This may unfortunately also be the final update for this story for 2023, but don't worry, we'll be moving onward to the next arc hopefully in the beginning of next year and with any luck we should be seeing the ending of it all together either late 2024 or sometime in 2025. Episode 30: Super Sonic VS Julius-Part 1!
Last time, Sonic has come face to face with Julius Robotnik, who has made the horrific revelation that he is Jonathan reborn, seeking to use the power of the Chaos Emeralds, and successfully does so by using Vanilla as an Chaos Energy host.
Sonic, Cream and Cheese manage to escape along with the Colony Chao, while Knuckes, Rouge, Topaz and the Chaotix manage to free all of the prisoners who then escape from the island.
But now our heroes and Dr. Robotnik are about to face the true terror of Julius Robotnik as a giant!
Will Sonic and his friends save Mobius, or is the planet doomed to be under the evil monster's rule?
The horrific sight of the evil transformed monster that stood before them was something out of people's nightmares, yet there was no awakening from a dream that was reality, the bellowing laughter echoing through the darkened sky that seemed to have been summoned by the will of Julius Robotnik, the remnannts of the sun's light helpless to seep through, the sky itself, even the traces of the stars and moon were blocked out, black clouds of darkness, shades of purple swirling like a tentacles and ribbons.
On the ground, Sonic held the terrified Cream and Cheese in his arms to shield them from any more harm Julius could possess against them, their fearful whimpers hanging in balance, along with those of the innocent Chao, the small, fragile species huddled into a group together in fear, seeking safety and shelter of those that had saved them. Knuckles stood frozen, paralyzed in the shock of the impossible that the evil Iron Empire Leader has accomplished.
Rouge and Topaz were both equally speechless, words caught in their throats which tightened with no desire of letting loose, hearts leaping up and down repeatedly, while Vector, Espio and Charmy, their faces betraying that of horror, disbelief and confusion spreading across their expressions, all thought they were having very bad dreams. High in the air, Tails felt his heart jump right into his throat before plummeting into his stomach, shaken by the terrifying event that he was unable to stop himself from whimpering, shaky breaths barely audible and unable to escape.
Amy's hands covered her mouth, muting the gasp that matched of what her heart was feeling, frightened to the core and fearing what would become of Sonic, Cream and Cheese. Chris gulped, scared out of his mind as had thought giants were fiction, the exception being Robotnik's massive robots but again those were made out of metal.
Even Robotnik and his creations were beyond horrified, but none more so than the evil scientist himself. In all of his years, both in his childhood growing up under the light of his father, before the darkness of his own brother extinguished it all in his own bare hands, to his conquests for world dominance, his battles against the infuritating Sonic the Hedgehog who would drive him insane for foiling all of his plans, nothing could prepare the evil scientist for this horrific event.
"Julius...What in Mobius' name have you done to yourself?" Robotnik murmured, his own breath shaky, his heart caught up into his throat, fear, dismay, and sense of unease washing over him like a wave of oil threatening to drown and poison him.
"Any idea how we can stop that giant guy?" Charmy asked, hopefully.
Sonic felt his heart skip a beat, his eyes scanning for a possible solution to save Vanilla and stop Julius before the evil Iron Leader could begin his mad conquest to rule Mobius. His mind raced for a quick possibility, for a solution in rescuing the kind mother. The blue hedgehog's skin crawled, the devastating power of Julius and the negativity of the Chaos Emeralds threatening to overwhelm his senses.
"If he is powered by the Chaos Emeralds, the only way to stop him is to get them and Vanilla off of him," Knuckles explained, wincing in sudden discomfort as he held a hand to his face, the twinge of shock as though someone set off an electrical surge into his mind, sucking away the air in his lungs like a vaccume making it hard for him to focus properly. "He's also using the Master Emerald's power...I can feel it...It's...It's in pain..."
"That means Vanilla's in pain too...! He'll drain not just the Emeralds' power, but her Chaos Energy is dangerous!" Sonic realized, his heart and blood freezing into ice, attempting to prevent himself from shaking.
Oh, Chaos, if this keeps up, Julius will drain away all of Vanilla's life energy, as her Chaos Energy is directly linked to it, as it is to all Mobians on the Planet. Knuckles was right: The only way to end all of this is to retrieve the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic's eyes narrowed, determination, courage and compassion cloaking him in a robe of light weighted responsibility.
'Guess it's time for me to transform into Super Sonic.' He thought to himself, knowing that it was all the negative power the evil Iron Empire Leader was using because of all the greed, hate, rage, and malevolence entrapping his heart, embracing it all.
Sonic knew then and there, he had to conquer it with the power of positivity, with all of his pure heart to win this fight.
"W-What does it mean?" Cream asked, now more afraid than ever.
The hero of Mobius didn't answer. Instead, he gently escourting her and Cheese to the Chaotix, entrusting them for the children's safety. "Vector, Espio, Charmy, you guys take Cream and Cheese to the X Tornado and all of you get outta here!"
"What are you doing!?" Topaz exclaimed in disbelief.
"I'm gonna get Vanilla back and stop that monster!" Sonic declared, refusing to allow Julius frighten him, his attention swift from the bewildered exchanged glances from the rest of the group, to the red echidna. "Knux, you focus on getting the Master Emerald back! Then we'll both get the Chaos Emeralds!"
"Right!" The red echidna, shaking his head to recover from his connection with the gem he was entrusted to guard, agreed wholeheartedly. He was also relieved that his younger friendly rival made the right call to let the others get Cream and the Chao out of here.
Sonic, for all of his recklessness and childish optimism, was really responsible for the safety of those he deeply cared about and at the same time had the full trust in others to ensure those younger than him would be safe at the same time. The hero of Mobius was still a kid himself, but Knuckles had to admit, the hedgehog was one of the bravest kids on the planet.
"Mr. Sonic! You'll get hurt!" Cream protested, shaking her head pleadingly. Fear, guilt and sorrow still engulfing the poor child, not wishing to lose her big brother figure either.
"It's gonna be okay," Sonic softly reassured, a soft smile spreading as he could sense the girl's unease and pleads, gently rubbing her head before kissing it carefully, much to his youngest friend's surprise as she began to tear up. "I still promise to get your Mom back, and if it make's ya feel better, I'll be back before you know it. That I also promise."
Cream's honey eyes soon became floodgates of sorrow, her tears growing from her pained little heart's feelings. Cheese was already crying, his little arms reaching for his eyes, tears pouring out like raindrops, his squeals of sorrow wailing in a sound of a young baby Mobini's cries for it's mother. It shattered the hedgehog's heart, to see the cute little Chao cry, and how the sweet, little rabbit girl was close into crying herself, her sniffles squeezing his chest.
To ease their sorrow and fears, despite knowing the huge risks, Sonic gently wrapped his arms around their smaller figures ones more to soothe their mental pain, focusing into pouring his aura of love onto them, before he reluctantly stepped back. Time was running out, and they had to do all they can to set things right.
