On Today's Episode: The spies find their way to Boy Candy's secret lair in hopes of stopping their big scheme, but Henya finds something that really disturbs her in the process of searching for information. What exactly has Henya so freaked out, and does it have something to do with the Society? And can the spies dismantle Boy Candy's concert plans before their comeback makes a mess of Beverly Hills?
Act 2: Concert of Calamity
3:48 P.M. – Boy Candy's Secret Lair
"All right, I'm getting bad vibes from this place already," Clover remarked once the spies had reached Boy Candy's secret lair. "Is anybody else getting bad vibes from this place already?"
"I think we all are, Clover," Haruka replied. "This place looks like it's seen better days."
"I wonder if it's got something to do with that spray stuff they made," Mat stated.
"I'm not detecting any of it nearby," Sam replied, using her X-Powder to scan the area.
"Hopefully something does come around later," Blaine commented.
"Then let's stay on our toes," May told the others. "I wouldn't want to get messed with by that stuff."
"Ditto," Bridget added.
"I'm kinda surprised those Boy Candy guys are dabbling in chemistry now," Mallory told the others.
"They used to dabble in taking people's faces, if you'd believe that," Alex grimaced. "It happened to poor me..."
"Unfortunately, it did," Clover added, backing Alex up.
That was when Nick noticed an odd look on Henya's face.
"Hey, what's the matter, Henya?" Nick wondered. "Did you find something?"
"Yeah, it looks like a recipe of sorts for that spray stuff," Henya replied. "And... oh, no..."
"What's going on?" Haruka asked.
"Is something wrong?" Melissa added.
"Something's definitely wrong!" Henya exclaimed.
"Whoa, Henya, what's got you so spooked?" Nick wondered.
"I recognize this concoction," Henya answered. "It's based off of a hallucinatory mixture that... that the Society created."
"Wait, you mean the guys that kidnapped you and all of your friends made this stuff?" Sam gasped. "Why would Boy Candy know these nutballs?"
"That's what worries me," Henya admitted. "If they were in contact with the Society for whatever reason, then that can only mean they know where I am..."
"If that's the case, then bring 'em on!" May proclaimed. "We've fought off worse nuts before. You guys remember all the times we had to deal with Zorth warriors while Momo was in town?"
"Yeah, some of those guys were pretty stubborn," Mat chuckled.
"I guess what we're saying, Henya, is that if any of the Society's mooks, generals, or whatever try to take you back, they're gonna get the business end of our fists, and maybe our boots," Nick stated. "You said it yourself, the only reason you'd go back is when you're ready to go back and help out all of your friends, right?"
Henya, despite her worry over what she'd found, had to smile at that as she jumped forward to hug Nick. "You know, you guys really are the best," Henya giggled. "I'm sure a lot of my friends would just love you."
"You'll definitely have to introduce us when all of this is over," Nick chuckled.
"Do let us know if we're interrupting something."
Nick's gaze followed the voice, since it didn't sound like T-Bone or Boy Candy. And sure enough, standing at the far end of the hallway was a quartet of strange figures wearing blinding white jumpsuits and visors that obscured their faces.
Henya tensed up at the sight of the Society guards, just as she'd expected.
"Well, well, the rats finally crawled out of the sewers, huh?" Alex quipped. "You wanna explain why you're helping these washed-out has-beens?!"
"It's simple, isn't it?" one of the mooks retorted. "We figured that Subject XIII would be hiding somewhere, so we decided to assist the enemies of her helpers by finding ways to flush them out."
"And now, you meddlers, you will return Subject XIII to us," a second mook proclaimed as the four of them advanced on the spies.
"I'm sorry, what, exactly, did you call her?" Nick growled, his body beginning to glow.
"She is Subject XIII, her given name," a third mook stated.
Nick took a step forward before unleashing a forward psychic pulse that knocked all four mooks down.
