A/N: Hi~! Just a real quick note for a friend up here before we get into the story, don't mind me. Oi! Queztlecoatl -Taka!- PM me, we can discuss that thing you mentioned about A03 further. We should be able to talk now.

I'll be waiting~!

As to this, you can consider this a...continuation of the very first fragment chapter in this little plot bin...blended with something else.

I'm really not feeling well these days, and the site seems to be going downhill with the trolls...sigh...

In other news, might update Archon soon. Dunno. My motivation's shot at the moment and I'm honestly feeling exhausted. Two jobs keep me busy to say the least, but recent things have just left me feeling...worn down.

But I love to write...so what happens when it feels like work?

So...here. A little something to tide you over while I ponder that question.

As ever, I own no references, quotes, themes or memes. Not a wit or a one! Lets all get along, eh?

Weapons

"Happy birthday!"

Illia facepalmed. "Master, why?"

Naruto quirked a brow. "Too much? Your mother was a little worried...

Oh gods, she didn't wanna upset mom. "No, no," he amended hastily, "Not to much, just...why?"

He smiled. "Well, you asked for it."

She considered the weapon case he'd offered her, and the thin weapon within. She'd only mentioned it a few times in passing; having expressed a desire to have a means to defend herself. If she'd known he was listening she would've been a bit more specific with her request.

Gingerly, she reached into the case and lifted it out.

A whip.

Her teacher, her instructor, one of the famed Weapon Masters of Remnant, had made her an honest to goodness whip. Oh, gods. She couldn't let Blake see this. She'd never live it down.

In hindsight, Mama probably did most of the forging, but she could feel the chakra within. It thrummed happily in her hands, almost as if it were alive. She gave it a cursory flick, testing the weight. That was absurd, of course. Weapons weren't alive. They didn't think or feel. They certainly didn't have-

"Hello~!" a strange, unfamiliar voice brushed the back of her mind. "Nice to meet you~!"

"Ack?!" Illia fumbled and nearly dropped her gift. "What was that?!"

Naruto quirked a brow. "What do you think it was?"

She considered the tool with wondering eyes.

...you did not give this thing a soul. There's no way. How did you put a soul in a weapon?!

"Well," Naruto whistled innocently. "Yours wasn't exactly the first; apparently forging with aura and chakra does funny things."

Illia balked.

"Do all of them have souls?!"

Tenten poked her head around the corner. "Yup!"

A/N: Just a little fragment for something that may or may not became a story. Makes me sad, that, but there's the truth of it.

So? What did you think of this little fragment? Did you enjoy it? Yes? No? Maybe so? Lemme know!

And once again, a message for my anonymous friend, Queztlecoatl -Taka!- PM me, we can discuss that thing you mentioned about A03 further. We should be able to talk now. I'll be waiting~!
