"I don't know if they will accept this."
"Accept what?" Mr. Knightley asked.
"Oh!" Emma exclaimed. "I thought you were still visiting your tenants!"
"That's a nice greeting," Mr. Knightley chuckled. "I can leave you alone, if you prefer."
"I was simply startled. I was making some gifts for Mrs. Goddard's students, but I'm not sure."
"Those look very nice, but will you finish by Christmas?"
"Of course I will," Emma insisted.
"Then I think they will be delighted with them," Mr. Knightley replied.
Emma smiled. "Very well then, I will do my best to finish with time to spare."