"Wrong answer, jumpsuit boys!" Nick retorted, his psychic aura flaring to life around him. "Her name is Henya, and she's not coming back to your sick little cult!"
"I'm afraid this isn't up for discourse," the fourth mook replied. "You will return Subject XIII to us, no matter what her feelings are on the matter."
The four mooks obviously expected Henya to just do as they said.
So, naturally, they were surprised when Henya took a step forward, only to swing her Wondercube downwards and blast them backwards with the booming sound waves she'd absorbed earlier.
Though the mooks picked themselves up, they were just as swiftly sent crashing into a nearby wall courtesy of May tossing her anchor into them like a javelin.
"Don't you know it's rude to not listen to a lady's feelings?" May taunted. "Henya's not going back with you freaks! End of story!"
"But what about your friends, Subject XIII?" one mook retorted. "Surely you wouldn't leave them behind?"
"I'll be back to break them out eventually," Henya shot back. "It should be really easy to break back in. After all, how do you think I got out?"
Not willing to listen to this any further, Henya tapped her Wondercube twice, its lines glowing a bright, pulsing blue, before she aimed it towards the four mooks and opened a hyperdimensional pocket behind them.
"Hope you enjoy Iceland," Henya giggled as Nick blasted the mooks into the pocket with a Final Shine Attack so that Henya could seal it up, transporting the mooks far, far away.
"That never gets old," Nick chuckled.
"To be fair, I don't think T-Bone and the band even know what the Society is, or they'd have gotten on your case about it, Henya," Blaine quipped. "Regardless, I think we need to find them before things get any crazier."
"Sounds like a plan to me," Dawn stated.
"You guys seem to have a lot of strange enemies," Mallory quipped as the group resumed their journey through the lair.
"Oh, tell me about it," Nozomi chuckled. "And the stranger ones are usually connected somehow to our new friends. We've learned to just take it in stride, though, since we always come out on top in the end."
"Yeah, well, you won't be comin' out on top of our charts this time!"
"Oh, goody, you saved us the trouble of having to hunt you down," Britney taunted as T-Bone and Boy Candy made their presence known.
"You little nutmegs ain't gonna be stopping our big comeback, that's a fact!" T-Bone laughed.
"You really think that's going to stop us?" Alex retorted.
"Because if that's really what you think, then I think you need to be ready for a pounding!" Henya shouted as the spies all charged into battle.
"Oh... I'm super scared..." T-Bone taunted, thinking Henya's Wondercube could not kill them.
"Your sarcasm is totally tasteless," Sam scoffed.
"And to taunt what I can do... you'll be eating your words in an instant!" Henya shouted as she aimed her Wondercube towards T-Bone.
Waiting a few seconds to catch him off guard, Henya waited until T-Bone laughed to snap her Wondercube down and send a barrage of glowing neon blue cubes towards him and Boy Candy, easily flooring the entire band.
"I did try to warn you," Henya taunted.
"I can see you're regretting it already," Haruka quipped.
"And take an anchor as your 'dessert,' too..." May added and hurled her anchor at Boy Candy again.
"Don't ever underestimate any of us, either!" Melissa exclaimed.
"Plus, I will personally see to it that this be your downfall if it's the last thing I do!" Henya proclaimed.
"Try us, you little munchkin!" T-Bone shot back as he charged back in, only to find themselves tripped up thanks to Mallory leg sweeping them off their feet. This left them wide open to getting telekinetically yanked around by Nick.
"That's right, my little puppets, dance!" Nick proclaimed, even adding a mocking evil laugh for dramatic flair.
Melissa and Dawn both took to the air on a Helicopter Hand Fan so they could take potshots at Boy Candy from the air.
"Ah, we haven't used that combo in a while, have we?" Melissa chuckled.
"I missed it," Dawn laughed.
Seeing that the spies made things easy on themselves again, Boy Candy tried to get away.
"Oh, you spodes aren't going anywhere!" Nick exclaimed and fired a psychic shot at them all.
