Land of Wano; Onigashima 20 years ago

A young girl sat in a cave chained to a massive rock as they sat in silence, the only sound being the complete quiet of her confinement. Her stomach growled loudly as they hadn't eaten anything since that weird fruit tasted gross and bitter. The young girl ignored her stomach and looked down at Oden's logbook, her bible, her only salvation in this prison her father put her in. She felt her eyes water before she wiped them clean as she looked around her prison.

"I'm going to liberate Wano. I'll leave this place, gather allies and friends, come back, beat my stupid old man, liberate this country, and open the borders."

Yamato looked down at her chains and then the rock behind her using what strength she had she began banging the chains against the rock hard for the next several minutes to break them. She kept going until she heard a loud *Clank* causing her to look down, a smile came to her face at her broken restraints she got up and twirled her wrist before a look of resolution came to her face as she knew what she had to do. Yamato looked around before twirling her wrist feeling free of her cuffs as she grabbed Oden's log book before looking for a way out of her prison. She saw a small hole that was her size so with the log book clutched tight to her chest she squeezed through the crawl space and was greeted by the cool air of Wano as her large orange eyes drank in the beautiful star-filled night sky but as pretty as the stars were she had to refocus and find a way out. Yamato left the cave behind as she headed to the port hoping she could stow away on one of the ships when it left on an expedition tomorrow. The girl looked around before seeing a few feet away was her kanabo club making her smile as she didn't question why no one had moved it.

Yamato made her way through the streets of Onigashima in the dead of night doing her best to find the port and stowaway but it was harder than she thought as she hadn't been out much or at all in Onigashima so it was easy to say she was lost and hungry.

*Groan*

Yamato clutched her stomach as she continued walking through the empty night streets wearing the mask that she wore during Oden's execution and carrying her kanabo which she had grabbed after she escaped however her nose then caught a whiff of something salty in the air and it wasn't any food so it had to have been the ocean. With a smile on her face, she began running at top speed until she found her destination; the port of Onigashima. Yamato looked around at all the ships of the Animal Kingdom Pirates currently docked and figured any of them would do as she figured they'd go to sea tomorrow. Hence, she climbed the ship ladder with the logbook in tow went below deck hid among the supplies then promptly fell asleep.

Next Morning

Yamato groggily opened her eyes as she felt herself rocking so she got up feeling her surroundings and to her relief, she was still aboard one of the ships which meant they were moving. Yamato hid herself further back in the cargo below deck and kept her haki suppressed until she was sure it was safe but she was still starving so she did her best to quietly scavenge the boxes hoping for any food at all however that was looking less and less like a possibility until she saw something in one barrel that was lightly opened most likely from an inspection of cargo so she peaked inside and to her joy there were some apples in there. She reached into the barrel and started eating as much as she could to quell her hunger by the time she was done the cargo hold was full of discarded apple cores.

*BURP*

Yamato quickly covered her mouth and hoped no one on the upper deck heard that she kept quiet for a moment as the wood above her creaked with various footsteps of its crew Yamato held her breath before she let out a sigh of relief as no one came down to investigate. She then looked down and noticed all the apple cores at and around her feet she quickly picked them up and put them back in the barrel before finding a place among the multitude of boxes and supplies as she took a nap on her fruit-filled stomach.

Nightfall

Yamato awoke from her nap and looked around since she was still on the ship it was safe to say that none of the crew had found her plus it was hushed on top so she surmised that this would be her best chance to get away so wearing her mask she grabbed Oden's Logbook along with her kanabo and stealthy went to the ship's upper deck. When she made her way up top she saw the crew was asleep from a successful raid on a ship as there were booze bottles and plates of uneaten food everywhere and as much as Yamato would've eaten the leftovers her real prize was a few feet away in the form of the lifeboat which made her smile. She made her way over carefully walking over the passed-out forms of the crew when she heard a loud snort and incoherent rumbling making her turn around and see the captain whom she hadn't seen before but unbeknownst to her he was one of Kaido's newest recruits; Sasaki.

