"Please?"

"Ruby, no."

"Please?! Please?!"

"I said no! Absolutely not, young lady!"

"Pleeeeeaaaaassse?!" hid daughter clasped her hands together and held them up. "I'll never ask for anything else! I just want you to help me build my weapon!" When he tried to move past her, the little sprite zipped back into his path with a burst of chakra. "Just this once! You helped Yang build her gauntlets! And Neo with her sword! Why not me!"

"Because Yang's a brawler like me and I used a sword once. That's why." His brow furrowed. "You want a scythe. I don't use scythes. Go talk to Qrow. Or your mother."

"Mom went shopping!" the seven year old stomped a foot. "Uncle Qrow's busy with Robyn! They said something about making me an aunt...?"

Great. Now he couldn't unsee that.

...don't tell me. I don't want to know. I really don't." She pushed the schematics back into his hand and he considered them anew. "Why does this thing turn into a sniper rifle?" his brow furrowed. "And a missile launcher? It has too many forms. Settle for two, not nine. If you want something like this built you should ask Pietro."

"But you said a weapon made with chakra will last forever!"

"I did," he hedged, "But you're not ready for something like that." a hand tousled her dark hair. "Maybe when your older. Sorry."

He turned to leave.

"I'll learn the Rasengan!"

His legs all but rooted themselvs to the ground.

"You said you didn't want to learn that." he muttered, trying to keep the sting from his voice. He'd been so looking forward to passing down his knowledge to her, but she'd never shown the inclination. "You said you wanted to be a huntress like Summer, not a shinobi like me.

"I'll be both if you help me build this!" her eyes watered. "I'll learn everything! The sage arts, Rasengan, Rasenshuriken...all of it. I won't slack off ever again! So...please!"

...fine."

She crashed into him with a delighted shriek. "Best daddy ever!"

Naruto slapped a palm to his forehead.

"Best pushover, more like...
