Chapter 1 Teal:A Cold Awaking
In the sky above vale as it was slowly traveling toward its new destination Argus was a bullhead. Inside the bullhead were a few people who seemed to be worried right now. Along with what cargo their carrying right now in their ship. That cargo being a girl who just lost her leg with a bloody banaged wrapped around it. Eria right leg halfway where her thigh was had been sliced off.
While she had on a breathing mask that provided her the necessary air to keep her alive. But in the ship with her was weiss along with her sister. The heiress was upset right now as she hugged her sister close burying her face into winter shoulder.
Winter just gently rubbed the back of weiss head shushing her"its alright weiss everything will be okay. "She reassured her.
But weiss just let some tear stream down her face as she looked down at eria who was barely conscious right now. The ice queen of beacon felt guilty about what happened. She wasn't fast enough to stop rosemary from taking eria leg. Her family will probably hate her now.
Weiss sniffed a little"I should have been stopped her…e-eria…lost her leg because of me"weiss stated
Winter pulled weiss in a little closer"no its not your fault weiss, that rosemarygirl was the one that did it…not you"winter tried to reassure but weiss just buried her head into her older sisters shoulder as muffled sobs could be heard.
"I'm a failure as a huntresses"weiss said
Winter went wide eyed at this pulling her sister into an embrace as wiess head was pulled into winter chest. The older schnee sister shook her head at this.
"No…your not weiss i'm sure our grandfather would be happy to see you pursuing his path on becoming a huntresses"winter reassured
But weiss was still upset right now because her friend lost her leg to that crazy girl from team BRAS. Along with that she glanced over seeing pyrrha dead bodie as the former champion of sanctum had a cloth over her bodie. Weiss eyes hurt from all the crying but she couldn't help it right now as the tears kept flowing.
"How long until we reach argus?"winter asked a soldier who was montioring eria condition.
"About eighteen hours commander"an atlas soldier answered
"Good…how is she?"winter aksed gesturing toward eria.
The atlas medic was examining the hayley girl as she took a few small breaths as the mask fogged up a little. An iv drip was connected to her right hand as she layed their on the stretcher. Though that banagded of hers was smeared in crimson red now.
"She stablized for now ma'am but she may need to go through surgery to see how bad the leg wound was"the medic replied
Winter nodded as she glanced at the weapon and shield on a small seat next to her. The schnee commander slowly removed herself from her little sister. Then she walked over grabbing the sword as she walked over gently placing it as she lifted the sheet up. As she did it revealed pyrrhas corpse as she layed their dead. The atlas speicialist gently placed the sword in pyrrhas right hand. Then she grabbed the shield placing it on top of her.
Weiss looked at her sister as she still had tears streaming down her cheek.
"What are you doing?"weiss questioned
"Paying respects to her, your friend was a huntresses through and through"winter said but glanced at her sister with a small smile.
"Just like you"winter said as weiss smield a little but quickly turned to a frown because of today events.
"Ma'am sit down, we'll make sure to handle her with care when we arrive"the soldier stated as winter noded.
She walked backed over taking a spot next to her sister as she offered an embrace. Weiss quickly took it hugging her sister hoping that when they get their everything will be okay. Along with hoping that rogue doesn't hate her for her twin sister lose of limb because of ehr.
About eighteen hours later the bullhead was making its landing at the argus military base. The main defense against grimm for the city along with housing several atlas personal. Though right now on a stretcher eria was slowly stirring awake.
But right now her entire bodie felt very cold and not like usually. She used to cold temperatures since it snows a little early in argus sometimes. Though she could only hearing ringing around her right now as she tried to figure out where she was.
From the look of the ceiling it might be a bullhead judging by its appearance. Though she also was trying hard to remember what just happened. She recalled being back in vale with ruby and weiss. Though she began to looked around hearing muffled voice she could hardly understand.
"Were here ma'am would you like us to escort you back to atlas once your done here today"a male voiced asked
"No its quite alright, let james know I may be gone for a few days"a female but familiar voice said
"Are you sure thats okay?"a muffled but female voice asked as a hum could be heard.
"Yes, don't worry about it"the first female voice reassured s eria could hear them stepping off the bullhead.
"Where am I? What happened am I still in vale?"eria thought to herself as she collected her thought.
