Naruto, a young orphan boy with spiky blond hair and captivating blue eyes adorned with whisker marks, sat in the corner of the common room. This room served as his home, a specially constructed orphanage catering to unique cases like his. Despite being surrounded by numerous other orphans, Naruto always felt like an outsider among them. While the rest of the children received fresh, clean clothes, he was left with hand-me-downs. The matron's assistant, for reasons unknown, seemed to hold a deep animosity towards him. However, Naruto refused to let these challenges break his spirit. Instead, he found solace in his own resilience, pushing forward with unwavering determination.
While the other children were being comforted with bedtime stories, he was banished to the outdoors and assigned the unpleasant task of cleaning the bathrooms. The Matron's assistant would regale the rest with captivating tales, while he was left to sleep in his grimy bed, warned that any disturbance would result in a harsh punishment from the cruel assistant, who wielded a menacing steel cane. But it wasn't just this that caused him to be subjected to such brutality.
If he ever had the audacity to speak up or even take a seat at the table alongside the others, the cruel assistant would strike him without hesitation. And if he dared shed a tear, he would be forced to scavenge for scraps from the other children's plates, but only after he had washed them. While the other kids received gifts on their birthdays, Naruto would receive the leftovers that nobody else desired. It was when he turned four years old that the Matron snatched him away, dragging him behind one of the village's restaurants.
"I'm sorry, Naruto darling, but something unexpected has occurred and I can no longer take care of you. Please take care of yourself," the Matron said, gazing at Naruto one last time. This was the final message she ever conveyed to him. Naruto patiently waited, hoping to catch the sound of her footsteps fading away as she made her way back to the distant Orphanage from the restaurant where she had brought him.
After tirelessly searching for a suitable abode, he stumbled upon a spot where remnants of human existence lay scattered. Among the discarded items were torn clothes, ripped sheets, empty boxes, and a filthy pillow with stuffing protruding from its torn seams. Resourceful as he was, he ingeniously repurposed the boxes, skillfully intertwining them with a sturdy ball of yarn to construct walls and roofs. The yarn, thick enough to resemble a rope, held everything together with remarkable strength.
He cleverly transformed the sheet into a makeshift carpet, draping it over the floor to create a cozy atmosphere. Placing the pillow against the back of the largest box, he fashioned a makeshift bed that gave the illusion of comfort. His humble abode, nestled amidst the bushes at the foot of a towering mountain, remained concealed from prying eyes. The mountain itself bore the remarkable carvings of men's faces, a testament to the artistry of the past. Fortunately, he stumbled upon an apple tree nearby, providing him with a much-needed source of sustenance. In addition, he discovered an abandoned well, serving as a reminder of the history that once thrived in this secluded spot.
He would think the mean assistance would think of him dead, but he had no idea how wrong he was, after three years he knew that too, every year he went to look at the stuff people leave in their backyard, things that they plan to throw away, he looked for things he could use to make his box home better and clothes for himself, but each time he was chased away by the owner of the home or a mob formed to try and kill him.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, he abruptly halted his sprint and turned to face the furious crowd brandishing pitchforks and torches. "What have I done to deserve this? I've never harmed any of you. Why do you seek to inflict pain upon me?" These words caught the attention of a man wielding a peculiarly short sword, who approached him with an air of false camaraderie. Concealing his face behind a dog-shaped mask and clad in peculiar attire, he seemed an enigma.
""You claim innocence, yet you're curious about why we seek your demise? Lean in closer, for I shall reveal the secret." Naruto gazed at the masked man, resembling his obedience towards the Matron. He complied, just as the man requested. Excellent, now nobody shall overhear us, the man whispered.
"Can you believe it? You're wondering why we want you gone, yet you claim innocence. How audacious, Demon Fox! It's quite ironic that you conveniently forgot the atrocities you committed against me and the entire village. But alright, let me refresh your memory. You mercilessly took the lives of my parents and countless others who seek justice for your heinous crimes! That's precisely why we singled you out and why we demand your demise! Brace yourself, for the reckoning you so eagerly sought is finally here!"
Silently, he thrust the small sword into him not once, but twice. With the second stab, he twisted the blade, causing Naruto to wail in agony. The crowd erupted in cheers, reveling in the pain inflicted upon him. Naruto lay in a pool of his own blood, one lung pierced by the initial attack, and the second stab narrowly missing his heart.
