Legends Rider Again:
S1: E4: The Afterglow
Captain Braddock stood in the main hall of his order's secret base, a lit candle held afloat by magic. He raised a hand, and his saber emerged from blue fire. The knight captain got into a fencing stance.
The knight looked at the small fire on the candle and envisioned the witch known as Kuuga. He took a half-step forward, reeled back his sword, and thrust it forward, creating a slight wind that caused the flame to sway but not to go out.
The knight pulled his saber back and held it in front of his face in a vertical position. He placed his free hand behind him, straightened his back, and circled the candle clockwise.
Braddock thrust his saber down once he completely circled the candle, and the wind created with this thrust was strong enough to blow out the flame.
The knight captain relaxed his body and sent away his saber. He closed his eyes as he felt the spot on his chest where Kuuga hit him a few days ago. There was a lingering pain when he touched it, but it was nothing he couldn't weather.
He heard a noise, looked to his right, and saw his superior watching him.
"I see you're practicing your form, Dear Captain," Lady Blightthorne commented condescendingly. "You must have been handed a defeat while I was away."
Braddock adopted a neutral demeanor and noticed that the Lady's markings had grown. Lady Blightthorne saw the captain staring and offered him a glare as she walked up to the table in the room.
She took out a shot glass and a vial of bile. She poured half of the vial into the glass and downed it in one go. She touched the cheek her mark was on and felt it recede.
"... You've returned earlier than I was expecting," the captain finally spoke. "So, I can assume your studies have ended?"
Lady Blighttorne scowled as she corked the vial of bile and returned it to its proper place.
"Unfortunately, the subjects I acquired weren't enough for proper studying," the lady knight replied with a hint of bitterness and looked at the captain. "But I have learned some interesting facts that should help us with our harvests."
Lady Blighthorne showed a small purple orb to the captain. Braddock stared at the item indifferently and then looked at her superior.
"And what does some jewelry have to do with our harvest?" the knight captain asked.
Lady Blightthorne smiled a condescending smile at Braddock. The captain held back a growl as the lady approached him, waving the piece of jewelry.
"This, Dear captain, is what this era witches call an oracle stone," Lady Blightthorne explained conceitedly. "It allows witches to channel oracle magic far more easily than during our era."
Braddock scoffed at this and condescendingly crossed his arms. "Just more proof that era is soft."
Lady Blightthorne smiled at the captain as she swung the oracle stone into her hand.
"On this matter, Dear Captain, we have to disagree," the lady knight said. "I had witnessed a young witch use one of these stones during my studies, and they weren't brought nearly to the brink of death, unlike those who practice this breed of magic during our day."
Braddock sowled as he saw a glee enter the lady's eyes as she looked admiringly at the stone in her hands.
"But, how does that help us with our harvesting?" the knight captain asked.
Lady Blighttorne snapped out of her state and smiled as she looked at the captain.
"That's simple. Once I alter this stone, I will use it to find witches who process the Afterglow."
Braddock couldn't help but scoff at this idea, giving his superior a scornful look.
"I now know you have taken a leave of your senses, my lady," the knight captain retorted. "The Afterglow is a myth."
Lady Blightthorne gave the captain a knowing smirk and walked past him. "That, dear captain, is where you're wrong," she said condescendingly. "I have witnessed it myself during my studies. And once I am through altering this stone, I will find more witches with that power. Oh, one more thing; if you see my dear boy, please send him to me."
Captain Braddock's scorn increased as he watched his superior leave the room.

Amity was pacing in front of the Blight-Tech's building, stressed to the point of nearly panicking. Beside her, Willow and Gus frowned as they watched their friend go into a near spiral.
The two exchanged concerned looks, and Willow gestured with her head at the abomination witch. Gus pointed to himself, asking why he had to be the one to do the deed. Willow gave her oldest friend an "I did it last time, so now it's your turn" look. The young illusionist sighed.
"Amity, if you keep this up, you're going to wear a hole in the ground," Gus joked, trying to break the tension.
Amity didn't acknowledge Gus in any form; she just kept pacing. Gus looked at Willow, shrugging, and the plant witch sighed. She walked up to her childhood friend and got in her path. Amity might have run right into her friend if Willow hadn't put her arm out and caught the abomination watch by the shoulders.
"Amity, you need to calm down," Willow said calmly, then smiled reassuringly. "Luz will be here in time for the presentation. How do you even know your girl to let you down?"
Amity stared into the confident eyes of her childhood friend and sighed. She took a minute to calm down, taking a few calming breaths before she addressed Willow.
