I made this fanfic on AO3 where I ask everyone to give me requests on what couples I should cover for one-shots. I'll explain the rules at the next Author's Note but until then, enjoy the first chapter.
Request Number One: What If Cody and Heather were the ones who kissed in I See London instead of Gwen and Duncan.
Cody couldn't believe it. He had actually managed to get rid of Courtney before the merge despite what a major threat she was, then again, it probably helped that he had an alliance with Heather.
Although… Cody had to admit, the nature of their alliance was very weird to him.
When Heather had first offered an alliance to him in New York to vote off Courtney or Sierra next time they lost, he couldn't help but agree. After all, if he and Gwen could stay in the game and he could be rid of the women who terrified him the most, then that's all that he cared about.
At first, their alliance wasn't all that special. They mostly talked strategy about who would be eliminated if they ended up losing but ultimately. After the Amazon challenge, Heather, Cody, and Sierra had all gathered the votes to vote off Courtney to which the former CIT was ballistic about as she and Gwen had wanted Cody to vote off Heather.
After Sierra had defended Cody from Courtney's onslaught of anger in Paris, Cody was starting to feel bad for not being upfront about his lack of feelings for her and surprisingly enough, he was a nervous enough wreck for Heather to notice and ask what was wrong. She wasn't the most empathetic about it, but somehow Cody could tell she was being sincere in wanting to know what was going on so Cody told her about his situation with Sierra. Heather ended up just telling Cody to be upfront with Sierra and tell her he doesn't have feelings for her. So once he got the chance, when Cody got Sierra alone, he was actually able to swallow his fears and tell her that they were just friends. He could tell Sierra was a bit broken up about it, but she surprisingly understood the situation. After that day, Cody gained a new appreciation for Heather.
The two only began to bond more in Newfoundland when bantering about the love triangle drama going on with Courtney, Gwen, and Duncan. Heather was annoyed with how starry eyed Gwen and Courtney were getting over Duncan while Cody wanted a reprieve from Gwen and Courtney's behavior in the challenge. He really respected Gwen and all, but the pit stop they had to make really annoyed Cody. Heather ended up seeming to grow respect for Cody's sense of realism and even said so to Cody's face which honestly made him feel like blushing, which weirded him out.
Jamaica seemed to be their most crucial moment as friends. Given they were stranded for a good while, they found themselves getting used to the company of each other. After making a Freudian Slip by accidentally admitting his parents forgot his birthday, Cody ended up opening up to Heather about how he often feels forgotten by them and invisible to the earth and that's why he felt the need to put on a Ladies Man act. This surprised him considering he was sharing these feelings with HEATHER of all people but at the same time, they were becoming closer that it sorta made sense. What also surprised him was that Heather seemed sympathetic to his plight, but not before shaking it off and muttering it wasn't his fault that he felt that way. That meant a lot more to Cody than he probably would ever admit.
And now with all that coupled with the events of today's challenge in mind, Cody had a confessional to make.
"Y'know, I'm not sure where I stand with Heather. Considering she's, y'know, Heather." Cody shrugged with a nervous smile before pondering, "We seem to be getting pretty close lately and… I'm not sure what that means. Are we friends or something like that? I mean… I guess we are but I feel like it might be more than that."
Cody looked around the confessional nervously before speaking up again, "She seemed really concerned when I got caught by the Ripper. I mean, I understand it's because she lost a teammate for the challenge but from what I saw on the monitors, she seemed panicked."
"Did the thought of never seeing me again… hurt her?" Cody's eyes widened.
Suddenly the door to the confessional opened and Heather walked in much to Cody's shock.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't lock the door." Cody cried out in horror.
"Relax geek face, the lock's busted." Heather rolled her eyes before gaining a more concerned look, "Are you… doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm doing fine." Cody admitted nervously as he blushed, he didn't know why, but Heather had been making him blush a lot lately.
"Good." Heather brightened up before shaking her head, "I mean… if that rat Ezekiel had mangled you in any way, you probably wouldn't be useful in any more challenges so… it's good you're okay."
"Yeah…" Cody rubbed the back of his head nervously, "It's good to be okay."
Heather and Cody stared at each other for a bit before Heather broke the ice.
"I was… kinda worried about you." Heather tapped her index fingers together nervously, "I don't exactly trust Chris to make this challenge safe and I'd rather you not be killed."
"Coming from you, that means a lot." Cody smiled as he blushed again.
Heather and Cody stared at each other and as if by having the same moment of reflection, Heather pulled Cody closer to her and kissed him passionately. Cody was shocked, but immediately kissed back. He finally found the answer to all the weirdness he's been feeling and as of now, he couldn't complain.
Little did they know, peeking into the entrance of the confessional, Tyler had seen the whole thing.
Author's Note: I had to give some exposition to make sure this didn't come out of nowhere, so I made sure to explain how Cody and Heather got to this point.
And now for the rules of making requests:
1. I will not do smut- I am a SFW writer. There might be some suggestive elements if requested(or depending on the character) but I will NOT write smut.
2. No illegal ships- Basically I won't do any Chris x Contestant or Gen 1-3 characters x Reboot characters but anything else is fair game.
3. M/M, M/F, F/F are all allowed. Go crazy.
4. I will mostly do requests that I feel are interesting or ones that I feel I can make the most in-character.
