(Double Date)
*May 24th, 1941*
*1:15pm*
*Central Park*
It was a sunny yet warm day as Russell and Carrie were waiting for Emma and Charlotte at the park.
"I've never been on a date yet alone a double date before so this should be quite fun but I'm hoping that you're having a good time, Russell" Carrie had spoken to her friend as she was blushing in the process before Russell began to speak.
"I'm having a good time so far and I believe Charlotte and Emma should be here any moment but I must say that you look pretty darn swell" Russell had spoken back to Carrie as he stared at her beautiful blue dress which made Carrie smile even more.
"T-Thank you so much! I kinda wore this dress just for you since you like the color blue and all so I'm really glad that you like it…"Carrie had spoken back to her friend in a tone of relief as she looked over to see Charlotte and Emma running towards them which brought a smile to her face.
"Heya, I hope that we weren't late or anything but we're here now" Charlotte had spoken to the pair as she stopped in front of them to catch her breath as this was followed with Emma stopping as well to do the same thing.
"Hey guys, I hope that everyone has been doing well these past few days but what seems to be the plan" Emma had asked everyone as she waited for her answer while drinking some water from her bottle. "We've been doing quite well and It's all good so please don't worry about it. We're just gonna have lunch here so be sure to make yourselves comfortable, okay?" Carrie had answered back in a reassuring tone of voice as she lifted up the picnic basket which made everyone smile.
"I'm glad to hear and I've brought some soda pop as well so we should be good in that department but let's find somewhere to sit." Charlotte had spoken to Carrie once more as she and the others proceeded to walk towards the grass area as they eventually made it to their destination.
"This area of Central Park looks very gorgeous so we should eat there" Russell had spoken to everyone as he and the others proceeded to set up the picnic as they eventually sat down for their lunch.
"Woow, I never knew how gorgeous this place is, We should invite Anya, Nancy, and Calvin next time if they're not busy or anything" Charlotte had spoken out as she managed to set up everyone's plates as she handed her friends each plate and soda pop.
"She's right, I could even invite Claudia one of these times but I also like this double date as well…" Emma had spoken back with a smile on her face as she began to take a bite from her sandwich.
"So, how's the relationship so far? I hope it's been going wonderful and filled with blessings" Russell had asked Emma in a tone of curiosity as he took a sip of soda from the bottle while he heard Emma speaking.
"It's going wonderful, Me and Charlotte have been talking on the telephone recently but it's kinda hard since I got to use the main office one but I hope one day we can have telephones that can fit in our pocket" Emma had answered back with a smile on her face as this made Russell chuckle slightly before he started to speak again.
"That's some swell news! I'm glad things between you and Charlotte are working out and I hope that we can have the technology to make telephones fit in our pockets" Russell had spoken back as their conversation was watched by Carrie who had a smile on her face.
"So, Did you and Emma had a first kiss yet? You can be honest with meee" Carrie had asked Charlotte in a rather playful tone of voice as this made Charlotte blush madly before she spoke once more.
"Um, W-We did actually. It was when Emma confessed her feelings for me and I must say, It felt warm, wonderful, and just mostly positive emotions.." Charlotte had spoken back as this caught Carrie by surprise before she spoke once more.
"Really? That's so wonderful to hear and I know I've already confessed to Russell but I hope that me and Russell can reach a point to which we can share our first kiss but I guess a girl like me can only dream, right?" Carrie had spoken back while she took a bite from her sandwich as she heard Charlotte beginning to speak.
"I'm sure that day is gonna come but it honestly takes time and consent from both parties even though my first kiss with Emma happened pretty quickly although I guess it was just in the heat of the moment but just honestly wait for the perfect time" Charlotte had advised her friend as she gave her a smile and a thumbs up which made Carrie smile back.
"Thank you for the advice, I would rather wait for my special moment than for it to be rushed but I do think that you and Emma's first kiss was truly beautiful and wonderful so never forget that, okay?" Carrie had spoken back to her friend in a more upbeat tone of voice as her words were met with Charlotte nodding her head in agreement.
"Most definitely" Charlotte simply uttered back as the girls continued to talk amongst themselves for the remainder of the lunch period.
*2:45pm*
One hour had passed as Carrie and the others were packing their things as it was almost time to go home for the remainder of the day.
"Maan, I had quite a swell time with everyone and the double date was pretty darn swell as well but I hope everyone else had a good time as well" Russell had spoken to everyone as he threw his trash in a garbage bag while waiting for his answer.
"We had a very good time today and thank you and Carrie for inviting us to have Lunch and it was quite swell" Emma had answered back as her answer made Russell and Carrie smile.
"I'm glad to hear that and we should really do this again but with the others this time around" Carrie had spoken back to her friend as her request was met with nods of approval.
"That sounds quite good and I'll be sure to invite Mary as well but I hope that you and Russell have an amazing rest of your day!" Charlotte had spoken back as she and Emma waved Carrie and Russell goodbye as the pair turned the other way to leave the park.
"That was pretty fun, Emma and Charlotte sure make a darn swell couple but what did you and Charlotte talk about there just a while ago? Anything interesting?" Russell had asked Carrie as the pair began to walk away from the park as Carrie smiled as she began to speak.
"Oh nothing much! Just typical girl stuff so nothing really major or anything but I did had a good time with you so Thank you for taking me out…" Carrie had answered back with a smile on her face as this made Russell smile back.
"I'm glad, If you're having a good time then that's what truly matters so It's quite a pleasure to make you happy…" Russell had spoken once to Carrie as the pair continued to make their way out of Central Park.
"Maybe someday I could confess my feelings to Russell again and that we'll be together but until than, I should play the waiting game and see how things play out…" Carrie thought to herself as she let out a smile as she and Russell continued to walk home together as if they were a romantic couple.
