Well folks, looks like this is it. Or well… It would be. I've got one more of these to do after this but I'll get to that.
So… I actually don't have a lot to say about this one. It was something. It existed? I know I had plans but like Cartoon Continuum I don't really remember them because it's been close to a decade since then and I've had stories I've cared a lot more about since then lol.
For the whole Master Armor story line, I guess my whole idea was that it was going to be a fun fetch quest fic with our four main characters and a plethora of Cartoon Network characters. Most of them probably would've been my additions rather than the actual Fusionfall cast because I was very excited about my world at the time.
But I did set out the locations for the armor.
Boots of Haste had Mount Blackhead.
Shin Pads of uh… I didn't decide what they did yet but they were in Leaky Lake. If I had to guess the buddies maybe would've been Flapjack and Alex from Totally Spies if I had to guess. Especially because I was writing Cartoon Network: The Subspace Emissary at the time and I loved writing Flapjack at the time, especially with surrogate family that isn't Bubbie and K'nuckles. This is probably where someone in the Fusionfall Gang mentions a certain hedgehog lmfao. But that was before the forums asked me to add him so nada.
The Deflector Bands were going to be in the Crystalline Caverns. They were going to be arm bands that could deflect anything. Heather probably was gonna be one of the buddies.
The Shoulder Pads that also didn't have a function were gonna be in the Devil's Bluff or Canyon and knowing how much I loved the phrase "You gotta be tough in the Bluff" back then –actually, it's still pretty cool- that was probably gonna be referenced somewhere. I wanna say I'd have picked Hoss Delgado but that's present day me speaking because he would've been funny. And I think I definitely would've picked Clay from Xiaolin Showdown since he's also there on my cursed doc of legends lol. Not Mandy, but I probably would've had her around somewhere.
There would've been some sort of Energy Gloves found in the Forgotten Falls. This is definitely where Leshawna would've come into play as well as Dakotazoid and maybe Mac and Coco since I moved them there in my AU cuz I liked that for the Coco ran away plotline.
An impenetrable breastplate would've been found in the Inferno Fields. I honestly have no idea would've joined them for this one.
And finally The Helmet of Jong, would've been in Huntor's Crest. You're probably wondering why I specifically chose the Helmet of Jong from Xiaolin Showdown and that is an excellent question. Well… I guess that leads me into description for the final chapter.
Dawn and Omi were always going to be the buddies for this one. I always had that in my head. A couple of Fusions including Dawn's would've been up for this one too. Dawn would've congratulated the CNUD for nearly completing their mission in gathering the Master Armor. The final piece is there right in the Huntor's Crest with her and all they need to do is unearth it, complete the set and send it back to the Council to be used later in the war. And seeing as it was a Shen Gong Wu as the final piece, she felt it appropriate to invite one of the Xiaolin Dragons. Omi would've been the one sent and there likely would've been banter and shenanigans involving Omi's character. Again, since I had already written Omi in CNSE, I likely would've continued with that same characterization.
Shenanigans would ensue and eventually the CNUD and the four Fusions would find the helmet. Everybody would then be playing hot potato with it, trying to get it on their side only for it to land somewhere on the ground or something. The CNUD and the Fusions in question would've all jumped for it only to start to glow. Confused, no one would really know what was up only for Omi and Dawn to walk up.
Dawn would gasp and one of the guys would ask what's going on and Omi would've gravely said "A Xiaolin Showdown…" and that would've ended part 1.
Part 2 would've been a Four Way, Cosmic Clash Xiaolin Showdown between the guys, Dawn's Fusion and three others. I don't know what the game would've been but I do think that the plan was to give the guys special showdown outfits. Not the ones from the show or the Xiaolin Robes or anything, but something different. The CNUD would've won and gotten the Wu.
With the Master Armor assembled, the gang would've sent it off to Dex and that would've been the end of the story.
It certainly was something alright.
I think my plan was to have The Master Armor appear in a later story or something for a big and epic return but never really got around to that since I moved to other works.
I'd say this is the end but a twoshot exists for the CNUD so I've just got that left and then I'm done sharing my cringe with the world.
