Authors Notes- At long last I have finally returned to this story. Sorry it took me forever to get back to this story. Life you know? But as you can gather I don't own Transformers Armada. That belongs to Hasbro. I do however own the characters Moondust and Snowstorm. As well as the plot. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter One. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter One: Crashlanding.
We're going to die! Moondust thought, as she gripped the sides of her chair, denta gritted as she let out a terrified whimper. As Snowstorm flew around any and all obstacles, trying to shake the Decepticons that pursued them relentlessly. They were going to die. And if not that then they were going to end up as prisoners of the Decepticons, forced to do Primus knew what. A shudder running down Moondust's spinal strut as her overactive mind played scenario after horrific scenario.
Cursing her overactive imagination as she looked to Snowstorm, seeing that her normally cold companion had a uncharacteristic scowl on her faceplate as she piloted the ship, as the Decepticons fired on them. And had barely missed. The blast scraping the wing of their ship ever so slightly. Okay, Moondust thought, squeezing her optics shut as the Decepticons fired on them again. If we don't end up getting caught by the Decepticons we'll certainly end up as space debris trying to get away from them if Snowstorm isn't careful.
"Our friends are resilient." Snowstorm muttered, as she dodged another blast. It was the first thing she had said since they left Cybertron, and she was complimenting the enemy?!
Really?!
Moondust looked to Snowstorm. "Shaking them is tricky." Snowstorm commented. Seeming to talk more to herself than to Moondust.
You think? Moondust thought darkly. As the two continued to fly, ahead they could see a strange blue planet. Perhaps they could shake the Decepticons there. Snowstorm looked to Moondust, the purple and white femme seemed to read her mind as she looked to Snowstorm and nodded. Looking away she headed for that planet, just as the Decepticons fired once more, and this time they actually hit!
"Scrap!" Snowstorm hissed, optics wide as she struggled to regain control of the ship as they drew closer to the planet they were headed towards.
This is it! Moondust thought, as she braced for impact. We're done for.
Things had been quiet. Alexis thought as she sat in one of the rooms designated for the kids to hang out in when not helping the Autobots search for Minicons. The girl sat on the couch, textbook sitting in her lap as Rad and the other boys sat on the floor in front of the small TV Rad had brought from his home. Claiming that it was old and that his dad had left it in the basement. And Carlos had supplied the PS2 from his home along with several games. Which was what the four of them were currently doing.
As some let out a loud groan that jerked Alexis out of her reading. Though while she was annoyed she wasn't too mad since despite her best efforts she found herself unable to concentrate on her book either way. She couldn't put her finger on it but she had this feeling that something was going to happen. Though she couldn't figure out why. Things had been quiet as of late, it seemed that no Minicons had awoken nor had been located. And while it was nice to have a small break from all the action once in a while the others were growing weary, and just a little restless.
Placing the textbook down beside her she got to her feet, and walked out of the room, stopping at a railing that overlooked one of the rooms of the base. Seeing Smokescreen, Red Alert, and Hotshot busying themselves with work around the base. Hotshot humming to himself as he did so. While Smokescreen hissed and shook out his hand as sparks flew from the console he was tinkering with. No matter how many times she had come here she was always so amazed by the Autobots, in some ways they seemed almost human with the way they acted. Alexis looked up as Blurr stepped into the room, silent as always as he held a datapad in his hand.
However, the peace was soon interrupted when the alarm suddenly sounded. And in that moment all movement seemed to cease, the four Autobots looked to each other before filing out of the room, Alexis following suit, eager to help out as the boys stepped out of the room. And followed after her. All of them entering the Command room where the rest of the Autobots were.
"Is it a Minicon?" Hotshot asked. Alexis couldn't help but hear the hope in his voice as he asked this.
Obviously the boys weren't the only ones who were getting restless. Red Alert typed into the computer before looking to the others.
"What is it Red Alert?" Optimus asked.
"It's not a Minicon, Optimus, but a small starship." Red Alert said.
That seemed to get everyone attention.
"A starship?" Hotshot asked.
Red Alert nodded, turning to the rest of the Autobots. "And according to my scanners its a Cybertronian ship."
"Autobot or Decepticon?" Optimus asked, moving towards the computer, optics narrowed slightly.
"It appears to be neither." Red Alert said.
"Neutrals?" Optimus asked.
"It would appear so."
As the continued on Alexis and the rest of the kids listened on. Confusion shining in their eyes. "What are Neutrals?" Rad asked, speaking up for the first time since they stepped into the room.
"They're Cybertronians that never chose a side in the war." Hotshot answered.
"Why?" Alexis asked.
Hotshot shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows? Maybe they didn't to be apart of it?"
"Maybe they're cowards." Blurr commented, arms crossed.
"Well, no matter," Optimus said, cutting into the conversation, all optics on him. "What matters is that whoever is in that ship might be in trouble."
The Autobots nodded, and began to file out of the Command room, the kids following after them, eager to help out in anyway possible. When Hotshot stepped out in front of them.