Minutes seemed to go by as she slowly slipped out of conscious for a bit. As she did she vidly saw flashes of what happened during beacon when the fall happened. She recalled that the last thing she saw was hearing weiss scream at someone. Then suddenty felt a sharp pain in her right leg. But then everything was a blur as she was airlifted out of the city with someone leaving the destroyed city.
As she layed their for a bit vidly seeing flashes of what happened during the fall. She recalled going through the streets fighting off the grimm and rescuing the citizens of vale. Although she wondered were her twin sister was right now with their father. She was just lucid dreaming as she felt like its been minutes, hours even while she slept.
Though she could fell movement nudge her awake as she felt the clanking of metal against something. Along with a set of voices talking to each other it seems. She couldn't hear them at first but she opened her teal colroed eyes slightly.
She looked up to see a soldier above her as he was pulling her out of something. As they were pulling her out they set the girl down. Though one of the soldier glanced at her looking away then glanced back down.
"Hey shes awake"a soldier stated as their voice was slightly muffled.
Then another appear looking at her"hey kid you alright, if you can hear me blink once for yes and twice for no"he instructed
Eria sort of heard but followed his his instructions. She blinked once to him letting him know she could hear him and that she was okay. Though she felt very tired right now from what she has gone through it seems.
The soldier nodded to her"good just hang in their right now kid, we'll get you through this"he reassured but she noticed him glance to the side.
She could hear the rushing footsteps of someone running over but then she could only hear muffled voices right now. Though her vision may be a little blurry she could tell her father was standing above her.
Her father looked over at her with tears of joy on his face it seems. She imemdaitly felt him hug her gently it seems. It felt warm to her because it was reassuring her father got out. Which meant her twin sister got out as well which made her happy it seems.
Though after a bit she could hear more footstep approaching and some muffled voice but she could barely tell who they were.
""Is she going to die!? Don't tell me my daughter is going to die!" a muffled voice shouted perusmably her father
Then she heard someone familiar to her"no…eria"a female voice said
But she looked around trying to place the face of the group with a sadden expression on her face. Because she was starting to remember what happened back in vale. She recalled heading to beacon tower to rescue pyrrha and cinder.
Though when she got their she recalled seeing scar and rosemary their. Along with that telling her that her leader was dead and that they killed him. Her eyes began to well up a little as the muffled voice kept talking.
She took a breath as she felt her chest barely rise, she was pratciually exhausted right now. It felt like she lost alot of fluids or something right now. Though she also recalled what happened to someone she conisdred a sister.
The memorie came back to her in a flash as she quickly saw pyrrha dead bodie in front of her. Along with that seeing her falling from the top of tower, though she tried recalling something that stoped her.
But she could hear the muffled voice again"I…coudln't stop her from doing it to her"a female voice said
After a bit someone spoke that made her go wide eyed
"Wait does that mean pyrrha is with you?"a female voice to now relzied was her sister.
She was happy she was alive but slowly relized what might be happening to her when she hears about pyrrha death.
"Yeah did she make it out okay?"another female voice asked
"Pyrrha…pyrrha…she..she-"the female voice tried to finish but was cut off by the sound of soldier moving something else off the bullhead. Then along with the clanking of metal presumably a stretcher maybe.
"Pyrrha..pyrrha are you okay?"her sister voice could be heard as eria saw rogue standing above her.
She had a smile on her face with hope in her eyes, but soon enough she looked down at her. The cold girl couldn't hold the tears back anymore as they streamed down her face. Her cheeks felt hot right now as the tears streamed down her face.
"Rogue…zane he didn't make it…they killed him"she said queitly but no one heard her.
Then she looked up to see someone familiar to her, her boyfriend perun. She was happy he got out and wondered where his loudmouth best friend was right now. That idiot might be screaming at the top of his lungs saying he just went through anarchy or something.
Then she felt the mask get pulled off her face, once it did she gasped for air a little. She took a deep breath in to get some oxygen in as she coughed a little trying to get air in her lungs.
"Eria what is it, what are you trying to say?"perun asked looking at her as she looked into his eyes
"Rogue…zane he didn't make it…they killed him"Eria weakly stated
"We know…we saw his message"a male voice said revealed to be mercury black kneeling over her.
Though her sister said something that made her eyes sink inside her skull.
