A/n: Hi guys thank you so much for clicking on my story. It's been a while since I've last wrote so my grammer may be a bit shaky and since my beta-reader hasn't read this yet, I don't have a second pair of eyes to help me avoid that lol.

My story has a different take on time travel so I hope you enjoy. Please let me know what you think in the comments!

So without further a do, here is the epic tale of how Hermione Jean Granger got reincarnated as the younger daughter of Polloux and Irma Black and how she then met and fell in love with Tom Riddle.

Summary: He grabbed her wrist painfully and jerked her towards him, the charming mask dropped from his face as he looked down at her threateningly. " What is it you plot, Black?" he hissed. Hermione smiled up him sweetly,

"Scared I might be hiding something grand? Don't fret, we both know the crown of deception has one owner and it's you. "

Epilogue: A sick twist of fate.

May 2nd 1998

Hogwarts, School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Dark clouds hung ominously in the sky, blocking the silver rays of starlight that once illuminated Hogwarts in a soft ethereal glow. The cold air crackled with magic as the fighting commenced below.

Hermione's chest heaved as she struggled to catch her breath; she had been hit by an unknown curse that constricted her lungs painfully, making it difficult for her to breathe with each labored breath.

She knelt over the dead body of Luna; the blonde's eyes, which once sparkled with life, now lay staring up at her lifelessly.

"Is the mudblood sad that I killed her little friend?" Bellatrix taunted with an ugly grin on her face, her dark eyes glinting at Hermione gleefully as she revelled in her pain.

"Served the little bitch right for being a traitor to her own kind. What self-respecting pureblood would associate themselves with dirty muggles and mudbloods? They all deserved to be wiped clean from the face of the earth alongside the vermin they so dearly love!" Bellatrix hatefully spat.

"How dare you speak of Luna like that! You wicked cow!" Ginny hissed, raising her wand to hurl a blood-boiling jinx at Bellatrix. The dark witch simply side-stepped the spell, which then crashed into the castle wall harmlessly.

The crazed grin on her face impossibly warped even more as she raised her crooked wand and darkly declared,

" My turn. "

She then cast a vicious cutting hex at Ginny, it hit her squarely in the chest and sent her flying backwards against the castle wall. Hermione heard the redhead grunt as all the breath was knocked out of her.

Hermione screamed shrilly, "Ginny!" There was no reply. The redhead Gryffindor had been knocked unconscious and now lay vulnerable in the line of fire and unable to defend herself.

Hermione knew then that she needed to draw the elder witch's attention to herself in order to buy Ginny some time to wake up.

She couldn't afford to lose her either.

Hermione pushed herself to her feet with new resolve. Bellatrix would not kill another one of her friends! She raised her wand; the wood felt slick in her bloodied hand, but she managed to find a grip on it.

Bellatrix didn't seem to notice as she jumped up and down in glee, celebrating the damage she'd inflicted on Ginny, her insane cackling rang in Hermione's ears causing her stomach to give a nauseating twist.

Hermione forced herself not to gag and seized the moment of distraction to hurl a curse at the witch's way,

"Confringo"

The red stunner had bust free from Hermione's wand and rushed toward Bellatrix, but her shaky hands had messed up her aim and instead smashed into the castle wall five inches above her head, sending brickdust into her hair.

Bellatrix then snapped her maniacal gaze back to Hermione. "How dare you raise your wand to a pureblood? You filthy mudblood slut!" she screeched, baring her rotten teeth.

'At least I have her attention now,' Hermione thought and sent another jinx her way. Bellatrix lazily put up a shield, blocking Hermione's spell with ease. An amused look crossed her face as she jeered at the younger girl,

"If you're going to steal magic, at least make a proper attempt at performing it."

Dark magic crackled around Bellatrix, sending her dark curls frizzing and floating around her head. The feral look in her eyes, made her appear like a wild animal who had just been unchained.

'Flamata' Hermione thought,

A dark spell rushed towards the crazed witch ferociously, leaving patches of melted stone in its wake. Hermione didn't pride herself in using dark magic but given the circumstances it was better to fight fire with fire seeing as Bellatrix had no intention in letting her or Ginny get out of this alive and could not afford to lose another one of her friends. She refused!