They were all sent flat on their stomachs again.
"Good shots!" Blaine shouted.
"This isn't over!" T-Bone proclaimed as he tried to use his spray on the spy team.
Nick quickly reacted and held his breath while he swiftly used a psychic bubble to encase everyone.
"That's better," Mat remarked.
"THAT'S CHEATING!" T-Bone angrily shouted.
"Look who's talking here..." Britney retorted.
"We're harder to beat than you think, too," Nick replied as he fired another psychic shot at Boy Candy.
"Shame on you for putting more black marks in my book against you, too," Alex added.
"And you can spray as much of your aerosol at us, but you won't make me lose power to disperse my bubble either," Nick quipped.
"Why not make it easy on yourselves and surrender..." Mat remarked as if to take a line from the spies' rogues' gallery.
"That's rich..." T-Bone sneered. "We're FAR from done with you, after all..."
"Well, prepare for another whomping!" Henya proclaimed as she threw her Wondercube at them.
The Wondercube then turned the floor into slippery ice, which Boy Candy could not find a way to balance perfectly.
"You underestimate us, you will pay..." Bridget warned. "Sonic Mode, online!"
Boy Candy kept trying to stop Bridget as she ran in circles around them, but all they did was keep slipping and falling.
"How do ya like them apples?!" Blaine proclaimed.
"Now's our chance, guys!" Clover told the others.
"Let's try some power chords, shall we?" T-Bone laughed as he picked himself back up and played a riff on his guitar to send a series of booming sound waves towards the spies, but Nick quickly projected a psychic barrier to dissipate the waves.
"Come on, why don't you try something different for once in your lives?" Nick taunted.
"Hey, don't knock what works, am I right?" T-Bone chuckled as his bandmates played their instruments at the same time to create a barrier around them.
"Well, this clearly isn't!" Nick shot back, firing off a Final Shine Attack to shatter the barrier and leave Boy Candy wide open. "So get a new act already!"
T-Bone looked back at his bandmates before glancing back at the spies and giving off a wicked grin that tried to come across as intimidating (key word being tried).
"Well, then, if you're so desperate to see a new performance from us, then we'd be happy to oblige," T-Bone laughed as he and the band all retreated for the moment.
"Wait, wait, so their big plan is just chickening out?" Haruka quipped. "Can't say I dig that kind of plan."
"Wait a minute, something's wrong," Henya noted when she picked up odd vibrations coming from the nearby walls. Acting on instinct, she raised her Wondercube as more of that hallucinatory spray came out from the walls all around the spies, sucking the spray into the Wondercube before it could affect any of them.
"Oof, that was way too close for comfort," Sam quipped. "Thanks for the save, Henya."
Before Henya could turn around and respond, though, another spray came out of a nearby wall and doused Mallory before anyone could react.
The instant that occurred, the area around the spies began to come alive, neon lights playing across the walls, a strangely dischordant song began to play over the loudspeakers, and the sounds of crowd noise could be heard over the music.
"All right, what is this, and why is the mismatched-ness of it all making my eyes hurt?" Nozomi wondered.
'I'm more worried about Mallory," Alex quipped. "She got hit by that spray stuff, after all..."
Mallory glanced around, preparing herself for whatever this spray was going to make her see. She glanced down a nearby hallway, her vision blurry and wavy...
...and she saw Maria standing there, extending her hand towards her.
Trying to fight the notion that this was just a hallucination, Mallory couldn't help but advance anyways, the spray's effects compelling her to do so.
"Wait, where's she going?" Britney asked.
"We'd better follow her and make sure she's all right," May quipped. "I don't know how long that spray's effects last, and I'd rather she not get herself in any trouble."
The spies all followed Mallory as she moved down the hallway, Henya keeping her Wondercube ready in case Boy Candy tried to pull anything sneaky.
All the while, the strange melody continued to play from the loudspeakers, almost giving the impression that the spies were at a concert.