"You know I would never distrust Luz," Amity said lowly. "I'm just on edge since this is the first big reveal since Dad and I started Blight-Tech. I just want things to go smoothly."
Willow nodded her understanding and was about to reply when they heard a familiar engine noise. The group looked towards the front of the building and saw Luz and Hunter cruising in on Amity's creation.
Amity smiled with relief and went to greet her girlfriend and friend. She frowned as Luz came to a stop, and the passenger jumped off the bike in a near-frantic manner. Amity realized Luz wasn't the rider when she took off her helmet, and she grinned at her sheepishly.
"Sorry, Sweet Potato?" the human said apologetically. "Last night's training took more out of me than I thought, and I overslept."
"Well, I'm also to blame on that one," Hunter added, dismounting the bike. "I forgot about today. We would have been late If it wasn't for Willow's text."
Amity quickly nodded as she walked up to her creation. She gently pushed Hunter out of the way and grabbed the handles.
"Yeah, I will make a note to thank Willow later," Amity said quickly, moving her bike to the building.
Luz and Hunter watched Amity wheeled the motorcycle into the Blight-tech building, then looked at each other in confusion. They turned their confusion to Willow and Gus. The plant witch sighed and began walking, the others following her.
"Amity's just stressed out," Willow explained. "This is the first big product since Amity and Mister Blight started Blight-Teach. Amity just wanted things to go off without a problem."
Luz nodded and looked at her girlfriend. She watched as Amity brought her bike onto a stage and faced it forward. The human witch frowned when she noticed someone was missing.
"Hey, Amity?" Luz asked, walking up to the stage, "Where's your dad? I thought he would be here."
Amity, who was in the middle of examining her creation, sighed. "Dad wanted to be here. But, between trying to figure out what the first product of our new company would be and working nonstop on a method to remove Belos's sigil, he's exhausted. So, I told him to take a couple of days off and sleep."
Amity finished her examination and nodded to herself. The machine wasn't in bad shape despite Luz using it in battle. Satisfied, she looked back at her friends and frowned when she saw them giving her looks.
"What?" she asked, touching a cheek. 'Do I have some abomination on my face?"
Luz got onto the stage and walked up to her girlfriend. She took Amity's hands and looked deeply into her eyes.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay on your own?" Luz asked in concern.
Amity chuckled an empty chuckle and gently caressed Luz's cheek. She gave the human a reassuring smile as she stared lovingly into Luz's eyes.
"You don't have to worry about me, Batata," the abomination witch assured Luz and sighed. "I may be making a big deal out of this, but the potential investors coming aren't that many."
Amity let that hang in the air, and everyone became uneasy.
Since it became public that Odalia was aware of Belos's plans and willingly helped him, the Blight name has become tarnished.
It was still a wonder that Alador was even allowed on the Sigail Removal Project.
The Hexside students exchanged awkward looks before they looked at the inspiring inventor.
"So," Willow said awkwardly, "Is there anything we can do to help?"
Amity nodded and then pointed to the left of the stage. "Gus, can you use your illusions to project some figures onto the screen?"
Gus nodded as a smile bloomed on his face. He went to the table to the left of the stage where Amity placed her notes. Amity smiled at this and turned her attention to Willow and Hunter.
"Sorry, you two," the young inventor said apologetically, "But could you greet people?"
Hunter, probably out of habit, saluted, and Willow nodded. Amity watched her friends walk to the front of the building and look at her girlfriend.
"Oh, Oh, you need something hanged?" Luz eagerly asked before Amity could say anything. "Stringbean and me learned a cool floating spell this week, and I have been dying to give it a go."
The one-of-a-kind palisman came out of her owner's purple jacket at the mention of her name, and Luz scratched under her chin. Stringbean floated to Luz's left wrist and wrapped herself around it.
Amity frowned as she watched Luz wince slightly from her palisman biting into her hand.
"Luz, are you sure you're not hurting yourself doing that all the time?" the witch asked, not for the first time, out of concern.
"Yeah," Luz replied dismissively. "My sweet, little power noodle doesn't have venom, and I some healing cream on me. Now-" She made a spell circle with her palisman-infused hand and grinned, "-Tell me what to hang."
Amity shook her head but gave Luz something to do nonetheless.
(30 minutes later)
Amity wasn't kidding; the number of investors wasn't many, unlike the Old Blight Industries private sales. Still, those that showed did put Amity on edge. Thankfully, this didn't go unnoticed, and Luz rubbed her girlfriend's shoulders.
