Hello again! Another new story here!
It's Chaotic time!
I love the show! It's funny, has great character designs, specifically the game characters, and I like the story. Although, the story could use a couple of tweaks.
This story will contain: adventure, romance, magic, transformations, harem, and many other things!
This will probably not be my only Chaotic story!
Disclaimer: I do not own Chaotic. Chaotic is owned by 4Kids Entertainment and Epic Store Media.
Now, let's begin our story!
Welcome to Chaotic Part 1
It was a nice sunny late spring afternoon in the city of Fliaton, Nevada. Birds were singing, and bees were buzzing to and fro from flowers.
Sitting at a small round table in Fliaton Park were two teenagers, both with open laptops between them. One was a 19-year-old boy with pale skin, gray eyes, black hair, and, when standing, stood 6 foot 5 inches tall. He had on a black leather jacket with ripped shoulders, black shorts, black shoes, black socks, and a black shirt with a large white skull on it.
This was Tanner Hartwood.
The other teenager was a 17-year-old boy who, when standing, stood 6 feet 1 inches tall and had lightly tanned skin, bright blue eyes, and blondish brown hair. He was wearing white socks, grey shorts, gray sneakers with the logo PUMA on the side, a blue shirt with a wolf on it, and a leather necklace with a fox and cat made of some sort of purple stone or gem as the centerpiece.
This was Gavin Woodring.
Gavin hummed to himself as he looked at his screen. On it was a playing card battle mat that was blue and round like an arena and had a circular emblem in the top left corner of the screen. The emblem consisted of a red background with a silver rim, and had the word "Chaotic" in the middle with white lettering on a black background, surrounded on the top and bottom by four black half arches. The "o" in the word was made of the four half arches, but it also had a white dot in the center of it.
Currently, a card sat to the middle-right of the arena, with the word "Location" above it in red. Said card had the words "UnderWorld City" on it in white text, with the design replacing the "o" of "Chaotic" on the right in white, signifying it was a super rare card. The border of the card was light green, showing it was a Location card. The image on it showed a large horned figure with raised arms looking out over a large city that had large geysers of flames on the sides and statues and torches scattered throughout the city, which was located underground.

Quote-Not known for his creativity, Chaor nevertheless won the capitol-naming contest for which he was also the judge.
"I cast Fortissimo on Takanom!" Tanner said as he pressed a key on his computer. "Prepare to be defeated!" A card then popped up on screen, with the word "Fortissimo" on it in white letters against a grey background and the image of multiple beams of white and yellow light with a swirl of light at the top on it, as well as a gray heptagon ring that represented Mugic on the left of it and the design replacing the "o" of "Chaotic" on the right in white, showing it was a super rare Mugic card.

The card then spun around several times as several notes played, increasing in volume, before it shrunk down and shot into another card.
This card had the word "Takinom" on it in white letters against a light red background, with the symbol showing it was a super rare creature card sitting to the right of it. A reddish white symbol consisting of a round circle with a red dot in the center of it and a small curve running underneath it that looked like a claw sat to the left of the word, showing that this card was an Underworld card. The being portrayed on the card was a 6 foot 10 inch tall, curvy yet sleek female humanoid with large, red bat-like wings on her back she was using to fly through the air. She had yellow skin with red markings in the shape of arcs on her hands, forearms, legs, and neck, exposed cheek bones, brown dragon eyes, long auburn hair with five long red horns running down the back of her head in a row, sharp clawed four-fingered hands that were slightly draconic, and draconic feet that ended in three toes tipped with sharp black claws. She was wearing a silver breastplate with matching shoulder spaulders, silver gauntlets on her wrists, a light red singlet that ended at her legs, and light red knee guards.

The card began to shimmer a bit, before it grew several times larger on the field, while its stats increased by 5, bringing up Takinom's current energy of 5 to 10.
"Heh, there's no way you can get out of this one man," Tanner said with a large grin, before he gained a confused look as Gavin started to chuckle. 'What's so funny? You're about to lose."
"Oh, that's what you think," Gavin replied as the words "Your turn" appeared on his screen. "I now have Vinta use the 'Thunder Shout' attack on Takinom."
As he spoke, he tapped on a card with the words "Thunder Shout" on it in white letters against a black background and the image of multiple light blue rings emanating from a glowing yellow four-winged figure in a rocky tunnel, as well as a gray circle with the black number "2" in it on the left of the words and the design replacing the "o" of "Chaotic" on the right in dark black with white behind it, showing it was a common attack card.