"Be careful, Sonic," Espio cautioned. "Julius is draining the power of the Chaos Emeralds and is becoming stronger."
"Yeah, but he isn't using their full real power. There's always a loop hole here and there." The blue hedgehog winked with a casual wave, silently promising to not give up.
"You sure you can handle this, Big Blue? That guy means serious business." Rouge questioned, a hint of concern shown in her face despite attempting to hide it, as well as in her voice.
"Not gonna let that stop me!"
Without arguing any further, Sonic sped off to try and fight against Julius in what would be the greatest battle of his life, despite Cream and Cheese' protests. Knuckles grunted, before he took off to locate the Master Emerald while the others, hesitant to leave the two Mobian teens behind to deal with the now giant Iron Leader, turned to race off to take the two youngsters and the wild Chao off to safety with Vector, scooping them up into his larger hands, holding them gently like a delicate doll, the five year old little girl screaming out the blue hedgehog's name along the way.
It was happen again: She about to lose more of those she loved, and Cream continued to engulf herself with self-blame that would ache her sweet, kind, and bright heart for the rest of her life. Sonic was her close friend, and big brother she never had...
Now he was going to risk his life, maybe even sacrifice himself, to save her mother.
"What are Sonic and Knuckles doing!?" Chris exclaimed, seeing a blue streak raced straight towards the enormous Julius who continued to gloat over his success.
"I think they're gonna try and fight Julius!" Tails exclaimed, worriedly.
"Sonic...Please be careful..." Amy whispered, praying that her 'boyfriend' would be alright.
Sonic's legs became a blur of blue, red and white, his speed taking him to the new heights of the evil giant human, empowered of dark, negative energy, fueled by the living Mobian to keep his new power stabilized, the hedgehog's heart beating in adrenaline of anxiety, concern, deep courage and determination to set things right. His eyes sharpened, refusing to allow fear overwhelm him.
The hero of Mobius soon planted himself to a stop, his heels screeching against the hardened soil, leaving behind a trail of dust that soon dissipated, his hands curled up tightly into fists, planted firmly on his hips.
"Hey! Julius!" Sonic shouted, his voice loud, sharp and clear to get his enemy's attention. The giant man, his evil laughter caught short by the sound of the teenager's cries, slowly tilted his head to gaze into the smaller hedgehog's direction. "This has gone far enough, big guy! I'm giving you one more chance to let Vanilla go, give back those Emeralds and come with me quietly! Or else we're gonna have to play it rough and loud!"
Julius' sinister grin only grew, his teeth glittering and reflected in the darkened sky, the sheer power of great confidence, glee, pure evil and holding a predetory look of a monster showing how remorse for his actions radiating a chilling aura like the coldest blizzard on the Planet.
"IT IS TOO LATE, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. I HOLD THE POWER OF THE CHAOS EMERALDS, THIS FOOLISH MOTHER OF THE CHILD AND HER CHAO, AND ALL OF IT'S KIND, AND SOON YOU AND ALL OF YOU MOBIANS ARE MY FUEL TO INCREASE MY STRENGTH. NOW MOBIUS IS ALL MINE AND ALL OF THOSE ACROSS THE PLANET WILL BOW BEFORE ME!" Julius declared, his first two steps towards the hedgehog making thunderous shakes and sounds like a combined Earthquake on a stormy night with violent thunder roaring in the sky.
"Like I haven't heard that before from your brother? You're not even using a courter of the Chaos Emeralds' powers, Buttnik! And nobody's ever gonna be bowing down to you, let alone use us as your living batteries, just like Eggman does with all the cute critters and Mobini for his lousy pieces of junk!" Sonic crouched slightly, putting up a fighting stance to prepare himself for the final battle.
"HEH HEH HEH...WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT, BLUE CHILD."
"In case you forgot, I'm the fastest thing alive!" Sonic's narrowed eyes tightened, curling tightly into a ball as he used his Homing Attack to at least distract Julius while hoping to break Vanilla free to get her out of the firing line.
Yet, for all intense purposes, the now giant former human, his veins continuously flowing with the powerful, chilling, icy cold flows of negative Chaos Energy, easily swiped at the blue hedgehog's curled form, the impact of the massive, iron-thick-like hand, enough to force Sonic to unravel himself. The loud smack, the sensation of what felt like he was being hit by a giant boulder crushing nearly every part and bone of his body, made him grunt at the sudden agony before crashing right into the nearby stone rock piller, rock, dust and debris sent flying in the thick cloud.
Sonic hissed, breathing heavily as he felt the air from his lungs being purged out in that single, easy swipe, his vision blurred that he ended up seeing triple for a brief second before shaking his head to regain his senses.
"Ugh...He just swiped me like a mosquito...!" The blue hedgehog winced, one hand gently raised to his head, the throbbing pain in his skull, as well as the rest of his body, making it nearly impossible to focus. But his heart and soul persisted, refusing to allow him to surrender to the likes of the giant Iron Empire Leader.
The sudden chill, lack of the covered moonlight as it's illuminating glow was engulfed by the darkness of the black clouds swallowing up the night sky, leaving nothing but the chill of Julius' might against the world, high above on the controlled landmass of Angel Island, soon alerted the fourteen year old as he snapped his attention upward, gasping in horror to see the giant man looming over him, his shadow leaving the hedgehog seemingly at his mercy.
"EVEN WITH YOUR SPEED, I HAVE THE POWER TO OVERCOME THE MOST GIFTED, ANNOYING, LITTLE MOBIANS." Julius taunted, looming his massive right hand towards his enemy, who, narrowing his eyes in deny and courage, forcefully ignored his injuries just in time to leap away to safe, narrowly avoiding the thick, trunk-like fingers coiling around him.
"You just have a power to cheat and using a living, innocent person to keep yourself stabled!" Sonic snapped, landing neatly against the hardened ground, his feet and one hand firmly placed against the dirt to soften his landing. "Face it, Julius. You're just as normal as everybody else, only you're destroying yourself with all that energy!"
"NO. I HAVE ALL THAT I NEED, ALL I HAVE ACHIEVED. I AM A GOD NOW. I AM IMMORTAL!"
"The Chaos Emeralds don't grant immortality to anybody!" Sonic hissed, relying on racing in circles around the giant Iron Emperor, his body fusing the powerful blue glow, a trail of blue blur left in his wake with his legs vanishing in the spirals of red as he ran, hoping to make his enemy to lose his concentration.
But Julius merely chuckled, thrusting his fist into the ground, causing it to crack along lines of zig zags, the unbelievable strength superior to that of Knuckles' legendary power, fissures widening with the earth-tremor-like shakes, threatening to swallow anything and anyone into the darkness below. Caught in the earthquake's powerful tremor, Sonic, sending out a gasp of shock, his eyes widened with the fears of falling into the dark abyss within the beautiful, floating island, if not straight through the bottom and hitting either the ocean or the surface below where he would most certainly die, was forced to screech to a stop, using much of his strength to leap up and back to escape that certain fate.