"Don't worry, Sweet Potato," the human witch said encouragingly. "You got this!"
Amity nodded and took a second to exhale a breath to steel her nerves. She next kissed Luz's hand before he put on her best smile and stepped onto the stage.
"Before we begin," Amity said, speaking confidently, "I would like to take this time to thank you all for coming today. I know that with new information coming to light recently, my family's name hasn't been trustworthy. However, I hope to change that with this!"
Amity waved to the temp-covered item behind her, and Luz took that as her cue. She made a spell circle, and the temp was covered in purple magic, lifting it off the bike.
"The Abomi-Cycle!" Amity proclaimed proudly. "Now, before we get to the presentation, does anyone have questions?"
"Yes," A witch with seafoam hair said a little condescendingly. "Why create something so useless? We already have monstercycles."
Amity ignored the witch's tone and continued smiling as she explained. "That's actually a good question; the creatures used to create monstercycles were close to the endangered species list before the Day of Unity."
The young inventor walked to her creation and placed her hand on a handle.
"Then Philip Wittlebane took control of the Titan's corpse two years ago. He caused geologic changes to the Isles. Among them was the area where the creatures mated, making the area unusable for the foreseeable future. Thus, the Boiling Isles council had deemed the creatures to be left alone until their numbers increased."
Luz watched from the sideline as Amity explained her creation and smiled warmly. Seeing the woman she loved speak with such confidence and poise warmed her heart.
The human watch suddenly frowned as she got a feeling in the back of her head.
"Everyone DOWN!" she screamed as she rushed onto the stage.
Luz's warning came too late as the floor under the witches exploded, sending the investors flying. The human witch growled as the dust settled and the Blooburn came into view.
It was of the speed-type Blooburn, as Luz called it, and its hand feet had the large claws of a mole with a face to match. Around its neck was a glowing oracle stone.
"What's THAT doing here?" Gus exclaimed as he watched the Mole Blooburn attack a male demon investor.
"I don't know," Luz said, facing narrowing with determination. "But I'm not letting that Baka get away from me this time!"
Stringbean separated from her witch as Luz summoned the Arcle. She went through her hand's movement and called 'henshin' as she ran at the Blooburn, transforming mid-air. She tackled the creature, and both rolled along the ground.
The Blooburn pushed the human witch off it and used its claws to dig into the ground. Luz got to her feet and got into her fighting stance as she scanned the area.
The Mole Blooburn exploded from the ground to Luz's right, and Luz barely dodged a swipe of its claw by rolling to the right. The creature dove into the ground as Luz was straightening up.
Human Witch Kuuga growled as she looked around again, trying to figure out where it was coming out next. Luz screamed when the floor suddenly collapsed under her feet, and she fell through the floor.
"LUZ!" Amity, Gus, Willow, and Hunter screamed when they saw their friend disappear.
The four rushed to where Luz disappeared, but their path was blocked when the Mole Blooburn burst through the floor. Hunter got between his friends and the creature, ready for a fight.
They heard a battle cry, and a blue blur suddenly was behind the Blooburn. Luz grabbed the creature and threw it away from the others. She put her between it and her friends and got into her fighting stance.
"Luz!" Amity screamed in relief.
"You changed again!" Gus added excitedly.
Luz, now clad in blue armor, didn't get a chance to look herself over; the Mole Blooburn rushed at her.
Luz, knowing the creature's plan, rushed to meet it. Amity and the others were surprised when their friend closed the gap quickly and punched the Blooburn before it could dove into the ground. However, the blow barely phased the creature, and it swung its left claw at Luz.
Luz saw the blow coming and darted to her left, surprised by how much faster she was. She tried to shrug off her shock and delivered a punch to Blooburn's side. The punch didn't affect the creature much, and it swung its claws down.
Luz brought her arms over her head in an X pattern and blocked the swing. She grunted as she felt the blow rock her body, barely managing to keep on her feet. She shrugged off the blow the best she could and kneed the creature in the gut.
The Mole Blooburn felt the blow this time and staggered back. Luz took the opening and began rapidly punching the creature in the chest.
From their spot, Luz's friends watch her fight confused. They could tell Luz wasn't as strong as before and wondered what changed.
"I think I got it!" Amity suddenly said, getting everyone's attention. "Luz's new form greatly increases her speed and agility but reduces her strength."
Hunter frowned and looked at Luz. He could see what Amity was talking about; despite all of the punches she was throwing, the Blooburn was barely taking any damage. The grimwalker scowled as he looked at his friends.