The card then spun around several times, before it shrunk down and shot into another card.
Said card had the word "Vinta" on it in white letters against a sandy yellow background, with the weird symbol replacing the "o" in "Chaotic" in green sitting to the right of it, showing it was a common creature card. A dark yellow symbol consisting of two pointy claws attached to a spike-covered shaft at each end sat to the left of the word, showing that this card was a Mipedian card. The being portrayed on the card was an anthro 6 foot tall male lizard with reddish skin, short spikes on the sides of his head, above his eyes, and on his cheeks, yellow eyes, a long tail, four sharp-clawed fingers on each of his two hands, and four sharp-clawed toes on his two feet. He was wearing white wrappings around his feet, blue round armor on his knees, a white loincloth that hung over his crotch to his knees and was held on by some gold claw-shaped links on his sides, gold pauldrons with round blue gems set at equal intervals on his wrists, and blue shoulder spaulders that met together at his back, had some white straps connecting to each other on his front, and had gold rims and gold lines on them.

Quote-Many trespassers have felt the breath of Vinta as they breached the Mipedim Oasis. But they have felt it too late.
"Heh, like that'll do anything to my Takinom," Tanner replied with a laugh as Vinta's card shimmered for several seconds, before multiple blue soundwaves flew out of the card and into the large Takinom card. Then, he gained a confused look that soon turned into shock as he watched her energy go from 10 to 0. "Wait, what?!"He exclaimed as he got a "You lose" message on his screen, while the Chaotic symbol and title flashed on Gavin's, showing he had won. "How did you take her down?!"
"Easy. Vinta has Air affiliation. So he was able to use 'Thunder Shout' to take your Takinom down," Gavin explained as he tapped on the title, bringing up the summary of the battle.
"Oh," Tanner said with surprise. "I didn't know Vinta even had Air affiliation."
"That's why you shouldn't hesitate to try different tribes," Gavin replied.
"Alright, maybe I will," Tanner said as he picked up his computer and closed it. "Thanks for the advice. See ya."
"Later man," Gavin said to him as he left, before he heard his computer beep, prompting him to look back at it with curiosity. There, on his screen, were the words "One new Chaotic Message."
"Chaotic Mail?" He said with surprise. "Huh, I wonder what this is about?" He continued as he clicked on the words, opening up his Chaotic inbox. He then clicked on the new message, and gained a confused look. "What in the world?"
The email had one thing in it. A string of letters and numbers. "What's the purpose of this?" he said as he looked at them, with them being "P3K8MWE."
He sat there for several more minutes, trying to think of what it could mean, but soon stopped, deciding that he needed to go home and eat before he thought about this anymore.
That night…
"Okay, so why was I sent this?" he said as he looked at the email again, having just finished eating dinner in his apartment. "Is it a secret code? Hints to a new set of cards being released? What does it mean?"
As he continued to stare at the email, he eventually noticed some tiny print in the bottom right of the email. "What does that say?" he said as he looked at the tiny print, highlighting it with his cursor. "'Use'…what?" He continued, being unable to make out the second word. "Maybe if I put this on Word I can enlarge it," he said as he copied the text before opening a new document in Microsoft Word.
When he pasted the text onto the document and proceeded to increase the text size, he saw that the message read "Use scanner." "I need to use my scanner?" He said with confusion. "Do they mean my Code Scanner?" He continued as he pulled out his code scanner, which was a device all Chaotic players had, as it could hold a player's online deck information, as well as scan cards and upload them to the online deck as well.
His code scanner, like other code scanners, was rectangular in shape, and was completely touch screen, except for a small directional keypad at the middle and bottom of the screen. Above the screen was the Chaotic title, which sat on a small button. Currently on the screen was the Chaotic title, showing it was locked. The rest of the code scanner was light purple, while the directional keypad was light green in color, with a light purple round button in the center of the keypad.
It was the newest model, which he had won in a raffle he had entered a few months ago, and had video chat, a flashlight, camera, and music player. He really wasn't sure what made it different from the other models, but he figured he'd find out eventually.
He then pressed the round button, turning on the screen, and pressed on the "Code Reader" app, pulling up a keyboard on screen. "I wonder what's going to happen when I put this in," he said as he started to type the code in. "Maybe I'll get some new cards?"
