Very early in the morning, Blake was walking around the village, if he wanted to take over Berk, he needed to know its weak points
One of the first places he visited was the forge, he thought it was empty but for his surprise, Gobber was awake and almost saw him when he tried to sneak up inside
"He's Gobber, isn't he? What is he doing?" Blake said as he hid behind a wall, he looked inside and saw how Gobber was making a weapon, but he also looked sad
Blake was about to leave but something told him that he shouldn't, so he entered the forge and Gobber saw him
"Hey, uh… you're Gobber, aren't you?" Blake asked awkwardly
"Yeah, that's me, how do you know?" Gobber asked, Stoick already told him what happened with Blake and his memories, he wanted to help but he didn't know how
"Well… I had this… memory or flashback, call it whatever you want but you're in it" Blake said "You told me your name and you gave me some food, apparently is about the first time I arrived here"
"I remember that day, when we found you, you already fainted because you hadn't eaten" Gobber said
"I don't remember that, there's a huge void in my memory" Blake said
"So… what brings you here? Especially at this hour it's still pretty early" Gobber said
"Uh… I was just… uh… walking around the village" Blake said "I always wake up early, so I didn't have anything better to do. How about you, what are you doing here?"
"I'm the blacksmith here, and I couldn't sleep, so since I didn't have anything better to do, I began to make weapons" Gobber explained
"To be honest, I always wanted to know how to make weapons, but my father said it was unnecessary" Blake said
"You know, if you want, I can teach you how. In fact, we can start right away" Gobber said
"No thanks, at least not now, but I don't mind watching" Blake said
Gobber continued with his work in company of Blake, he also told him some stories like how he lost hand, although it sounded a bit unreal for Blake but he still liked it
They continued like that until the sun rose and all of Berk's Vikings began with their activities, so Blake was about to leave the forge
"Hey, Gobber, thanks for the talk… it was nice" Blake said "To be honest I can't remember the last time I had a talk like that with my father"
"Don't mention it, it also nice to have someone to talk with" Gobber said
Suddenly, Thunder entered to forge looking really worried, so when he saw his rider, he ran towards him
"Thunder, what are you doing?!" Blake asked as he tried to push Thunder back
"Ha, you might not remember it but he's really protective of you" Gobber laughed
"Yeah, I noticed. Stop it you big and overprotective dragon!" Blake said before realizing what he said "Did I… just call you 'big and overprotective dragon'?"
"You did call him like that" Gobber said
That seemed to be enough to trigged Blake's memories and like so, he got another flashback but this one was a bit different
Blake and Thunder were at the forest, Blake was trying to talk with his dragon but he wasn't pay much attention
"Thunder, what's wrong with you? You haven't acted like this ever" Blake said worriedly "Are you even listening?!"
"THUNDER!" Blake yelled placing a hand on his dragon's head but this took him by surprise, so he sent an electric charge accidentally shocking Blake "Ouch!"
Thunder immediately realized of what he done so he ran off considering himself as a threat for his rider "Wait!" Blake said
After a few minutes of chasing his dragon, he found him at a cave, the same where they met for the first time
"Thunder?" Blake called but when said dragon heard Blake's voice, he ran towards him and placed his head on his rider's chest looking like he was about to cry
"Hey, it's okay, you didn't do it on purpose" Blake comforted his dragon "It was an accident, I don't blame you"
Thunder, however, still looked sad "I forgive you" Blake said, when Thunder heard these words, he cheered up and licked Blake making chuckle
"Come on, let's go back to the village" Blake said walking away
Normally, the flashback would've ended there but this time, he remembered a second thing
Now, Blake and Thunder were outside of the forge
"Listen, Thunder, I know that you want to protect me, especially after my kidnap" Blake said "But you're taking things too far, I can take care of myself, you've seen me fight multiple times"
Thunder wasn't convinced, instead he tensed up when Blake said "fight" so now he thought that Blake was in danger so he started to look for any dangers
"See? This is exactly what I'm talking about" Blake said making Thunder realize what he was doing "I appreciate the fact than you just want to keep me safe, but you can't keep overreacting by some little things, okay"
Thunder looked at the ground sadly admitting his defeat, so Blake pet him to cheer him up "It's okay, like I said, I appreciate the fact than you just want to keep me safe" Blake said as Thunder enjoyed the petting
"Come here you big and overprotective, dragon" Blake said before hugging Thunder who was taken by surprise but he allowed himself to enjoy the hug
When Blake snapped out of his flashback, he was a bit woozy and almost fell but Gobber caught him
"Are you alright?" Gobber asked
"Y-yeah… I just… got another flashback" Blake said
"So, you remembered something?" Gobber asked
"I guess so" Blake said "Anyway, I have to go"
"Hold on, before you leave, I want to give you something" Gobber said before giving Blake his spear but Blake didn't know it was his… at least this version of him didn't know
"Thanks, but… it's too light, it would never be useful in battle" Blake said
"Really? look" Gobber said before using a sword in order to cut the spear, the sword broke in two but the spear didn't even have a scratch "See?"