"Sorry guys I think it might be best if you stayed behind. We have no idea who might ne waiting for us, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Decepticons caught wind of the ship as well and came snooping."
"Aw, come on it'll be okay, and I really want to see these Neutrals." Carlos whined, looking up at Hotshot.
"There is nothing to see just some Cybertronians that are neither Autobot or Decepticon. Nothing really to write home about." Hotshot said, turning away from the kids. "Besides if all goes well we'll be bringing them here anyway. Why don't you guys just relax here at the base with Jetfire and Scavenger." And with that Hotshot followed after the rest of the Autobots, leaving the kids behind.
Silently the kids watched as the Autobots left, a disappointed groan sounding from them before they turned away, and disappeared further into the base. Waiting eagerly for the Autobots to return.
"Are we dead?" Moondust asked, when things had finally managed to settle down, the small ship they were in had crash-landed in a heavily forested area.
And as Snowstorm busied herself with typing on the console, energon dripping down her faceplate from the nasty wound above her left optic. The ship was damaged beyond repair and would no longer fly. Meaning that if the Decepticons that had been chasing them had followed them to this planet they would be sitting ducks.
"No, we most certainly are not." Snowstorm said, leaning back in her seat with a sigh. "We're alive and stranded in some unknown planet."
Great, Moondust thought, also leaning back in her seat, optics closed. So much for a routine energon scouting mission. Funny this isn't how I imagined going out. How... She chewed on her bottom lip. Anti-climatic... She was soon jerked from her thoughts as she heard something on top of the ship, followed by the sound of welding. Dread forming in the pit of their tanks.
The Decepticons had found them and were now trying to break into the ship. Moondust swallowed thickly as she watched as the top of the ship was peeled away, and two Decepticon faces appeared.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" The one with the orange faceplate said, before breaking out into a fit of giggles.
While the other one a bulky tan one glared down at them. "Looks like we got a couple of femmes here, Cyclonus." He said. "Neutrals as well Megatron will be most interested in this."
Whimpering Moondust backed against the ships back wall as he reached in. While Moondust was busy cowering Snowstorm had darted to the back of the ship, to where a small tool chest sat. Moondust looked at her comrade as Snowstorm rummaged around in said toolbox.
"Wh-what are you doing?!" Moondust asked, sounding incredulous.
Really?! Decepticons were breathing down their necks, and now Snowstorm decided that there might be something to help fix the ship? What good would that do? Snowstorm didn't bother to answer her as she seemed to have found whatever it was she was looking for, and without a word she turned to face Moondust. And then to the two Decepticons trying to get into their ship. Moondust's optics widening when she saw what Snowstorm had in her hand. A blaster, a small, hopeful smile found its way to Moondust's faceplate as Snowstorm aimed the blaster at the Decepticons.
And fired. And was rewarded with a pained yelp from the tan Decepticon, making him pull away and shake out his hand. This seemed to amuse his friend as the other Decepticon called Cyclonus burst out laughing. But not for long as Snowstorm fired on him, making him cry out in pain and fall backwards. Moondust's optics lit up. Now was their chance! They could escape, with one final glance at Snowstorm the two of them darted out of the hole the Decepticons made, and out of the ship. And even into more trouble.
As it turned out that the two Decepticons weren't alone. As the moment Moondust and Snowstorm stepped out from their ruined ship they were greeted by the sight of several more Decepticons. One was a red Decepticon, and the other was a black one, both had their weapons trained on the two femmes. Gritting her denta Snowstorm raised her blaster once more, and motioned to pull the trigger. Crying out as a blast rang out, catching her in the back . And sending the blaster flying from her hands as the tan Decepticon from before stood behind her. Anger radiating from him as he closed the distance between them.
Of course things were never going to be easy. Moondust thought, as she moved to where Snowstorm's blaster had dropped, biting down on her bottom lip as she moved to pick it up, only to have the tan Decepticon fire on her. Catching her in the side, making her cry out and drop to the ground. Energon spilling from the wound in her side as she looked up at the Decepticons, fearing shining in her optics.
"These the ones from the ship?" the black Decepticon asked. Crouching down in front of Moondust, gripping her face tightly in his hand, a scowl on his faceplate.
"They are they don't seem to be Autobots, and they don't look like Decepticons." The one called Cyclonus said, moving to join the others as the tan one grabbed Snowstorm, and dragged her over to where the others were.
"A couple of Neutral femmes falling from the sky. Tell me," the one holding Moondust spoke, grip tightening. "What are you two doing here?"
Both femmes were silent as they glared at their captors. The one that held Moondust growled, before raising his hand to strike her when-
"That's enough, Wheeljack." A stern voice spoke, catching the attention of the Decepticons.
They released both Snowstorm and Moondust as the new arrival appeared. And both Moondust and Snowstorm felt their energon run cold. As stand before them in all his might, was Megatron.
This is it. Moondust thought, off-lining her optics once more. We're done for.
Authors Notes- And thus concludes Chapter One of Beyond The Starry Sky. I hope you enjoyed. And this is The Exhausted Writer signing off, have a goodnight!