Once he had typed the code into his scanner, he pressed "Enter," and waited to see what would happen. The code immediately began to waver, before it disappeared, and the screen went black.
Then, something strange started to happen.
"What the heck?!" he exclaimed as a light blue hole flew out of the scanner into the air before him, and grew very wide, before he felt himself start to get sucked in. "What's going onnNNNN!" He cried as he was sucked into the hole before he could even attempt to get away, the hole closing behind him.
He then found himself flying through light blue tube that shimmered, scanner still in hand as he went. "What the fuck is going on?!" he cursed as he flew through the tube, before spotting what appeared to be the end of the tube ahead of him. "And where the hell am I going?!"
A few seconds later, he hit something hard face first. "Owwww!" He groaned as he slowly got onto his feet, rubbing his face to dull the pain. Then, he saw where he was, and gained a shocked and confused look on his face. "Where am I?" he said as he looked at his surroundings.
He was in a large building of some sort, with the floors being silver in color, as were the walls, although the upper portions of the walls were light orange in color. The ceiling was primarily clear, with silver supports running through it at equal intervals. He was standing on a white round dot that was part of a ring of more dots, with more rings nearby that were separated by a larger version of the Chaotic symbol, which was spinning around in place. Multiple screens were on the walls, while various people could be seen walking around, many having Code scanners in their hands.
To his right was a large food court, where more people could be seen eating and talking.
Before he could move, a blue oblong robot floated over to him.
"Welcome to Chaotic first-timer," The robot said to him in a older male voice, the speaker holes lighting up with a yellow light as it spoke. "You are KamiFollower, correct?"
"Um, yes," He replied with a slow nod.
"Good," The robot said to him happily. "I want to inform you that your first battle is in 5 minutes. Please follow me."
"Um, okay," He replied, before he followed the robot over to a moving sidewalk and got onto it. 'What the heck is going on?!'
"Now, I know you are confused about what is going on," The robot explained as Gavin looked around with confusion, before he gained a shocked look as they exited the building. The building they had just left was very big in size, and primarily silver in color, with orange glass windows on the top, and several moving walkways leading from it, as well as a monorail. "Chaotic is a place where Chaotic players can come and battle for real. It is an island as large as a city, and is divided into seven sections by seven rivers, with each section containing a BattleDrome. The building you ported into is called the 'PortCourt,' and is where you can watch battles, grab a bite to eat, or trade scans with other players."
"Wait, trade 'scans?' What do you mean by that?" He asked as he looked around at Chaotic with awe.
"You will learn more about those later," The robot replied. "For now, you should worry about your first battle at the Crellan drome ahead, which is overseen by Codemaster Crellan. You will learn what a codemaster is later."
"The 'Crellan drome?'" he repeated as he looked ahead, only for his eyes to widen once more. The BattleDrome before them was quite big, although not quite as big as the PortCourt. It was somewhat shaped like a round mushroom, with it being round and blue in color, with various flat shapes carved into its surface. A white ring ran around the rim of it, with several white columns extending from it at an angle to the ground. A half arc of light blue spikes stuck out behind it at an angle.
The moving walkway he was on ended at the door to the BattleDrome, which was round and red in shape, and made of six triangular pieces that came together in a circle.
"Good luck on your first match," The robot said as they arrived at the door, which then opened, before the robot pushed him inside.
"Um, okay," he said, still in shock and surprise at what was going on, while the door shut behind him. The room he was in was completely dark, prompting him to call out, "Hello?"
Then, the lights flicked on, and he saw that the interior of the room was a dark green, with light green lines running along the walls vertically. Several concentric light green rings circled around the center of the room.
And then a hologram of the spinning Chaotic symbol appeared in the air above the center of the room.
"Welcome to BattleDrome Crellan, Gavin Woodring. Chaotic Code: KamiFollower," A male robotic voice said from the symbol. "Please step forward," It continued as a small stand rose up from the floor in front of him at the center of the room.
"Alright," he replied with some hesitation. 'What's going to happen?' he thought as he walked towards the stand.
"Dock your scanner."
He then carefully placed his scanner on the stand, finding that it fit it perfectly. There was a "CLICK!" before a hologram popped up above his scanner. On the hologram was the Chaotic symbol, as well as two large blank spaces that were separated by a green rectangle. Below the blank spaces were a few wheels. One was colored white, one gray, one green, one blue, and one purple.
