Chapter 18: Tortured for Information: The Field Agents feat Ian

A/N: A sort-of missing scene from Blindside

Ian Lim has a simple life. He has a job that he excels in, a group of coworkers who became his friends. His lovelife could use some work but all in all, he has an enjoyable life. So it was certainly unexpected when the four agents crowded his workstation.

OA was intimidating enough. His height and intense stare could make you obey what he wanted you to do. He's not messing around. Maggie is usually kind and understanding. But he'd witnessed the agent in the field through the screens in the JOC. She's an unstoppable force when pursuing and dealing with the suspects.

Tiff is usually quiet, only saying things when she needs to. But she was from the New York police force and dealing with fellow cops would mean you're not a delicate flower. Stuart may have been the newbie in law enforcement among the agents but his background in the cutthroat world of Wall Street made him a negotiating threat as well.

Dealing with them individually would already be difficult. Facing the four of them all at once, is going to be an impossible feat.

"We just need your help" Maggie implored.

Stuart tried next. "Yeah, no one would know it came from you."

"And if it does, we'll protect you," OA assured him.

Tiff gave him an encouraging nod. "We're a team."

Ian could see in the corner of his eye that his fellow analysts were becoming concerned. Elise even tried to walk over but Kelly held her arm and saw Trevor shake his head. Although he couldn't look at them directly, he gave a little smile to assure them that it's alright. He'll tell them everything later.

The agents also saw the smile and they turned hopeful. Ian nodded to them and said "Well, the video you're asking for was from some time ago. I would have to dig for it in the archives. It might take a while."

OA rubbed his hands. "That's fine, we're still waiting anyway."

"Thanks, Ian," Maggie said as she clapped his shoulder.

It took two hours before he got back to the agents and gave what they asked for. The team then got swept into the flurry of the case. Fortunately, it got wrapped up in late afternoon. The analysts then agreed to have their "meeting" at Kelly's place.

"Sorry guys, I only have fruitcake. My grandmother's recipe."

Elise was amazed. "Your grandmother still bakes?"

"No, she guides my mom and aunt who actually does the..." Kelly answered but was interrupted by Ian.

"Hey, enough of the chit-chat. Do you want the details or not?"

"Dude, just chill. We're just waiting for you to start." Trevor said over a mouthful of fruitcake.

"Sorry, it's just that it was weird being on the receiving end of their energy, you know. Now, I know what the suspects in the interrogation room felt like."

Elise scooped some fruit cake on her plate. "What was the video they asked for?"

"That's the thing, I'm not even there when it happened. I wasn't on the video but Kelly and Elise were..." and continued to tell them what he saw.
