Chapter 1 Blue:Loss
The city was in chaos as people ran to the air docks to escape the chaos. Several large amounts of grimm were in the streets as they searched for their citizen of Vale were running for their lives as they chased them.
But in the streets as some people passed him was a boy who looked on the verge of clothing was cut up, their was a large gash on his leg. Along with most of his armor being destroyed. But he stared down the foes infront of him and smiled a little.
He slowly brought out two dual swords and twirled them ready to face these monsters head on. Because he was one of them and if he was going to make up for his mistakes. He'll go down fighting like a monster. A woman got pushed down by someone as they tried to escape from the grimm. Soon a beowulf lunged at the woman as she closed her eyes waiting for her fate.
But as she waited it fell silent and she looked up at the boy stabbing at the beast and slicing its head off. Without a word he motioned for her to keep moving and she nodded. The women scrambled running away while the boy looked at the grimm infront of him.
He looked around counting around eleven of them varying from beowolves,uras and even a couple griffin. Soon enough beowovles rushed at him and he flicked his wrist as he threw a sword into the beast stomach. It landed piercing its thick fur and he rushed in with a pistol dumping a bunch of bullets into it.
The beast fell down dead and started to disappear and he slid by grabbing his sword. Then the second beowulf came at him as he side stepped but grunted in pain as he did. His leg had a large gash on it crudely bandaged but he didn't care.
"Arlight…let's dance assholes"he said to them in confidence pointing his blade at the beast.
The beowulf growled before charging at him and the boy dodged it luckily and slashed at it vertically a few times before it fell down to the ground dead. Then he brought out a grenade from his hip and pressed a button throwing it near an uras and three more beowulf.
The grimm looked at the grenade as it beeped for several seconds until it beep one last time denating. It covered the creatures in fire as they scrambled to put it out. But soon the three beowolves soon fell to the ground dead. While the uras charged at the boy getting on its hind legs to slash at him. He was too late before the grimm swiped at him sending him back a ways.
He landed with a thud and as he got up he felt his side in pain. He cried in agony as he got up and clutched his side looking at the beast. His breathing was labored and he felt something buzz on his side. It was his scroll and he pulled it out looking at the call read wolfie with five missed calls, another saying bun with eight missed calls.
He turned away from pocketing it and planned on answering it after he was done here. The boy dug through his breast pocket as he produced one last vial. He clenched it before jamming his neck as the liquid shot into his neck. He could feel a surge of new vigor when it reached his bloodstream.
"Last one….aura probably won't kick in for a while now."he muttered to himself as he stood up felt like his lungs were on fire, it was getting hardener to breath by the second.
Then his eyes glowed blue as he started to shift into a different form as an organic material covered him and his face became covered. As it covered him he held his gut in pain as it covered his broken ribs. But he didn't care, he stood back up smacking his fist together ready to go another round.
"If you want a monster, I'll show you a monster!"he shouted toward the grimm as he charged at them head on.
Meanwhile in another part of Vale Cardin along with some others were still searching for anyone else before they left for Vacou. They searched for any stragglers left and made sure no one was left behind.
Cardin had a look of worrie on his face as he ran through the streets of Vale hoping to find a friend. But a couple people with him noticed his look of worry and spoke.
"Cardin you good"the voice asked as he looked up at Velvet running with a holographic staff out. It looked to be Sun staff as she held it with ease.
"Yeah man focus we gotta get the rest of these people out of here then we can leave"Russel said as held his daggers backwards..
Cardin sighed at this because those two hit the mark and he looked at the other with him. One was Nebula who had a look of anger across her face. Along with one person he didn't know a lynx faunus who had a look of determination across his face.
"I'm….just worried….did you guys see what Zane sent?"Cardin asked as they continued to run through the streets. As they turned a corner to head toward the market district. They wanted to see if anyone else was their they missed.
Velvet looked down a little as her ears floppeed"yeah…don't worry I hope we run into him then we can head back"Velvet said reassuring her former bully who gave a smale smile.
Neubula scoffed at this as she resided her crossbow shooting down a wyvern flying above them. Her bolts pierced its skull as it fell down to the ground dsppearing into smoke.
