It was a dark, cloudy, and rainy day as Anya was staying behind to clean up the library as she was just finishing up.
"This rain sure isn't letting up, Glad that I brought an umbrella today.." Anya had spoken to herself as she let out a sigh of relief while walking towards the exit as she suddenly heard a voice calling out to her which made her turn around to face the person who was calling her.
"Um, excuse me, I'm sorry for being a bother but could you help me with something?" A young girl (with curly yet short hair who wore a Victorian era uniform) had spoken to Anya in a polite tone of voice as she waited for an answer.
"Um, sure. I didn't see you here but what can I help you with?" Anya had spoken back to the girl as she had taken a look at the girl who had a smile on her face as she began to speak once more.
"Thank you, I won't take long, I just need your help in finding a rather important book for me since I'm having a hard time finding it.." The young girl had spoken back to Anya while she nodded her head in understandment.
"Sure, I'll help you find the book and I'm also assuming that your parents are gonna pick you up, right?" Anya had asked the girl as the pair began roaming around the library.
"My parents are usually busy with work so I'm walking home by foot and alone but My name is Anna, if you were wondering." Anna had answered back with a smile on her face which made Anya smile back.
"That's a wonderful name, My name is Anya, It's a pleasure to meet you and I'm hoping we could become good friends after today" Anya had spoken back to Anna as this made her smile yet there was concern within that smile.
"Yeah, that would have been wonderful…BUT Let's focus on finding the book, okay? It's not anywhere in the main section since I've been checking for the last forty minutes or so…" Anna had spoken back while chuckling to herself as this made Anya suspicious.
"Strange, I never even saw or felt her presence during those forty minutes, but, I guess I was so wrapped into cleaning that I may have overlooked her…" Anya had thought to herself while she shrugged off that detail as the pair continued to walk across the school library before reaching a door that led to the storage room.
"It should be in here since the book isn't in the main library but the only issue is that we need a key, You should have one, right?" Anna had asked Anya in a tone of curiosity as she saw her bring out a key from her pocket which made Anna smile.
"It's not my key but rather Greta's key for when she locks up the library every evening but I'm just borrowing it from her" Anya had spoken to Anna while she successfully unlocked the door with the key as the pair was now able to venture towards the library storage room which was filled with many old books.
"Okay, It should be around here somewhere, we just gotta look as hard as we can" Anna had advised Anya as the two girls searched across the storage room by looking through various random books as it seemed there was no hope.
"Damn it, Are you sure that your book is here? It seems that It's not here or anywhere for that matter so our next option is to check to see if someone may had thrown it out…" Anya had suggested to Anna in a somewhat defeated tone of voice, however, Anna remained confident that the book was there.
"I'm sure it's here! We gotta find the book so I can finally move on.." Anna had spoken out as all of the sudden, she tripped and fell on a bookshelf as many books fell on her as this alerted Anya.
"Anna!?, Are you okay?" Anya uttered out in a tone of concern as she quickly assisted Anna by helping her get up from the books.
"Thank you, I'm okay, It's not like I was killed or anything but let.." Anna had spoken back before the last part of her sentence was cut off by her looking at the corner of her eye to see a rather familiar book.
"Wait, Is that.." Anya simply uttered out as she looked over to see Anna's face lit up with such joy.
"It's my book! I can't believe I've found it after all of those ye- um, I mean times! Thank you so much, Anya '' Anna had cried out as she picked up her book to hug it warmly which made Anya smile.
"Of course, I'm truly glad that we were able to find what you were looking for but we should also clean up this mess or Principal Sheldon might yell at me or force me to listen to one of his weird songs…" Anya had suggested to Anna with a smile on her face as this made both girls chuckle.
"Of course, You've helped me so it makes sense for me to return the favor.." Anna had spoken back as the girls began to clean up the storage room to the state it was before they had entered which had taken like twenty minutes
*5:14pm*
Anya and Anna were just leaving the storage room as they looked over to see the rain dying down.
"Wow, It seems that the rain has stopped and the sun is slowly coming out…" Anya had spoken out as Anna nodded her head in agreement.
"Weather these days sure is peculiar, I can say that at the least" Anna had chimed into the conversation as both girls made their way towards the library exit while Anya shutted off the lights in the process.
"I had a great time with you, I hope we can see each other again.." Anya had spoken to Anna with a smile on her face as the girls finally left the library to see the sun beaming towards the clouds.
"Anya, While we were chatting during the cleanup, You brought up that you had friends, right? I just wanted to tell you to always cherish yout friends, You just never know the day they might pass away due to war, sickness, or even getting murdered…" Anna had advised Anya with a faint smile on her face as she opened her important book to reveal a picture of her mother while Anya simply nodded her head in understandment.
"Anna, You said that you were searching for your book for forty minutes, right? I'm only asking because you look rather familiar to…" Anya had asked Anna as she quickly noticed something unusual about Anna as she began to speak.
"Anya, I can finally move on. It's thanks to your kindness but to tell you the truth, I was actually murdered by a crazed killer exactly forty years ago on this day while I was walking home. The book was actually just a picture of my mother that I kept inside…" Anna had confessed to Anya as she saw the young girl with tears flowing down her face.
"O-Oh god, You were the girl who was killed, r-right? I'm so sorry! You've must have been so scared…" Anya had spoken back in a crying tone of voice as she felt Anna hugging her despite being a spirit.
"It's okay, I'm in a much better place now, A place that I can be happy for eternity but my final wish before moving on was to see my mother for the last time and I've managed to fulfill that wish and it's thanks to you, my friend" Anna had spoken in a reassuring tone of voice as she slowly disappeared as her spirit was now at peace while Anya wiped the tears from her face.
"Goodbye, Anna. May God and his Angels guide you towards Heaven…" Anya had spoken to herself as she began her walk home before looking up towards the sky once more.
"Like Anna said, I must always cherish my friends and the moments we are spending together. My only dream and wish is for ALL of us to make it to graduation so we could all celebrate under the beautiful summer sun…" Anya had thought to herself while letting out a smile as she knew that her future was gonna be alright.