"Hey, this is just like the online game," he said with some surprise as he reached over to the blue wheel and swiped it. As the wheel spun, the large blank space on the left started showing each creature he had in his deck, making him smile. "Okay, so that's my deck," he said as he looked at the blue wheel. "But, who am I playing?"
The Chaotic symbol then moved over to the opposite side of the center of the room as another stand popped up, before it moved to the side, revealing a 16-year-old girl.
The girl stood 5 feet even, and had light skin, long blonde hair, freckles, and green eyes. She was wearing a bright pink skirt and matching short sleeve shirt, as well as pink socks and shoes.
"Jane Meredith. Chaotic Codename: KittyLover. Please step forward, and dock your scanner."
"Hi! Is this your first time?" She asked him as she walked up to the stand and docked her scanner, causing a similar hologram to appear.
"Um, yeah, it is," He replied honestly.
"Well, I wish you good luck!" She answered, before she started to interact with her deck.
"Um, thank you," he replied, a bit surprised she'd said that. 'Huh, figured she would have asked me what deck I use,' He thought before the announcer spoke again.
"Please choose your deck. This is a one-on-one battle, so choose carefully."
'Huh, one-on-one, is it?' he thought upon hearing that, before he started going through his deck. 'So, who should I pick? Hmmm. Maybe Maxxor? Or Vinta?' Then, he remembered what his opponent username was, and hummed. 'I wonder…'
After several seconds of thinking, he selected his creature, and moved on to Mugic. He smirked as he quickly picked his Mugic and placed it in the green rectangle, before moving on to BattleGear. 'Hmmm, let's see,' He thought as he looked at the BattleGear he had, which wasn't much, unfortunately. 'I think I'll go with the Ring of Na'arin.' He then pulled the card from the left side and over to his creature on the right.
The card was light gray in color, and the words "Ring of Na'arin" were at the top in white. The symbol for BattleGear, which looked like an "X" that was curved on the sides with a hole in the middle, sat to the left, while the design replacing the "o" of "Chaotic" sat on the right in dark black with white behind it, showing it was a common BattleGear card. The image on the card was of a raised green, four-fingered fist, with a large golden ring that had a shining red oval gem on it. The fist was raised beneath a clear orb that had several different colored arcs of energy coming from it, with the tip of a sword or spear clashing against the orb and a sword breaking against it.

'Alright, and now for location,' He thought as he looked at the white wheel, moving through the different locations he had. 'I need to pick ten of them. Hmmm.' He then slowly began to pick different locations, thinking carefully about each pick.
Once he was done, he looked over and saw that KittyLover had already finished picking hers, and was looking at him eagerly.
"Lock your decks."
"Here we go," Gavin said as he reached out and pressed the purple button on his scanner, causing the wheels to disappear.
There was then a loud "BWOOP!" before the announcer spoke again.
"Battleboard locked. Field of play, revealed."
Then, his hologram extended to the right, revealing his opponent's choice.
'I knew it!' He thought as he looked at KittyLover's creature. 'She did pick Intress.'
The card he was referring to was a super rare card with a light blue border. The top left of the card had the symbol for the Overworlders on it, which was the exact same as the Underworlder's, but rotated 180 degrees and light blue. In white letters on the top was the word "Intress." The image was of a 7 foot tall female anthro tiger with a human face and body standing on the top of a tall building in a desert area, using water to block some attacks. She was well toned, and had long, wavy red hair with her two tiger ears sticking out at the top, dark orange fur with darker stripes, and a long tail. She had three-toed feet that ended in sharp, black claws, five-fingered hands with sharp claws at the ends of them, and fierce green eyes that were slitted. She was wearing a light gray wrap that criss-crossed over her large breasts, showing off her creamy-white underbelly, a torn dark grey loincloth that covered her crotch and hung down to just above her knees, and dark grey warps that were spread out over her thighs, calves, and feet.

Quote-The secret behind Maxxor's bond with Intress is also the wedge that keeps them apart.
"Oh, this should be fun!" KittyLover replied with a grin as she looked at the matchup. "A battle of archenemies."
"KamiFollower, since this is your first time here, you will be the attacker. Spin the location randomizer."
'Here we go,' He thought as he reached out to the wheel and spun it around, watching as multiple locations flew by.
Soon, the spinning locations slowed down, before stopping on a location that made him smile.
"Lava Pond."
"That's perfect," he said with a grin, while KittyLover frowned.