Bellatrix's eyes widened in surprise and her smirk dropped. The speed of Hermione's spell left her no time to erect a shield, so she had to dive out of the way instead. The spell melted a hole in the castle wall where Bellatrix would have been

She rolled to her feet with a feral smile, "That's more like it," she cackled and stabbed her wand at Hermione,

"Cinus"

A pudgent yellow mist sprang free from the tip of Bellatrix's crooked wand. Hermione's blood chilled in recognition as the narrow, acidic curse flew toward her. A simple Protego wouldn't do much to block it.

Hermione then waved her wand in a flurry of complicated movements and thought,

'Tutela!'

A golden shield enveloped her and absorbed the full impact of the spell before shattering into hundreds of shards cassading at her feet, leaving her unharmed.

Bellatrix's insane grin contorted into a sneer and her face twisted in fury when she saw her spell had been unsuccessful. With a cry, Bellatrix fired another dark curse toward Hermione, followed by two more.

'Cesso '

A brilliant shield sprang forward, absorbing the string of curses hurled towards her ; the sheer force of the first two curses had sent her sliding backwards, nearly causing her to lose her footing. The golden shield flickered alarmingly before it finally shattered after the last curse.

Bellatrix now glared at her angrily, giving Hermione a small window of time to fire her own curse at the witch.

"Adula"

The older witch's eyes widened once more as she fumbled to erect a shield in time. Unfortunately, she was just a moment too late and Hermione's curse slammed against her sheild and easily breached it, hitting her full force in the chest. The impact sending her to her knees and spitting out blood onto the stone floor.

"You filthy bitch! You'll pay for that!" she coughed and shakily raised her wand to send a jet of green light at Hermione who gasped and frantically dove to avoid the killing curse.

"Avada Kedavra!"

The second curse missed her narrowly as she quickly rolled out of the way and it hit the ground instead of her face. Hermione rolled to her feet and quickly cast another spell,

"Fumos!"

Thick, smoky ropes spiraled from the tip of Hermione's wand, casting a screen of smoke between her and Bellatrix. Hermione took the opportunity then to hurl a nasty, cutting hex toward where she thought Bellatrix was; a sharp cry told her she had been successful.

"You filthy muggle whore! When I find you, I'm going to kill you and make it hurt!" Bellatrix hissed and casted a quick counter-spell to clear away the thick smoke screen between them.

Hermione had heard the evil witch stumble and she guessed that her curse must have hit her in the leg. As the mist had thinned, she followed the trail of blood leading to the witch's right leg, there she saw a deep gash on the elderly woman's upper thigh that caused her to lean most of her weight on her left leg.

Bellatrix looked livid, and before the smoke had even fully cleared, she angrily hurled another dark curse at Hermione. Once again, she'd quickly erected the golden shield but Bellatrix watched Hermione with gleeful eyes and saw her spell smash brutally against the shield, only for it to then flicker and die. The remnants of her spell hit the Gryffindor in the arm, causing her to cry out.

Hermione's arm felt as though it were on fire as Bellatrix's spell burned a hole into her skin. The sizzling pain lasted only for a second or two before subsiding into sharp aches. Hermione was glad that her shield had had been able to absorb the brunt of the force, otherwise she would have lost her arm!

"Don't tell me the mudblood wants to cry," Bellatrix taunted Hermione, her dark eyes scanned over Hermione's distressed face with an ugly grin on her face. She was clearly toying with her and enjoying every second of it.

"I would prefer to hear you scream and beg as you grovel at my feet in the dirt where you belong, " Bellatrix sneered at Hermione with disgust. Hermione then heard a rustle then a soft moan to her left and quickly glanced over her shoulder to see that the Ginny had regained consciousness.

Unfortunately Bellatrix also took notice and a sick smile twisted on her lips and she raised her wand toward Ginny hissing,

"Avada Kedavra!"

Time slowed, turning the blood in her veins to ice, whilst her heart raced a thousand miles a second, adrenaline coursed through her as she sprang into action. Hermione had no time to think or hesitate and flung herself last-second in front of Ginny to shield her from the dark green curse, which then hit at her dead on in the back.