"We can think about this development later," he stated calmly, though his friends could hear a bit of frustration in his tone, "But, while Luz keeps that thing busy, we can try to get the remaining people to safely."
Everyone stared at the former Golden Guard without trying to hide their disdain. None of them liked this plan but couldn't do much else as they knew they couldn't fight the Blooburn.
They heard a noise and looked back at the fight. They gasped when they saw Luz take a hit, flying backward as sparks flew off her. She hit the ground hard and groaned.
Luz tried to get up as the Mole Blooburn loomed over her. It raised its right claw, but before it could bring its claw down, vines shot up from the ground, wrapping around its limbs.
The creature looked up and saw Willow's eyes blazing green. She also created a massive spell circle that oozed magic.
"Leave her alone!" the plant witch declared, growling in a near-feral way.
The Blooburn looked down at the oracle stone it wore and saw it was glowing brightly. It looked back at Willow, seeing how much power the girl was emitting, and knew what it had to do.
The mole Blooburn began to move towards Willow, the vines tied around the creature doing little to stop it. Willow saw this and put more magic into vines to strengthen them, but it was all nothing; it was simply too strong to be restrained.
With a loud shriek, the Blooburn charged at the plant witch, the vines around its limbs snapping. Willow couldn't move as the creature was on her instantly. Suddenly, Luz used the Blooburn like a springboard to get in front of it.
The Mole Blooburn stumbled a bit as Luz got in front of her best friend and got into her fighting stance. The creature righted itself and glared at the human witch with annoyance. It raised its right claw high, charging it with black energy.
The creature thrust its claw into the floor, sending its energy toward Luz in half-buried crescent blades. She saw the attack coming at her and took it head-on, shielding her friend from the attack.
"LUZ!" Willow screamed as she watched her friend get engulfed in a minor explosion.
The explosion cleared after a second, and Willow saw her friend on the floor, having changed back to normal. The plant witch tried to go to her friend, but the Blooburn got in her way.
Willow growled as she began making a spell circle. The creature stopped her by grabbing her and diving into one of the holes he created previously.
Luz, barely keeping herself conscious, saw all this happened and tried to get up. Her body wouldn't obey her, and the last of her strength left her.
"...Willow," the human witch muttered as she slumped against the floor, slipping into unconsciousness.

"...With this latest attack on the newly opened Blight-Tech, this makes the tenth kidnapping in the last week," a news reporter somberly said. "And this humble reporter has to wonder… what is our hero of the Belos infection doing?"
"Turn that junk off," Eda said, scowling at her crystal ball. "If it's not only ol' Perry, I don't want to watch any news."
Hunter frowned as he looked in Eda's direction. The young man noticed the deep hatred the ex-wild witch was showing and turned back to the crystal ball. He grabbed the remote and turned off the ball.
The young man looked around the room and took in the mood. Things were grim in the Owl House; Luz was upstairs recovering with Amity and King watching over her. Then there was Eda. The older witch hadn't stopped pacing since the group had returned to the house nearly an hour ago. Hunter saw feathers emerging from Eda's neck but said nothing about it.
Then there was Gus. The young witch was dead to the world; he lay on the loveseat with his back to the group. Every once in a while, the boy's body would move, a shake here and jolt there. Hunter knew his best friend was crying silently, worried for his oldest friend's well-being.
Hunter wasn't in much better shape himself; if his training hadn't taken over, he would be a worried mess with his girlfriend in the arms of an enemy they barely knew anything about.
"What do we do now?" Hunter asked, louder than he intended.
"Heck, if I know, kid," Eda replied, plopping down next to grimwalker.
Hunter watched from the corner of his eye as the older witch took an elixir from her hair. She downed it in one go and didn't even react to its bitter taste.
Hunter was about to say something when the sound of footsteps drew everyone's attention to the door leading to the hallway. Luz entered the living room a second later, a determined look on her face as she scanned the area.
She went to the chest near the door where Hooty once rested and began looking through it. Hunter, Gus, and Eda heard more footsteps, and Amity, with King in her arms, came into view a second later.
Amity gave her friends a quick nod and set King down as she went over to her girlfriend's side, concern written all over her face.
"Luz," the young inventor spoke calmly, "I don't think you should be up and moving around yet. You took a big hit early."
"Sorry, Amity," Luz said quickly, "But with Willow in trouble, I can't sit still and rest. And with the version my Otosan gave me, I think I know how to use my new form. Aha!"