The card Lava Pond was a rare Location card that portrayed a massive lake of lava, with a large volcano in the back that had more lava pouring out of it, while Magmon stood to the side, looking over the lake.
Location-Lava Pond.
Initiative-Speed.
Location Ability-Fire attacks deal an additional 5 damage. Damage dealt by Air attacks is reduced by 5. Creatures named Magmon have Fire 5.
Quote-One of the most dangerous locations in the UnderWorld, the bubbling Lava Pond has claimed many inhabitants.
"Now, KamiFollower, choose your attacking creature, and your target creature."
"Well, there's only one choice," he said as he looked at the cards. "Takinom attacks Intress."
"Very well."
"BEWOOOOOPP!"
"KamiFollower, touch your Takinom card."
"Um, okay?" He said, with some confusion, before he did so.
As soon as he did so, something incredible started to happen.
The card disappeared into a swirl of code, before the code started to swirl around him, confusing him. "What's going on?" He said, before his eyes widened as the swirl started to rise, revealing that his feet and legs were now looking like Takinom's. "Are you serious?"
"Yep! Now let's have some fun!" KittyLover replied as she turned into Intress, crouching down like the agile catwoman she was and growling eagerly.
"I can't believe this is happening," he said as he watched his body get turned into Takinom's, before he felt a pair of wings flap behind him. Then, his head was covered and transformed into hers, completing the transformation. "I'm now Takinom," he said, his voice now sounding feminine with a hint of cruelty in it. "I'm freakin Takinom." 'Oh my god. How is this possible?!' He thought, before he was snapped out of it by the announcer.
"KamiFollower as Takinom and KittyLover as Intress at Lava Pond. Let the battle begin."
Then, the symbole began to glow white, glowing brighter and brighter every second, prompting him to cover his eyes, before it flashed.
And things got really hot.
"Where am I?" he said with confusion as he uncovered his eyes and looked around, before they widened at the sight before him. He was now standing on a rocky outcropping overlooking a massive lake of lava. Once that he recognized. "I can't believe it. It's Lava Pond." 'This is incredible!' he thought as he stared at the sight before him. 'I'm actually playing a real battle of Chaotic.' At that thought, his eyes widened, and he quickly ducked down behind a nearby rock. "Right, I'm in a fight," he whispered as he peaked from behind the rock, searching for KittyLover. "Now, where could she be?"
As he searched for her, he noticed that the Ring of Na'arin was on his finger, making him sigh with relief. "Well, at least I have this with me," he said, before he sighed again with frustration after seeing no sign of Intress. "I guess I better take to the skies," he continued as he jumped up into the air, finding the ability to fly something that he could do without thinking, like breathing. It was like it was ingrained in him.
As he flew over the lake, suddenly, a massive blast of snow, freezing winds, and ice shards came hurtling towards him, causing him to nearly curse as he tucked in his wings and dodged it. "That was close," he said to himself as he quickly flew towards where the blast had come from. "I almost got hit by that Frost Blight."
Then, he spotted Intress, and grinned. "There you are. Fire Orb!" he said as he instinctively created a ball of fire in his hands and threw it at her. 'Wow. It's so easy to do this,' He thought as he watched the orb hurtle towards her. 'Like, really easy.'
Just before his fire orb hit her though, she turned around, revealing she was holding a large device that consisted of two large prongs beneath a large fan, and activated the device. A large shield of water then appeared, blocking his fire orb.
"Aqua Shield," he muttered as he stared at the device. "I should have known."
"You'll have to do better than that if you want to beat me!" Intress said, her voice sounding elegant yet tough.
"Oh, I will," he replied quietly as he followed her. "I will." 'But how?' He thought as he followed her. 'I can't damage her while she has that shield.'
'I gotta get him somehow,' Intress thought as she leaped onto a large boulder, before jumping across a small stream of lava. 'And soon, cause this heat is killing me.' "Hail Storm!" She cried as she turned around and aimed her hands at him. Large hailstones began to shoot out of her hands at him at high speed, making his eyes widen before he attempted to dodge them.
"Crap crap crap crap crap!" He cried as he tried to dodge them all, only to get hit on the leg by a couple. "Oww!"
"Yes, I got him," Intress said with a grin, before her eyes widened slightly as another flame orb flew at her, prompting her to use the Aqua shield again. "Yikes!" She continued as she felt herself get pushed back a little. 'He's not happy.'