The strength of Julius Iron Robotnik also caused Knuckles, who was nearing the remains of the Iron Empire Base, build around what he saw and realized was the altar shrine of the Master Emerald itself, still hooked by the great power of the amphilizer, and even Vector's group, the crocodile still carrying the helpless and deeply worried Cream and Cheese, nearing the remaining airship towards the safety off Angel Island, to all lose their balance, cries and stumbles like a bouncing castle, their legs unable to hold them up and fell, stopped within their own tracks, tumbling forward with loud, surprised and pained grunts.
"Whoa...! That was-UGH!" Sonic was cut off when he unfortunately distracted, far too much for which it gave Julius the seizing chance to grab him.
The pressuring strength of the giant, tree-trunk-like thick fingers keeping him coiled like the biggest snake of all existence forced the air out of his lungs, the blue hedgehog gasping a wheeze, the tightness keeping him immobilized save for his arms. Sonic began to panic, struggling to pull himself free, screaming while the giant Julius lifted him towards his face, the two meeting face to eye, the dark orbs pouring with the mist of pure evil, the red and purple pupils enough to send chills down the hedgehog's spine.
From the ground, dirt mingling onto the skin and clothing of the escapees, Vector, having used his larger body and arms to coil around the smaller, fragile forms of Cream and Cheese, and the Chao, their alarms of melodic squeaking fear like unsettled chimes in the strongest gusts, Cream's fearful whimpers, high-pitched of a frightened child that she is, had successfully succeeded in preventing himself from crushing them. He, along with Espio who was in the similar position with Charmy, Rouge and Topaz, all let out a collective groans of dizzy waves swimming through each of their visions, slowly pushing themselves and their young charges up.
"Are you okay, Cream?" Vector asked, urgency and fear creeping in his voice and features.
"I-I think so..." Cream whimpered, Cheese letting out a soft, mournful coo.
"Uh...We are, but Sonic isn't!" Charmy's fearful cries, intertwined with a pointed shaky finger aimed directly at from where they came, his eyes widened.
Alarm and concern etching all across their faces, the rest of the group including all of the innocent, now homeless Chao, met where the young Bee gestured, gasps bellowing out like an echo of a powerful wave of eruption upon the sight of Juilus holding the wriggling and squirming form of Sonic the Hedgehog, whose position now left him completely helpless and trapped within the giant monster's grasp.
Cream's heart shattered, her whimper of horror, guilt and terrible thoughts reaching through her mind, feeling the pull of gravity swallow her into the void of darkness, threatening to engulf the small child. Her mind whirled back to the nightmares she had been having for weeks, the very haunting, dark sillhoutee image of Jonathan/Julius capturing her older brother figure, had now become the very reality she feared would come to be.
"SONIC!" The five year old's screamed, trying to reach out for him.
Vector felt the similar horror, the memories of when he had wrongly kidnapped Sonic, the accusation towards the teenage hedgehog hero still fresh within his mind, the guilt for having mingled the fourteen year old in the first place. He knew, without a single doubt, especially when Sonic had entrusted him for the safeties of Cream, Cheese and all of the Chao, that he had to do something to repay his debt for his mistakes, for the sake of the girl in his charge.
"Hold Cream and Cheese, and watch over Charmy!" Vector instantly, with the gentle care in a rarity he was known for, handed his group of youngsters to Topaz, who stumbled at the sudden embrace of the young rabbit girl and the small, child-like creatures, awkwardly but safely secured within her arms.
He didn't stop there, snatching a startled-crying Charmy out of Espio's arms, setting him aside to Rouge who blinked, her teal eyes widened in wonder, soon mingling with realization.
"Espio, you're with me! We're gonna try and save Sonic and Cream's Mama!" The detective Crocodile turned to his chameleon friend, who responded with a nod of understanding and determination, seeing the rare case reason for his older friend's actions.
While neither detectives had any experience of facing against giant opponents before, their career being that of investigations and for good cause, their current cilent, one whom had offered companionship and teamwork, slowly becoming one of their trusted allies and friends, was now in the need to be rescued himself. The two took off, their feet pattering on the ground, ready to strengthen up their courage, to face the most difficult challenge of all their lives.
"You keep an eye on the bee kid," Rouge, feeling the same wave upon seeing Sonic in danger, the sweet, kind-hearted, brave and cocky hedgehog, having put his trust within her by putting aside her thieving ways for the goodness of her heart in the deepening gratitude like no other, one that she only received from Topaz, handed the youngest detective over to the human agent.
Extending her wings to their might, allowing the air and gravity take her to the skies, Rouge soared to help aid the hero of Mobius himself.
"SONIC!" Tails, Amy and Chris all shared the horrified screams, their souls sinking within their hearts and stomachs, seeing their older friend in the death-like clutches, the X Tornado only able to soar in an agonizing slow pace, the blue hedgehog now unable to do anything to stop the evil man.
"We have to help Sonic!" Amy's voice cried, the urgency and fear mingled, her hands clinging upon the back of Tails' seat, the pressure making tiny squeaks in her grasp, her knuckles turning white.
"Right! Hang on!" Tails, un-wavered and determination filling his senses to overcome his fears, launched the X Tornado as fast as it could allow, the absence of their Chaos Emerald still lingering, but their compassion to help their blue heroic friend burned ferociously.
"How are we going to stop that monster, Dr. Robotnik!?" Decoe cried out, frantically, fear and doubt etching within his A.I hard-drive, as it did within Bocoe who ducked behind his dashboard, the metallic sounds of a whimper, like a broken record slowly dying, echoed in the thickness of the tensed air.
"I don't care if Julius has grown into a big, fat, giant, ruler-wanna-be! If it's war he really wants, it's war he'll soon be getting!" Robotnik roared, his darkest command, his lust for dominance for his own gain reached it's mark. Even if it meant doing the one thing he never thought it would come to light within the clouded darkness, which irked him of discomforting disgust within his stomach.
Forming a brief truce with all of his enemies.
"Eggsterminator: Launch attack on Julius, and do NOT hold back against him!" The mad doctor commanded loudly, anger and pure hate flowing in a deep, dark and deadly tone within his voice.
Under it's creator's command, the Eggsterminator's powered jets ignited with the burst of flames of life, the powerful roars like the hungry dragon, it's sights set into putting an end to Julius' own goals and life once and for all.
Julius bellowed a dark, wicked chuckle, it's grip feeling the child-like pleasure creeping into his dark, red, evil, tained soul, the sheer delight upon feeling the warmth and movement of the squirming hedgehog within his hand, using his strength to slowly but surely increase the pressure on his prey, the grunts and hiss of pain, the tingle of fear in Sonic's voice as sweet and soft like a beautiful melodic music, singing within his ears. One that he would cherish for all eternity.
Sonic in the meantime continued to try and pull himself free, but it was a futile attempt, struggling to hold back his whimpers of fear of being held like a toy by not a giant robot, even though deep down, never fully ready to admit it even towards himself, scared him to the death, but within the hand of a giant human, the flesh and blood of a man whom had abandoned his inner humanity for the sake of lust for power and dominance of the planet he called home.