As life slipped away from him, a miraculous light surrounded him, defying death's grip. A deep, masculine voice resonated, offering an apology and commanding him to live. He drifted into unconsciousness, only to awaken in the depths of a sewer. "Fantastic," he muttered sarcastically, realizing that not only had they failed to end his life, but they had also dumped him into a manhole. Determined, he crawled until he discovered something sturdy to lean on and managed to stand up. With each step, he followed the faint sound of a woman's sobs echoing through the tunnels. Approaching a wall that resembled a cage made of metal poles, he saw a young woman sitting behind it, consumed by sorrow and repeating apologies.
"Hey there, ma'am, what seems to be the matter? Don't worry, I didn't mean to interrupt or bring you down." She struggled to hold back her tears, using the tattered rags she had on to wipe her face. Approaching the gaps between the bars, she glanced at him and noticed he was sitting in this foul-smelling liquid. No wonder the poor child mistook it for a sewer.
"No, this isn't a sewer; it's a reflection of your mind. It may resemble a sewer because that's how you perceive your life. But let's change that perspective, shall we? Imagine yourself in a serene forest, where this cage transforms into a beautiful canopy of trees. Come on, Naruto, I believe in your ability to make this mental shift. Give it a try!"
As boredom consumed him, he decided to take action, and in an instant, the entire atmosphere transformed. The once ordinary pipes turned into flowing rivers, while the trees burst with vitality, bearing delicious fruits. The sight of deer, elks, and various animals frolicking around brought joy, accompanied by the melodious songs of birds. With nature now awakened, this presented an opportunity for the lady to pursue her long-awaited desires.
With a sudden leap, she reached out and clasped Naruto in her arms. Naruto's initial instinct was to brace himself for an attack, but to his surprise, she embraced him tightly. Overwhelmed with emotion, she repeated the words "my baby boy, my precious kit" over and over again. "I've longed to hold you, to see you for so long. The humans treated you poorly, and it pained me to be unable to do more for you besides healing your wounds and nourishing you with my chakra to prevent malnutrition. But fear not, your mother is here now to support you."
Naruto's tears streamed down his face as he posed a heartbreaking question, wondering if he was once again an orphan. In response, she reassured him that he could never be labeled as such, for he now had his mother by his side to support him. "My dear kit, don't let the actions of these humans define you. We are far superior to their foolish ways, and we shall rise above their ignorance."
Naruto found himself in a state of bewilderment, his gaze fixed upon her. "Hold on, aren't we both humans?" he questioned. Her laughter filled the air, as she responded, "Oh, do you truly believe we are that ordinary? Take a moment to reflect upon your own reflection in that river, and then tell me if you still see a mere human."
He had no reason to deny it, so he leisurely made his way towards the river and admired the glistening surface. With his soft, furry paws, he gently brushed against his face, resembling a young fox with its beautiful blond fur. "Am I truly a fox? How did this come to be? Why?" A smile graced her face as she disclosed that he possessed a special bloodline because of his two mothers. Naruto, always curious, couldn't help but inquire about how he inherited this bloodline from them. She assured him that she would reveal the truth when he grew older. Disappointed, he pouted and posed another question, pondering why she mentioned he had two mothers. With love in her voice, she tenderly explained that even though she didn't give birth to him, she had nurtured and cared for him even before he was born. In every way, she was his mother.
"No need to fret about the minor details, my dear child. We have an abundance of time, just like foxes who start training their offspring as soon as they can walk. And guess what? You can walk too! So, my darling little cub, don't worry about your human appearance because deep down, you will always be my precious baby. I will guide you to become resilient and independent, so much so that you won't ever have to rely on those unappreciative humans."
From that instant forward, the lady transformed into her vixen form with nine magnificent tails. As a fox should, she imparted her wisdom upon him, guiding him in the ways of physical exercise, honing his skills, and refining his chakra control. With his mother's assistance, he dedicated himself to working and training for a staggering eighteen hours.
Kurama imparted wisdom to him, emphasizing the importance of strength and wisdom for a fox to thrive in a harsh world. Naruto, understanding this, embarked on a mission to confront bandits and acquire necessities that the forest couldn't offer - clothing, tools, weapons, medicines, and more. He deliberately minimized his interactions with humans, except for the Ramen shop owner and his daughter, as well as an elderly man he affectionately referred to as Jiji. Only a select few ninja dogs were aware of his dwelling, and he formed genuine friendships with them and a handful of snakes.
