"Christmas…"
Kazuya sighed as he gazed all around at how festive his surroundings looked. Colourful lights hung from buildings and street lamps while an enormous Christmas tree stood in the centre of the city square. Only at this time of the year did everything look so magical - but not even such bright sights could lift the boy's mood. He was feeling gloomy over what else he was seeing all around him. Something which always caused feelings of loneliness to rise inside of him.
"Christmas sure does bring out a lot of couples…" he murmured, taking in the men and women who were walking lovingly together in pairs. He could see how happy they all looked in one another's company - in contrast to how down he felt over being alone.
Kazuya lowered his gaze to look down at his feet, shuffling them on the snow-covered ground. "Guess I'll be spending this year all on my own again. Nobody to share the wonders of this time of the year with as always. Must be nice to spend Christmas with someone you love."
Lifting his head, Kazuya peered towards the Christmas tree. It loomed before him with its twinkling lights and shiny decorations. At the very top of it sat a large golden star. It glowed luminously in the evening light with the moon looming right behind it in the sky.
"All I want for Christmas is a girlfriend…" Kazuya said aloud. "Not just any girlfriend, but a girlfriend who is just right for me. A girlfriend who I will love forever and do my very best to be there for whenever she needs me. A girlfriend who will stay with me forever…"
"Wow! Get a lot of that guy!" A young man commented to his friend as they passed Kazuya. "That dude is really wishing on a Christmas tree for a girlfriend?!"
"What a loser!" The other person sneered.
Kazuya paid no attention to either of them. He had directed his gaze from the star on the tree to the moon in the sky. He was picturing the beautiful a certain someone in his life. A person who he met when he was in a low place over being dumped. She had been there for him and helped him out with her care and kindness. In doing so, this person had stolen his heart, making him fall in love with her.
It was unfortunate that she happened to be a rental girlfriend. Only in exchange for revenue would she pretend to love him too. Their relationship was nothing more than business. Given how insane things had been since he'd asked her to pretend to be in a relationship with him, he was certain she would never want things to go any further.
Kazuya's eyes twinkled as he imagined the beautiful face of the girl within the moon. He could picture her gazing down at him with that sweet smile she always wore in girlfriend mode. There was no doubt about it that she was who he wanted to have for Christmas.
"I don't just want any girlfriend," Kazuya said solemnly. "I want a girlfriend like - Chizuru Mizuhara!"