'Let me go! LET ME GO!' Sonic thought frantically. 'Help me! Somebody help me!'
Never in his whole life was he ever this terrified of the monster of any of his opponents, far cry of when he first confronted Robotnik in their first final showdown all those years ago, but 'Eggman' was still a human. Julius, the reincarnation of Jonathan, held no single purity of humanity within his soul or heart. Within those terrifying, ginormous eyes was that of the most evilest monster in the world.
"Tch...You're even twice as ugly as a giant and up close...!" Sonic winced, masking his fear, his teeth clenched in the frustration, anger and fear, his heart racing of the panic-stricken desperation for any hopes of escape.
"YOU POOR, FOOLISH BLUE CHILD," Julius chuckled, the deepening depths of triumph and sickening satisfaction booming in his tone. "NOTHING CAN EVER STOP ME, ESPECIALLY NOT A SMALL, WORTHLESS AND WEAK HEDGEHOG SUCH AS YOU. I AM FASTER, STRONGER, AND UNBEATABLE! I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS MOMENT TO CRUSH YOU WITHIN MY HAND, LIKE A FRAGILE, LITTLE TOY."
To prove his superiority, the evil Iron Leader increased the pressure of squeezing his prey, who grunted in pain, the sickening crushing sounds threatening to break every bone within his body, Sonic struggling to free himself, to hold in the fear threatening to overcome his courage, his undying resolve to set things right. He had to do something, to stop Julius, to save Vanilla and the world, or else Julius would rule as the most undefeated monstrous ruler of all Mobius.
"Y-You think you can really rule the world, Julius? 'Cause that's the most awful and boring job ever. Bossing people around, killing them or keeping them like toys or pets is horrible...! I won't let you win!" The hero of Mobius strained, wriggling about within the thickness of the grasp.
The moment those words escaped his lips, down below, most of Sonic's friends, having seen him captured with no hopes of escaping on his own, Knuckles, the sense of hesitation creeping through the course of his veins, his pride and destiny as the Guardian of the Master Emerald being overshadowed by his loyalty towards his friends, even to Sonic the Hedgehog who would drive him crazy with all of his arrogant, brash and childish behavior, but was a pure-heartened hero who would risk his life at every moment's notice to rescue others, to defend the innocent from the evil forces without hesitation, instantly made up his mind to rescue the blue hedgehog.
His legs swift as a cheetah, nowhere near as fast as Sonic's legendary lightning speed reflexes, his undeniable strength colliding in a thunderous punch roaring through the darkness of the air at the lower thigh of Julius' leg, combined with the echidna's roar of determination and battle-cry conjoined.
"UGH!" Julius grunted, the unexpected attack, not as painful as one would expect, was enough to startle him to loosen his grip on Sonic, who hissed and, seizing his chance for an escape, pulled himself free with a small somersault, his legs flipping slightly over his head, his hands planted firmly onto the thick muscles of the giant fingers as he spun before smirking, curling up tightly into a blue ball, speeding along the evil man's arm for a Homing Attack right at his face between the eyes, skyrocketing upward upon impact.
Combined with this as well as Sonic's escape, Julius took a tumbling couple steps backwards, the throbbing pain on his face had his hands fly up to it, in a near-clumsy moment of almost losing his balance due to the annoying soreness on his leg.
"Sonic!" Rouge's voice echoed like a gentle piano banged loudly, nearly impossible to be heard within the chaos of Julius' pained cries, and the thunderous roars of the sky above with a storm brewing.
Sonic's attention snapped up, his emerald eyes shining like the brightest star in the night sky, a smile of relief creeping along his muzzle upon seeing the albino bat flying towards him, her hands reached out as her nimble fingers clasped tightly around his wrists, guiding him to the safe distance from the evil, giant man who continued to be unexpectedly distracted by their friends below.
"Thanks, Rouge! That's two I owe ya!" Sonic called out, the deepening gratitude and appreciation flowing through like a warm sunshine.
"Knuckie and the boys are the ones who are doing the distracting, I'm just doing the lifting." Rouge winked, a teasing giggle echoing, earning a soft, delicate chuckle out of the blue hedgehog.
Until the fourteen year old, his mind absorbing the next two words from his newest ally spoke in a calm, nonchalant manner, swiftly casting his gaze downward, a soft, delicate gasp forming from his lips, his mouth parted with the surprise bright as the moonlight to see Vector charge straight up towards Julius, stopping just as the giant former human regained his balance, an irritated and pained mixed groan growling in his throat, his free hand rubbing his face where Sonic had slashed him, his sharpened quills leaving behind marks.
"Hey, you Iron-Headed punk!" Vector's voice, loud, commanding as the thunderous gust enough to send many flying across the fields, roared. Capturing Julius' attention, the giant overlooked his shoulder, steeling the gaze at the 'miniature' crocodile, who's expression was that of anger and determination mingled and mixed, taking up in a deep breath, seemingly sucking in the air and dust, before a burst of flames bellowed out from his mouth like a dragon's fire, aimed directly at the evil man's feet.
Caught in shock and surprise, bewilderment overwhelming his senses, Julius soon found himself comically dancing about, the painful heat from Vector's flames made to melt his boots, to scourch away his skin from the soles, as touch the Iron Empire Leader was doing a party routine, even though he looked more like a cross of a penguin and a flamingo dancer. Those who have never witnessed the crocodile's unusual ability were left gaping in collective awe and confusion, Sonic and Rouge both exchanging a surprised glance, the hedgehog shrugging cluelessly carefully.
"Vector to breathe fire!?" Tails and Chris both simultaneously widened their eyes, the possibility of this being some kind of crazy dream crossing each their minds.
"I can't believe it!" Amy echoed, her voice trembling of awe and confusion. Since when did Vector learn how to breathe fire like that?
"That crocodile just spat out fire like a dragon!" Bocoe exclaimed, he, Decoe and especially Robotnik, the survelliance zooming in on the battle, all held the powerful sparks of dumbfoundment in their eyes.
"How can this even be possible!?" Decoe cried out.
"Ooooogh..." Robotnik's hand found it's way to his bald head, a loud slap echoing like the snap of a mouse trap within the cockpit. "This is why I hate Mobians, especially heroic types. They get all the fun Chaos Energy, granting them the power of unsuspected and unique abilities and power."
While this was happening, Espio, his invisibility granting him pure advantage of stealth, while not having the same agility as Sonic or even Knuckles, was swift enough to swipe several attacks with his mini shurikens, the reflex of each toss pinned directly at Julius' arms and back, causing the evil man's agony to increase, his roars of pain bellowed across the floating land. The purple Chameleon soon leaped to rejoin Vector's side as the latter praised him with a thumbs up, the former returning to visibility.
"Let's get 'im!" Sonic grinned, he and Rouge exchanging a silent agreement of another teamwork effort. The duo flew swiftly in, the latter swung the hedgehog like a light-weight, as Sonic then used another Homing Attack once more on the evil man's face.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Julius screamed, attempting to bat the hero of Mobius away.
