Neb: I do not own Beyblade, Beyblade Burst, or any other titles of Beyblade. This is a story about my OC Sin Venger and this chapter is about Sin and her brother Domori Venger. We are getting close to the upcoming battle of Domori vs Sin, but old grudges must be settled first and their are rules to the competitive world of Beyblade. They may face each other yet in the tournament. But Domori must settle the score with Lui before he can go after Valt, Aiger, and his sister. Not to mention Sin must settle the scores with Hyde, Norman, and Quon. Not to mention she had lost multiple rounds against the former wielder of her Bey Shu, but we'll get to that soon enough. For now I hope you all enjoy the story.
As Domori Venger headed back to his house he felt as though eyes were on him. He was familiar with this feeling as he often felt anxious when returning home after blading with others. He doubted that any of his opponents had grudges however. Back then when he was just a kid using Quality Drake there was lots of animosity and envy from the other bladers in his neighborhood because of his perfect defense, but blading was getting boring back then. He didn't know how satisfying it was to crush his opponents until he switched to his aggressive attack type Mighty Draconids. "Then again, had I been blading against Legends when I had Quality Drake, it probably would have been more fun," Domori figured. He made his way to the front door and then was surprised to see another boy with white hair stepping out of his house. "Shu Kurenai," Domori figured.
"Domori Venger," Shu responded. "Valt told me a lot about you."
"Hopefully he hadn't given all of my tricks away," Domori smiled. "Did you come here for a battle?"
"No.. not with you anyways," Shu admitted. "Maybe another time."
"So you came here for Sin," Domori figured. "She did take your Legend Spriggan after all."
"She didn't take it," Shu defended her. "She found it, it's hers now."
"It doesn't matter who's it is," Domori shook his head. "Your Legend Spriggan had a better build for a Balance Type beyblade than the one my sister came up with. Halberd Spriggan is good on paper and sure, it's hidden blade can catch opponents off guard, but as soon as your opponent knows what your going to do, gimmicks don't work anymore."
"She put more than just a hidden dagger in it," Shu pointed out. "But I won't worry about it, she's already working on her next evolution."
"Already?", Domori responded. "Hadn't she been on a winning streak though?"
"Unfortunately no," Shu sighed. "Her strong resonance had been carrying her this whole time. But when she started facing others with strong resonance, Halberd Spriggan was coming up short. So I gave her some tips on how to improve Spriggan. Now it's up to her to see where she takes it."
Domori glared at Shu but then nodded. "I hope your advice is enough." Domori headed past Shu before he was grabbed by the shoulder.
"Don't battle her yet," Shu instructed. "She needs time to get use to her new build. You've had time to practice with Draconids."
"Don't you think I already know that?", Domori scoffed before pulling away from him and shutting the door.
Shu walked away from the house and then sighed. "I know your there Valt. Come out."
Valt and Aiger stepped out of the bushes grinning at Shu who smiled back.
"Why are you following Domori?", Shu wondered.
"We were just finding out where he lives," Valt explained. "We wanted to find out why Domori and Sin had so much aggression towards each other. I mean, outside of sibling rivalry of course."
"Hmmm," Shu thought for a moment. "I didn't really get much info out of Sin about her brother, but she did truly want to defeat him in battle. I figured that was her love for the sport though."
"It's not," Valt shook his head. "Domori stated she gave up on the sport a long time ago because she thought it was boring. It wasn't until she found your Spriggan did she care about the game."
"That's still good though," Aiger pointed out. "It doesn't matter why she loves the sport as long as she does."
"There is a darkness looming over her," Shu sighed. "The same one that consumed Aiger and I."
"Her drive for victory had been turning her into Spriggan huh," Aiger figured. "Does she feel Spriggan's pain when she battles?"
"She seemed pretty beat up when she faced me," Shu explained. "Fighting Orochi and Zac had taken a lot out of her and then Quon simply delivered the killing blow right after. She stopped connecting to Spriggan after that."
"So then she might find the good resonance after all," Valt smiled.
"Maybe," Shu nodded. "I'm less optimistic though. What about Domori? Does he feel the pain of Draconids when he battles?"
Valt shook his head surprising Shu and Aiger. "It's something else," Valt explained. "He doesn't believe he's Draconids, but he definitely doesn't act like himself all the time."
"Valt thinks there's multiple sides to him," Aiger pointed out.
"Multiple sides huh," Shu repeated. "When he start showing signs of that?"