Yamato finally made her way to the boat where she gently set the logbook in also rolling her kanabo in before lowering herself down into the water and using a knife she'd gotten off one of the passed-out crew members cut the rope and then pushed off the ship giving her momentum as the boat drifted away with Yamato hiding under the tarp as the small vessel drifted away under the dead of night.

Several Weeks Later

Yamato who had been asleep was rudely awakening when rays of sunlight hit her eyes making her crack them open as she saw several faces looking at her two males and one female.

"Hey little girl you okay?"

One of the men asked.

Yamato backed up and away clearly unsure of the group's intentions toward her.

"What's with the horns kid? You wearing a costume or something?"

Yamato wasn't sure how to respond before the woman smacked him upside his head.

*SMACK*

"Ow!"

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Me?"

"Yes, you. You don't just ask a girl something like that."

"It's a genuine question."

"Not a costume."

"Huh?"

The group turned to Yamato who finally looked up at all of them.

"The horns are real. I was born with them."

"Wow."

The girl from earlier glared at her friend before grabbing and twisting his ear.

"Ow!Ow!Ow! ."

"Let his ear go Alexia. I'm sure John's learned his lesson."

Alexia relented and released his ear as John soothed his red ear before glaring at her.

"Seriously what is your damage?"

"Hmph."

"Come on you two that's enough. Now little one what's your name?"

Yamato looked back and forth before she decided on an answer.

"I'm Kozuki Oden but you can also call me Yamato."

The three fishermen looked at each other and then back at Yamato.

"So you wanna be called a guy's name?"

Yamato nodded.

"That's unique."
Before John could say anything else Alexia glared at him, immediately shut him up.

"Well then Oden. Are you hungry? We're about to take our haul to the port of Galerie."

Yamato's stomach growled loudly giving the fishing group their answer as they set sail with Yamato and all her belongings brought aboard the fishing boat. As the crew traveled Yamato sat in silence unsure of what to say until she felt a tap on her shoulder making her turn around to see Alexia.

"Yamato-chan~ Come and sit in Onee-sans lap."

She motioned for her lap to which Yamato looked away nervously until Alexia scooped her up and set Yamato in her lap as she started stroking her hair.

"You're so cute Yamato."

"T-Thank you."

The rest of the trip was quiet as Yamato had fallen asleep in Alexia's lap as the rocking of the boat and the sound of the waves had lulled the little Oni to sleep. When they finally arrived Alexia gently shook Yamato awake.

"Yamato-chan. Yamato wake up."

Yamato rubbed her eyes as the sight of a massive port town full of hustle and bustle greeted her. Yamato smiled as she grabbed her things and quickly took off eager to see the entire port town.

"S-Should we stop her?"

"I-I mean we could but we don't wanna be late for our delivery."

"I guess. I hope Yamato-chan is alright."

Yamato continued to explore the harbor while still wearing her mask and clutching Oden's logbook with her kanabo; Takeru in her other hand ran through the port mainly trying to find another ship that was hopefully leaving the New World and then to her joy she found what she was looking for a massive ship and more importantly it had a Jolly Roger. The flag's symbol was a realistic-looking skull with a pair of crossed sabers behind it. It has two red stripes with black outlines that cross diagonally across the skull's left eye socket and its jaw is open. Yamato saw that the plank was down and no one was on board indicating that the crew was probably out in the port so she snuck aboard and figured like last time she'd below however her stomach growled again so she began to scavenge until she found what she was looking for; some barrels of fruit to her joy she grabbed Takeru and smashed the top open and started eating away until the sound of boots on wood got her attention.

Yamato turned around and saw a girl a year older than her. The girl had long hair that was white on her left side and red on her right; the colors were perfectly separated at the middle of her scalp. Her hair was arranged into two long ponytails with two circular braids at the end; these circular braids were also seen at the top of her head. Her white hair shrouds her left eye. She wore a yellow shirt with a brown string tied up at the collar with long sleeves and the shirt stopped at her upper thighs additionally she wore light gray headphones on her ears.

"Hey! What're you doing eating our stuff?!"