"Screw kick!" Rouge exclaimed, her right leg extended, twirling her entire body in a tornado manner, hitting the giant on the chest, forcing him to stumble further into Vector's fires.
"YEAH!" Sonic cheered, his first thrust into the air as he was airborne, descending calmly just as the GUN bat agent flew in, once more her hands grasping his wrists to haul him to safety. "How'd you like that, Ju-loser?"
"Yay! Go guys!" Charmy cheered on, Cream, Cheese and all of the Chao feeling the brief wave of relief surging through their hearts, the sight of Sonic and the others fighting against Julius with the hedgehog having been rescued seeping with hope.
Unfortunately, Julius, a glint of red evil twinkling, felt the powerful, bitter-cold sensation race along his veins, his hand extended out towards the flames as he concentrated on his next move. The power surging within his blackened heart, the pure hunger for revenge and domination making him feel the thirst and near-mouth watering sensation overcome his senses, extended his hand to the flames. Dark, sparkles of tiny particles, icy cold like a freezing wind, emerged from his gloved palms, bursting onto Vector's fire, extinguishing it in a matter of seconds.
The giant, feeling the ice cooling off, the burning heat fading away like a forgotten dream, breathed out a sigh of relief. "AAAAHHHH...THAT'S BETTER."
"Hey, no fair!" Sonic shouted, anger flowing his heart upon the sight.
"Oh, great...!" Knuckles grunted, his guard increasingly raised.
"Uh-oh...!" Espio murmured, his heart sinking, his pupils shrinking with the one feeling he masked under all the years of training, the sensation of fear creeping through his very core.
"Oh, c'mon! That's cheating!" Vector complained, bewildered and horrified beyond belief.
Using the distraction of shock to his advantage, Julius let out another chuckle, his hand reaching skyward, focusing on his ultimate power. "IF THAT IS HOW YOU MOBIANS WANT TO PLAY IT...THEN LET'S HAVE SOME FUN TOGETHER! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!"
As though the darkness of the night was bending to his will, the clouds above swirled in a tornado-whirlpool movement, the flicker of sparks of lightning, dark and red, soon formed into that of a powerful orb in the giant's palm, the will of gravity soon sucking in everything. The power of Julius' Negative Chaos Energy, like a vaccum claiming it's victims, pulled at not just Sonic and Rouge, who attempted to hold on, yet the winds now against the latter, the two being the first to scream in panic, their forms spinning and twirling beyond their control, but also Knuckles who, attempting to hold on, his spikes thrust deep into the ground, grass, loose leaves and dust flying everywhere similar to a bad storm.
The power of Julius however was too much, the Guardian of the Master Emerald, strained with gritted teeth, sweat pouring from his face, his heart beating wildly in the intense fear, almost immediately lost his battle and was soon engulfed as well, followed by Vector and Espio, who both also failed to hang on, all three of them sending out cries of alarm. In the air, warning alarms blared within the X Tornado, the wind threatening to engulf the plane as well. Tails, feeling his arms shake and strain at the stiff-soreness, struggled to maintain altitude to prevent himself, and his two friends, who both held on for dear life, from suffering the same fate, fear gripping into their hearts.
"Rouge! Sonic!" Topaz, having sought out shelter from behind a large boulder, her firm warms wrapped tightly around her charges of Cream, Cheese, Charmy and the remaining Chao, the refuseful of allowing harm to come to them, felt her heart sink in terror to see both her long-time partner and the hero of Mobius caught by the winds.
"AH! Vector! Espio! They're being sucked in!" Charmy screamed, panicking.
"So are Mr. Sonic, Mr. Knuckles and Ms. Rouge!" Cream was dismayed, her guilt for the entire situation continuing to hold her within it's squeezing, near-airless grasp.
Soon Sonic, Knuckles, Rouge, Vector and Espio, swirled and spun like the mecholeny and sympony of the darkest music, Julius's powers and movements of that of a musician and acrobat playing with his toys, controlled the movement of the air trapping the five Mobians, before his hands clasped a thunderous thump, holding the hedgehog and his friends trapped within for a brief moment. He then opened up his hands, and soon began juggling the heroes, their collective cries of pain, alarm, slightly comical panic echoing as they were painfully bounced up and down in a repeat movement.
"Hey, cut it out!" Sonic shouted, his heart racing while being thrown up and down, failing to find a way out of this. "Whoa-whoa! AHHH! Put us-Ah-down!"
"Knock it off, you clown!" Knuckles demanded, his insides screaming with protests, his stomach swirling at the sickening nausea threatening to eject through his airtube.
Rouge and Vector both also felt the sickness of losing their lunch, yet in a more severe vulnerability than the red echidna, while Espio felt the sickening pop in his left arm, the loud, painful crack that prompted him to hold back the urge to scream. The giant Iron Leader simply enjoyed the little game of 'playing' with his prey, the cruel chuckle growling within his throat, the sensation in holding the heroes in his cold, iron hands brought him one of the most pleasures of all.
"STOP IT!" Chris screamed frantically.
"We've got to save them!" Amy's voice wailed with pleading, tears choking up her throat, flowing to glitter her eyes, the dam threatening to burst.
Tails shivered, his heart cracking like a glass platform in the abyss of darkness, desperation taking hold of his intelligent mind. He fought through the fear and doubts in hopes of rescuing his big brother and friends. It wasn't until his sapphire eyes caught sight of the sacred Chaos Emeralds, their rainbow colours, fading through the over-abuse of Julius' dark, wicked and cruel heart, all surrounding his upper shoulder in a make-shift ultily belt, positioned in the tiny suction cups implanted firmly through his clothing and skin, realization dawning upon the young fox's features.
Wait, of course...
"The Chaos Emeralds!" The seven year old exclaimed, earning puzzled attention from Amy and Chris. "Julius' power is growing because he has the Chaos Emeralds on him! He's using them as well as Vanilla's Chaos Energy to keep it stabilized, otherwise it will overcome him. All we need to do is get the Emeralds and Cream's mother off of him, that way he can return to his original size!"
Confusion still etching their faces, the two swiftly turned their gaze to see what their younger friend was implying, taking notice of the Emeralds themselves, as well as the long suction tube along his back, trailing like a snake's long, slithering body into the wreckage of the Iron Empire's base, the Master Emerald safely stored and unharmed, but it's power also being drained.
"So that's how Julius grew into a giant...! He's using the Emeralds including the Master Emerald!" Amy realized, her jade eyes narrowing with the growth of determination blanketing her heart like the warmth of the sunlight, the beckon of hope still remaining.
"It won't be easy, we'll need to somehow distract Julius to save our friends and get the Emeralds and Cream's mother back!" Tails cautioned, feeling the same, beckoning courage and desire within himself.
'Sonic and the others have risked their lives so much, and Julius did so many horrible things...I've been so useless. But not anymore...! I won't let my friends down!' Chris thought, the surge of inspiration and courage racing along through his body.
"Sonic and the others need our help and we've gotta do it!" The twelve year old boy grunted in agreement.
