Season 2: Episode 1

The group stood in shock, frozen, unable to tear their gaze away from the now revealed message.

"Wh-what, how, that…" Violet stammered.

Becca couldn't help but read aloud. "I'm still here, Clementine...Can it be?"

"All this time...this message was hidden in that e-mail all this time." Lee remarked. "If, if I'd made the connection, God, this is..."

They all shared worried looks as they tried to consider how to process this shocking information. Finally Lee shook his head.

"This, this needs to be reported, we should let the police know. If they-"

"No!" Violet burst out.

That made them all flinch, not expecting such a sharp reaction from Violet in that moment.

"Violet, this needs to-"

Violet shook her head. "There's no point telling the police, Mr. Everett. They'll just take your computer, destroy the email and deny it ever existed."

"Violet, that's a little far-fetched." Lee remarked. "The police should know about this, they need to investigate."

"That's the point, they won't investigate, they'll just sweep it under the rug, like they did when Clem was supposedly killed." Violet shot back.

The others groaned at this, Violet's distrust at the police just wouldn't stop.

"Violet...that's…" Lee tried to reason with her, but hesitated.

Violet looked around at the others and they knew what she was asking without her even saying anything.

Brody nodded and they all turned to face Lee.

"Mr. Everett." She said. "There's something you need to know."

Lee was confused and worried by this but Brody continued.

"Ever since Clementine disappeared, we've been trying to find her obviously. The whole time we were trying to do so, we were getting strange text messages, warning us about danger. Sometimes we'd get notes left to warn us. But once we even got messages from an unknown person that turned out to be trying to lure us into a trap." She explained. "We escaped that but from what we have uncovered, whoever it was, they were responsible for Clementine's disappearance one way or another. The whole thing with Clem's death, we're sure now it was faked. But no matter what we said or proved, the police refused to do anything, it's like they are burying anything to do with this for some reason. So we're left with trying to sort things out ourselves...we got sent a message to look for that email and now we've found that message."

"It suggests not only that Clementine is alive…" Sarah said hesitantly. "But that maybe she's the one behind the helpful messages warning us."

"If she's still alive." Minerva cut in.

"Minnie." Sophie hissed.

Minerva shook her head. "What, it could be a trick, did you ever think about that? What if it's just some psycho and this is another trap?"

They all paused and shared a look.

"Hadn't thought of that." Gabe admitted.

They tried to think of something, anything to say in response.

Finally, after a momentary pause, Lee spoke up.

"You...So you're hoping that it's Clem who has been helping you, that she's alive and just...what, hiding somewhere?"

"Better than the alternative." David remarked.

John and Kyle nodded in agreement as Lee turned his gaze back to Violet.

"And you honestly feel that the police are covering thing up?"

Violet scoffed.. "I would believe that if they were halfway competent, more like they'll just bury things so they don't have to do any work."

"Riiiight." Becca muttered.

Brody shook her head. "Anyway, that's everything we know so far Mr. Everett. We've took you into our confidence, but we don't have any idea where to go now…"

Lee sighed. "I hate to admit it, but yeah, neither do I. But I thank you for telling me all this. This is a lot to take in...but I think the best move right now is to keep a low profile and then, who knows. I'll let you guys off for all this but, you should get going."

They all nodded and slowly left the office while Lee sat down, still trying to make sense of it all.

"Should we have told him so much?" John asked warily.

Brody shook her head. "It's not like we had a choice, who knows, he might even help us."

Minerva shot a glare at Violet. "More helpful than some, honestly Violet, you need to stop attacking the police."

"I will when they start doing their damn jobs." Violet snapped.

"Enough." Kyle cut them off. "We've got enough to worry about right now."

They all went quiet, knowing he was right.

Leaving school at the end of the day, the group all began to consider things.

"Alright so...the question now is...what do we do next?" Sarah asked.

They all shared worried looks, not sure how to answer. They had just found out that Clem was, hopefully, still alive. But they had no idea how to proceed from this point. Looking up at that point Violet went rigid, eyes wide, for she saw it, that very same mystery car that had been stalking them before, it was back.