"But at least pyrrha made it out okay it seems"rogue said
Eria couldn't help right now to let more tears loose, because rogue and pyrrha were like sister even. Same to her as well but she also couldn't believe the red head was gone right now. That she was snuffed out just like that in an instant.
She could hear someone choke a sob back then she looked at her twin sister shaking her head.
"Rogue…pyrrha..she..didn't make it"eria said with sadness
Right now she didn't want to tell her that because her heart would be broken right now. They already lost their uncle on the same times but now they lost their leader. He might have been a goofball at times but she recalled rogue and him being like best friends at times.
She could hear ringing for a bit until finally after what seemed like minutes she could hear again but it wasn't pleasant.
"Rogue i'm sorry we weren't–"a female voice said as eria looked to see weiss here to her surprise.
"Shut up!"rogue shouted close above eria.
"Rogue sweetie… it'll be alright"her father said probably comforting her sister.
"Dammit…those bastards"mercury said
She then looked at perun as she looked around not seeing tanner around. Did he come in on a different bullhead from early or something.
"Perun"eria weakly called out to him.
"What is it eria?"he replied
She kept looking around for tanner wondering where he went but couldn't find him at all.
"Wheres…tanner?"eria asked quietly taking a deep breath.
She looked at perun going wide eyed right now as he began to cry his eyes out right now. This didn't sit well with eria as she wondered what exactly happened while she was fighting in the city. Did he get hurt or was it much worse.
"He…he…didn't make it…some scorpian faunus killed him. My best friend gone"perun answered between shops.
At that moment eria just began to cry even more as more tears streaked down her cheeks. She couldn't believe that he was gone, three people she cared about gone in just one day. She felt exhausted right now as she slowly closed her eyes as her vision was going blurry. Then she slowly blacked out form conscious it seems.
Soon enough eria found herself in a snowy like forest, as the trees were made of pine it seems. Along with that snow decorated the ground as she looked around wondering what was happening. She couldn't be in the woods that made no sense right now. Then eria slowly made her way through the snwony forest as each step she took the crunching of snow could be heard.
"Where am I?"she asked herself continuing to alk.
As she did soon enough someone called out to her which surrpsied her.
"Eria its great to see you again"a female voice called out as eria turned surprised.
In front of her was pyrrha who was in her usually attire with a bright smile on her face. Eria smiled a little walking over toward her.
"Pyrrha, what are you doing here?"eria said as she looked around in a circle.
"And where are we right now?"eria added
Though pyrrha didn't answer her at first instead just slowly smiled at her. Then she titled her head at the cold girl which creeped her out a little.
"Pyrrha is everything alright?"eria asked
Pyrrha then smiled eerily"yes, everything is alright…though"pyrrha said before she reached behind her she pulled out something that shined in the sunlight.
A pair of big scissor like weapons as infront of eria was not pyrrha but rosemary. Eria went wide eyed reaching for tundra on her hip. But she felt nothing seeing her bat their as she glared at rosemary.
"What are you doing here?"eria questioned as rosemary chuckled manically.
"What i'm doing is none of your business…but you should start running"rosemary intrsucted as she lunged at eria.
Eria quickly turned to try and run but as she did she fell to the ground. She wondered what happened did she trip over something. But she felt surpsingly light below her waise presumably where her right leg is. She slowly pulled herself as she glanced down toward her right leg.
Imemdaitly she went wide eyed as she stared down to see her leg cut in half halfway up her thigh. Blood spurted from her leg wound into the pure white snow. Eria started to take rapid breaths right now because her leg was missing. She looked up seeing rosemary approaching her with a sadistic grin on her face.
"Awww can you not run my prey…show me what makes you scared"rosemary said
"No…no..get away"Eria said as she began to crawl in the snow away from the girl.
"But that wouldn't be fun"rosemary said as eria coule hear the girl approaching her slowly.
"No this can't be real…this can't be real"Eria said not believing it because this felt like a nightmare. Though soon enough rosemary caught up with her as eria could feel something pierce her chest. Then a sharp pain in her chest as she was swloyl brought up.
Eria looked down at her chest to see a pair of scissors like blade buried in the middle of her chest. Their was blood staining it as manically laughter could be heard behind her. Eria started to whimper a little right now.
"This..this…isn't real"eria said to herself.
