat up as he looked at his scarred hand, in the past he used this power. But he didn't know how he used it, whether it was to kill or protect. None of it mattered right now, the feeling was both for him.

To win and save. To Save and win

Izuku then felt his head start to hurt as he clenched it as he had a memory again. The memory was once again hazy, but one thing was clear. He was in a classroom in that memory, it was loud and chaotic as he saw many people around him, about 19 people. He saw a girl with brown short hair in front of him, saying something to him but he couldn't make it out.

Many people surrounded him as they smiled at him and laughed, the classroom was chaotic and loud but… for some reason this memory made him feel at home. It was warm when he thought of the people surrounding him. The classroom number, Class 1-A.

Izuku sat there as he felt something wet on his cheek as he touched it. It was tears, he didn't know why he was crying all of a sudden. The feeling of missing something was etched into his heart. He had no idea what this feeling was or why it appeared when the memory appeared.

Izuku wiped his tears as he heard one word from that memory from the girl in front of him.

"Deku,"

That word again…what did it mean? The word kept appearing ever so slightly, as if it was always a part of him. Izuku sighed as he clenched his blanket. These memories kept frustrating him over and over. He then heard a knock on his door as he looked up. He panicked as he didn't want anyone to see him in tears for no reason as he rubbed his eyes to make sure they were dry.

The door opened as he looked at who opened the door and to his shock, it was the girl that saved him, with white hair and brilliant blue eyes.

She walked as she had an awkward smile as she waved at him.

"Hi, um sorry to come in without any notice," she said.

Izuku shook his head, "Oh um no not all! I never got your name and I wanted to thank you properly for saving my friend…and my life as well," he said.

She nodded, "Right sorry I left without introducing myself,"

"Kiana Kaslana," she smiled.

"Izuku Forthbright," he introduced himself.

She nodded as the room was now filled with silence as the two didn't know what else to say. Kiana was here because Theresa wanted answers and that Kiana already created a perfect opportunity to get close to him to know more about him and possibly get to the bottom of that energy signal four months ago.

"So, Kaslana-san, what brings you here?" he asked.

She looked up as she tried to think of something as she was now in the spotlight. She didn't think this through as she tried to come up with an answer.

Izuku noticed that she was freaking out as he was confused on why.

"Uhhhh well, I wanted to know…" Kiana thought about her answer as she remembered something. When the Honkai beast started to attack, she noticed that Izuku was prepared to attack it with something.

"Why were you prepared to fight the Honkai Beast?" She asked.

Now it was Izuku's turn to freak out as he couldn't really tell her that he has powers but he doesn't know how to use them. He also thought if he said that to her she would think he was crazy.

"Uhhh…well I guess…I just couldn't watch my friend get killed by it so I um was prepared to jump it,"

Kiana looked at him confusingly, "That's some guts but also pretty stupid to do," she outright said as it felt like a jab into Izuku as he felt the impact of her words.

Izuku scratched his head, "Haha… yeah I already got scolded by my guardian for that,"

Kiana just looked at him as she too would get scolded by Mei for being reckless. She missed those days but while she was reminiscing the Herrscher inside her was observing Izuku, the light inside of him. She was drawn by it, she wondered what it was and why it was so familiar.

The Herrscher of the Void was interested in the boy but for now she only watched and observed him.

"Yeah, I feel you, I used to get scolded by a friend of mine for being reckless as well," Kiana related.

She looked at him as she also had a question for him, ever since she first met him.

"By the way, what was that Red glowing streak on your hands," she asked.

Izuku looked at her as she didn't know what she was talking about, "Huh?"

"Yeah, your veins started to glow red for some reason, are you perhaps…"

Izuku looked at her with interest as he thought she knew what this was, he sure as hell didn't know. If Kiana knew then maybe she could also help him gain his memories back.

"Infected with Honkai Energy," she said seriously.

Izuku looked at his hands, "I… don't know… I haven't felt any of the side effects,"

"Here let me check for you," she said as she walked up to Izuku as she grabbed his hand again.

Izuku blushed a bit at the sudden movement but he relaxed a bit as Kiana tried to feel if there was any Honkai Energy in him. But all she saw was a flame inside his chest. One that was like a bright torch, she couldn't figure out what it was. It was far from a Herrscher Core but it felt sentient.

She then let go of his hand, "That strange, I don't feel anything,"

Izuku sighed as he was now back to square one, not knowing anything about his past.

Kiana noticed his down expression, "You seem disappointed, I think it's good that you don't have Honkai Energy inside you,"

Izuku shook his head, "It's… not that it's just if you knew what was happening to my body then maybe I'd find answers,"

"Answers?" Kiana tilted her head in confusion.

"Yeah, well you see I have amnesia and during the past four months here I've been trying to figure out who I am," he explained to her.

She widened her eyes as she didn't expect that from him, he didn't even know who he was? That came as a shock to Kiana. A boy who doesn't know who he is and strangely releases an energy signal that is compared to a Herrscher energy signal.

Izuku shook his head, "Sorry, I shouldn't have shared that with since that's the last thing you'd probably want to here,"

Kiana shook her head, "Oh no that's fine, it's just I would've initially thought you'd have amnesia from that hit you took from the Honkai Beast," she said.

Izuku, "Luckily I didn't forget everything or that would've been a pain,"

Kiana smacked him on the shoulder, "Well you're one tough person that's for sure," she laughed.

Izuku flinched in pain as he felt a sting on his shoulder which Kiana noticed, "Oh… my bad,"

Kiana checked the time as she got up, "Well I have to head out, it was nice chatting with you," she said.

Izuku nodded, "Thank you again for saving me and my friend,"

She nodded as she headed for the door but she stopped. She thought about what he said. His amnesia, trying to figure out who he was. She too was like that, trying to find out who she was, whether she was K-423 or Kiana Kaslana. She was stuck between the lines of the two names.

"Hey," she called out.

Izuku looked at her as she turned to him, "If you need help trying to find yourself, you can always come to the Hyperion for help,"

Izuku looked at her in confusion, "The Hyperion?"

She nodded as she headed out the door. Izuku thought about her offer. "the Hyperion… a place full of Valkyries,"

Izuku found that offer…intriguing.

Schicksal HQ

Durandal was heading into Otto's office as she still had worries about their captive, once he awoke. He would cause more damage than previous. Not only that but the power he displayed was nothing but terrifying.

She feared whatever that man did was only a fraction of what he could actually do.

She was now at the door of his office as she knocked on it. "Overseer? May I come in?"

"Durandal! Perfect, come in. I have something to show you,"

She opened the door as she saw many files on the floor and his desk as Otto had a project on as he looked at it.

"Overseer?"

The projection showed a body scan of Shigaraki as he pointed out several points on his body but mainly his heart.

"This man possesses a power that is far from any Honkai Energy and yet the energy within him is synergizing with this core inside his heart, this core has become a pinnacle of his power," Otto scrambled through a few documents.

"But that power he displayed was not Honkai Energy, the way he decayed everything had no hint of Honkai Energy except for that black projectile he launched, the power he used first was a physical ability that he had!" Otto determined as he smiled with an idea.

Durandal was shocked to see the Overseer this enthusiastic as she watched him flip through a book.

"Not only that but this very Herrscher is from 200 years ago," he pointed out.

"200 years ago?" Durandal questioned.

He looked at her with excitement, "The age where physical abilities were the norm, Quirks,"