"I don't know when it started," Valt begun. "But I think the obvious guess was when he was locked in his mom's refrigerated walk in."
"So the trauma is what caused his sides to split," Shu agreed. "That doesn't explain why he was triggered when Sin challenged him however."
The three of them thought for a moment and then Aiger smiled. "Let's just go ask their parents. You said their mom works in a restaurant, let's go find out where."
The three of them nodded to each other before heading off.
Venger's Fresh Takoyaki restaurant was completely packed. Servers were all over the floor and their were customers at every table.
"Sorry," a hostess called out to the trio as they entered the restaurant. "I will be with you as soon as I can." The hostess was helping buss tables.
"Domori and Sin's mom is the head chef of this place," Aiger analyzed. "It's packed!"
"My family use to go here," Shu pointed out. "But now in days they are always packed, people would have to wait hours to get a table if they don't reserve one in advance."
"Well hopefully Chef Venger isn't too busy to talk to us," Valt nodded. The three of them pushed through the crowd and headed towards the kitchen.
"Heads up," a food runner called out as he exited the kitchen with a tray full of plates. "Please don't block the kitchen door kids, the hostess will be with you as soon as a space opens up."
"Sorry about that," Aiger apologized.
"Perhaps now isn't the best time," Shu admitted. "We should try their father instead."
The other two sighed and then nodded.
Domori and Sin's father works as an engineer who assists in the design of cars. Specifically it's his job to find flaws in every vehicle's blueprints that gets sent to his office. Much like Domori and Sin's mother, Mr. Venger wasn't anywhere to be seen.
The trio of bladers where pointed towards his office from the lady at the front desk, but they waited a good hour before they were let into his office.
"Sorry about that," Mr. Venger apologized with a bow. "It's been a hectic month and I have deadlines to get my paperwork in to the ceo. Not to mention I have meetings set up all day with the other managers and engineers."
"It's ok," Valt waved it away. "We actually came here to talk to you about your children."
"Domori and Sin?", Mr. Venger responded. "I heard Domori had returned from Spain, I'm quite disappointed I haven't got a chance to say hi to him yet. I hope he isn't upset with me."
"Well that's just it," Shu explained. "We wanted some info on Domori and Sin's relationship with each other? Do you know of any hidden rivalries between the two of them?"
"Hidden rivalry?", Mr. Venger questioned. "Are you three only childs?"
"No," Valt and Aiger responded.
"Then you would be aware that kids can get competitive from time to time," Mr. Venger smiled. "It's nothing to worry about."
"My younger siblings mess with me, but it's not that way when we play Beyblade," Valt sighed. "Of course they want to win, but there's no animosity."
"My sister doesn't really compete with me," Aiger pointed out. "Despite how I always try to do things on my own, she's usually always there helping me. At first I found it annoying, but now not so much."
"There's no animosity between my kids," Mr. Venger shook his head. "They are just very focused. They always have been. I'll admit, after I had gotten promoted I've been seeing less of them lately, but I can assure you both my kids are some of the healthiest children in the world. Domori started working for my sister at a young age, because he picked up an interest in fixing watches. He also helped out at his mother's resteraunt from time to time when they were really busy and he put that money to good use and started traveling the world. He's got a strong will and is a hard worker. Sin is similar in her work ethics. Though she hadn't picked up any paying jobs, she had been practicing running every day ever since she was a small child because of her dream to run marathons around the world."
"What about when Domori was locked in your wife's walk in?" Shu pushed. "Did anything at all seem different about his behavior?"
"For goodness sake's kid, that's a touchy subject," Mr. Venger grunted. "Of course he was scared, who wouldn't be. At the end of the day he said he was fine."
"Mr. Venger, the CEO is on line one," a woman's voice called out from Mr. Venger's desk.
Mr. Venger pressed a button responded. "Thank you Su." He sighed and then looked back up to them. "I'm sorry, I have to take this. But I am happy to know my kids have friends that care about them. Please swing by our house anytime, don't be strangers."
With that the trio were sent out of Mr. Venger's office.
"Well that was a bust," Aiger admitted. "We didn't get a chance to talk to their mom and their dad doesn't see any changes in his kids. Has he even been watching Sin's streams? She's shown lots of signs of animosity towards her brother."
"Not to mention his response about Domori being locked in the walk in refrigerator wasn't one I would have expected," Shu pointed out. "You'd think a parent would be more concerned with their kid's health after something like that happened, but he assumed Domori just powered through it."