She then looked at the group shaking her head in disgust"seriously….that thing deserves to be here. If he wants to stay and die let him"Nebula replied with the lynx gritting his teeth, with velvet glaring at her. He stopped and turned to her with anger in his eyes.
"Don't talk about my cousin like that!"he shouted as Nebula rolled her eyes. Cardin looked a little surrpsied still because Zane told him about his cousins but still a little surprising he ran into him today.
"I can say whatever I want about him and that other freak hurt my team. If he didn't kill that girl my teammate wouldn't have lost her arm"Nebula retorted with malice in her voice.
The lynx clenched his fist wanting to sock the girl but he scoffed at her turning around. He saw a beowulf rushing them and he produdced a rope dart before twirling it and threw it into the beast killing it. Then he pull the rope dart back catching it.
"Lets keep going….we still got people to save….keep his name out of your mouth"the lynx warned Nebula who didn't care. The group continued making their way as they heard gunfire close by. They looked at each other nodding to head over their.
On the rooftops a certain snake faunus hoped from rooftop to rooftop looking around at the chaos. He smiled a little to himself that these humans finally got what was coming to them. But he was a little upset he hasn't ran into that schnee girl.
"Dam here I am given the chance of a lifetime to kill two ssschnees. And I get stuck with cleaning up Scar and his fathers "adder said to himself as he continue to moved through the rooftops.
As he kept moving he watched Atlas soldiers get killed off by Tyrian. Adder looked a little disgusted at the man. He was a psychopath along with that daughter of his. Both seemed perfect for each he focused on the task at hand searching the place for Subject Omega
"Now if I was a science experiment where would I be"Adder thought to himself as he heard gunfire in the distance along with howling. It looked to be coming from the market district and maybe thats were his prey was.
He then started to make his way toward the howling and gunfire. Once he finds his target he'll make sure to kill him quickly and painlessly. Least he could do is end the miserable bastards life.
Hariet and Marrow were on the streets running from the camp in search for Zane. They had to find the kid before he made the mistake of a lifetime. Marrow was trying to call any atlas soldiers to see if they spotted him.
"This is Marrow from Ace Ops has anyone spotted Zane Graves a.k.a. Subject omega?"he said into his earpiece.
Someone talked to him on the other end and marrowed sighed in relief a little. Then he looked toward Hariett who was running at highspeeds through the street.
She rushed toward a beowulf as electricity crackled off her. She delivered a high kick to its jaw making it go upwards. Then she delivered a swift kick to the side of its head launching it into a car. Then she took a running start and jumped ontop of the beast killing it.
Marrow looked at three beowolves infront of him and he smiled. He grabbed his assault rifle as he pressed a button making it switch to its blade mode. It looked to be a boomer rang and he turned his wrist.
With a flick of his wrist he threw the boomerang toward the beowolves. It went around in a circle slicing two of their heads off. But the third one was about to move out of the way. But Marrows eyes glowed as he pointed a finger at the beast.
"STAY!"he yelled as the beowulf froze in his boomerang came around slicing its head clean boomerang and weapon dubbed fetch came back to him as Hariet sped over regrouping with him.
"Alright did you manage to find out where the kid is?"harriet questioned impatiently.
Marrow nodded"yeah they spotted someone matching his description in the market district. He's fighting off a bunch of grimm it seems. "Marrow replied
Harrieet nodded"ok lets get over their now…god knows what he was thinking."Hariett said as the two started to run toward the market district. As they ran marrow looked over at Hariett smiling a little and the girl looked at the wolf faunus.
"What are you smiling about?"she questioned as she huddled jumped over some debris sticking out of the ground
"Oh nothing you used to be such a hard ass on the kid. But now you grew a heart….surrpsing. You and clover are always follow order ask question later types"Marrow replied
Hareitt shook her head because the wolf was right. She was always the one to follow orders no matter what. Along with putting her emotion on the side at times. But sometimes you can't hide your emotions or they cloud your jdugement.
She sighed then looked at him"your not wrong but…kid has a mom waiting for him back I could do is make sure he alive. She can at least visit him in Atlas"Hariett replied as the two continued to make their way toward the market district.