"Get out of my way, brats!"
The sudden command from the enraged voice of Robotnik bellowed, spoken through the speakers like the echoes of evil monsters above, startling the trio to swiftly turn their heads over their shoulders, Tails, Amy and Chris releasing collective scream of panic, as the Eggsterminator soared past them, the powerful altitude gusts from the giant robot's descent nearly sending the X Tornado periling through the darkened sky, the children clinging on for dear life with the young kitsune once more struggling against the uncontrollable currents.
Still playing around with his captives, Julius' wicked, monstrous smirk grew, the giant villain soon began delivering severe punches and blows, each overwhelmingly powerful, eventually clutching at each heroes in both hands, increasing the pressure as he did with Sonic, all five of them badly beaten up with their strengths depliating in the accelerating rate that even the Chaotix could not even attack the man this time. They all struggled within the grasp, the weakened wriggling and squirming, their shifts doing nothing to set them free.
"PLAY TIME IS OVER, CHILDREN. ESPECIALLY FOR YOU, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY AGAIN," Julius chuckled, lifting the weakened hedgehog, trapped alone in the right hand, close to his face once more. "I HOPE YOU HAD TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR SO CALLED FRIENDS AND FAMILY..."
The giant Iron Leader soon thrust a powerful throw, carelessly tossing Knuckles, Rouge, Vector and Espio, their badly battered and beaten bodies flown across the fields, one by one landing with hard hits and rolls, tumbling over like wheels, agony and severe injuries engulfing their bodies, dirt flown as they finally came to a stop just in front of the rock the now horrified Topaz, Charmy, Cream and Cheese and the Chao all hid, each of them calling out their names.
Sonic in the meantime, seeing what has become of his friends, let out a horrified, soft but devastated gasp, shaken with his heart sinking into the core of his stomach, feeling a hole within his heart as though he had been impaled by the largest sword, his breathing quick and his throat squeezing cut which made it difficult for him to breathe.
"No...!" The blue hedgehog whispered, silently shaking his head in dismay. This couldn't be happening...It just couldn't! Desperation taking hold, he renewed his attempts, fighting through the squeezing pressure of the giant hands, the desire to protect his friends taking hold his very being.
Leaving no more time to destroy his enemy, Julius soon rose Sonic high into the air, the screams from the hedgehog like a sweet, soft lullaby in his ears, thrusting him into the ground, cracks ripping the ground apart, crunches echoing in the thickness, dust flying. The giant repeated this with Sonic trapped in his grasp, the hero of Mobius' cries of agony, his vision soon disorientated and fuzzy, his head woozy and swimming as though someone had filled his mind with water, drowning his brain, his consciousness slipping away at each punch, his body battered with brusises and cuts, the evil man's laughter being the only thing to fill the atsmosphere.
Eventually, Julius soon paused in his brutal beating, his palm flat and on top of the fourteen year old, Sonic barely conscious and far too weak to even move, lying on his back, badly and heavily hurt. His breathing was ragged, barely escaping, his chest weakly lifting.
"J-Julius...How could you...do this?" Sonic struggled to say, his vision swimming.
Yet, despite his weakened, battered state, the teenage hero refused to let this end. His strong will, his heart's pure desire, memories of his happiest times with his friends and family, rushing through his mind like a wave of positive light, bright as the stars above, kept his spirit alive.
The Iron Leader's ugly grin never ceased or faded, plucking the hedgehog by his quills with two fingers, holding the limp form of the hero to his face once more. Those who had witnessed, including the other heroes who had been heavily beaten themselves, shared a collective expression and heartache of horror. Even Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe were not immune to the sight of Sonic the Hedgehog's current position.
"SOOOOOONNNNNIC!" Amy screamed, her heart shattering as she, Tails, who had finally managed to reposition the X Tornado, secretly hovering over the giant human, and Chris all couldn't believe the gravity and sheer, horrible power displayed by their greatest enemy yet.
Julius continued to chuckle, the sensation of victory and triumph crawling along his entire body which soon formatted a haunting, shadow misty aura of darkness, before he simply engulfed Sonic fully within his grasp, his hand swallowing the teenager in a tightening grip, preparing to squash him to death like a helpless, small grape made to be turned into juice. Strained and weakened from the continuous beating, the fourteen year old pushed hard to try and prevent himself from being squashed, his heart racing, sweat bullets pouring along his face like a trickling stream, whimpers threatening to emerge in his throat.
"That does it! I've had enough of that monster's twice as evil ways!" Robotnik growled, the sudden pang of uneasiness sweeping across his own evil soul, memories of all of his attempts to destroy Sonic racing through his mind, yet at times the hedgehog teen would always emerge victorious.
In spite of the pleasant sight to see the fourteen year old finally meet his demise, the evil scientist felt the unfairness of it. If any one was going to have the pleasure in taking out Sonic one day, it would be Robotnik himself, and nobody else!
"GET HIM, EGGSTERMINATOR!" The giant robot obeyed his command, it's landing shaking the land in a trembling quake, the thunderous impact that nearly made everyone, even Julius who, blinking out of his concentration to kill the blue hedgehog, nearly lose their balance. When the evil giant cast his gaze upward, his eyes narrowed upon the sight of the Eggsterminator, his vision cast solely upon the three pilots within, especially towards the man who shared his blood.
"I THOUGHT YOU WOULD SHOW YOUR WEAK, PATHETIC FACE, IVO. YOU DARE TO COME CHALLENGE ME?" Julius grunted, a dark frown of annoyance and disappointment etching his face.
Despite the sounds of the outside world all muffled, Sonic could hear the unmistakable sounds of the giant robot's engines, the voice spoken through the speakers, bewilderment etching on his face. "Eggman?"
"You think you can take over MY world, you murderous fiend!" Ivo snapped in return, his hands clutched tightly, nearly making his palms bleed at the furious pressure. "You murdered our father, cast me aside, put a shame on the family name, abusing the power of the Chaos Emeralds which will soon destroy you even if you keep using Mobians as your balance counter-power, eventually not even they will save you, because that power will soon become immune and waste away your body!"
His brother simply scoffed, once more juggling the brutally injured and yelping Sonic absently like a toy. "I HAVE ALL THE POWER IN THE WORLD, BROTHER. NO ONE, NOT EVEN YOU OR THE FOOLISH SONIC THE HEDGEHOG WILL DEFEAT ME. ALL WILL BE MINE!"
"Not in your life, because this time I'm going to do what you did to my father! You're no brother of mine! You never were!" Robotnik snarled, leaning forward. "And nobody gets to destroy Sonic but me: Dr. Ivo Robotnik!"
Without waiting for another thought, Robotnik commanded the Eggsterminator to attack, the giant robot charging at full power and speed with all of it's engines and energy, thrusting a powerful punch right at Julius who once more clutched Sonic, having no intentions on letting him go, simply tilting to the side, catching the strong, metal fist within his free hand, the power of the Chaos Emeralds, the Master Emerald, and Vanilla, her screams weakening, her body slumping even more forward, the sheer agony of her Chaos Energy slipping through her life-force, empowering him. Stunned and horrified, the evil scientist attempted to have his robot grasp at his brother's chest, but even with the hedgehog within his grasp, Julius punched the hand with ease, metal skin shattering, wiring and circuits split and sparking with electricity like splinters flying everywhere.