'Man that really hurt!' He thought as he rubbed his sore leg, trying to dull the pain. 'If I'd been hit by that in the wings, I'd be done for sure! I gotta get rid of that shield!' Nodding to himself, he then began to fire more flame orbs at her, prompting her to run while holding the Aqua shield up.
"What's he doing?" She muttered to herself with some confusion as she ran, sweat pouring down her sides. "He knows he can't hit me while I have this shield."
But soon, she realized what he was doing when she found herself on a very large rock surrounded by lava, and had nowhere else to go. 'Shit!' She inwardly cursed as she turned around, and saw that Takinom was grinning widely.
"There's nowhere to go," Takinom said, before cackling a bit as she created two flame orbs in her hands and got ready to fire them at Intress. "End of the line."
'I have no choice,' Intress thought, before she yelled out, "Fortissimo!"
"Oh boy," Gavin said as he extinguished his flame orbs, while he heard the familiar sound of the Mugic echo throughout the cavern. Then, a white glowing pillar of faint light appeared over Intress and fell onto her. He backed up a bit as he watched her body slowly grow bigger and bigger and bigger, until he could easily be captured in her hand.
"It looks like the tables have turned," Intress said in a booming voice as she looked at him with a smirk.
'Oh man! How am I going to beat her now? She's massive!' he thought as he looked her over, before spotting something. Something that gave him an idea. 'Wait, I got it!'
"That's what you think!" He exclaimed, before he pointed his arms down at the rock and shouted, "Torrent of Flame!" A rush of flames then shot from his palms, moving like they were liquid, and went right at the rock under Intress' right foot. The flames hit the rock and quickly chipped away at it, soon knocking off a big chunk that caused Intress to lose her balance.
"Woooaaah!" Intress cried out as she wobbled about on one foot, before she toppled forward, managing to narrowly avoid falling into the lava by using some nearby rocks to keep her from falling in. Unfortunately though, her Aqua shield fell into the lava, and exploded in a burst of code.
"Perfect!" he said with a grin as he looked at her current position, noticing that only one foot was on a rock, as the other was crossed over it to avoid hitting the lava. "Now then. Cannon of Casualty!" he cried as he used his Mugic, making Intress' eyes widen.
"Oh no!" She said as the notes of the Mugic played, before a massive pillar of flames shot down and hit her in the back. "Agh!"
"You're done," He said as the Mugic continued to hit Intress, before noticing that she was starting to shrink. "heh, especially since Fortissimo is fading away."
"No!" Intress cried out as she continued to shrink down, before she lost her footing and fell into the lava, exploding into code and disappearing. Then, he was surrounded by a pillar of light, before he found himself back in the BattleDrome, with Takinom's body disappearing into code around him
"Intress has been defeated. KamiFollower wins."
"Alright!" he said, before looking over at KittyLover. "Hey, that was a good fight."
"Yeah, it was," She replied as she grabbed her scanner before turning away and walking towards the nearby door. "I had fun. Hopefully we can fight again."
"I hope so as well," Gavin replied as he grabbed his scanner, before heading to the door as well.
When he stepped outside, he was surprised to see that a 7 foot 6 tall humanoid figure was standing before him. It was wearing a pure white robe that was completely closed except for the very bottom, showing it was wearing white shoes with red stripes on them. The collar of the robe was black with red gems scattered along it, and a long, round white mask with black circular eye lenses and a red line for a mouth. The mask also had a couple points in the back, making it look like it had horns.
"KamiFollower, would you please come with me?" The figure said in an electronic male voice that sounded very wise. "We have some things to discuss."
"Um, sure," he replied, confused with what was going on, before he followed the figure around the drome.
The figure then came to a stop, and held out a white gloved hand. "Now take my hand."
"Um, alright," Gavin said, feeling even more confused, before he reached out and took it.
"Thank you," The figure said, before the surroundings suddenly changed.
"What the heck?!" he exclaimed as he now found himself in a large black room that had a large round black table in the middle of it, with the Chaotic symbol on it, while seven black chairs sat around it, with a larger eight one sitting at one side. "Where are we?"
"We are in the Council Chambers of the CodeMasters," The figure replied as he let go of his hand, before moving over to the largest chair and sitting down in it. "Now please, have a seat."
"Um, okay," Gavin replied, feeling very confused and somewhat curious as he walked over to a seat across from the figure and sat down in it.