"I'll say this," Alex admitted. "For a washed-up band, they at least know how to make interesting music."
"That's not gonna save them from a butt-whooping, though, right?" Nick chuckled.
"Obviously," Alex teased.
Suddenly, Mallory let out a scream of what could only be described as pure, unyielding rage before barreling down the hallway, angrily swinging her fists through the air, clearly trying to attack something only she could see.
"You bastards aren't taking her away from me again!" Mallory shouted. "I don't care what you say to me, you get your filthy hands off of her!"
"Hey, who do you think she's seeing?" Clover wondered.
Mallory suddenly turned towards the spies, her expression speaking volumes of her rage.
"Give her back!" Mallory exclaimed, charging towards the spies and attempting to punch them out.
"Whoa, Mallory, it's us!" Bridget gasped as she dodged Mallory's wild swings. "You gotta snap out of it!"
"I SAID GIVE HER BACK TO ME, YOU SONS OF BITCHES!' Mallory screamed as she spun around and shoulder-tackled Dawn to the ground before pouncing on her.
Henya quickly dashed forward to intercept, aiming her Wondercube at Mallory and unleashing a blinding flash of neon-blue light that seemed to stop her in her tracks.
Mallory's eyes widened slightly before she just as quickly closed them, shaking her head a few times to dispel the cobwebs from her mind.
"Um, Dawn? Why am I..." Mallory asked.
"You kinda got affected by the spray stuff," Dawn answered.
"And trust me, it's very effective, even if it tends not to last long," Henya stated. "I've seen it first-hand, after all."
"What exactly did you see during... that?" Nick wondered.
"I... oh, god, I saw Maria," Mallory admitted. "I saw her at the end of the hallway and something compelled me to follow her. When I turned around, though, I saw the Skyfallers trying to take her away from me, and... I guess I just lost my beans for a bit there..."
"After what they did, you've got every reason to hate those little punks," May responded. "And now you've probably got even more reason to hate T-Bone and his band boys, huh?"
"Ooh, just let me at 'em," Mallory growled. "I'm gonna wring their skinny little necks."
"How about we save the neck-wringing for when we actually find them?" Nick quipped. "I have this feeling that we haven't seen their entire setlist yet, if you'll pardon the expression."
With that, the spies all continued moving through the lair as the strange "concert" continued to play around them.
"I think I owe you guys an apology?" Mallory wondered.
"You're all good since it was their own doing," Clover told her.
"Besides," May added. "When their serum works against us, it works!"
"Credit me for the quick thinking," Henya quipped.
"Yes, indeed," Mallory stated. "Thank you, Henya!"
"What WAS that blue light, anyway?" Mat asked. "Obviously, it worked to free Mallory..."
"Like I mentioned earlier, I know how this hallucinatory spray stuff works since I saw it get developed at the Society," Henya explained. "That particular flash of blue light was something a friend of mine helped me with to counter-act the effects of the spray and help whoever got affected by it snap out of it quicker."
"You sound like you have some really smart friends, Henya," Melissa quipped.
"Definitely," Henya chuckled.
"Then maybe we can make it work for us in another way," Nick deduced.
"I have to admit that blue light was brighter than a camera flash," Mallory commented.
"Yeah, sorry about that," Henya giggled. "I didn't mean for it to be so bright."
"Hey, as long as it snapped me out of it, I'm definitely not complaining," Mallory chuckled, patting Henya on the shoulder.
"I don't want to experience that myself," Mat chuckled.
"Anyway, this music's enough to make me cringe," Blaine replied, getting back to the task at hand.
"I can remedy that," Clover quipped as she got the Sensible Soundproof Earplug.
"Nice thinking, Clover," Sam remarked.
Everybody equipped the Sensible Soundproof Earplugs, and they could no longer hear the cringy music.
"Maybe I should do that next time a Jennifer Lopez song comes on," Mat commented.
