A Mad and Curious Meeting
A police car was parked around the corner of an alley next to a bakery. Instead of cops, two boys wearing different getups were inside. Along with a few animals that are a black crow with a small hat, color-changing chameleon, and an orange fox in a green mask. One looked like a black and white scarecrow with red eyes while the other looked like a purple futuristic hooded DJ. Both were boys and seemed to be around sixteen years of age.
While there were no cops inside the vehicle, two adults were outside guarding it. One of them suddenly heard a noise and brought his weapon up.
"Freeze!" A policeman Katz yelled, with his female partner McQueen following his lead.
Just then, a new figure came out of the bakery holding a box before signaling the two to unlock the car. They did that, after lowering their weapons, and helped the figure get in.
"Sorry for the long wait, guys. Had to be super careful using my uncle's mind-controlling chips on the bakery guy in getting what I asked for free," the teen boy that just arrived explained, putting his jacket, top hat, and mask back on before petting the fox. "I hope Spade didn't give you a hard time while I was gone."
"Not at all." One of the boys said. "But you're not going to believe what just showed up a minute before you came. Take a look."
After looking, the third boy that arrived stared in complete shock at what was in front of them. A familiar advanced vehicle that is bat-themed.
"No…way…," the boy with the top hat muttered. "Scarecrow, is this really what I think it is?"
The boy called Scarecrow nodded his head. "Yep. Techno-Tune and I couldn't believe it either. We even saw the Dark Knight himself get out of the car and run in a hurry stopping who knows what. Left the Batmobile right over there in front of us."
"Should we try... taking it out for a spin, Hatter?" The DJ theme bad boy called Techno-Tune questioned. "Scarecrow and I wanted to wait for you before going ahead."
"Opportunities like this come once in a lifetime, my friends," The Young Hatter replied, unable to stop smiling. "And in this case...you just got to get inside, turn that key, and see how fast this Bandersnatch baby can go!"
"Good. Cause I always wanted to shred the road with that awesome car!" Techno-Tune said.
After being in agreement, the group and their animals were released from the police car by the brainwashed police officers and hurried over to the Batmobile. But not before Hatter stopped to look over at the cops.
"Thank you for your time on transportation, officers Katz and McQueen. In two or so minutes, you may return to your posts and be free the moment we leave out of your sights," the young Mad Hatter boy commanded gently and nobly, nodding his head while touching his hat. "If we ever need another ride, then I'll be sure to summon you again next time."
Getting their instructions, the two officers went back to their car and stayed there. The dressed-up Hatter then ran with his fox to join his friends…who already opened the vehicle involving an advanced arrow to get inside.
"Hit the gas, Techno-Tune!" Mad Hatter exclaimed with excitement.
"You got it," Techno-Tune replied, already having his foot on the accelerator and going fast.
The boys shrieked with thrills as much as their animal companions when going full speed in the Batmobile. They drove all over Gotham City enjoying every second of it.
"I've never felt so alive!" Techno-Tune said, sticking his head in the air while jamming some massive vibrational tunes.
"Frabjous Day, Callooh Callay!" Mad Hatter screamed happily, laughing all the way while holding on to his hat to keep it from flying off.
"I hope this night never ends!" Scarecrow yelled at the top of his lungs, a sentiment his two friends shared.
The pets were having fun themselves. The chameleon was changing colors depending on Techno-Tune's music beats, the crow with the small straw hat cawed while flapping her wings, and the fox howled while sticking her head out of the car.
Eventually, the boys stopped somewhere around a forest area near exiting Gotham City.
"Woo! YEAH! Do I know how to give my best friend an unbirthday experience or what?" Hatter asked, jumping out of the Batmobile with his fox doing the same. "Let's take a few quick pictures of us with the Dark Knight's vehicle before he resummons it back to him or whatever."
"Definitely!" Scarecrow said, quickly getting in the driver's seat with his crow on his shoulder. "Someone take a picture of me and Dorothy looking like I'm driving the Batmobile!"
"Hey! Why do you get to be in the driver's seat when I literally drove the Batmobile?!" Techno-Tune argued.
"Let him have his turn, Techno-Tune," Mad Hatter replied, patting his DJ friend's shoulder. "We'll all take turns having a picture of one of us appearing we're driving the Batmobile and then do a group photo selfie with the vehicle behind us."
After some agreement, the boys took many selfies of themselves with the Batmobile using an old-school instant camera that developed different flat pictures developed with the flash on. The young Hatter took a good group picture to keep and smiled. It had not just the three of them, but also their animal companions.
"Scratch another activity off our list of things to do before we're twenty-one," Hatty replied, bringing out his notepad to do that and placing the picture inside. "'Hijack the Batmobile and go on a wild joyride'? Check! I knew taking Green Arrow's Router Arrow would be useful later."
"I got to hand it to you, buddy. I didn't think we'd end up riding the Batmobile after getting the cake from the bakery," Scarecrow admitted, carrying a box holding the cake with his crow on top of his shoulder. "What were the odds of Batman parking across the street from where we just parked the police car?"
"In Gotham City, anything is possible," The young Hatter stated, taking his pocket watch to check the time. "Speaking of which, we better not be late for the real unbirthday party that's going to start soon."
"Oh, yeah, we better get back home then before anyone sees us," Techno-Tune said. He then looked at the Batmobile. "How's about we use the Batmobile to get back fast?!" He suggested.
Scarecrow gasped with excitement on the idea before turning to his Hatter friend. "Can we?!"
"Come on, guys, you know very well why we can't take it home for ourselves. Batman can track us with the Batmobile and discover us immediately," Hatty reasoned, as he went to get something off the vehicle. "Good thing I came prepared in taking Jervis Tetch's old teleporting machine. Just needs a little power boost to turn on."
"And how do you suppose to give it juice?" Scarecrow asked, curious.
"Simple. With the power of my special weapon powered by my emotions."
The Hatter in Training brought out his staff holding a crystal that he had pointed at the machine before glowing green with energy.
"Whoa! This is so cool!" Techno-Tune said.
"I hope this doesn't take us somewhere too unpleasant," Scarecrow said while looking weary.
"Don't worry, Scarecrow. From where we're going, your party is going to have what you like," the young Hatter assured. "Scary yet fun, big for loud music acoustics, and above all...oddball friends aka us. Especially now that we got your favorite scary chocolate-flavored cake."
Around charging it, after admitting his kindness to Scarecrow, Hatter didn't notice his crystal glowing purple where that energy transferred to the machine.
Scarecrow then noticed the staff changing color. "Uh, Hatter? …Your staff!"
The young Hatter observed his staff and noticed the color change to purple. "What?" He asked in confusion.
"Uh, is it supposed to do that?" Techno-Tune asked, not liking that major static glow coming around it.
"No, I don't think so," the young Hatter replied. Suddenly, an energy search spread all over the boys forming and their pets some kind of bubble as they were beginning to transport.
"I don't think I like the looks of this!" Techno-Tune spoke up in concern.
"Me, too! And I'm shaking with fear, which is saying something!" Scarecrow shouted. "What's happening?!"
"I don't know! Hang on!" The young Hatter exclaimed, feeling his friends and pets hold on to him.
The boys screamed as they were transported away in a purple flash of light, leaving only the Batmobile behind in the forest.
Where did they go? We shall see. :)