No!" Ginny screamed rushing forward, but it was too late. Hermione's vision blurred as she fell face-forward, the intense pain ripped at her, igniting every nerve in her body.

Ginny is safe, that's all that matters, she thought as she began to black out. The sight of Ginny's horrified face and the sound of Bellatrix's satisfied cackle were the last things she saw and heard before she slipped into the veil of darkness.

OoO

Hermione floated between the planes of nothingness. The serenity wrapped around her like a comforting blanket.

'Is this what death feels like?'

The once light feeling suddenly grew heavier and stretched and grew until it completely submerged her. Panicking, she struggled against the feeling and to break free from the ocean of nothingness.

Something wasn't right; death shouldn't have felt like that.

After a few seconds, she had given up trying to fight and allowed the intensity to take her.

February 2nd 1942

Hogwarts, School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Hermione felt a sharp pain stabbing behind her eyes. She groaned softly.

Oh my God, who knew dying would hurt so much?

She heard muffled voices arguing from afar but they sounded distant and unintelligible, as if her head were underwater. She groaned once again, struggling to make out what they were saying.

The voices grew farther and farther away, as she slipped further into a blissful oblivion.

OoO

"Mina"

A gentle voice called out, it sounded pleasantly male.

Who was that speaking? Who was Mina?

Hermione's eyes fluttered open and she found herself staring up at a blurry ceiling. "Hermione, if you can hear me open your eyes, " the same unfamiliar voice urged again, but had this time called her name. She blinked heavily and the pounding in her head returned full swing.

She moaned softly at the pain. Her stomach did acrobatics and she thought she was going to be sick.

Who knew it was possible to feel so sick in the afterlife?

"That's it, open your eyes," the voice urged pleadingly. She blinked a few times slowly, her vision was fuzzy and unfocused. The pressure behind her eyes pounded viciously as she snapped them closed with another moan.

'Is he talking to me?' she thought sluggishly

She opened her eyes again to an array of white dots and dim shapes blurring and swirling as the world spun and swayed, worsening the pounding headache she had building behind her eyes.

Hermione again slammed her shut and winced in regret.

"Don't push her Alphard, she's been concussed!" Hermione heard a female voice hiss, the voice sounded oddly familiar but she couldn't put her finger on who.

Confusion drove her to once again open her eyes. She blinked again slowly; once, then twice and fuzziness started to fade, finally shifting her vision back into focus. She then regonized the ceiling as the one in the hospital wing.

How had she gotten there? She'd been battling Bellatrix Lestrange on the Astronomy Tower alongside Luna and Ginny..

Ginny!

Hermione shot up abruptly. Had Ginny been okay? The last thing she remembered was Bellatrix sending the killing curse at Ginny and she'd ran to sheild her but if she were here in the infirmary then that meant that she'd not made it time.

No!

She clearly remembered being hit in the back and the pain of the curse retching her heart to a stop. She'd remembered Ginny's distraught face as she slipped away.

She was dead, she had to of been. It was impossible to survive the killing curse, hence the name.

"Slowly Mina, you've taken a big knock "the same male voice soothed, gently taking her by the shoulders to ease her back down onto the pillows. Hermione found herself staring into the concerned eyes of a handsome young man.

" S-Sirus?" she croaked confused, causing the eyes of the young man to widen in surprise.

"No Mina, it's me, Alphie," he said, with a frown.

Alphie? Oh...so he'd been the one the girl was speaking to, however she wondered how he knew her name and why he was calling her Mina? It seemed far too personal for a person she'd never met before.

"You do know who I am right?" He queried softy, "You do know who we are?" His eyes flickered to the other figure in the room, to her left stood a beautiful brunette who seemed eerily familiar but Hermione couldn't place the witch's face.

Something felt extremely off.

Hadn't she died? Or had she just not passed on yet? Why hadn't she been met with the faces of her deceased parents and friends? Why was she staring into the eyes of people she'd never seen before asking her all these weird questions?

A pregnant pause ensued, Hermione stared at them blankly.

It had to of been the effects of dying on her brain that most probably hadn't died off yet and was creating odd scenarios in a last attempt to soothe her. It was the only logical explanation she could think of.

"Can't you remember what happened?" he asked in a hollow voice. She frowned at him dubiously. Of course she had remembered how she'd died, Draco Malfoy's psychotic aunt had murdered her!