"Ouch," Nick chuckled.
"Never would've picked you to not like her songs," Melissa stated.
"There are others I won't listen to, personally," Mat admitted. "Too many to list."
"Hopefully we'll find something to sniff 'em out," Britney remarked.
Nick was using his psychic radar, and he had just pinpointed something.
"You just said the magic words, Britney," Nick quipped.
He fired a psychic shot down the lair.
"SHORYUKEN, BITCHES!" Nick shouted since he had got Boy Candy out from wherever they were hiding.
May tilted her head at Nick shouting that, but she could understand it in a sense.
"Now you're going to experience a taste of your own medicine!" Haruka exclaimed.
"You're lucky you're not on TV, people," Nozomi proclaimed. "Because you'd be letting your fan base down in a heartbeat!"
"Now, it's time for me to wring your necks for what you did to me!" Mallory growled as she stomped forward.
"Hey, we're not the ones who actually did that to you, you know," T-Bone chuckled as he prepared himself for whatever Mallory was going to do.
In response, Henya snapped her Wondercube down and created a cluster of glowing blue cubes around Boy Candy's feet that all converged and trapped them in their spots.
"Go nuts, Mallory," Henya quipped.
"Much obliged, Henya," Mallory replied as she jumped onto Boy Candy's latest stage and lunged forward to strike each of them with a flying kick to the face that sent them all stumbling.
"You may not have been the ones who killed Maria, but you both reminded me of what those bastards did to her and tried to mess with my mind!" Mallory exclaimed. "You honestly think I'm just going to let you get away with that?!"
"Well, maybe once we're back on stage, we'll..." T-Bone started as he reached for his guitar, only for Mallory to swipe it right from his hands. "H-HEY!"
"Because if you're going to push my buttons, then I'm gonna show you one of the many reasons I'm known as Mallory Metallic!" Mallory shouted as she jumped towards T-Bone and swiped at him with the guitar, catching him off guard and knocking him right off of the stage.
The other members of Boy Candy didn't have time to react to Mallory coming for them either, and were subsequently swept right off of the stage by Mallory and her pilfered guitar.
"Now let's see how you like a taste of my power chords!" Mallory shouted as she strummed on the guitar a couple times before playing a chord so forceful, thanks to the loudspeakers on Boy Candy's stage, the sound waves actually blasted Boy Candy right back off of the stage.
"Wow, she's really whoopin' on em," Britney chuckled.
"Yeah, if she wasn't doing it, I would be," May admitted.
"C-Come on, be reasonable here," T-Bone stuttered as he picked himself back up, only for Mallory to grab him by the shirt collar and yank him closer.
"Reasonable?!" Mallory growled. "You tried to make me relive the death of my best friend because you thought I wasn't being reasonable?! You seriously wanted me to join your has-been band because you thought I wasn't being reasonable?! What, did you really think I was going to stoop to your level when you know what I've lost and what that grief made me do?!"
"H-Hey now, let's all be calm here," T-Bone sputtered, clearly trying to save face with the angry metal singer in his face.
"Oh, that's completely rich," Mallory retorted. "Here's a tip for you nut loafs. Maybe next time, don't try and step over other, actually talented singers just to get back on top of the spotlight. I had to learn that lesson the hard way, and maybe you should, too!"
Not willing to listen to any more of T-Bone's excuses, Mallory wound herself up before ripping forward with a wicked right hook that collided with T-Bone's face and sent him flying backwards, crashing through the loudspeakers on the stage and onto the floor.
The other members of Boy Candy quickly rushed to pick their lead singer up, gesturing towards the opposite hallway as they did so.
And T-Bone knew what that meant it was time for.
"Well, as fun as this has been, we really do have to get going now," T-Bone laughed, attempting to act like he still had this situation under control. "After all, we've finally finished preparing the main stage for our amazing comeback, and you're all invited to witness it. So don't keep us waiting, spies!"