As the days passed and he immersed himself in rigorous training and relentless hunting, time seemed to fly by. By the time he reached the age of eight, he had successfully eliminated numerous Rogue Ninjas. The Hunter Division embraced him as one of their own, treating him with utmost respect for his impressive kill count and unique techniques. "Naruto, someday you'll have to enlighten me on how a young prodigy like you can embody the ferocity of a seasoned hunter, yet maintain the innocence and charm of the most adorable pup I've ever laid eyes on."
Even after assuming leadership of her clan, Tsume remained the head of the Hunter Division. Her insatiable passion for hunting was the driving force behind this decision. "Due to my youthful appearance, people often underestimate me or perceive me as an easy target. Little do they know, deception is one of our greatest weapons. They never see it coming, and they never survive to learn from their mistakes. Unfortunately, this week has been rather uneventful in terms of hunting. I've only managed to claim two heads, which is quite unusual."
Tsume chuckled gleefully while retrieving the heads from the storage scroll and returning it to him. "Ha! There's no secret to it," she exclaimed. "You've slain countless bandits, causing the criminals and rogue ninjas to believe that the forest is cursed, haunted by a malevolent spirit. They've even given you the title of 'the fiend of the forest'." Naruto gazed at her and calmly replied, "A wise fox always protects its den, and this forest is my home."
As Naruto strolled out of the building, the sight of him prompted laughter from the other hunters. "Why does he persistently refer to himself as a fox? I understand his mask resembles a fox, but honestly, Mom, I can't help but worry about that boy. He never seeks medical assistance from human doctors, and all his check-ups are conducted at my veterinary clinic. I specialize in treating animals, and he adamantly insists on receiving treatment solely from me."
Tsume was convinced that Naruto had been eavesdropping on their conversation. Determined to bring an end to this situation and teach them both a lesson, she decided to embarrass them. After all, Naruto shouldn't have been listening in, and her daughter shouldn't have been involved in the first place.
"I'm not sure, Hanna, but perhaps he seeks your company because he desires some quality time alone with you. Out of all the women in this village, you seem to be the one who genuinely cares about his well-being. Maybe the real question is, how much longer until he confronts his feelings for you and declares you as his partner? It seems like there's a beautiful love story unfolding between you two."
Hana's face turned a deep shade of red, as if her head was on the verge of bursting into flames. "We don't share that kind of bond. It's only natural for a doctor to be concerned about her patient's well-being," she stammered. After finishing her work for the day, she opted to accompany her daughter on the walk back home. However, before they could leave, one of the lady hunters couldn't help but remark, "She can deny it all she wants, but those rosy cheeks tell a different story."
As she spun around, her gaze fell upon Anko. "Anko, stay out of this. I could easily say the same to you. You practically reside in his forest. And what brings you here anyway? Weren't you supposed to be transferred to the Interrogation and Torture Division?" Anko revealed that today marked her final day, and she wished to bid farewell to her friends for one last time.
Naruto awoke in his cozy den, grateful for the animals that had mistakenly thought he would make a tasty meal. He also owed his gratitude to the bandits who unknowingly contributed to his comfortable abode. With all the belongings they had left behind, Naruto's cave had transformed into a welcoming home, spacious enough to accommodate not only him and his mother, but also a whole pack of foxes.
Kurama remained true to her promise, diligently instructing him throughout the nights and days. With his immense chakra capacity and exceptional control, Naruto effortlessly created at least six shadow clones. These clones were then assigned the task of practicing the newly acquired skills, tirelessly training alongside ten other clones. Meanwhile, two of them ventured into the forest to hunt and gather food.
Over the course of three years, he relentlessly hunted down bandits, honed his skills in capturing and presenting the heads of renegade ninjas. He went above and beyond by delivering some of them bound, as specified in the bingo book's instructions for capture. However, the Hunter Commander's only grievance was that he often took too long to receive his payment. If he failed to secure the bounty in a storage scroll, the sum owed would accumulate into a colossal mound. And let's not forget the numerous gifts he received from grateful merchants, expressing their gratitude for his life-saving interventions.