Rosemary leaned in to say something"it is real…and your dead"rosmeary whispered. Then the scarred face girl pulled her scissors apart as eria could feel her bodie being torn in two. She wanted to scream but couldn't as she soon woke up.
Dream sequence end
Soon enough eria woke up as her teal colored eyes slowly stirred awake. Her sense slowly came back to her but was met by the bright light of the sun as she adjusted her eyes to the brightness. After a bit of time her hearing came back as she could hear the beeping of a heart rate monitor.
Then she looked around and noticed her right arm was on an ivdrip as she saw iv drip slowly into it. Share relzied where she was a hospital though it looked a little familair to her. It had a simple desk in the room with a chair with padding on it.
Though close by to her was a large table it seems, but it had several objects on it. Alot of it seemed to be balloons, greeting cards, bags along with a few other things. But all of them said get well soon which confused her a little.
What happened to her back in vale thought she noticed she had on a long green colored gown. But something felt off right now because she felt very light were her right leg was. She hesitnalty reached forward as she closed her eyes and placed her hand where her right leg was.
As she did she felt nothing their which made her go wide eyd. Then she quickly reached over throwing the sheet off her leg. The blood seemed to drain from her face making her even look paler. Their was nothing their halfway down her thigh. She just layed their stunned right now staring at the ceiling shaking her head.
"No…no…she took my leg"eria said to herself as she covered her eyes.
Soon enough the door to her room opened as a doctor walked in with a clipboard. Though a few other people were with him as well. Eria was letting a couple tears escape as she looked toward the door seeing who was here.
She looked to see her parents here with her boyfriend perun. Along with that weiss was their with them surprisingly.
Immediately perun rushed over jumping onto her bed hugging her immediately.
"Your awake!"perun exclaimed happily it seems as he embraced her.
Calida stepped in smiling happy her little girl was awake as she walked over to the other side of her bed. Perun let go a little so the hayley mother could hug her was quickly shoved in her mother chest as it engulfed the side of her head.
"Oh thank goodness my little girl is okay"calida said with joy.
But eria was still crying it seems as tears slowly dripped to the sheets on her bed. Her father looked at her with worry across his face as he relzied what she seen.
"Sweetie…its okay…everything will be okay"jaki reassured as he sat in a chair close by.
The doctor cleared her throat"i'm sorry to interupt but I need to check on her since she woken up"the doctor said as calida nodded and removed her self from hugging her daughter.
"So how are you feeling right now?"the doctor asked
"Umm i'm really tired…and…really light"eria replied
"Well that understandable when you got here we had to give you an emergency transfusion. Along with patching that leg of your up, though your lucky it was a clean cut. Your aura healed it properly it seems. Along with that we replaced your bandages."the doctor stated
"Okay umm.."eria started but looked around noticing her twin sister wasn't here.
"Where rogue?"eria questioned
Calida immediately had a married gaze as she looked at the doctor with annoyance and anger it seems. This made eria a little concerned what exactly her twin sister did while she was past out. Soon enough calida got up taking a deep breath.
"How is rogue right now?"calida asked with a forced smiled as eria relzied what happened.
When her mother acts like that its because something bad happened and she very mad right now. Along with that smile of her it makes her very creepy because when she gets mads it like a volcano erupted in front of her her.
"Hmm well i have another doctor with her right now. Though she may be awake from what I heard ea–"the doctor tried to finished.
"Shes awake?!"calida shouted surprised as she quickly rushed out of the hospital room. They all stopped to look at each other for a second at what just happened. Her mother looked rather frazzled did something happen to rogue.
"Well that was surprising though i'm pretty sure your starving right now"The doctor said
Eria was about to say something but the rumbling of her stomach could be heard. The frozen girl slightly blushed then nodded to the doctor. Not a second later a nurse returned with a small cart. She walked over with the cart as she opened it to reveal some mashed potatoes it seems.
"Here you go sweetie I bet you starving"the nurse said as she placed a tray out for eria. Then she placed the food infront of eria as she smelled it a little. It wafted the air but right now she was starvin. She picked up her utensil slowly as she slowly ate her food.
It was a little filling but as she swallowed it her throat felt very dry for some reason. It felt like she's been out for days it seems. Though she continued to eat while the others in the room waited for her to finish. After a bit of time she finished the small bowl of food as the nurse took it placing it back on the tray.
