Hello everyone, I made an update woooooooo. So like I said, I kinda made up my own stories and I didn't know I could post them on fanfiction. But I surprised myself even sometimes when it comes to writing. Apparently writing was one of my strong suits when I graduated in 2022. Can't believe it still, it's been 3 and a half years now since I've been around here.

But enough of me talking. Here's the next part of this story. Hope you all enjoy it!

The trio of Rocky, Chase, and Skye were sitting at the beach with Zuma, when they had just been hit with a shocking unveiling that hit them like a ton of bricks.

"I lost…my little brother," said Zuma. The trio gasped with their eyes big. They had no idea that their chill, and most happy pup, could hide a secret of having a family member, even from his close friends, even from Ryder.

"YOU HAD A BROTHER?!" The trio said simultaneously. Zuma looked at them with a sad nod as he was trying to hold back tears. Even thinking about it makes him want to curl up.

"Why didn't you tell us anything?" Asked Rocky with a slight panic in his voice.

"Yeah, we're your friends, a team." said Chase. Zuma looked at the three and opened his mouth, and was about to say something, but didn't know how to explain it. It's almost like he regrets now that he told the trio about his little brother.

"I…I….didn't want to tell anyone about it." said Zuma slowly.

"But why?!" screamed out Skye. The sound of her voice made Zuma wince.

"Yeah why?!" asked Rocky next. The three of them were bickering about why he didn't say anything about his sorrow of the loss of his little brother, his mind suddenly began racing. What should he say? What should he do? As he was thinking the three were still trying to get answers, Zuma put his front paws over his ears, his teeth grinding from all the voices. He couldn't take it!

"THIS IS WHY!" Yelled out Zuma at the top of his lungs. His voice ranged out so loud that even people from across the far side of the beach could hear him. It even surprised the others on how a laid-back, chill, calm pup could have such a loud voice.

"Look, let me just…..explain how it happened, ok?" said Zuma. The other pups quickly nodded as they huddled around Zuma so he could tell what happened.

"It was a few years ago…when I was a little pup…."

Backstory: Few Years ago

It was a nice cool day in Adventure Bay. Two chocolate labradors pups were chasing each other around the beach as they were playing hide n seek

"I'm gonna find you big bro…" said the slightly smaller Lab. He looked similar to Zuma except he had blue eyes and had a small tuft of fur crossing over his forehead. He looked in the sand and found paw prints in the sand.

"Aha! I'm on your trail now big bro…" he said. He then followed the paw prints further down the coastline and eventually to a pile of rocks, where the trail stopped.

"Huh, where did he go?" he said out loud. On the other side of the rocks, he could make out what looked like a tail, similar to his just poking out from behind the rocks. He then smirked to himself.

"Oh well, maybe he's behind those lawn chairs" he said out loud. "I'm gonna get you Zuma!"

Zuma slightly poked his head from behind the rocks to check and see if the coast was clear from his little brother. He looked once, twice, and even three times, he was nowhere to be seen.

"Phew." Zuma said as he came fully from behind the rocks. He looked around again to make sure he didn't see his little brother.

"Huh, where did he go?" Zuma said, scratching his head. What he didn't know is that a creeping silhouette was on top of the rocks, bearing down on him.

Then all of a sudden….it leaped right on top of Zuma!

"GOT YOU!" the silhouette said. Zuma instantly knew that was the sound of his brother, as the two rolled over a couple times with Zuma being pinned underneath by his brother. He had outsmarted him and was waiting on top of the rocks the whole time.

"That was fun!" The younger lab said, barely containing his giggles.

"You got me Zume," Zuma said as he rubbed his front paw on his brother's head, he wagged his tail in response, and even licked his big brother on the nose as a sign of satisfaction.

"What do you want to do now?" Zume asked his brother. Zuma hummed to think what to do. Then a light bulb went off in his head.

"How bout swimming for a little?" Zuma said with. Zume gasped as his tail wagged in happiness.

"Yay! Swimming!" Zume said with excitement. Then his expression quickly changed as his tail willowed in quick sadness. "But…..I don't know how to swim." Zuma giggled at hearing this

"I'll show you the doggy paddle little bro, don't worry," Zuma said. He and Zume then walked from the rocks and to a better clearing next to it as they both stood in the small tide that was touching their paws.

"Ok, let's just walk into the water at about our leg levels." He said. Zume followed him as he went further into the water and eventually it went up to the top of their legs. Zume began to slightly shake in fear as he was barely floating.

"I-I don't know if this was such a good idea, Zuma," Zume said with fear in his voice.

"Just relax little bro and do what I do," Zuma said to calm him down. Zume gulped and slowly nodded.

"Now just swift your front paws into the water, and let your back paws do the same, like walking, but in the water." said Zuma. He then proceeded and began to doggy paddle further into the water. Zume gulped as he listened to the instruction his brother gave him, and followed. He moved his front paws forward and his back paws the same way.

"Not bad, now try coming to me" said Zuma.

"Ok, I-I'll try," Zume said, still with a hint of fear in his voice.

"You can do it little bro, I'm right here, just do what I did," Zuma said. Zume took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began moving his paws forward and before he even knew it, he was doggy-paddling.