As they did they slayed grimm along the way. They hoped to stop the kid from making a terible mistake.
Back to where the boy was in his armor form he looked around at the remaining grimm. He finally managed to take out one of those griffins and that uras he threw the grenade at. But three more showed up and he felt tired.
"Dammit…i'm….so….exhuasted….but….gotta….find….Eria"he said to himself as he slowly got up but stumbled again. He tripped falling to the ground on his hands. They were the only thing supporting right now..His entire body felt like he just went one on one against a berignal with his fists. He could barely see right now his vision was blurry.
As the grimm got close his armor fell off slowly heard their roars and the grimm looked at their prey ready to kill him. Zane looked at them relziing this might be it and he sighed looking at his fate.
He smiled a little accepting it now. He went out on his own terms and all he hopes for is that his teammates and friends got out safe. At least they don't gotta worry about the monster killing them.
But soon enough a loud shot rang out hititng the grimm in the head killing it. Zane went wide eyed looking to the side at Velvet with crescent rose in sniper mode. Russel rushed in as he slashed at a beowulf repeatedly and killed it.
Nebula fired at the uras with a tired look on her face. But she managed to shoot some dust bolts into the grimm. Soon it exploded into a fiery and electrical explosion. Zane had a worried look wondering why they're still here. Everyone went to the airdocks to evacuate along with with the students leaving.
But as he tried to get up he fell down coughing as he couldn't do felt weak right now since he's been fighting for so long. At this point his aura probably shattered but he kept going.
Then from the side he felt someone grab him and lift him up. As they did he felt his arm go around two people it seems. His vision was hazy and he looked to see Cardin to his right and vance to his left.
"Their you are grimm boy….come on lets get you out of here"cardin said as he and vance began moving Zane supporting smiled a little happy that his cousin alive now. Now they could leave the city of grimm.
Zane hung his head down, shaking it muttering to himself.
"Dammit….you were supposed to leave…get out of here"he muttered with vances ears perking up.
"Z…were not leaving you nadia is expecting you back so.."Vance begun but zane interrupted him.
"No…you don't understand….leave me I don't deserve to go back home."zane said as he went through another coughing fit. He spat more blood as it stained vance shirt as Zane coughed.
Cardin looked at him wondering what he meant by that. He saw only half of his message and he, along with Velvet and Russel, went back into the city to help him. Along with running into this lynx faunus who helped them. Nebula only joined them thinking they were saving any stragglers left.
"Come on man…we aint leaving you. Look they can help you it's not your….."Cardin begun but Zane broke free of their grip.
They tried to help him but then a rifle shot went off. They turned to see Adder standing on a rooftop standing their looking at them with his rifle.
Adder then jumped down firing several shots at the group exclusively aiming at resided his mace as he rushed toward the snake faunus. The two clashed with their weapon as cardin mace hit adders rifle stock.
"Why! Why did you even do this. Look at all the chaos you four brought!?"Cardin shouted but Adder smirked underneath his mask.
"Its quite simply…I had a job to do. And I did it now out of my way"adder said pushing cardin back who stumbled a little.
Cardin them activated his semblance as his strength increased a little and he swung with all his might toward adder. Adder dodged it smirking but then from the side another gun shot rang out. It hit Adder square in the side.
Cardin looked up to see a rabbit smiling with a rifle in her hands belonging to Zephyra. Velvet then rushed forward as she changed her weapons into Yang gaunlents. She flciked her wirst backwards and launched herself forward. Adder got up slowly and turned his weapon into his khopesh.
He blocked the rabbitt faunus attack and kicked her left leg. Velvet flicnehd a little because her aura was starting to get close to breaking. All of them were tired from fighting and after this they were going home.
"Your not going to kill my boyfriend you psycho"velvet firmly said
"Your calling a science experiment your lover? Well thats just sad now isn't it"he said mockignly
Velvet gripped her fist before punchign the air firing off shotgun blast toward the snake. Adder dodged a few but a couple hit him. One in his right thigh the other on his chest. Adder stumbled back a little glaring at the two.