"Huh, I guess I'll give it a try" Blake said "Thanks"
Blake and Thunder walked out of the forge just as Hiccup and Toothless were about to enter
None of them said anything, Blake just looked at Hiccup over his shoulder and continued with his way
"Uh… Gobber… what was Blake doing here?" Hiccup asked
"We were just talking, we both woke up pretty early and was walking around the village" Gobber said "I also gave him that spear of his, it was starting to get dusty inside his room"
Hiccup knew Gobber was telling the truth but something told him that there was something else going on
"Oh, he also got a flashback when he called Thunder a 'big and overprotective dragon'" Gobber added "Why you ask?"
"It's just that… something tells me that he might be up to something" Hiccup said
"Don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing" Gobber said "Maybe you're overthinking it"
"Maybe… but… since he's like this, he always has that serious look on his face and it's hard to tell what he's thinking" Hiccup said
Minutes, later he was flying above Berk, keeping an eye on Blake. He could follow him to see better what he was up to but that's why he chose to keep an eye on him from above
Hiccup saw how Blake visited the Great Hall, the docks and the storage house before returning to the forest
"What could he be doing there?" Hiccup muttered, so Toothless grunted as an answer
Meanwhile with Blake, he was at the forest, getting ready to test his spear
"Okay, let's try this out" Blake said before throwing his spear at a tree and got stuck in it, so Blake sent to get it
"Not even a scratch" Blake said he took the spear before looking at the mark it left on the tree "Not bad but I still wonder why is it full made of metal"
Blake threw the spear a second time but this time Thunder shot it a lighting blast, creating a small electric explosion a few seconds later
"Well, I see why now" Blake said as he took the spear, being careful not to get shocked by it "Weird, it's almost like this spear was made to fight by a Skrill's side"
Then, Blake began to analyze the spear "And this metal… I don't think I've ever seen it" he said he was about to have another flashback but he heard footsteps, snapping him out of it and making him throw his spear
The spear almost hit the footstep's owner, it was Hiccup, me managed to dodge the spear just by a few inches
"Too bad, I missed" Blake said
"I… uh" Hiccup said a but stunned "Blake, what were you doing visiting places like the Great Hall?"