The entire village despised him, while others were completely indifferent towards him. However, within the Hunter Division, he served as a source of inspiration. The fact that a young child could be so remarkably skilled motivated them to intensify their training. Otherwise, they risked being overshadowed by this prodigious kid. Some of the women in the division even joked that if only he were a few decades older, they would gladly go on a date with him just to discover his training secrets.
Naruto, on the other hand, had no interest in social gatherings or any form of parties. His attention was solely dedicated to his training and responsibilities. Only a handful of individuals were aware of his secluded dwelling, a self-made cave nestled deep within the Hokage Mountain. Positioned on the opposite side, it remained concealed from prying eyes. Unbeknownst to everyone, the cave extended all the way into the heart of the mountain, much to Naruto's astonishment.
Kurama played the role of a mother to Naruto in every aspect, imparting essential life skills, teaching him proper etiquette, and even guiding him to decipher people's intentions through their eyes and body language. She didn't hesitate to discipline him whenever he engaged in activities she disapproved of, like getting caught while pulling pranks.
As the sun set and darkness enveloped the surroundings, she continued to impart her wisdom to him. And when the night arrived, she would weave enchanting tales to lull her son into a peaceful slumber. Though she had a firm hand, her love for him always shone through. With the stolen provisions and trinkets that bandits and rogue ninjas often possess, their humble cave transformed into a cozy sanctuary. Equipped with the knowledge of a skilled Chuunin, he skillfully evaded the dangers lurking in the bustling crowds, ensuring his safety.
He single-handedly rescued several individuals within the town, yet managed to slip away unnoticed before anyone could acknowledge his heroic deeds. One notable incident involved saving the heiress of the Hyuuga Clan from a potential kidnapping. Although she caught a glimpse of his identity and discovered his name, he also valiantly confronted a group of bullies who were causing trouble for the daughter of Council member Haruno. Right from the start, he disguised himself using the Henge Jutsu and escorted her to the hospital, assuming a different persona. It was undeniable that the bullies had misjudged him.
As he strolled alongside the nurse towards a cozy room where she could finally find some rest, he couldn't help but smile. Gently settling her down on the bed assigned to her, he gazed at her with admiration. "Can you believe those ignorant souls who tried to shame her for having a prominent forehead? How foolish! In my eyes, it's a sign of great intelligence. And not to mention, she's absolutely stunning. If she permits, I would gladly plant a tender kiss on her forehead."
As he employed the body flicker technique to vanish, his mother's relentless teasing about his newfound crush was unrelenting. She found it absolutely amusing that the one who was always feared by others had fallen for a girl he had just met. Naruto, revealing his youthful innocence, insisted that he didn't have a crush on her. However, his blushing cheeks betrayed his true feelings, and his mother wasted no time in reminding him of that fact.
Hinata was well aware of the identity of her savior, who had rescued her from the clutches of the criminals masquerading as potential business associates for her clan. On the other hand, Sakura discovered that her rescuer possessed striking features - short hair that was a shade of red so dark it almost appeared black, and eyes that mirrored the same intensity. The nurse couldn't help but express her astonishment at how a young child like him could effortlessly carry Sakura to her room.
Naruto reminisced about his eighth birthday, a milestone that marked eight years since his birth. It was on this special day that he returned to his humble abode, only to find the wise old man, Jiji, patiently waiting for him on one of the worn-out chairs. "Ah, Naruto, my boy, this is your dwelling. Despite its cave-like appearance, one could easily mistake it for a cozy home. The furniture may be a tad rugged, but it's been well-maintained. Curiously, I paid a visit to the orphanage in search of you, but they informed me that you no longer resided there. Care to enlighten me on this matter?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, sat comfortably on his furniture, savoring the taste of his tea. "The Matron had no choice but to bid me farewell, as she could no longer provide for me. Left to fend for myself, I had to rely on my own resourcefulness to make a living. Now, what brings you to my humble abode, Jiji? It's a pleasure to have your company."
Hiruzen chuckled and glanced over at him, his eyes catching sight of the mask dangling from the nearby wall. "Ah, I see the hunter commander took mercy on you and offered you a position," he remarked. "However, considering you haven't completed your training at the Academy or achieved the rank of Chuunin, it wouldn't be suitable for you to carry on as a hunter, Shi."