With that said, Boy Candy all retreated down the nearby hallway, leaving the spies to ponder their next move.
"Sounds like we're just about ready to end this nonsense, huh?" Sam stated.
"Looks that way, if they're actually heading for their trump card," Britney quipped.
"Well, then, let's not waste time, shall we?" May proclaimed, spinning her anchor around in her hands. "We've got a washed-out music club to curbstomp!"
The spies all took off down the nearby hallway, still trying to make sense of the wacky visuals of the "concert" that was playing around them, all while avoiding more sneak attacks from the hypno-spray across each hallway.
Henya, naturally, had her Wondercube ready with each turn, using it to absorb the spray whenever it tried to trip them up again.
Eventually, the group reached a large metal double door decorated with odd stickers, no doubt representing Boy Candy.
"That's totally not self-absorbed," Alex sighed.
"These clucks are really starting to grate my cheese," Haruka quipped. "How about we bust in and show them what for?"
"Music to my ears," Nick chuckled as he raised his hand to blast the door down with a Final Shine Attack, revealing the main stage where Boy Candy was waiting for them.
The stage itself was gigantic, arranged in a circular design with glowing floor panels and spotlights all over. Boy Candy themselves were seated in the center, tuning up their instruments if the slow drum beat that could be heard was any indication. The metal walls around the room were all colored a dark lime-green, and speakers dotted the upper half of the room.
Floating high above the stage was a very odd-looking machine that resembled T-Bone's head, with two large mechanical hands floating aside it.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have found the trump card," Clover stated.
"So nice of you to join us, spies," T-Bone proclaimed, his voice echoing across the stage. "It's been quite a while, but I think we're just about ready to get back on stage."
T-Bone gestured to the machine floating above the stage. "Do you like our masterpiece?" T-Bone stated. "I really think we outdid ourselves this time. Combine this with our hypnotic music and our hallucinatory spray, and you have all of the ingredients for a performance that's going to take this whole damn world by storm!"
"Sorry to cut in, but is there a rest stop between now and the flip-truckin' point?!" May shouted, aiming her anchor for the band.
"The point, you little haters, is that this is where we make our comeback, and you all fall down in the traces!" T-Bone exclaimed. "Prepare to feel the absolutely funk-a-dacious wrath of..."
All of the members of Boy Candy raised their instruments.
"BOY CANDY'S RAGE STAGE!"
Boy Candy started playing their song as the machine itself, the Rage Stage, started floating downwards to attack the spies.
"Okay, so how do we deal with this thing, huh?" Alex wondered.
The Rage Stage swung its hands to shoot clouds of mist towards the spies, who quickly dodged away from the shot.
"All right, that wasn't nice!" Haruka exclaimed.
"Hey, is it me, or is that thing... dancing to the beat?" Nozomi wondered. Indeed, the Rage Stage was undulating and moving along with the beat of Boy Candy's song.
The Rage Stage slammed one of its floating hands into the ground in an attempt to squash the spies. That's when Nick noticed that not only was the Rage Stage moving to the beat of the song, it was also attacking to the beat of the song.
"I think I get it," Nick quipped.
"What'd you figure out, Nick?" Blaine asked.
"Its attacks are all synced up with the beat of the song those has-beens are playing," Nick responded. "So, I bet if we can time our own counters just right, we should be able to expose a weak spot."
"So, groove to the beat, then?" May chuckled. "I can get down with that."
The spies all split up to divert attention from themselves as the Rage Stage decided on who to attack.
After a bit, the Rage Stage opened its mouth, no doubt to charge up some kind of laser attack, and that's when Henya caught sight of a strange pink sphere inside the Rage Stage's mouth.
"Gotcha!" Henya exclaimed, swinging her Wondercube upwards to send a barrage of glowing cubes to attack the weak spot and drive the Rage Stage backwards.
Despite this, the Rage Stage continued to move to the beat, occasionally dipping its hands down to drop spiked balls onto the spies.
