Descendants: An Unusual Family

Months Ago

"Woah!" Mal awes as she and Evie exit the small cavern to a nice open area with a beach that has an aging dock that reaches out into a sea that is closed off by a surrounding cliff that. Even the waters are cut off from the rest of the ocean with the exception of a large opening. From the beach there's an old rundown shack.

The girls turn to Jay and Carlos and Evie asks, "How did you guys find this place?"

"You see," Jay starts boasting. "I have this gift where I'm able to find things of value."

Carlos then butts in. "We got lost during that scavenger hunt last week and we came across this cove." the de Vil gestures the area before getting shoved by Jay. "Hey!" and the two boys started wrestling.

Evie walks towards the beach and closes her eyes. "It's so peaceful here," she turns to her best friend. "And I don't mean the same kind found in Auradon. What do you think, Mal?"

The purplette holds her chin in thought. "I think we found us a place to cool down."

"Oh!" Evie claps. "Our own patch of Heaven!"

The fairy deadpans. "Yeah! We're not calling it that. It be more like our own part the Isle in Auradon." She then turns to the shack. "We even have building similar to it," Mal starts heading towards the shack as she takes out a spray can. "We just need a little more—Ah!" the Daughter of Maleficent is cut off as she falls through the ground.

Evie shouts, "Mal!?" as she and the boys run over to where there is now a hole in the ground. "Mal! Are you all right?"

The purple teen lets out a, "Yuck! I'm fine! I just fell into something wet and sticky."

The bluenette takes out her mirror. "Magic Mirror, shine a very bright light!" and turns the reflection down into the hole. The light reveals Mal trying to wipe off some of the goo.

There was then a cracking sound and Mal jerked her head to the corner. "What was that?"

"Um…" Evie tilts her mirror into the same direction and finds something unexpected. "It looks like an egg."

Jay then comments. "A very big egg."

The egg then shakes and cracks can be seen.

Mal shouts. "Get me out of here!"

The boys immediately make their way to the shack.

"Don't worry, Mal," Evie does her best to calm her friend down. "Jay and Carlos will be back soon."

"Not soon enough!" the fairy retorts. She then freezes as the girl can hear something had finally broken out of the egg. Turning the VK was able to make out a silhouette of a bipedal creature with a rectangular head and fiery orange eyes. It then lets out sort of squeal as it heads towards her.

"Here Mal!" Evie shouts as a rope is dropped down to her. Mal did not hesitate in grabbing it as she pulled herself up while the others were pulling on their end.

"There, Mal," the bluenette comforts the fairy. "You're fine now." They all start walking away from the hole.

"Yeah," Carlos agrees. "We're up here while that thing is still down—" a squeal stops them in their tracks.

The Core Four turns to find the creature above the ground, blinking at them. It has the appearance of a bluish, wingless dragon.

"Mal," Jay calmly says her name. "Now would be a good time to use your spell book," he and the rest take a step back as the dragon takes one towards them.

"I would…" the purplette agrees. "Except it's in my bag."

"Which is where?"

Mal glances past the dragon. "In the hole."

The creature then lets out a squeal as it charges at them. Jay and Carlos tried to get in it's way, but the dragon was quick to maneuver around them and Evie did not hesitate to jump out of the way. This beast then pins Mal down.

"Mal!" her friends shouted.

Mal expected this thing to chomp her head off. Instead, it sniffs the girl before licking her. "Ick! Seriously!?"

Now

"Ick!" Mal can feel the now grown dragon's tongue going up her back, interrupting the story. "Seriously!?" she turns to it and scolds. "You know this doesn't wash out easily!" It tilts his head while letting out a low moan.

Freddie is laughing her hat off.

The fairy glares at the Facilier girl. "Hey, Big Guy. I think your new Aunt Freddie would like some love to."

The voodoo girl stops laughing. "What?"

Evie, Carlos, and Jay take a step away from Freddie and noticing this, Ben does the same.

The creature looks from Mal and to Freddie before taking a couple steps towards her. "Wait! NO—" she protests only to get some love from it anyway. "This is grosser than anything from the Isle." She tries to shake it off.

"So," Ben walks up to Mal. "You find some sort of baby dragon and your first instinct was to keep it?"

"Oh, no!" Mal's eyes widen. "No, no, no, no! That was far from my thoughts."

Evie then adds. "We actually tried getting rid of him."

Mal leads the baby dragon deep, deep, deep into the enchanted forest. "Come on! This way!" the fairy then turns to the creature. "Now, stay! Stay! Do you understand?" she takes a step back as the baby takes one closer. The beast simply tilts its head as if questioning a girl.

The purplette sighs before glancing behind it. she then gasps. "Look! Flying fish!" and points.

The dragon turns to the direction in search of this flying fish but found none. When it goes to face the girl, he finds her missing.

Mal runs through the forest and once she was at an assumed safe difference, she stops to get a breather. "Finally!" the teen walks around a tree and shrieks. "Ahh!" the fairy is face to face with the creature.

Mal, Evie, and Carlos watch as Jay waves a stick in front of the baby's face.

"You want the stick? You want the stick? Yes you do, yes you do, Mal Jr!"

"We're not calling him that!" Mal shouts.

The creature lowers its head wagging its tail as if it was a dog, eager to play.

"Go and…" Jay throws the stick as far as he possibly can. "…fetch!"

The dragon immediately chases after the stick.

Jay runs up to the group. "Come on!" grabs Mal by the wrist and they all start running away.

The Core thought they were getting a great distance between them and the creature only to have something zoom in front of the group. They stopped as the dragon was now in front of them with an uprooted stump hanging from its jaws. It then drops the stump, nudges it closer to the teens as its tail wags.

"Uhh…" was all that Mal could let out. While Carlos comments.

"That's not a stick."

Evie sits at one end of where a hole was freshly dug up. "Come on, come on," she smiles sweetly at the dragon. "Why don't you get down in your new bed so you can take a nice long nap?"

The creature looks up at the daughter of the Evil Queen then down the hole. It then hops down the hole. Suddenly, the hole is filled with dirt as Mal stands not too far with her spell book out. She and the rest of her friends sigh in relief. But as they turned and walked away, "Ah!" they're all startled as they find the baby halfway out of a newly dug hole.

The baby dragon found a trail of fish and started eating them freely. The trail led it to a pile of them inside a large crate. Not thinking anything of it, the creature went inside and started munching at the free meal. Before it knew it, the crate was slammed shut.

The Core Four are now on a speed boat with the crate. As soon as they were far out into the sea, the teens shoved the crate overboard.

The group have returned to the Cove. Smiling and laughing that all their troubles are over. That is, until a familiar squeal reaches their ears, and the teens stop in their tracks.

"You have got to be kidding me?" Mal's eyes start glowing green. Turning to the beach, they find the baby on the dock, covered in seaweed with a large fish hanging from its jaws.

Mal now wears an expression that says I'm done. "Boy did we try."