With a wild grin, Luz pulled something from the chest and faced her friends. In the human's hand was a spear but without the blade. Everyone stared at the item and then turned their attention to Luz.
Eda sighed and stood up. She went over to her surrogate daughter and looked down at her in concern.
"Kid," the ex-wild witch said slowly, "I know you want to help. And I get that you're probably itching for some payback, but you don't even know where to start looking."
Luz frowned as she realized Eda was right. Still, she was determined to find her best friends; all she needs is a lead.
Suddenly, like answering her unspoken prayer, a familiar bee-like creature zoomed in through the open window. Everyone gasped when Clover came rushing over to Luz.
"Clover!" the human exclaimed happily. "Did Willow send you?"
The bee palisman did its version of a nod by bobbing up and down. Luz grinned at this and looked at Hunter.
"Hunter," Luz seriously said, "Before I go, I need your help with something."
Hunter blinked twice and then nodded awkwardly.

Willow moved her tied-up arms slightly as she watched calmly as one of the knights walked around the witches and demons her Blooburn had captured.
She couldn't help but feel a little weirded out; the mysterious witch was a near-dead ringer to her childhood friend's mother.
And it wasn't just the physical appearance either; the way the witch held herself reminded Willow of Odalia. She even has a condescending air about her that sparked Willow's anger.
Whatever anger was building within Willow was snuffed out when she heard a young voice whimpering. She looked to her right and frowned when she saw a baby-class student with blonde hair and blue eyes crying softly.
Willow smiled as she said reassuringly, "Don't worry, my friend Luz will be here soon."
"And, pray tell, how did you come to that conclusion?" the knight asked, suddenly looming over Willow.
Willow stared indifferently into the witch's eyes, and Lady Blighttorne could not help but be impressed with what she saw.
"My, you're quite the courageous one," the lady knight said, a hint of respect in her voice. "And it's not just false bravo. You must have experienced great turmoil to gain such courage."
Lady Blighttorne crouched low so she was looking Willow in the eyes. The witchling could see something in the age-old witch's eyes, and the malice she saw in the female knight's eyes scared her.
"But know, unlike my dear captain, I can ruthless when someone's crosses me. So, know you're place, child," Lady Blighttorne said menacingly. "Even if your friend would find me, I had witnessed that my Blooburn is more than a match for her."
The lady knight drew herself to her full height and turned her attention to the young baby-class witchling. She began a spell circle, and Willow watched as the witchling squirmed fearfully.
"Why are you doing this?" Willow suddenly asked. "What do you want?"
Lady Blighttorne stopped her spell circle and looked at Willow with a menacing smile.
"What we want is quite simple," the lady knight said coldly. "We want the land that was taken from us long ago."
Willow stared at Lady Blighttorne with confusion. The female knight saw this and let out a soft sigh.
"Despite what the dear captain said, we of the Order of The Burning Knights came from this Island," Lady Blightthorne clarified, "But those around us were jealous of our magic and drove us from our land. So, I ask you, young one, why not reclaim what is rightfully ours?"
Willow was silent as she processed all this new information. Lady Blighttorne took the witch's silence as her cue to continue her work and turned her attention back to the witchling.
The female knight didn't even get a chance to start a spell circle as a familiar noise filled the air. Willow beamed as she knew what that noise meant. Lady Blightthorne also recognized the noise, scowling as she looked past Willow.
"...I must say, that child's a stubborn one," the lady knight muttered in disdain. "How did she find us, I wonder?"
Willow grinned as she knew the reason but didn't brag about it. Instead, she watched the female make a spell circle, extending it to form a portal. She stepped through the portal, and the Mole Blooburn emerged a few seconds later.
Luz arrived at the scene a few seconds later and dismounted her bike. She took off her helmet and summoned the Arcle.
"Henshin!" Luz screamed after going through her hand motions.
The human thrust her arms out to her side, and the blue form of Kuuga materialized around her. She grabbed the body of the broken spear from her bike and gave it a quick twirl. The spear morphed into a blue staff, and she held it out, the ends extending a good foot.
Luz brought her new weapon close to her chest and grabbed it with her other hand. She eyed her opponent as the Blooburn did the same.
"Fighting this creature has proven to be a difficult one, as you know," She heard Hunter's words in her head. "The problem is that the creature is basically untouchable while it travels underground."
With a battle cry, Luz charged in, taking a swing with her staff. The blooburn backflipped to dodge the attack and then dove into the ground. Human Witch Kuuga got away from the captives and got into a fighting stance.