"Guess we're back to square one," Valt sighed.
"So you three are the ones asking about my family," a woman spoke up behind them. She wore a yellow coat and wore glasses, she had brown hair like Domori and Sin. "I'm their aunt Paula Venger," she explained.
"How did you know we were asking about your kids?", Valt wondered.
"The hostess back at my sister in law's restaurant pointed out there were kids my nephew and niece's age trying to break into the kitchen when they couldn't find a seat. I figured you were probably friends of Sin and Domori."
"We just had a few questions," Shu admitted. "Sin and Domori don't seem to be in the best headspace right now and we were hoping one of their relatives could shed light on the situation."
"And have you figured out why?", Paula asked.
The three of them looked down and said nothing.
"It goes beyond simple sibling rivalry as you've all probably guess. Domori and Sin had pretty much been on their own at a young age. Their mother became a head chef of a restaurant that's always packed from eight in the mourning to twelve at night. Their father had been buried in his paperwork for as longs as they can remember as well. It's not that their parents don't want to see them, but they are more concerned with providing for their family then actually being with their family. That's why I stepped in. I helped their kids get to school on time and was always there to babysit and tutor them. I even gave them their first beyblades so they could build a strong connection with each other and never be alone."
"But that's not how that turned out," Shu pointed out.
Paula shook her head. "No, the exact opposite happened. Domori got competitive with the game and would do anything to make sure Quality Drake was the best blade in the neighborhood. Sin gave up early and put her Arrow Stag away. Without someone to compete against Domori begun to fall apart." She sighed as she grabbed her head. "My brother can be shortsighted when it comes to his kids' health. Instead of being their to help Domori grow as a blader he built a backyard stadium for Domori and a machine that can automatically launch beyblades that are loaded into it. But Domori didn't need a machine, he needed someone who loved the game as much as he did. So his mother pointed him to one of her friend's kid's beyblade club the Beyblasters so he could be with like minded kids."
"But they weren't," Valt realized.
Paula shook her head again. "Every kid in town responded the same way that Sin did when facing Domori. He became so good at the game the other kids didn't want to face him. That's when I noticed his change."
The three of them listened intently.
"Domori was complaining to me a while back that all the other kids didn't truly care about the game," she explained. "He stated that they cared more afraid of losing than they cared about winning. That he shouldn't waste his time with bladers who couldn't get stronger. He was so close to finding someone else who actually loved the game to, when he entered his first local tournament."
"Lui," Valt nodded.
"You all know what happened after that," Paula sighed.
"He hurt himself in his mother's walk in," Aiger nodded. "That's when we thought his change would have occurred. We thought he was traumatized."
"If he was, he was good at hiding it," Paula figured. "He claimed that everything was fine when his parents and I came up to check on him. He even got two new friends to train and hang out with."
"Crystal and Komoto I guess," Shu figured.
"So you know them?"
"Not personally," Shu admitted. "But Sin had given me the details on his old friendships. Speaking of which have you noticed any changes in Sin?"
"Sin had definitely changed more recently than when they were kids," Paula answered. "I mean, when she was really small she craved everyone's attention, then as she got older she grew distant from others and started working on herself. That of course was acceptable, her parents and I couldn't have been more proud of her and how dedicated she was to her running. But when Domori left for Spain she developed an attitude. I think that's when Sin always assumed her family would be there for her if she needed them, but Domori leaving was when she realized we all couldn't be with her. I've tried talking to her, but she pushes me away and refuses to speak when I bring up Domori."
"Well what can we do to help them," Valt wondered and the group turned to him. "I mean, Sin inherited Spriggan and has had lots of great battles against our old friends and rivals, not to mention Domori had become my friend as well. Surely theirs something we can do?"
"You already are," Paula smiled. "You have both of them entering a tournament don't you?"
"You saw that," Valt smiled while rubbing the back of his head.
"The two of them will have no choice but to acknowledge each other after another battle. Just make sure they both give it their all and leave with no regrets, no matter who wins or loses."
"I like the sound of that," Aiger grinned. "Though if you ask me, I'm going to win the tournament."
"Not a chance," Valt smiled. "The winner is going to be me."
"I believe you are both wrong," Shu smirked. "It will be Spriggan and I who win this tournament."
The three of them grinned at each other and laughed.
Paula was confused for a moment, but then smiled. "Take care of them."
"We'll make sure they are never alone," Valt nodded. "Right guys."
"Right," Aiger and Shu nodded.