Jaki looked at his daughter with worrie"eria sweetie, what the last thing you remeber?"jaki asked her.
"Umm well everything a little blurry right now"eria said rubbing her head but then she recalled her missing leg as she gently wrapped her arms around herself.
"But..I..I remeber rosemary…I was fighting her then I remember seeing pyrrha falling..then I…felt my leg get…cu–"eria started but choked on the last word as she shook in place.
Perun noticed this walking over to the bed as he calmly wrapped his arms around her. Then he just rubbed her back as he looked sad right now about what happened. Eria slowly return the embrace hugging him as he comforted her.
"Everything alright…she isn't but i'm just happy your okay"perun reassured with a smile
Eria seemed to take a couple deep breath to calm herself but the experience was still terrifying and fresh in her mind. Though the thought of pyrrha crossed her mind right now along with two more people.
"Pyrrha didn't make it…did she?erias asked deishearted by it.
Perun just hugged her a little tighter placing his head on her shoulder shaking his head.
"She..didn't make it i'm sorry"perun said as eria just looked down upset. She sniffed a little as more tear began to well up in her eyes. As she did weiss was close by as she picked up a tissue box. She brought it over to eria handing her it.
Eria took a small tissue as she wiped her eyes from the tears, perun let go as he sat at the end of her bed. Jaki looked at his daughter with a downhearted look on his face as he rubbed his eyes.
Eria blew her nose for a second as she sighed tossing it in a nearby trashcan. She knew pyrrha was gone but could't believe it still, if she was just fast enough maybe pyrrha would still be here.
"Dammit…if I..was fast enough…myabe pyrrha…could still be here"eria said beating herself up.
"No..no its not your fault shes gone."weiss reassured as she looked at eria with a sadden look.
"Yeah. Don't worry shes in a better place right now"perun added
"But….if I fast maybe if I caught her on time she'd still be here"eria said again but jaki looked at his daughter shaking his head.
He quickly walked over as he hugged her in a protective shell right now. She felt a little warm right now as she just returned it burying her face into his chest right now as she sniffed. Someone she considered like a sister was gone, if she was just their a little bit sooner she might be their.
"Don't say that sweetie, you did all you could"jaki reassured as they sa their for a bit before he let her go. Then he sat near the side of her bed as eria looked down. But then she looked at weiss who was looking at eria missing leg.
"Weiss….is something wrong?"eria questioned
Weiss frowned looking at eria"i'm sorry…i'm so sorry if I got to you on time…you'd still have your leg"weiss said as that made eria go wide eyed.
This made eria think about who was at fault for her lose of limb right now. Is was partial her fault because she let rosemary get one hit in too many. Which caused her aura to shatter on impact along with that it was mostly rosemarys fault. Though her fellow ice queen was not to blame for this.
Eria chuckled a little with a small tear forming because of that dumb nickname.
"Its not your fault…you save the heiress to the ice queen throne"Eria said with a small smile as a tear slide down her cheek.
The three were a little stunned by that joke as the three smiled a little at the joke. But weiss still had a look of guilt across her face. Though soon enough two more people she relzied where gone.
"Tanner and zane are gone…aren't they"eira asked as weiss gently nodded with perun just covering his face.
"Yeah…some…scoprian faunus killed him dead…zephyra said…he protected your sister before he got her"perun said softly with a couple tears escaping his eyes.
Eria smiled a little that that loudmouth actually rescued her twin sister, but part of her missed him deeply. Though that would mean that scorpion faunus might have been the one that attack the village her uncle stayed in five years ago.
"Wait..was..he..the one that…."Eria started as her father gently nodded.
"Yes, he was the one who killed your uncle"jaki sorrowful answered as he rubbed his eyes.
She couldn't help but feel anger right now but letting her emotions control her like that could lead to drastic cosnquence in the future. Though she also vidly recalled when scar showed her and weiss a video of zane corpse. She remebered seeing a message from him then along with that in the video she saw their team picture.
Eria just hung her head"weiss…what was zane message?"eria asked
"I haven;t seen it yet"weiss replied because she didn't want to watch it.
"Well shown you when we get back home dear"jaki said
Thought something else crossed eria mind how long has she been out right now. Because some of those flowers on the table appeared wilted.
