Silver-white hair, brown skin, black feathered wings, and a cloud of fire burning on their upper back. The ancient native residents above the Red Line itself were long thought to be extinct after being usurped from their Kingdom of Gods, a place known as Kami no Kuni, except that there were survivors. I am the one who will bring eternal glory back to my lineage. So come and face me, if you a brave man. I'm Naruto. I'm a Lunarian!

Lunarian Imperial Flames

Chapter 2 (Interlude)

"Keep the flame burning!"

"We, Lunarians... we are not like you humans. I'm not saying this to despise your race, but quite the opposite, that is, so that we can distinguish ourselves accurately.

We possess the ability to "ignite" our bodies and manipulate the fire we have created since premature childhood. I, however... i am different.

The flame of the fire is our life and our natural element.

Furthermore, we are able to invoke them to project concentrated fire blasts or physical attacks coated in fire.

Additionally, our physiology gives us tremendous vitality and resilience to damage that borders on invulnerability, allowing us to thrive in any natural environment.

However, it is notable that, at certain points, the characteristic durability of a Lunarian is lost when the flame that burns on their back goes out, although we gain extra speed in return.

It is not yet clear whether a Lunarian's flame only extinguishes when he wishes or if there is a time limit to how long his flame - and therefore his bodily defense - can persist. Isn't that something that makes you curious?

I hope you've been paying close attention to every word I've said so far, because... I'm about to show you the next level.

Saint Jaygarcia Saturn! Gorōsei! Imu! You will pay for the atrocity you committed against my people! Mark my words! This is the promise of a lifetime!

Why should I become your rival, Shanks? My ambition is bigger than life itself. You all know what my dream is and what moves my will. I take no pleasure in hiding this, because that is my will. So… give me one good reason why I should look up to you as my equal, red head. I will be waiting for that day.

Naruto-sama! You… you are alive!

Kaido-san… thank you for everything. Unfortunately, I can no longer accompany you on your journey.

Wororororo! What is this, King? This is no time to tell jokes! Let's go!

What are your thoughts on my dream, Alber? Do you think this upside-down world is finally ready to face the Rebirth of the Lunarians once again?

Hai. Totally agree. I will follow you to the abyss of the seas and the clouds in the skies will be few to contain my flight if Naruto-sama so wishes. I will not hold back against our enemies and will fight until the edge of the sword takes my own life.

So rejoice, Alber... because under my reign, the day you fall will never come. Now come on… it's about time. And no, my wings are not made of rubber-

… forgive me for repeating myself, but you are Joy Boy, aren't you, Naruto-sama?

I said no!

That is the one thing I will always disagree with you, Naruto-sama."

~ ?

Black feathers ignited with a flame of the same color fell lightly across the dark sky, while the impressive wielder calmly flew overhead with a saber firmly sheathed at his hip.

The braids of the silvery-white hair of the tanned boy with sapphire eyes seemed just that and much more in the dim light of the night inside the unknown island.

The ten year old boy had his attention partially fixed on the ornate spear resting in his right hand. He just observed how intricate and extremely interesting the weapon was to his enhanced senses.

It seemed alive and calling to him. Crying out softly.

It's not time yet, my King. Rest.

"I feel like I should be remembering something now instead of simply looking for a place…" – the boy muttered to himself. The drop of discontent running freely in every word at the strange situation he found himself in.

Fortunately, flying so high in the sky, but still close enough to view the island and the surrounding area to the coast, he was alone with his own audible thoughts.

The boy then raised his hand to brush away a rebellious braid trying to block his view due to the strong winds that were intensifying, but he just settled for a serene expression and continued flapping his black wings holding the spear.

Naruto's thoughts fluctuated between the knowledge gained over the days that he gained upon awakening after remaining unconscious for an unknown period of time.

"If I am to take that dead man's words as the absolute truth, then my entire race has been doomed. In this case, it is advisable to seek answers about the event before taking any hasty action..." – he continued the monologue with a stoic voice and apparently devoid of emotions, despite his clenched jaw.

In contrast to the words that the Lunarian uttered with detachment, his fist was tightly clenched around the spear and veins stood out on his forehead.

The air began to become increasingly saturated, as the cloud of orange flame burning on his upper back began to brutally intensify in size.

And it was at that moment, when it seemed as if the clouds around his small, sturdy body could bear no more, that a single tear crept across his sapphire eyes, but evaporated upon contact with the fiery atmosphere.

That was the end of the oppressive feeling.

"Here is good." – said Naruto analyzing the empty clearing he found himself in after landing near the coast, after having wasted a little more time flying over the island and mapping it entirely. In order to avoid surprises and always be prepared.

The young and powerful Lunarian looked at the spear one last time and stuck it firmly into the ground.

THUNDER!

A crack was born from the point of impact accompanied by small white lightning almost invisible to the naked eye, but noticeable to the sapphire eyes that glowed red for a second and he sighed when he felt an itch in his senses.