Then he twirled his rifle as he changed it into his khopesh sword. Cardin charged foward swigning his mace several times with a battlecry. Adder blocked cardin mace and pushed him back. But cardin lifted his mace as he aimed it, and with a click of a trigger he fired a fireball at the snake.
Adder managed to block it with his sword but from the side Velvet then used her weapon to change to another one. It started to digitize into a lute but then she morphed it into a rocket launcher. Velvet took aim at Adder and pulled the trigger.
The snake faunus then rolled out of the way to avoid the explosion. As he looked toward the rabbit he decided to attack her. The snake then started runnign for the faunus girl. But from the side cardin tackled him down to the ground. Adder fell on his side with a large thud.
But he recovered as Cardin kept up his attack against the snake faunus. Adder dodged each strike before swinging at him. The two clashed with each other.
As this happened russel and nebula were dealing with the grimm surrouding. Nebula changed her crossbow to her sword and slashed down a beowulf. Another one came from behind but she activated her semblance to increase her backflipped behind it and slashed the grimm down dead.
The downside of this was that it takes ten percent of her aura after using it. Now she was started to get exhausted and her aura might give out in any slashed at beowulf ankles knocking it to the ground. He then flipped his dagger backwards as he dug it into its skull.
He smiled but then from the side a beowulf slashed at him. As it did the boys aura shattered as he layed their groaning. Nebula saw this changing her sword to her crossbow firing off several bolts at the approaching grimm.
She landed near russel looking at his gut and it was bleeding slgihtly. Nebula cursed under her breath as she slowly helped the guy up. Then she looked around and all thats left were some grimm and just hopes they relzie that they need to leave now or they'll die.
Zane slowly got up but fell down to the pain in his side. His shoulder hurt like hell and it felt like it was shattered. He picked up the dual sword he had with him and used it to prop himself up. With each labored breath he felt like he was in hell at this point. The sword shook in his hands as he slowly stood up.
Vance ran over trying to stop him begging even looking at his cousin.
"Cousin…god dammit please….lay down your hurt"Vance said choking on his looked at him with a somber wanted to say something but barley had the strength to do it.
"Dads gone….I can't lose you again…please"Vance begged looking at his looked at him like he was scared what was happening.
Zane sighed and soon a voice rang through his head. He rubbed his head as the voice talked to him calmly. But it sounded similar to him but a little different. Now he was going crazy thats just great.
"Kid if you want I can take over. I can scare them away so they can get away, protect your girl."the voice said
"Really why would you do that…who are you"zane thought to himself speaking to the voice.
The voice was silent for a bit before giving him the answer he wanted.
"Let's just say I've been with you for a while. Now answer the question"the voice said.
Zane looked around at everyone. Nebula was holding russel as he was bleeding from his gut. A beowolf must have slashed at him. He looked hurt and if they didn't leave soon he could die. But their were still some grimm left stalking the group.
Then he looked at Cardin and Velvet. Cardin swung his mace at Adder at he effortlessly kicked the boy away. Cardin landed on the ground with a thud as he slowly picked himself up.
Then he turned his attention toward velvet as he kicked her in the side of the skull. The bunny fauna fell down as his aura shattered and Adder made his way toward his kill. The girl tried to run away but the snake faunus came at her ready, this angered him immenously
Zane gritted his teeth muttering"do it"and Vance looked at him worried.
Then the voice took over as zanes eyes changed color from dark blue to crimson red. He slowly got up and soon his body started to change. But it wasn't his normal form. Soon enough his body slowly became covered by the organic substance.
He kneeled as he smacked his fist ont he ground. A black and dark blue like substance covered him and he seemed to grow in size. Then his hand grew a large talon like claw on his hand. Then his face became covered by a monster-like on his back a whip like tail emerged from behind him.
As this happened the two grimm coming toward Nebula as she tried holding them off stop. They turned their attention to someone else as they made their way over. The grimm looked to their lefts and nebula wondered what they were looking at.
Nebula looked to see Zane turning into his monstrous form and their stood a large grimm like creature. She became scared because he could be coming after them, which meant they were something surprised the vacou girl. The two grimm jumped on Zane and he stabbed one with his claws. Then used his tail to stab the other one in the head. Both of them fell dead to the ground disppearing into the creature then looked toward Adder growling.
