(The Gentleman's Return)

*April 9th, 1941*

*1:31 pm*

*Downtown Wichita, Kansas*

Anya and her cousins were shopping at the department store for new clothes as they had spent quite some time looking at each clothing with great focus.

"It was quite a good idea to go out shopping since it gives us more time to bond and maybe we could grab a bite to eat afterwards if we have time" Katie had spoken to her cousins as she picked up a few more clothes to buy as she was met with nods of agreement.

"Maybe we could get burgers across the street once we're done shopping and maybe we could get lunch on the house since I do know someone there as well" Daisy had also spoken to her cousins as her words made everyone's face get filled with excitement due to the possible free meal.

"Oh yeah, I'm gonna try this new dress out in the changing room so you can go out and pay without me, okay?" Anya had advised her cousins as she was met with nods of agreement as they were ready to take off.

"Sounds like a plan and if any pervs creep up on you then you better punch them in the face, okay?" Daisy had advised her cousins as her words caused Anya and everyone else to chuckle.

"Don't worry, I'll be safe but I'll meet you and everyone else across the street, okay?" Anya had spoken back to Daisy with a smile on her face as she was met with a nod of agreement from Daisy.

"Sounds good, We'll see you then!" Daisy had spoken back to her cousin as she and her cousins proceeded to head towards the register as this was being watched by Anya.

"Okay, Time to try out this new dress!" Anya had spoken to herself as she power walked over to the dressing room before stopping in her tracks due to her seeing a rather familiar face.

"That guy? He's the same man I saw in the airport just a few days ago, I thought he went to San Francisco to become an artist" Anya had quietly spoken to herself as she suddenly saw the man approaching her as she braced herself for the encounter.

"Hello there, You're that girl from the airport right? How's your trip been going for you so far?" The Gentleman had asked Anya with a smile on his face as he tipped his hat in respect as he waited for a response.

"Oh, It's you! I've been doing quite well but I thought you went to San Francisco so what happened?" Anya had asked the man in a tone of curiosity as she waited for a response.

"Oh that, The school is closed for spring break so I couldn't really pursue my passion so I decided to come to Kansas for a short time and please excuse my manners since I never told you my name a few days ago but my name is Patrick!" Patrick had introduced himself to Anya as he extended his hand for a handshake.

"Nice name, My name is Anya Romanov so it's a pleasure in knowing your name" Anya had responded back as the pair shook hands.

"So, what brings you to this shopping department? Aiming to become best dressed for the yearbooks, eh?" Patrick had asked Anya as he was met with her shaking her head as she began to speak.

"Nope, Just want to look nice and all but I am with my cousins and they're across the street at that burger place right over there" Anya had spoken back as he tilted her head to the direction of the burger place in order to give Patrick a clear understanding of what she was talking about.

"Nice, Have you been talking to Charlotte recently? I believe your friend misses you quite a lot but It is hard to find a good telephone in this area that can go all the way to New York but it's pretty worth it in the end" Patrick had asked Anya as he chuckled at the last part of his sentence as he was met with the girl shaking her head in which made Patrick slightly disappointed.

"Unfortunately not since I've been busy with my cousins and also one of them lives in a farm area so telephones are worthless but I'm sure she's doing good" Anya had spoken back to Patrick as she saw the man nod his head in understandment.

"I see, but I guess I'll be taking my leave since I don't wanna hold you any longer but I'm sure we'll meet again in the future…" Patrick had spoken back to Anya as he tipped his hat towards her as he began to turn his direction to leave the store.

"Goodbye! It was nice chatting with you! Hope that you have a good day!" Anya had spoken back to Patrick as she saw the man waving his hand in response as he eventually went to the counter to pay for his hat.

"How strange? He looks familiar, I swore I've seen him in pictures somewhere…" Anya had thought to herself as she quickly went inside of the dressing room to try out her outfits while Patrick was paying for his hat.

"Someday I'll be brave enough to speak to my daughter Charlotte and my wife…" Patrick had thought to himself as he had a smile on his face.

*Burger Place*

*1:50pm*

Catherine and her cousins were sitting in the diner as they waited for Anya as they were talking amongst themselves.

"I wonder what's taking Anya so long? I hope the lines aren't too long" Catherine had spoken to her cousins as she was met with nods of agreement.

"It might just be because I did see a pretty jam-packed line before leaving but we should expect Anya any moment now" Daisy had added on to the conversation as the sounds of the door opened in which is revealed to be Anya with her shopping bags.

"Sorry guys, I had some things to take care of but I'm finally here…" Anya had spoken to her cousins as she had a smile on her face which made her cousins smile back as well.

"Wonderful! Let's get ready to eat lunch together" Katie had spoken to her cousins in a tone of excitement as the gang was ready to spend the next part of their day eating their lunches.

"I guess I should hold off in telling my cousins about my encounter but I'll find out who Patrick is later on but for now, Let's spend some time and company with the people I love and cherish" Anya had thought to herself as she let out a warm smile as she began to chuckle.

"That sounds wonderful! Let's all cherish this wonderful moment!" Anya had finally spoken back as she and her cousins proceeded to enjoy their company for the reminder of the day.