"Egad! NO! The controls are malfunctioning!" Robotnik screamed, warning sirens blaring, red lights flashing. His heart hammered at the increasing sudden fear of already losing this massive battle, his mind whirling with an inner voice screaming at him that not even his robot could defeat Julius.
True to his fears, Julius simply ripped the other arm off, forcing the Eggsterminator to stumble back.
"NOOOOOOO!" Chris screamed, seeing how Sonic was close in being crushed to death, desperation taking hold, unbuckled himself, opening the windshield before, once close enough, made the daring leap straight down towards Julius who was distracted enough to ignore the twelve year old boy, leaped out.
"No, Chris!" Tails and Amy screamed, too late to stop their friend.
"NOOO!" Cream, echoing Chris' fears and, feeling the surge of devastation, her heart pounding loudly in her mind and long ears, refused to watch on any longer.
The intense struggle within Topaz's arms, and with Cheese, his little body glowing light like a fire-fly, his own little heart pounding, his chime-like high-pitched squeal absorbed into the air, she successfully removed herself and with her precious Chao, along with the Chao from the destroyed Colony, their eyes widened, sorrow filling their faces upon seeing Sonic the Hedgehog, their hero who had saved their home from the contamination of the mud, having fought on fearlessly to rescue them from Julius' clutches, all exchanged a glance and a nod, all took to the skies straight towards the two friends in danger, much to the shock of everyone else witnessing.
"AH! Cream, no!" Vector exclaimed, horrified.
"They're just little squirts!" Knuckles exclaimed, dumbfounded.
The young Thorndyke gritted his teeth, the winds blowing against his skin, ruffling his hair in the strong gusts, arms and legs spread. He successfully landed onto Julius' left shoulder, where the compartment holding the Chaos Emeralds were held, a startled gasp escaping his lips when Cream and all of the Chao including Cheese quickly arrived.
"Cream! Cheese!" Chris cried out, shocked upon seeing his youngest friends by his side.
"We've got to help Sonic! I won't let him go away because of that mean Mr. Julius anymore!" Cream exclaimed, her eyes narrowed, glittering of the mixed determination and bravery, inspiration over Sonic's heroics seeping deep into her.
While Chris felt scared for the little girl's safety, he knew that she was right. With a nod of agreement, and Cheese chirping to his kind in their known language, his words pressing on with the full desire to save Sonic as well as Vanilla, the wild Chao nodding in agreement. Soon they all grasped at the seven Chaos Emeralds, this movement noticed by Julius who, feeling the slightly tickling movement on his shoulder, gazed just in time to see them all pull hard, their screams of agony with the powers reacting into a painful sensation, burns creeping into their hands except for Cream, who, surrounded by the Chao, focused on saving her mother and big brother-figure.
"NO! WHAT ARE YOU BRATS DOING!?" Julius roared, fury burning through his heart, the movement of his emeralds being removed distracting his focus as he unconsciously opened his hand, releasing Sonic who now fell freely towards the ground with alarmed cries.
By the time Chris, Cream and Cheese removed the Chaos Emeralds alongside four other Chao, their collective gasps of horror filled the air once more as they witnessed the blue hedgehog descending towards the ground. Yet before Julius, determined to recapture those who had attempted to steal his prizes, Cheese and all of the Chao, refusing to allow their friends to become part of the evil man's twisted goals, formatted a circle around the duo, who both blinked in confusion with the Chaos Emeralds in their arms. Their stumpy little arms raised, all of the precious, adorable creatures, six of them glowing bright as the brightest star in the sky, transformed into more Hero Chao, the Chaos Emeralds also glowing even brighter as an orb of light formed, lifting them all before they flew straight out of the path of Julius' grasp.
"HUH!?" Julius gasped, witnessing this unusual event unfold, as the orb quickly flew straight towards Sonic, who nearly reached the ground until his friends' shield absorbed him into it's safe protection.
"Sonic!" Chris and Cream both exclaimed, horrified upon the sight of their older friend's injuries, being far worse than either have imagined, the former holding the blue hedgehog, ignoring the hissing, burning pain in his palms, cradled within his arms.
"Tch...Ngh...C-Chris?" The cobalt hedgehog winced, the warmth and security of his human friend's arms cradling his battered body seeped through his core, one eye strained, heavy like weights, peeped open. He soon noticed more slight blurs, the sight of his youngest friends also seen. "Cream...Cheese?"
"Chao..." Cheese mournfully chirped, gently caressing Sonic's face with his stumpy, little hand, tears swelling within his eyes, his lips trembling in the guilt and sorrow to see his hedgehog friend in such a state. With a nod of determination, wishing to save Sonic while knowing that the blue hero was the only one able to save them all, he rose his hands up into the air as the orb carried them all to safety, while the seven Chaos Emeralds' glow grew, as did the hedgehog's body.
Stunned by this event, Chris and Cream could only watch as Sonic briefly lost consciousness, yet also subconsciously began to absorb the Chaos Emeralds' powers.
For the hero of Mobius himself, fully unaware with guilt sweeping through his heart like a flood drowning it, deep within his subconsciousness, he was floating aimlessly, near-lifeless in the abyss of nothing but white.
"Sonic...Sonic..."
"H-Huh...?" Heavily exhausted over the brutal beating, feeling the sensation of no movement, the fourteen year old, hearing the familiar, gentle and sweet angelic-like voice, soft as a lullaby, echo his name, Sonic slowly opened his eyes, his blurry vision clearing to see the familiar figure of a Mobian rabbit, identical to Cream and Vanilla, yet she was wearing a pink, puffy dress, her smile as warm as the sunlight, gently reaching out to him.
"Sonic...It's going to be alright. Please, do not give up, young hedgehog," The rabbit woman whispered, her warm, smooth hand caressing his left cheek. "Save the world, save my family, our family...Sonic the Hedgehog."
"C-Camelia?" Sonic weakly asked. He wasn't sure how or why, his tired mind groggy, a faint relief filled his heart, his vision seemingly playing tricks on him, as he could also picture a small, little girl identical to Cream, simultaneously hovering within the older figure.
They both then disappeared, and in their place was a familiar what Chao, the Hero Chao, one whom Sonic knew, his eyes widening in shock, to be Clover.
The Ghost Chao nodded once he spoke his name, flying around the blue hedgehog's body, a glimmer of light like a trail of sparkles of pixie dust. The particles dissipated within the teenager's body, in that instant he felt re-energized, his wounds and injuries fading away, as though they weren't there to begin with. Realization and renewed determination seeping into his soul, Sonic's eyes narrowed, clutching his fists tightly.
In the burst of light, Sonic focused on he knew what he had to do. To save his friends.