"It's none of your business" Blake said as he walked to get his spear back
"And what were you doing walking around the village early in the morning?" Hiccup asked
"Ugh, you're really annoying, has anyone told you that?" Blake asked
"More people than you'd think, mostly Snotlout" Hiccup said "And you still haven't answered my questions"
"I'll tell you what, let's have a combat and if you manage to defeat me, I'll answer all of your questions" Blake said
"How can I be sure you won't lie to me?" Hiccup asked
"I always keep my word, it's kinda funny if we consider that my father's name was the word 'treacherous' in his name" Blake said as he began to walk away "But I doubt you'll manage to hit me more than one time"
"Fine, I'll do it" Hiccup said, making Blake stop
"Really?" he asked as he looked back
Hiccup only nodded as an answer and got ready to fight
"Alright, why don't you give the first hit?" Blake said
Hiccup quickly punched Blake in the shoulder but he didn't even flinch. In fact, it didn't even hurt him
"Is that all? I expected more from the chief's son" Blake said, so Hiccup got a bit angry and attempted to punch him once again but he stopped it with his palm
Before Hiccup could do anything, Blake punched him in the gut, and pinned him to the ground
Toothless was about to attack Blake but Thunder didn't allow it
"Give up?" Blake asked
Hiccup didn't say anything and tried to break free, so Blake twisted his arm painfully
"Give up?" Blake asked again
"Okay, I give up" Hiccup said in pain, so Blake let him go
"I told you that you wouldn't be able to hit me more than one time" Blake said "But since you at least tried, I'll let you know something"
"What is it?" Hiccup asked as he got up
"There's no point in wanting to be one of you, I now know you didn't take me away from my home and I also know that everything I was willing to fight for, doesn't matter" Blake said
"What are you trying to say?" Hiccup asked
"That I'm not willing to follow anyone" Blake said "If I can't even trust my father, then I can't trust anyone… well, except Thunder, he has already shown his loyalty to me"
"Listen, I know you're really confused but it doesn't have to be that way, if you let us help you it'll all make sense soon" Hiccup said
"I'm not interested, I've already made my choice and it's not like you can make me change my mind you're too weak" Blake said "I'd fear for the future of Berk but I don't really care"
Blake began to walk away leaving Hiccup behind
"You might not want it but I'm not going to give up on you" Hiccup said
"I'd wish you do" Blake said not even bothering to look at Hiccup
When they got away, Thunder nudged Blake as he grunted
"What?" Blake asked, so Thunder gestured back as an answer "I'm not apologizing if that's what you want, you should probably know that my patience doesn't last much and Hiccup took me to my limit"
They both continued to discuss but without any of them knew, the twins were hiding behind some trees
"Are you sure this will work?" Ruffnut asked
"It will, when we untie this rope, the log will go down and hit him in the head, bringing all of his memories back" Tuffnut said "It's a fool proof plan"
"Alright, let's do this" Ruffnut said
They untied the rope, making a log fell but Blake noticed it and jumped out of the way
"Where did that come from?!" Blake asked before realizing the twins were there
"Aw, we were so close" Ruffnut said disappointedly
"Maybe we should've used a bigger log" Tuffnut said
"Or maybe we should've used rocks like I told you!" Ruffnut yelled
"Or maybe we should let Barf and Belch hit him!" Tuffnut said just before Blake pointed at them with his spear
"What were you two trying to do?!" he asked
"We were just… uh" Tuffnut began
"Trying to help you with your memories" Ruffnut ended
"Well, it felt more like an assassin attempt" Blake said "But… something tells me you're telling the truth"
"Yeah, why would we lie?" Ruffnut asked
"I was waling around the village earlier and you two don't have the best reputation" Blake said
"They don't know what they're talking about" Tuffnut asked
"We may not look like it but we know a lot of stuff" Ruffnut said
Blake immediately knew to get advantage of this
"Really? like what stuff?" he asked
"Like the tunnels some Whispering Deaths made" Tuffnut said
"They go through all the island" Ruffnut said
"Do you mind showing me, I'm kind of curious" Blake said
"Sure, come with us" Tuffnut said
Minutes later they entered the tunnels along with their dragons
"So, do these tunnels really go through all the island?" Blake asked
"Yeah, they really do" Tuffnut said
"And how do you know?" Blake asked
"We like to spend most of our time here, we know this place like our own helmets" Ruffnut said as she banged her helmet twice
They walked through the tunnels for a while until they arrived at an exit
"And here we are" Tuffnut said