'Right after she'd murdered Luna...'Hermione thought sadly and felt her thorat start to constrict as she pushed back the tears welling up in her eyes.

"Wally, she doesn't know who we are. That's the reason she's been looking at us all funny. She can't remember a bloody thing!" He exasperated, running a hand through his dark locks nervously.

"Language Alphard" the witch hissed with sour look on her face, "Let's not jump to conclusions, Mina's only been awake for a few hours. She'd gotten hit rather hard by that stupid bludger of yours. I'm surprised that it didn't take her head clean off her shoulders! Barbarians the lot of you." The pretty brunette glared accusingly at Alphard who gave her a sheepish look.

" Now Walburga it's not fair to place all the blame on your brother. What had happened to Hermione is unfortunate but remains an accident, it could of happened to anyone of you three. " A familiar voiced lightly chided. Hermione jumped slightly at the person who'd slipped in unoticed now standing at the foot of her bed.

Nothing in the world could of prepared her to be looking into the kind twinkling blue eyes of Albus Dumbledore. He was significantly younger, sporting yellow robs and light blond hair instead of grey.

The panic really started to set in.

This was getting utterly ridiculous! Albus Dumbledore had been dead for over a year so why in Merlin's beard was he standing less than five feet away from her in the flesh and looking much younger.

Her stomach clenched and she once again felt sick. She did not have a good feeling.

Walburga lowered her gaze abashed, a blush spread crossed her cheeks. "Yes proffesor, " she whispered softly. Walburga? As in Walburga Black, Sirus's deranged, racist mother who's portrait screeched hateful things at her everytime time she'd stepped foot into Graummauld place? If Alphard had claimed to be her brother then that would automatically make Walburga her sister by default, how could she forget?!

Yes, something had clearly been very wrong indeed.

"How are you feeling miss Black? You've taken quite a knock to the head." Dumbledore inquired gently as he trained his sparkling blue eyes on her. Hermione felt herself tense up.

"She can't remember anything proffesor, I'd asked her earlier if she knew who Walburga and I are and she said no. She can't even remember what had happened to her" Alphard whispered dejectingly, his dark eyes filled with pain.

"Your sister has sustained a severe concussion mr Black, " Dumbledore said soothingly, " It is not uncommon for people to temporarily lose their memory after receiving such a severe head trauma. The fact that she has woken up is good news in itself. Don't feel too discouraged, Madame Duhane is a brilliant mediwitch and will get her back on her feet in no time, "

Just as the words left Dumbledore's mouth a plump blonde woman appeared at her beside holding two slim vials in hand. Hermione regonized them instantly, the one as a stong pain potion and the other as a dreamless draft.

"That's enough visiting for today you two, run along now, it's almost time for dinner," Madame Duhane said shooeing Walburga and Alphard out of the room. She told them that she will send for them to visit another time when Hermione was feeling better.

Madame Duhane then smiled down at her and patted her hand "Don't worry dear I'll have you right as rain in no time." She then proceed to uncork the first vial, tipping the potion into Hermione's mouth.

Hermione pulled a face at the taste.Godric, did pain relief potions taste horrid!

The pounding pain behind her eyes subsided into a dull ache and Hermione sighed in relief. As putrid as pain potions tasted they did do a fantastic job after all!

Madame Duhane then tipped the second vial into her mouth. Thankfully the dreamless draft had been more palpable.

"There you go dear, the pain should now be a bit more manageable and the dreamless draft will help you rest a bit easier." Madam Duhan cooed softly and then turned to Dumbledore.

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave now proffesor. Miss Black needs her rest. " Madame Duhane said gently as she placed a hand on Dumbledore's shoulders.

"Of course madame, I've had to of left soon anyway or else I would risk being late for dinner! I was merely checking in to see how miss Black is recovering." He chirped and offered Hermione a kind smile,

"I'm pleased to see the progress you have made, now if you would excuse me I shall take my leave now. I bid you goodnight and a speedy recovery." Dumbledore blurred before her eyes as the world started spinning once again.

Hermione was enveloped once again a blanket of darkness, slowing drifting in the sea of nothingness.