As he did Adder smiled walking over to Velvet smiling. He flipped his khopesh for a bit before standing over the girl who looked at him. Adder smiled before lifting his blade to deal the final blow. But then from the side something wrapped around his arm. It looked to be a tail. He looked up to see a monstrous grimm standing there snarling at him.
Velvet looked up, scared a little at the creature. She began to back up a little, holding her arm pushing her self backwards..But then Adder narrowed his gaze as the creature threw adder to the side by smacking him with its hands. The group looked surrpsied at this as the creature then rushed at Adder, he swiped at the snake faunus. But he dodged his attack shooting at him while backing up. Each bullet piereced the creatures skin but it kept coming at him.
Cardin rushed over to velvet helping her up by pulling her up. Velvet rubbed her arm because it did bruise a little and it was sore. But then they start stareing at the creature who he knew was looked at his cousin with worry and shocked creature got surrounded by some grimm.
But then it grabbed a beowulf by the bodie lifting it up as it bite down on its head. It jaws snapped down taking its head clean off. Then it spat it out as another lunging at grabebd it as he smashed it on the ground hard creating a small crater. Then another one came as it tail moved around in a fluid motion. Before the grimm knew what happened its head was pierced.
Adder kept coming at him as the creature swiped at him. But he easily dodged it since he was a little slow. The boy slashed at Zane leg knocking him down as he roared in pain. He tried to bite him but Adder dodged him kicking him swiftly with his right leg.
Cardin was busy recovering as he looked at the sight. It looked strange seeing a grimm killing grimm. But soon a voice called out to him and he turned to the voice.
"Dammit we need to leave russel hurt"nebula said bringing russel over who was hurt as she held him up with her was bleeding from the gut, he looked to be in pain.
Cardin gripped his mace looking toward the two fighting. Adder slashed at Zane who howled in pain but kept swinging at dodged another attack as the creature tried to bite him again. But Adder shot at it as it tried to avoid its shots.
"No i'm not leaving my cousin again!"Vance shouted as he tried to go forward. But cardin grabbed the lynx arm with a sadden expression. Vance tried to move but Cardin didn't let go. Vance started to tear up as he looked at another family member fighting to his death.
The group then started to move as Cardin picked Vance up, putting him on his shoulders as they rushed to the airdocks. As they did the creature looked at them slowly nodding to tell them it was fine. Then cracking could be heard from it. Its jaw slowly unhinged a little to speak it seems.
Then it mouthed words that velvet and vance heard thanks to their enhanced hearing.
"Goodbye…sorry….friends..love you vel,"the voice said in a distorted voice. The group continued on as they heard howling and roaring behind them. Several shots of gun fire could be heard behind them.
Meanwhile in another part of the city close by to the market district. A small group of civilians consiting of seven of them were running through the city with their belonging. As they did a small wolf faunus was in the front while a falcon faunus was in the back watching the rear.
"Come on this way to the safehouse"the wolf faunus said as he led them toward a certain direction. Several grimm were arround but they seemed focused on some of the soldiers around them.
Soon enough one came toward the group but the wolf fauna lifted his blade slashing at it. It fell down dead but the boy was getting tired. They been taking small groups of people to their hideout. Then after some time their going to try and take them to Atlas or any huntsman in the area.
The hideout luckily had an escape tunnel that led out of the city. But right now trifia contacted them saying they have twenty people including their people which was thirteen. With these five that makes twenty five.
Juniors men did stay with them for a bit but they had to leave. They all were afraid of losing their family. The group understood and let his men ago. But the doctor stayed to help treat anyone who got hurt.
Xander looked at his scroll wondering if he should contact his sister. But if he did he didn't know if she was alive or not. He didn't want to figure it out by some stupid phone call. The group soon made their way to a small manhole cover.
The falcon faunus watched their backs as he lifted the cover. Then he looked toward the group with alot of humans in smiled a little happy he's doing good in the world.
"Alright done here someone should be down their to lead you to a safe place"xander said as the civilians slowly climbed down the ladder.
But one stood their and he was an older gentlemen who looked at the faunus with a somber look.