"What I'm about to say is risky, but it is the only chance you might have to mount a successful counterattack. There should be a small window when the creature is about to come up for an attack. If you can take the opening, you should be able to use your blue form's speed to keep ahead of the Blooburn."
Luz exhaled slowly and tightened her grip on her staff. She began circling, trying to keep all of her sides covered. Luz suddenly darted to her right as the Blooburn came up from her left. She then slammed her staff into the creature's side, sending the creature flying.
"If you managed to get the creature out of the ground, keep it above ground at all costs."
Luz chased after the Blooburn as it landed on its feet, giving it another swing of her staff. The mole-liked creature parried the staff and thrust its right claw at Luz's waist. The human witch jumped back, flying back three feet.
Luz saw the Blooburn trying to dive into the ground again and acted fast. She closed the gap and swung with her staff. The mole-like creature ducked the attack and jolted up, slashing its claws against Luz's chest.
Sparks flew off of Luz's armor as she flew back and hit the ground hard. The human witch groaned as she tried to shake off the pain and get back on her feet. Unfortunately, the Mole Blooburn used this time to backflip and dive into the ground.
Luz finally got onto her feet and looked around. She growled when she saw the creature had gone underground again. She planted her feet firmly on the ground and tried to figure out where Blooburn would emerge next.
She gasped when she felt the ground under her feet shift and dove forward a second before the ground under her collapsed. She rolled on the ground and jumped to her feet. She looked behind her and saw the hole the Blooburn made.
Luz felt the ground shift again and hopped to her right. She jumped back when she felt the ground shift, and the Mole-like creature burst through the ground. The Blooburn was in the air and couldn't dodge Luz's next swing, hitting the creature's left arm.
The creature hit the ground hard but shook off the pain as it stood up, clutching its left arm. It growled and held out its good claws, charging them with energy.
Luz saw what was about to happen and readied herself; she began twirling her staff in front of her, charging it with energy.
The Mole Blooburn screamed a war cry as it slashed down, sending half-buried crescent energy blades at Kuuga. Luz held her ground and leaped forward when the attack was close, soaring over it. With a scream, Luz thrust her staff forward, striking the Blooburn in the core.
The mole-like creature went flying back and landed on its back hard. It began to thrash about as its blood-vein flickered and its core cracking. It let out one final scream as its core shattered, and the creature exploded a second later.
Luz let out a quick breath of air, changing back to normal. She placed the spear on her shoulder as she went to help the capture witches. Unknown to Luz was Lady Blightthorne watching from a safe distance.
"...Once again, Kuuga, you surprised me," the female knight said, the disdain in her voice evident. "But, I will find your flaw soon enough."
She then made a portal and stepped through it.
(A few days later)
"Yes, and thank you for your investment," Amity said, speaking through a crow. "No sir, I will not ask Luz Noceda to endorse my product."
She ended the call and let the crow go. She then looked at the items on her workbench. She frowned as she ran a finger over the rod and stared at the sword handle, looking for imperfections.
"Will these be okay for Luz to use?" Amity contemplated as she held up the rod.
"Amity!"
Startled, the young investor looked at her workstation's door and saw Willow walk in. She frowned in concern as her childhood friend walked up to her.
"Willow. Shouldn't you be resting?" Amity asked in concern.
Willow smiled at her friend and replied, "Don't worry about me. I wasn't hurt, and the healers said I was good. Besides, I have been taking it easy for nearly four days." The smile gave away to a serious expression as she said the next part. "Amity, remember when that knight captain called you Lady Blightthorne?"
Amity frowned as she recalled the knight saying something like that and nodded awkwardly.
"Well, I think I meant her four days ago," Willow said calmly, "And Amity…she looked like your mom."
(From the Research Notes of Flora D'splora)
I fear I had made a grave mistake; I had believed that the mural was a warning by those who defeated the Burning Knights. But now, I think the mural was created by the knights themselves as a means to preserve their history.
And what this history tells is both frightening and fascinating at the same time.
If I am reading the mural correctly, it says that the founding members of the Burning Knights came across a mysterious glowing "seed" after witnessing a strange event. It was because of this seed and a vision that gave the knights their magic.
I could only assume that this vision is how the knights learned their blood-burning rituals.
I am now curious about this strange event mentioned in the mural and what or who left this mysterious object that granted the Order of the Burning Knight their magic.
I must press on and learn more about this mysterious order!
(G Corner)
The Afterglow is the name I gave to that strange phenomenon when a witch's eyes glow, and their magic seems to get a boost. And now, Amity is fully aware of the lady from a different era who looks like her mom.