"All right, now you're just not being nice!" Dawn exclaimed as she jumped away from a spike ball.
The Rage Stage continued to float around the arena, spraying the mist around itself every now and then to protect itself. Clover sucked up one of the mist clouds with an Insanely Powerful Portable Vacuum to expose the weak point in its mouth.
However, when Henya stepped up to attack, the Rage Stage floated upwards to avoid her.
"Aw, that's not fair, either!" Henya shouted.
With the Rage Stage higher up now, it appeared to be harder to hit, but Nick solved that problem by flying into the air and confronting the Rage Stage head-on.
"Oh, what, you wanna dance now?" Nick taunted.
The Rage Stage answered by rearing back before charging forward in an attempt to slap Nick out of the air with its mechanical hands, but Nick projected a psychic barrier to deflect the hands before firing a Final Shine Attack into the Rage Stage.
Sadly, a compartment closed over the mouth to protect the weak point, and though Nick's Final Shine Attack damaged the compartment, it held.
"Well, that didn't work," Nick groaned. "But maybe..."
Nick floated around in the air for a few seconds, keeping the Rage Stage's attention on him, and watched for any tells that he could.
After a bit, the Rage Stage's mouth opened again, but closed after a couple seconds. Like everything else the Rage Stage did, it was synced up with the beat of the music that Boy Candy was playing.
With that in mind, Nick waited for the mouth to open again, preemptively charging up a Final Shine Attack.
While this was going on, the rest of the spies were searching from the ground for any other weak spots on the Rage Stage that they could exploit.
Eventually, Nick fired his attack right when the Rage Stage's mouth was opening up, blasting the pink sphere inside and sending the Rage Stage into a tailspin, though it quickly recovered.
"Any progress down there, everyone?" Nick asked.
"We're still searching for other weak spots!" Sam shouted.
"Well, too bad for you that you're not going to have that chance anymore!" T-Bone laughed as he pressed a button on his instruments.
A third mechanical hand appeared from the nearby walls and shot out to snatch Mallory up, taking her high up to the roof of the stage.
"Mallory!" Alex exclaimed.
"Ah-ah, I wouldn't worry too much about her right now, ya dig?" T-Bone chuckled. "Right now, y'all have bigger problems to worry about. You may have found the weak spot, but who said this is all we have to show you? Boys, let's pick up the pace, shall we?"
Boy Candy started playing a slightly faster and more up-tempo version of their song, and the Rage Stage began moving in tune with this new version of the song.
"Well, this got a bit harder," Mat noted. "You doing all right up there, Mallory?"
"I'll be fine!" Mallory exclaimed. "You all just crush this thing first!"
"Guess we're gonna have to keep up with the new beat, huh?" Bridget noted.
Nick continued to float around the Rage Stage, studying its new patterns and waiting for a chance to attack, knowing they'd get one sooner or later.
To be concluded...
Next time...
Nick: How's it coming down there?
RiCO: It seems like the 'weak spot' keeps changing depending on what part of the song they're on, according to what I can read.
Sam: So, basically, every time Boy Candy changes up the song, the weak point moves. Good to know.
T-Bone: Like it's really gonna help you little clucks!
May: Well, you know what they say, you just have to adapt to the beat!
Mat: Hey, I think that's what we've gotta hit!
Melissa: Allow me, then.
Britney: Someone's gotta get up there and help Mallory out!
Bridget: I can take care of that. Sonic Mode, online!
Henya: Well, readers, this whacked-out concert is about to hit its climax very soon, so make sure you don't miss all of the beats next time on the final act of Totally Spies: The Rage on the Stage, "One Last Curtain Call"!
Alex: You know, they may play washed-up villains on set, but the guys playing Boy Candy are actually pretty good musicians.
Henya: I heard they actually composed the theme for this final fight by themselves.
May: Oh, it better be on the soundtrack, with all of its variations.