"Now, let me introduce myself. I am CodeMaster Moduom. I oversee the entire island of Chaotic, and choose the CodeMasters that lead the BattleDromes. I have other responsibilities as well, but that is all you need to know for now," The figure said, making his eyes widen with surprise. "Now, I'm sure you have many questions, but please hold them for now, as I will be answering most of them in my explanation. You see, KamiFollower, all players who come here are actually existing simultaneously on Earth. When a player leaves Chaotic, they become one person again, and the Earth version of the player gains the memories of what they experienced. But in your case, it's different."
"What do you mean?"
"Take out your scanner, and I will explain," Moduom replied, prompting him to do so. "You see, with this particular scanner, your flesh and blood body is here in Chaotic, while the copy of you is on earth. When you return, you will gain the memories of what the copy experienced. In order to port back home, you need to select the return home option on your scanner, which will only work when you are in Chaotic. But keep this a secret, as you are the only one who has this particular model."
"I am? Why's that?"
"You see, it took many, many years and resources to make a model capable of doing what I just explained. So, only one was ever made," Moduom explained, sounding a bit disappointed with that fact. "If word was to get out about your scanner, there would be a massive fuss about it. So, it must be kept secret."
"Oh," Gavin said, eyes wide with surprise. "So, is that the only thing that makes it different from the others?"
"Oh no, it is also different in other ways. It can hold multiple scans at once, unlike the other scanners, which can only hold one scan. It also has increased music storage, and like all other scanners, it can only be used by you."
"Okay, I've heard the word 'scan' a few times today," Gavin said. "What does that mean exactly?"
"Ah, yes, scans," Moduom replied with a chuckle. "You see, KamiFollower, Chaotic is located in its own dimension, separate from the land of Perim. From here, a player can teleport, or 'port,' to anywhere in the land of Perim, whether it be to the Danian location of Mount Pillar, or the Underworld City ruled by Chaor. Your scanner here can detect creatures close to you and scan them to use in battle. If you have a location card, you can use your scanner to go to that location. Does that answer your question?"
"Um, yeah, I think it does," Gavin replied while inwardly screaming with excitement. 'Oh my god! I can go explore the land! That's fucking awesome!' "But um, how did Chaotic even come to be? And why?"
"Ah, those are questions I am afraid I cannot answer," Moduom said with a sigh, before standing up from his chair and walking over to Gavin. "Now then, let us return to the PortCourt," He continued as he reached a hand out.
"Um, alright," Gavin replied, feeling a bit disappointed that he wasn't going to get an answer, before he stood up and took his hand.
Then, his surroundings changed once more, and he found himself standing outside the PortCourt, with no one around to see them.
"KamiFollower, it was good to talk with you," Moduom said to him as he released his hand. "I hope you enjoy your time in Chaotic." He then stepped back into the shadow of the building and disappeared while thinking, 'Gavin Woodring, I look forward to what you do in this land.'
Gavin stared at the shadow of the building for several seconds, before he blinked several times. "Well that was interesting," he said, before he turned and headed into the PortCourt.
As he walked inside, he saw that on one of the screens was footage of his battle against KittyLover. "Wait, people could see us fight?" he said with surprise. "Woah. That's…surprising, but not completely unexpected." He then looked down at his scanner, and hummed to himself. "So, how do I go to Perim exactly?" he said as he looked at it closely.
"Hey, KamiFollower."
"Huh?" he said as he turned to see who was calling out his Chaotic name.
"Nice battle," A 15-year-old male player said as he walked over to him. "I liked how you used Torrent of Flame to make KittyLover lose her footing." This player had black hair, slightly tan skin, light blue eyes, and stood 5 foot 9 inches tall. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with a white target symbol on it, a black elbow-length shirt underneath it, blue jeans, and grey trainers.
"Oh, um thanks," Gavin said. "It was really a spur of the moment thing though."
"Well, it was still a good play," The player replied. "My name's Tom. And yours is?"
"Gavin," He replied as he shook his hand. "Gavin Woodring. Nice to meet you Tom."
"It's nice to meet you as well," Tom replied, before noticing he had his scanner out. "So, what were you trying to do just now?"
"Oh, I'm trying to figure out how to go to Perim," Gavin said as he looked at his scanner. "Think you can help me out?"
"No problem!" Tom replied with a smile. "I'd be happy to. Follow me." He then turned and started walking away, prompting Gavin to go after him.