"I've got some exciting news for you! It's essential that you join the academy and achieve the necessary rank to pursue your journey with the Hunter Division. Since you don't have a parent or legal guardian, I'll handle all the paperwork to enroll you into the Ninja Academy. And guess what? As a token of support, I'll even provide you with a small sum of money to help you navigate the twelve years at the academy and ensure you have the financial stability you need to thrive."
Naruto was on the verge of revealing the truth about his mother and how Kurama was connected to her. However, just as he was about to speak, Kurama materialized in her ethereal form and embraced him from behind. She whispered in his ear, cautioning him against divulging her identity. Naruto understood the gravity of the situation - if others found out, they might exploit it to label him as crazy. Being a dutiful and affectionate son, Naruto complied with his mother's advice without hesitation.
Naruto, a skilled Hunter Ninja, found himself in an unexpected situation as he made his way through the halls of the Ninja Academy. The irony of going from a seasoned ninja to a student was not lost on him. Despite the less-than-warm welcome he received from the receptionist, Naruto couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret for agreeing to this new endeavor.
As he made his way to the designated classroom, he had already transformed into his Henge form, sporting vibrant red spiky hair and concealing his distinctive whisker marks. However, he made sure to retain his piercing blue eyes. With Kurama's teachings ingrained in him, he maintained his composure even when consumed by anger. Despite knocking on the door, there was no response. He knocked once more, only to be ignored again. Frustration mounting, he summoned all his strength and delivered a forceful knock that caused the door to swing open with a loud bang. "Excuse me, is there anything I can assist you with? I apologize, but we are currently in the midst of a class."
Naruto had reached his breaking point. The thought of abandoning Konoha and seeking refuge in another village had crossed his mind countless times. Any place seemed better than this one. However, Kurama's voice echoed in his head, reminding him repeatedly to be patient and remember that humans were fallible beings.
Our esteemed Lord Hokage informed me that he had enrolled me as a student in this esteemed institution. However, it turns out it was all just a prank. I apologize for causing a disturbance in your class. Oh, how silly I feel now! Just then, the teacher approached me and inquired if I was none other than Naruto Uzumaki. Naturally, I confirmed his suspicions with a resounding "yes"!
"Oh no, I made a blunder! It appears that my assistant didn't provide me with accurate information. But hey, guess what? We have an exciting update for our class! Let's give a warm welcome to Naruto Uzumaki, who will be joining us from today onwards. Sasuke, please rise and take the seat directly in front of Naruto. If any of you have queries or require assistance in catching up with the class, Naruto, don't hesitate to ask Sasuke for help. Let's ensure Naruto feels embraced and comfortable in our midst."
Naruto took his seat, sandwiched between a boy emitting an insect-like scent on one side and a girl disguised as a boy for unknown reasons on the other. However, Naruto's keen sense of smell detected the pheromones she was releasing, revealing her true identity as a girl with a puppy perched on her head. Just as Naruto settled in, another girl pretending to be a boy, named Sasuke, approached him. Naruto could sense the pheromones she emitted, confirming her true gender. She made it clear that she had no intention of assisting Naruto, but he responded politely, assuring her that he never expected any help in the first place. Naruto extended her the same courtesy.
Naruto found the class to be either a refreshing review or simply dull. He had already mastered the material thanks to his mother's wise teachings, but he wisely kept that to himself. Naruto confidently answered every question thrown his way, occasionally glancing at his copy of the bingo book. At the very least, the number of challenges would multiply, which he considered a positive outcome.
Mizuki began the lesson by instructing them on the proper technique to throw a kunai. Afterwards, he challenged each student to give it a try. While some were able to hit the target, others only managed to strike the training dummy. Naruto, however, grew increasingly frustrated as his classmates mocked him, claiming that he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, let alone a human-shaped target. Without even glancing, Naruto hurled the kunai and it landed perfectly, piercing the target right where the heart would be, almost passing through it completely.
The comments came to a halt as he repeated the action three more times, his gaze fixed on the target dummy. It was now time for the class to delve into the teachings of the Academy Taijutsu Style, a subject he was already well-versed in. He had mastered the Uzumaki Style, the Uchiha Style, the Senju Style, and even the Hyuuga Style of Taijutsu. This particular segment of the class involved sparring with one another to enhance their skills. Sasuke was assigned to assist Naruto as his sparring partner, but Sakura's constant shouts, urging Sasuke to defeat the arrogant showoff, only added to the commotion.
