Kagome played with the hem of her sleeve, standing next to Sesshomaru. He eyed her, then grabbed her hand. "Enough,"

Behind him, Sango and Miroku stood; they looked at each other. After Miroku pulled Sango away, they found a hidden spot, and Sango told him every detail, at least the ones she knew. Miroku became most worried; Kagome wasn't going to just go along no matter how much she said she would, and he didn't blame her. They held onto hope that her humanity would actually come in handy; surely, they knew she could not abide by their customs and laws to the fullest, but judging by Sesshomaru and his mother, they planned on doing just that.

After their kiss, his mother came in and told them to save it. Time was up; the Lords were coming. Along with them, daughters, sons, nobles, too many demons, really.

"Isn't this a bit much?" Kagome asked,

"This is a big deal; the West till rise and dominate once again," His mother raised her nose higher. "They have come to witness it," She looked at Kagome. "And you,"

Sesshomaru inhaled a little harder than he meant to. "They have come to judge,"

He stood there, knowing they were there to judge. He had followed in his father's footsteps.

"Does it matter?" Kagome asked.

In truth, it didn't; he was far stronger than any of them, and the woman by his side wasn't helpless. He knew they would underestimate her, and he hoped she would put them all in their place. Pride actually washed over him, as did a sense of satisfaction. Not that he would admit it aloud to anyone. This could actually be fun, but then again he always did find war fun.

"Well, this is it," Sango breathed,

"This is war," Sesshomaru stated,

Kagome peeked up at him as the first set of Lords made their way up to them.

"My Lord, My lady," The Lords of the North and East bowed.

"Lord Sesshomaru and the Lady Shikon welcome you," His mother stated,

Their eyes landed on Kagome. "It is good to see you again, my Lady."

They tilted their noses up, bowed again, and walked away. Miroku and Sango bowed and opened the door for them, making themselves useful. Sesshomaru knew there would be questions about them as well.

"What was that?" Kagome leaned in and whispered,

His mother smirked,

Sesshomaru leaned slightly. "They still wish to see if you were a virgin,"

Kagome rolled her eyes. "And when are we going to take care of that," Because that was going to get old fast.

"You tell me, Miko?"

Kagome playfully slapped his arm. "Sesshomaru," She hissed, "Thats not what I meant, and you know it,"

"Quiet woman,"

More came before them and bowed.

It was going to be a long day, and Kagome decided she liked the other kind of war better.

After what seemed like hours and they all made their way to one grand open garden, table lined the place with food and drink though most did not require it.

So many were talking that you could not make out conversations, but he could pinpoint bits and pieces. Women gathered in small groups with whispers and giggles, watching him more than her, but he knew they were calculating.

Arm and arm, he leaned down again. "They are planning,"

She followed his eyes, "What?"

"An attack," But not the kind she was thinking. "This is war, remember, and you are my ally."

His eyes moved to the men; they two stood in groups, but their talk was vastly different; there was skepticism. Her virginity was going to be the biggest issue, and while he had not stated each day that he did not touch her was an insult to him, they would question it: him, his house, her. He was the alpha, and she was supposed to melt under his touch, and yet here she was, untouched.

He was pulled from these thoughts when one group of demoness came forward bowing, "May we borrow the Lady Miko from you, my Lord?"

He could not say no, and so they began to pull her away; Kagome looked at him wide-eyed. He tilted his head, and she blushed at the look he was giving her.

They would eye one another ever so often as they moved about the room, greeting people that neither of them really cared about.

"Well, how do we think it is going?"Miroku asked, coming to stand to the dog demon's mother.

She spared him a glance."Rather well actually, they are keeping an eye on each other; it has not gone unnoticed,"

Miroku relaxed a bit.

"Do not relax now, monk, the real test is tomorrow,"

She unfolded her arms,

"What is tomorrow,"

"Judgement day,"