"You port from the teleporter pads here," Tom explained as he reached the pad that Gavin had landed on earlier.
"Oh," Gavin said with understanding, before he stepped on one of the circles in the pad. "So, how exactly?"
"Okay, first off, do you have a destination in mind?"
"I do," Gavin replied with a nod.
"Alright, then if you have that card, pull it up," Tom said, prompting Gavin to pull up a location card of a place he'd always wanted to visit. "If you didn't have a card and did the next step without one pulled up, you could end up porting anywhere."
"Ah, I see," he replied. "So, now what?"
"Now, you press the button at the top of your scanner," Tom explained. "That's how you port to Perim."
"Ah," Gavin said with a smile. "Thanks Tom."
"You're welcome Gavin," Tom replied with a smile, before Gavin pressed the button, causing him to be surrounded in a pillar of light.
He then disappeared from view, while Tom walked away with a smile. "He seems like a nice guy," he said. "Maybe we can battle sometime."
Meanwhile…
"Man, porting feels weird," Gavin said as the light surrounding him disappeared, showing he was in a completely different area. "Like, really weird. It'll take me some time to get used to that." He then looked around at his surroundings, and gasped at the sight before him.
He was standing near the edge of a large cliff that had some boulders sitting at the edge of it, while a slight breeze blew. Off in the distance was a massive complex of tall, sprawling, dark-colored stone mountains that looked somewhat like jagged pillars, with the tallest one in the center. Multiple entrances could be seen with torches lighting them, while several long stone paths connected them above ground. The sky was dark and foreboding, like it was going to rain at any second.
"Wow, Mount Pillar is even more beautiful and imposing in person," he said with awe as he stared at the structure. He then spotted several beings at the various entrances he could see and pulled out his scanner to get a closer look.
When he activated the camera function on his scanner and aimed it at the nearest entrance, he gasped. "Oh my, they look even cooler in person," he said as he looked at the Danian guards.
Mount Pillar was the colossal home of the Danian tribe, who were a race of insect-like creatures that dwelled in the UnderWorld, meaning that the sky he was seeing was covering up the ceiling of the UnderWorld. They dwelled within a strict social hierarchy, wherein a single Queen led her colony with absolute sway.
From what he knew of them, which wasn't much, they had a malicious relationship with the Mipedians, and did not like trespassers, with them using Danian parasites to assimilate captured trespassers into the hive-mind.
The Danian guards were comprised of Mandiblors, who were the lowest rank in Danian society. They were quadrupedal, and had two arms that had three fingers on each hand. They looked a lot like ants, with large abdomens, and long skinny heads that had two long antennae sticking up and forward. Their eyes were compound like those of ants, but they had black slit pupils. Their mouths were long and jagged, and they had small holes serving as their nostrils. They were red in color, with gold markings on their elbows in the shapes of dots. They also had gold torsos, and were holding gray cyclances, BattleGear that was invented by the Mipedian that could blow enemies away or give them an electric shock.
"Now, what am I going to do?" he said as he stared at them for several seconds, before moving his camera slowly up the side of one of the mountains, seeing that there were several small windows on it the higher he went. "I can't just walk right up to them and ask to go in. They probably hate humans, since I'm guessing most humans view them only as scans, and not as actual people/beings. And I'm definitely not going to try to sneak in there. If I got caught, I'd ruin my chances of befriending the tribe for good. And that's not a good thing to do if I want to befriend each tribe." 'Hmmmm, what to do, what to do,' he thought as he stared at Mount Pillar.
Then, he got an idea. 'Maybe if I show them that I don't mean any harm, they might let me go in,' he thought. 'But how could I do that?'
After thinking for several seconds, he sighed, and sat down on the ground behind the boulder, before he pulled out some earbuds and attached them to his scanner. 'I need some music to help me think,' he thought as he opened his scanner and tapped on his music playlist.
As the song "After Midnight" by David Lewis Luong started to play, he resumed thinking of various ways he could show the Danians he didn't mean any harm and just wanted to be friends with them, unaware that he would be thinking for a long time.
Eventually, after several songs had passed, the song "Think Positive" by Luke Britnell came on, and he started to sing along with it, forgetting that he wasn't trying to draw attention to himself.
As he sang, he was also unaware that the wind was carrying his voice over to the mountain, and that the Danians were hearing it.
Things were going to be getting interesting. Very interesting.