"Are you going out or not?" – he asked calmly, resting his right hand on the hilt of the saber sheathed at his waist.

Looking ahead and anchored close to the shore was a large pirate ship with its flag waving due to the strong winds, showing the skull drawn with a curly mustache.

Pirates.

"What? So this is the monster the captain sensed? But he's just a boy!" – someone on the ship shouted shamelessly. The voice sounded slightly indignant and didn't hide its surprise.

Naruto didn't even blink once hearing that bold statement. He was most interested in three auras that he could feel moving through his senses.

The first was incredibly larger than the other two, but the second was no joke either. The third looked small and unexplored, probably asleep, Naruto imagined brushing aside the silvery-white braid falling over his left eye.

Surprisingly, the three auras were inside the same ship and didn't seem to want to fight with each other.

Strange.

"Wahahahaha! Let's go down, guys!" – shouted someone excitedly and seemed anxious as he took considerable momentum to jump off the ship, before he landed on his feet with a wide smile just a few meters from the boy's position.

Naruto took a moment to observe the first pirate's features. The first thing to notice is that he was tall, with a muscular body with a thick mustache above his lips, he had dark eyes and hair of the same color hidden under the red hat detailed with the same skull present on the ship's flag.

The man's clothes were vibrant, consisting of the unbuttoned pink shirt, orange pants tucked into brown boots, and the red cape with gold lapels draped over his shoulders, clearly showing that he had authority above others.

Finally, sheathed on the left side of the hip, kept in a kind of obi at the waist, was a long saber with a golden hilt.

The black-winged boy could only assume that this was the captain.

"Hmm. I didn't imagine he was so young, Roger-senchou. Interesting. And the quality of his Haki is also quite surprising." – said another observant man approaching with his hand on his chin to stand next to the first and smiling a little.

So the name of the man smiling widely was Roger.

Naruto's sapphire eyes then turned to the second arrival.

Blonde hair, dark eyes and glasses, as well as a stylized beard on the chin. Over his strong body, he wore a different set of clothes than the first, starting with the dark and purple theme, but other than that he had the addition of a tattoo of red circles on his arm and a sword sheathed on his hip.

He was also strong. Not as absurdly strong as the first one, but still very strong.

The Lunarian didn't know humans could reach that level of ambition, but he wasn't surprised.

"It is not? Look at those wings, Rayleigh! He must be a- Wait, boy! You don't want to do that!" – Roger shouted in warning, raising his hands towards the boy who still hadn't moved an inch, but the flames on his back had grown masterfully.

Because of this, the great pirate was forced to interrupt his own statement, when his eyes glowed red and he had a glimpse of the future, but Roger relaxed a little by scratching his cheek. Why? He saw the winged boy retract his actions serenely and sit hovering a few inches above the ground.

Apparently harmless.

At this point, most of the crew had already moved to be with the captain and the first mate. Everyone from Scopper Gaban, Seagull Guns Nozdon, Sunbell, Doringo, Petermoo, Millet Pine, Ganryu, Donquino, Mr. Momora, Moon Isaac Jr., Yui, Mugren, MAX Marx, Spencer, Bankuro, Erio, Rowing, Jacksonbanner, and Yamon, including the two apprentice pirates, Shanks and Buggy.

This was the formidable crew of the Roger Pirates, captained by Gol D. Roger, a Great Pirate.

"So you two have this too?"

"Did you guys seriously expect me to stay calm while people like you were moving towards me?"

Heavy black lightning with flaming silver-white accents shook the island as the Lunarian heir began to lightly pull his saber from its sheath.

And suddenly the island seemed like a very small place as in a single fluid motion Roger unsheathed his own golden-hilted saber previously resting at his waist, stinging, massive highlights of crimson-black lightning representing the potent infusion of high-level Haoshoku Haki being the immediate warning that the crew needed to distance themselves from that inevitable confrontation.

The giant smile occupying Gol D. Roger's mustachioed face was bestial, demonstrating without words why his thirst for battle was always at the top among the four seas.

"Hey, boy! Sorry for that!"

The man in his prime considered as a Great Pirate advanced his right foot into the sandy ground, digging a small crater and forcefully swung his saber with a single hand in a massive black wave carried towards the black-winged boy.

Naruto's eyes were once crystal clear sapphires, but now only had time to seriously glow red for a measly instant before he was shot by the absurd technique of the highest level of Haki infusion.

Such was the ridiculous will and impressive power of the ambitious man that were about to become King of the Pirates, conquer the Grand Line and usher in the Great Golden Age of Piracy.

A fountain that spouts frighteningly incomparable Haki. A single man, dead or alive, is worth billions and billions of berries, Gol D. Roger.

This was the smiling monster that stood before the only Lunarian on the entire island.

"KAMUSARI! (Divine Departure!)"

To be continued.