"Little bro! You're doing it!" Zuma said excitedly.

"I-I am?" Zume asked, still with his eyes closed. He then slowly opened them and sure enough he was right he was swimming forward towards Zuma.

"I'm doing it! I'M DOING IT!" he yelled out.

"Come on Zume! Almost there!" Zuma said. Zume kept moving his paws swiftly in the water, and he made it to Zuma and hugged him. Zuma instantly hugged back

"I did it! I can't believe it." Zume said, slightly hyperventilating.

"I can. I knew you could do it. I'm really proud of you little bro" Zuma said. Zume nuzzled his nose switch causing Zuma to giggle, and Zume in response giggled with him. But the giggling stopped when the wind suddenly picked up.

"Woah, it's getting windy," said Zume. Zuma looked up in the sky and sure enough the clouds were getting darker.

"It's gonna storm, we better get back to shore." Zuma said. Zume quickly nodded. But as the two were about to go, they suddenly felt a big tug, pushing them in the opposite direction.

"Zuma, you're going the wrong way," Zume said.

"It's both of us, and I'm not even moving," Said Zuma.

"Then wait is making us move?" Zume asked. The two looked further into the water and saw a big spiral in the slight distance that was spinning around.

"WHIRLPOOL" The lab brothers screamed." Zume instantly tried to paddle his way away from the current that was pulling them both toward the whirlpool.

"Little bro no, swimming against the rip tide is never a good idea, it can tire you out!" said Zuma. But Zume couldn't hear him as the tide pulled Zume closer to the whirlpool. Zuma can feel his heart beating out of his chest as he swam parallel to the riptide and slowly got out the current's way towards the whirlpool.

"ZUMA HELP!" screamed out Zume. Zuma gasped as he saw his little brother still trapped in the rip tide and was getting closer to the big whirlpool.

"I'm coming little bro!" said Zuma. He saw a rock next to a buoy that was just out of the whirlpool's way and saw that Zume was getting closer to it. Zuma swam to the as quickly as he's ever done to the rock and climbed on top of the buoy, then he leaped to the rock without falling back into the water. He saw Zume still trapped in the rip tide as he was coming his way.

"Little bro! Swim parallel towards me!" Zuma screamed out.

"Ok!" Zume responded as he then turned to his right and began to dog paddle his way toward the rock.

"Almost there! Grab my paw!" Zuma said as he leaned his front paw forward. Just as Zume was about to reach out…..

"OW!" Zume yelled out. "CRAMP!" All the fighting against the tide tired his muscles out and he tensed up and got a cramp. Zume felt like he couldn't move and suddenly began sinking into the rough water.

No!" Zuma then grabbed his paw before his head could be submerged underwater. Zume was coughing up water as he could barely see what's in front of him.

"I got you," said Zuma. Zume began breathing heavily as Zuma began to try and pull him out of the water.

Then, the water began to move quicker…

"Zuma! The whirlpool!" said Zume. Zuma looked up and saw the whirlpool just yards away from the two labs. Zuma gasped as panicked as he tried to use his two front paws to pull Zume out.

"Come on little bro, pull up," Zuma said.

"I-I…..c-can't," he said, stuttering.

"Yes you can! Come on! Just…..a little…more!" Zuma said. Suddenly he felt his paws slipping….

"Come on Zume you have to pull up!" said Zuma. He almost could hear his little brother's heartbeat as if it was going super fast, fast then his own. Zume's breathing began to quicken as he tried to climb up but his cramps prevented him.

"Zuma…..I-I-I'm slipping!" Zume said. His paws were just sliding off of Zuma's.

"ZUME!"

"ZUMA!"

Then….another wave of water washed over them both….and the undesirable happened…..the water caused Zuma to lose grip of his brother as he plunged back into the tide and right into the whirlpool. It was almost as if time had slowed down as of what he saw. The two saw each other's eyes as the event was happening before them.

"ZUMAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Zume screamed out.

"LITTLE BROOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled out Zuma with his paw out. Zume began spinning around and around into the whirlpool, screaming constantly

"NOOOOOOOO! ZUME!" Cried out Zuma. Tears flowed down his eyes as the whirlpool swallowed up Zume

"BIG BRO!" screamed out Zume, but the water swallowed up his screams, and then swallowed him straight down….

Nothing was left as the whirlpool and current had moved away and subsided as the waters began to calm down. Zuma couldn't believe his eyes and reality. His little brother was gone.

"I-It can't be…." said Zume softly. "Zume…... .little bro…he's….gone….." said Zuma. His tears was preventing him from seeing, but it didn't matter, as extreme sadness, guilt, and anger broiled up inside of and it was all let out in one ear piercing shout.

"ZUMEEEEEEEEEE!"

Well that was the backstory for this chapter. I didn't want to make this chapter too big for you all, cause I don't know how you all read. I prefer to write chapters of at least two thousand words at minimum, but I might have gone over that. Whoopsie. But anyways that's chapter 2. Chapter 3 will be out later this week, and it'll follow up as I keep this going. But please let me know what you all think of this story so far. Nothing hurts to comment on it. And if you like the story, please follow this story and me, to keep up with this. And I will see you all soon, thanks for reading this chapter

And of course remember to comment!
