A small team of healers was moving around their bedroom, checking on Hermione and the little towheaded girl in her arms. Lyra Eleanor Malfoy-Nott was absolute perfection and the spitting image of her older brother.
Coming in at just over three kilograms, the tiny girl was absolute perfection and the apple of her fathers' eyes.
Wrapped in the soft pink quilt, Lyra slept peacefully in Draco's arms while Theo towered over the healers as they signed the non-disclosure agreements he'd drawn up. Hermione could feel his magic twisting and billowing out to protect them through her ring, and Hermione found an odd comfort in him threatening others for her.
After Lyra's speedy entrance, Hermione was shocked by how fast her labour had been. Draco had jumped into action and caught Lyra just as she made her grand entrance into the world. After that, Theo had insisted that St. Mungo's security was lacking, and instead of allowing for the new mother and baby to be transferred, he'd brought his team of healers to their home.
Hermione had since been poked and prodded more than she ever had with Rose, and her nerves had reached their limit.
Lyra's soft cries from Draco's arms caught her attention, and Hermione could feel her breasts aching with the need to feed her baby. Draco rocked the baby, cooing at her when an elf appeared ready to take her.
"Draco," Hermione called as the elf reached up to take Lyra to her. "Draco, I need to feed her."
The silver eyes met her, and the look on his face melted her. She recalled how he'd told her that Astoria had been little more than an incubator for Scorpius. Hermione knew it was uncommon to be involved in childrearing in the pureblood society. The responsibility fell to the house elves so the wives could return to hosting charity events and socialising.
"Are you sure? Mipsy can take her for a while if you want to rest," Draco's offer pulled at her heart, but Hermione shook her head and held out her arms.
"No, I don't want to start using a bottle with her just yet."
Draco's entire face lit up as he moved to sit on the side of their bed, laying Lyra in Hermione's arms. Draco was a natural, helping adjust her hold and the baby to latch. Hermione had known that he was a fantastic father, but the amount of love and attentiveness he poured onto her was something that Hermione hadn't been expecting.
With Lyra happily eating at her mother's breast, Hermione finally allowed herself to enjoy the moment of peace with her wizards. While Draco had been helping her, Theo had dismissed the healers and was now on her other side, admiring the little girl that was part her and part Draco.
The heat radiating from him had Hermione squirming on the bed, though she knew that even with magic, she'd have to wait at least a few weeks before they could engage in their normal activities again.
"You must be tired," Theo said, his eyes trailing to her face.
"A bit, I suppose," Hermione whispered, patting Lyra on the back to soothe the baby. "I'll sleep after she's done, though."
"I just -" Theo stopped, his eyes on Lyra and Hermione. "I want to ensure you're taken care of, too."
On her other side, she could hear Draco chuckling at the uncharacteristic softness that Theo was showing. Theo's hard blue eyes turned on Draco before he gave his full, undivided attention back to Hermione.
"Well, if you insist." Hermione watched as Theo cleared his throat, looking away from Hermione. His hand drifted toward his pocket before he paused in his movement. "There was another matter that I needed to discuss with the two of you."
Draco and Hermione shared a look, silently communicating that neither of them knew what Theo was about to say. Surely he wasn't upset that Lyra wasn't biologically his, Hermione thought, but when she turned her attention back on Theo, the way he was gazing down at the baby in her arms showed nothing of jealousy.
When Theo didn't continue, Draco cleared his throat to bring the brunette's attention back to them.
"Right, well, I've been thinking." Theo reached into his pocket, and when he pulled his hand out, he was holding a black velvet box. "I'd like Lyra to be the Nott heiress. To do that, the three of us must be married."
Speechless, Hermione and Draco exchanged another look before looking back at Theo. Inside the box was a masculine version of the black diamond ring on her finger. The onyx ring had a series of black diamonds that looked exactly like something that Draco would wear.
Reaching over, Theo didn't wait for an answer, slipping the ring onto Draco's finger. A pulse of magic pulled at her chest as the bond with Draco settled into the one already established between her and Theo.
"It took me a while to find this, but just like with Hermione's, I used my blood to bind it to me." Hermione shuddered at the declaration, knowing that Theo meant every word. "I love you both, and I'm going to spend the rest of my days doing everything I can to keep you."
"Theo…" Hermione trailed off, but Theo pressing his lips to hers cut off anything else she would say. When he pulled away from her, he grabbed the back of Draco's neck and pulled the blonde in for his kiss.
"I love you," she could hear Draco murmuring against Theo's mouth, and Hermione couldn't keep her tears at bay any longer.
"And I you," Theo promised the other man. "Until your last breath, you belong to me."
His gaze turned to Hermione, and she knew this was it for her. After everything that had happened over the last two years, every step and every decision had brought her to this moment with them.
And there wasn't a thing she would change about it, no matter how complicated things were.