"Why are you helping us….you faunus have been treated terribly by our kind…why?"he questioned.
Xander thought for a moment then knelt down to the old man offering a took it shaking it as Xander stared at him.
"Because were trying to do some good in our world. If we can atleast show some of you not all faunus are bad. Maybe it could change how people view us. "Xander replied
The old man smiled a little nodding to the young faunus. He then went donw below to join the others. Xander then covered the manhole cover as they went to prepare to head down.
The falcon faunus stopped him whistling that got his attention.
"Yeah Akasha whats up?"he qeustioned as his ears twitched.
"Lets do one more sweep near the market district. Then we return and prepare to leave with the others."akasha said with Xander nodding. He closed the manhole cover as her and him went toward the market district.
Back near the airdocks the group finally managed to make it back. Their weren't many airships left and glynda was making sure all the students got out okay. Yumi and coco were with her looking for certain people making sure they came.
Several students were boarding bullheads and evac ships to head to Vacou or home. Weather that be Atlas or Mistral. Most of the civilians got out but some believed small pockets of them are hiding from the grimm somehow.
Atlas soldiers were starting to pull out slowly due to their heavy loses. But Ironwood ordered some to stay in the city to help with the remainder of the evacuation. Ships roared to life as they carried off people out of the city. Several suitcase and belonging were around the place because they couldn't take all of them. They need to make room for other people.
Coco looked around and saw a bunny faunus with some others jogging toward them. Coco eyes lit up as she rushed forward embracing the bunny faunus in a hug. She cried a little happy she was okay.
"Oh thank remnant your okay bun….did you find anymore stragglers?"coco asked
Velvet looked down as her ears flopped a little. They told Coco they went back in the city to look for Zane. Because the guy didn't deserve to die and kill hismelf. She looked down as tear flowed down her eye and Coco understood.
She then looked at Cardin holding Vance who was pounding slowly on Cardin back. Cardin looked down as the lynx was muttering and crying to himself.
"Let me go.…let me go…auntie can't lose him again…please"vance muttered crying his eyes out. He kept pounding on cardin back several times to let him the guy didn't let vance go as he tried keeping a straight face.
Yumi walked forward looking at Caridn whos face told them all what they did. She looked down sighing to herself. Then she looked at Vance who was crying and couldn't stand it. The guy was her best friend brother and now he looked to be in pain.
"Dammit, Lazulis is going to kill me,"yumi thought.
Glynda stepped foward toward the students as they looked at her. She cleared her throat and looked at the destruction of the city. It was crawling with grimm but they luckily some huntsman and huntresses came.
"Alright all students from Vale along with any others. Are too head to Vacou or home. You have the option to continue your students when you get their. More will be explained to you once you arrive. "Glynda said
Vance finally got free from cardin as he landed on the ground. He got to his knees crying as he pounded on the ground upset. His knuckles tore open as blood seeped from his middle and ring the lynx didn't care as he looked up with tears on his face.
"Why?! I could have saved my cousin…but you drag me away we could…"Vance shouted looking at Cardin who clenched his fist. Then he grabbed the lynx by his shirt collar looking at him holding him up. Both met each other gaze staring at each other.
"Dammit you think I wanted to leave him…he..he"cardin begun but calmed himself down composing he looked at the lynx glaring at him.
"But Russel was hurt, and Zane he wanted to make sure we got out of there. He stayed behind so we could live. He may have been some screwed up grimm hybrid but he fought to his last breath to save us. "Cardin said with a stoic expression.
Vance got up bumping his shoulder across cardin as he slowly made his way to the last ship for the students. Nebula was already on their with her remaining teammates. They looked over at Gwen who right arm was banaged and it was bloody.
The girl was alive and Nebula gripped her other hand smiling. Then she gave a small kiss on the girl forehead was who was barely awak. Octavia looked out onto the dock waiting for the others and rolled her eyes at this.
"Can they hurry up before we become grimm chow. Whats taking them soo long"Octavia groaned putting her hands behind her hand in her seat.
Nebula sighed as she looked at the red head"that lynx kid….he's that science experiments family. And we found him early"nebula begun as Dew and Octavia looked at her with confusion.