"Umm also how long have I been out?"eria asked
"Four day"perun answered as eria went wide eyed. She been out that long right now which meant the fall happened four days ago. But that also meant they probably had tanners and pyrrha funerals then.
She sighed heavily laying her head back"umm could we visit rouge…did something happen to her"eria asked
Soon enough a nurse came in as she heard this, she looked toward jaki who nodded. Then the nurse quickly left and soon returned with a wheelchair in her hands. She walked over to one side of erias bed. Then she flipped the seat as eria crawled a little as the nurse and perun gently placed her into the wheelchair. The nurse grabbed the iv drip as they wheeled her out of the room.
They wheeled her out into the hospital corridor that a normal hosptial would have. It had white ceiling tiles decorating it along with several hospital rooms around the place. Doctors and paitents decorated the halls. Thought she noitced alot of people here right now still which was concerning.
"Are all these people from the fall?"eria qeustioned
"Some of them yeah most of them are citizens of argus and a few from vale. "The nurse answered
"Yeah alot of people apparently came back hurt"perun added as he walked next to her. Jaki was pushing the wheelchair looking at his daughter with a small smile.
"Okay but…is rogue okay?"eria asked worried.
"Umm well she fine sort of"weiss answered turning away as eria was a little confused by that.
Though as they wheeled through the hall near a small receptionist desk was calida as she was fumming right now. But she was signing some discharge papers it seems from the looks of it. While close to her was emerald, the red eyed girl slowly glanced over at eria smiling.
"Your awake"emerald said walking over toward the group.
"Emerald? "Eria questioned surrpsied as the mint haired girl hugged eria and eria returned it.
"That me…you feeling alright?"emerald replied
"Sort of…but wait if your here does that mean mercury here?"eria replied
"Yes, your sister boyfriend is in their right now. I'm signing her discharge papers right now dear. Go take my little girl to meet her sister"calida stated calmly as the movement of a pen could be heard.
Jaki nodded"alright is she alright?"he asked as the nurse outside the room nodded.
"Yeah she is you can see her"she replied
Then jaki wheeled eria toward the room her sister was in. As she was wheeled over weiss walked over opening the door for them. Then jaki pushed his daughter in as eria looked at the person in the bed infront of her. Her twin sister their with mercury and ember surprignly.
"Rogue"eria said smiling as her father wheeled her close to her sister bedside.
She stared at her sister and just wanted to hug her right now. She quickly leaned over embracing rogue legs right now because she couldn't exactly move all that well. But she then felt someone lay on top of her hugging her it seems. Though she felt something wet hit her back as she layed their.
"I'm sorry eria…should have been there for you"rogue said
Eria just looked sadden by this as she pulled herself up looking at her with a somber look.
"Its alright..your not the one who did it…I was just too slow"Eria said looking down at her missing right leg. Weiss noticed this turning away hugging herself.
But her sister shook her head"its fine…but…tanner…and zane they didn't make it"rogue weakly said which made eria sigh heavily.
She still hated that news of their deaths still and right now she knew who killed tanner. Along with that who killed their leader and her sister partner as she clenched her fist in anger. She had a dreadful look on her face as she sniffed a little closing her eyes.
""That damn snake faunus"eria muttered loud enough for them to hear.
"What did you say?"Mercury asked, looking at her surprised
Emerald went wide eyed at the mention of a snake faunus and she knew who she meant
"Wait Eria…you don't mean"Emerald begun as Eria looked at her.
Eria sniffed a little not even wanting to hide it"Adder was the one who killed showed us a video of him dead in an alleway."eira said as a small tear welled up in her eyes.
Perun looked at her as he gently walked over placing a hand on her shoulder to reasure her evrything will be jaki looked down sighing it seems at hearing that.
Though her twin sister seemed to figure out something else that she saw. That would be what he had in his hands before he passed.
"Eria…what else happen?"rogue questioned with worrie in her throat.
Eria sniffed a little before letting a small tear escape her eyes as it hit her lap as she looked up at her sister. She didn't wanna say it but she had the right to know that he thought about them as he passed
"He had….he had the team picture we took the night before the final round in his hands."eria softly said

"Well now all the paperwork has been filed and completed. You two will be discharged within an hour though she will be two hours.