In the sense of feeling the familiar, warm sunlight like energy glow into him, in that instant he felt re-energized, his wounds and injuries fading away, as though they weren't there to begin with. Realization and renewed determination seeping into his soul, Sonic's now fully opened eyes, snapping open narrowed, clutching his fists tightly. Amazement crossed over the younger children's expressions.
A roar of fury bellowed, Julius, his focus gained onto the true cause of the distraction of losing not just Sonic or Cream, but also the Chaos Emeralds, made no attempts to hold back on his still incredible strength, still having enough power by the source of the Master Emerald and Vanilla, thrusting his fist right through the torso of the Eggsterminator, ripping through it's seemingly impossible shield, now vulnerable by the mad giant's wrath.
"Doctor, the Eggsterminator has lost all power and engines!" Decoe exclaimed, panicking.
"This is not good," Bocoe murmured, his optic gaze at the terrified Robotnik, "What do we do now?"
Robotnik was sweating, the sheer terror and horrific realization he had taken a step way too far, in his haste to stop his brother, he has only submitted himself into his own doom. He had no time to respond, as the looming figure of the giant Julius towered before them, prompting the evil scientist and his robots to scream, just as Julius easily smashed the windshield, grasping the mad doctor in his left hand in a tightening grip, before finishing off the giant robot and sending it towards the mountain range, easily destroyed and exploding in a matter of seconds. Decoe and Bocoe were flown right out of it, screaming away as they vanished into the night sky in a twinkle.
Screaming a high-pitched squeal like a ghost, Robotnik's fearful gaze stared directly into the terrible visions of Julius, the giant's fury and sickening satisfaction only grew, his grip only tightening to squeeze the life out of the evil scientist who grunted in the discomfort of pain, his bones beginning to creak, his muscles pushed to their limit.
"YOU TRULY ARE THE SECOND-RATED SCIENTIST, BROTHER. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS DAY, TO FINALLY END YOUR PATHETIC LITTLE LIFE, AND ONCE I'M DONE WITH YOU, SONIC WILL SOON FOLLOW." Julius snarled, the darken chuckle growing within his throat.
"E-Er...Can...we...talk about this?" Robotnik stuttered, his heart hammering, pounding within his hearts, the sheer realization of his upcoming impending doom looming, his life flashing before his eyes.
"OH WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT, IVO EGGMAN...TO YOUR DEATH," The evil giant's grin only grew, his free hand raise with a flick of his wrist, an energized blade sharp as a sword materalizing, splitting to resemble to a pair of scissors, edged close with the horrified Robotnik's upper half trapped in the middle. "GIVE OUR FATHER MY REGARDS...GOODBYE, BROTHER."
"NO! Please! I b-beg you! You can't do this!" The evil scientist began to sweat, his pleads falling to deaf ears, the two blades of dark Chaos Energy slowly creeping closer and closer to cut him like a piece of paper. "Nooooo!"
Yet, before his giant brother could even speak even further or begin to kill the helpless evil scientist, a flash of light caught the two brothers' and soon everyone else's attentions, all swiftly turning their gaze towards the orb that withheld Sonic and some of his friends, eyes widened of the collective awe as it faded.
The light's fade revealing Cream, Chris and all of the Chao who hovered around them, and in the very middle, was a golden figure of Sonic, except he has undergone a transformation: His cobalt fur now shining with gold, his quills carved upward by the overwhelming power of the Chaos Emeralds, and his eyes shifting from his emerald green to a ruby red.
"WHAT!?" Julius exclaimed, shocked by Sonic's sudden transformation.
"Oh no...Not this again." Robotnik groaned, realization dawning onto him as he knew what this meant.
Those on the ground and still in the air gaped simultaneously, Tails, Amy and Knuckles all coming to the same conclusion as they had witnessed the never-ceasing amazing event upon their now former cobalt friend. The Chaotix, Rouge and Topaz mesmorized by the hedgehog's transformation.
"Whoa! Is that...?" Charmy breathed in awe.
"Yes...Sonic has absorbed the power of the Chaos Emeralds, thus transforming him into..." Espio nodded, astonished by the amazing mythical sight, having been told of the legends of the Chaos Emeralds as a child. But to actually witness the legend come true, it was beyond anything he has ever seen.
"...Super Sonic!" Chris breathed, correctly assuming the amazing outcome.
Sonic, now transformed into Super Sonic, cast his firm but still gentle expression towards his younger friends, a soft, warm smile matching his golden aura flowing with positive energy, responding with a soft nod, holding out his hand to them, a small spark of golden aura, light as pixie dust, flow from his palm and onto Chris and Cream's bodies, instantly healing their injuries, which soon flowed towards all of his battered friends, most gaping in shock at their newly healed bodies. He then turned to the Chao, their chirps chimed with the music of relief, melting his heart with relief and gratitude.
"Thanks, guys. You take Cream and Chris to Tails and the others. I'll take care of the rest." Super Sonic gratefully caressed Cheese and another Chao's heads, his warm energy comforting like a blanket.
Despite the hesitation to let the hero of Mobius finish his work, Cheese and the Chao shared a collective nod of determination, allowing the hedgehog to free himself from the orb, while the little small, creatures used their energy to carry the human and little rabbit, despite their protests, safely towards the rest of their friends. Super Sonic in the meantime instantly bashed right at Julius' head, a roar of the sudden pain sending a jolt of burning light like he had been staring at the Light bulb far too long and being burned by the fireplace, his dark blades vanishing in sparkles without a trace, Sonic's newly powerful form gripping without effort, snatching the screaming Robotnik who fell once his giant brother lost his grip and forcing Julius to raise his arms to shield himself.
"You measly little hedgehog! I almost had him!" Robotnik ranted, anger over the loss of his opportunity just as he then yelped when Sonic dropped him onto the ground unceremonily.
"Sorry, Buttnik, but you should at least be grateful that I saved ya'. Leave your crazy brother to me. I'm goin' to rescue Cream's mom and save the world." Super Sonic crossed his arms, annoyance creeping along his features.
Without waiting for a response from his nemesis, the golden hedgehog whirled around once more, of a divine athlete, soaring into the air towards the now enraged Julius, hovering in a safe short distance between them both.
"Watch out, Julius! It's you and me on!" Super Sonic declared.
The giant man's eyes narrowed, the mere sight of the teenage hero now having gained his Super form, his glow as bright as the purest star within the sky, the beacon of hope to end the darkness and despair.
The time has come for the ultimate showdown!

A/N: Okay, I confess. I thought I had it all sorted out with this final battle, but the more I wrote and tried to avoid in making it rushed, the more I realized it was getting to the point where this is now a six-parter finale The next chapter will most certainly be the final part of the Cream and Cheese's arc, ending it all together and the side-arc and/or the next and final arc for this story will begin, and this scene will be extended somewhat.
When I'll be back for said chapter, maybe this month if I'm lucky, but it's hard to say at this stage, plus having to post the Christmas story I planned on for a while now. If not, then the final part of this arc will be sometime in January.