"Uh ok and so what?"dew snarky asked
"Yeah whats the big deal just some genetic freak who was some spy for whoever attacked us."Octavia added
Nebula sighed she wanted to agree with that. Who knows if the guy was a spy. Hell she just saw another one of them tear her girlfriends arm off. And she couldn't stand that those types of things are around.
But a small part of her felt a little pity. She may be a jerk half the time but when she saw him in the grimm form. He seemed to be fighting for control as he gave them time to escape. But she didn't want to admit to herself she appreciated it.
"Nothing just saw the guy bite the dust pretty much is all"nebula replied as she looked out the window.
Finally Cardin,Velvet,Coco and Yumi joined the others in the ship. Coco and velvet sat close next to each other as coco had some terrible news. That fox and yatsu didn't make it, which caused the poor bunny faunus to cry more. Cardin stepped on looking around for his other two teammates but coulnd't find them at all. Though russel had to lay on a stretcher with his gut wound but he hoped he make it.
Cardin looked out the door as their ship took off into the distance. The ships engiend roared to life as they hovered into the air. The ship was soon hovering in the sky as they made their way from Vale City. The place was swarming with grimm and smoke could be seen from everywhere. Along with that fire was seen on some of the buildings.
The students of Beacon looked at their school they called home for a bit. Now ruined and torn into pieces as they saw a small bright light shine from above near the headmasters office.
Back at the market district Adder was following his target Zane as he was back to normal surpginly. He crawled away clutching his gut as a large stab wound was their. He had a look fo agony across his face as his hair was all messed up. Adder just chuckled to himself as Zane crawled away.
"Come on kid….jussst die already. What do you have to live for?'adder question.
But Zane didn't answer he propped himself against a wall breathing. It was shallow and his face looked a little pale as he seemed to have lost alot of blood. He kept coughing and his scroll was far from him. It continued to buzz and Adder noticed this.
Zane reached for it with a sadden look and Adder walked over to it. He picked it up looking at the caller ID and it said wolfie. He didn't know who it was but then showed it to the boy mocking him. But instead Zane just gave a small smile at the caller ID.
"Please….let..me..talk…to her"Zane begged as Adder scoffed at this. He was about to hang up until a throught rushed through his head.
"Ughh dammit kids dead anyway might as well let him say goodbye to whoever this is"Adder thought. He pressed the button as he put it on speaker for the dying student. Zane smiled a little as a voice came through.
"Zane! Are you okay where are you…"she begun saying on the other end. But Zane started to cough again as he spat more blood from his mouth. He struggled to breath with each breath.
"H-hey…..wolfie….guess….you..g-g-got my message….dammit…it hard to breathe"Zane said as he struggled with each word. Adder looked at him sliently with a blank expression waiting for him to be finishes.
"Zane…please tell me you're safe…please…don't die"the girl on the other end begging quivering with her words.
Zane chuckled a little at this, smiling as he coughed up more blood to the side covering the ground.
"Don't worry…i'm fine…just…one thing….tell my mom….and sis…I love them"Zane said as Adder eyes soften a little at the mention of that. He looked down sighing to himself waiting for it to be over.
"Don't talk like that, we can come back for you. You can tell her yourself"The girl on the other end said softly.
"But one thing…for…you…wolfie and for vel….i'll…always….love…yah….but…i'm sor–" Zane said as he took one breath before turning his head to the side as his chest slowly raised. Adder took this moment to hang up for him which Zane appreciated it.
Adder look at him as Zane slowly closed his eyes as he closed them then he brought out a photo looking at it before his arm slump covering into the small pool of blood. Adder then took out his own scroll ,video tapping him. Then he spoke, notifying someone of the task.
"Its done Subject Omega is eliminated"Adder said as he stopped the video. Then he walked off looking at the poor fool he just killed. He had a small smile on his face as he looked in his hands with the photo.
Adder scoffed as he made his way toward the ship to grab his teammates from Ozpins office. As he made his way he thought about someone from a long time ago he lost who he considered family.
Thats it for the first part of chapter 1, seems that zane might just be dead with the deaths of cardin team, with yatsu and fox dieing as well. I wonder what will happen next?