"Uh… where are we exactly?" Blake asked
"You'll see" Ruffnut said
With the help of Barf and Belch, they peaked outside of the tunnel, allowing Blake to see that they were at the shore of the island and that Fishlegs and Meatlug were collecting some rocks
"Fishlegs?" Blake whispered
"Ready?" Tuffnut whispered
"Ready?" Ruffnut whispered back
Then, Barf and Belch roared and scared Fishlegs and Meatlug making them drop all of their rocks
The twins and Blake quickly got in the tunnel to avoid been seed
"Did you see his face?! It was priceless!" Tuffnut laughed
"Yeah, and Meatlug got scared too!" Ruffnut laughed
However, they stopped laughing when they realized Blake was laughing too… well, he was more like chuckling but for the twins it still counted as a laugh
"Huh, I didn't know this version of Blake could smile or even laugh" Ruffnut said
"Me neither" Tuffnut agreed
"I… uh… d-don't get used to it" Blake said "But I have to admit it… it was funny"
"Like that time we made Snotlout think he was going to die?" Tuffnut asked
"You really managed to make him think that?" Blake said "I wish I had been there to see it"
"Actually, you were there" Ruffnut said
"I was?" Blake asked before he started to remember
The teens were at the academy looking to an unconscious Gustav, so they poured water on him to wake him up
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't throw water on him, tiny Snotlout will just shrink more" Ruffnut said
"How did I do?" Gustav asked as he got up
"Well, you lasted about two seconds" Snotlout said
"But, hey, those last two seconds, awesome" Hiccup said
"I got to admit, you're going to make a great replacement for Snotlout, Gustav" Astrid said
"Says who?" Snotlout asked as he scratched his butt
"You, when you constantly told us to let Gustav replace you" Blake said
"Wait a second, you're trying to convince me I'm not dying? What kind of friends are you?" Snotlout asked
"Look, Snotlout, maybe you have seen the five Signposts to Valhalla, and maybe you're going to die someday" Hiccup said as Snotlout continued to scratch his butt "And maybe could you stop scratching your butt while I'm talking to you"
"Sorry, it's just all this broad-grass in my shorts" Snotlout said
"Why are your shorts full of broad-grass?" Blake asked
"Why aren't yours? The twins told me it prevents saddle chafing" Snotlout said gesturing at the twins
"Oh, they did?" Hiccup asked looking at the twins who looked nervous "They also let the sheep in and sheep love broad-grass, and I'm guessing you're also the ones who dropped the Bird of Death"
"We have no idea what you're talking about" Ruffnut said just before she chickens landed on her and Tuffnut's hands
Everyone looked up and saw Barf and Belch meaning that they were the one who dropped the chickens
"We weren't responsible for the Weeping Rock though!" Tuffnut said as he and Ruffnut ran away
"Snotlout, where were you when you saw the Weeping Rock?" Blake asked
"I was at the shore looking for Hookfang" Snotlout said
"Oh, sorry, those were Thunder and me. We were training, Thunder fell into the water and I don't think I need to explain what happened next" Blake said
"I get it, so this means…" Snotlout paused for a moment to think but he didn't seem to understand what happened, so he looked at Hiccup who facepalmed himself "I give up, what does this mean?"
"Ugh, the twins were trying to prank you" Blake groaned
"Right, right… and?" Snotlout asked still not getting the message
"You're not dying!" Hiccup yelled
"I'm alive? I'm alive!" Snotlout cheered before starting to kiss himself "Thank you, thank you, thank you, Thor! Snotlout's too beautiful to die anyway"
"You're right… I remember it now" Blake said when his flashback ended
"See? I told you" Ruffnut said
"Right… uh… is there a way out that leads to the forest?" Blake asked
"Yeah, come with us" Tuffnut said
After a few more minutes of walking, they arrived at the exit, so Blake and Thunder got out
"Are you going to stay there?" Blake asked
"We still have a few things to do" Tuffnut asked
"Let me guess, casting more pranks on people" Blake said
"You couldn't be more right, my friend" Ruffnut said
"Hey, if one of those pranks can destroy something, please tell me" Blake said
"Now you're speaking our language" Ruffnut said
"Catch ya later!" Tuffnut said
Blake began to walk away and he turned more serious
"Am I really going to do this?" he muttered
He was starting to have his doubts, with the right plan he could do what his father couldn't but… the more he remembered the more he hesitated
"Yeah, I'll do it, and I'll better do it before one of them begins to suspect" Blake said before Thunder nudged him
Now Blake was sure about what he was going to do, soon he'll take over Berk
A/n: Hi, sorry for the long wait I got sick once again and it was a bit worse than other times, I'm starting to feel better now, so don't worry
