Chapter One
The Halsteads
Halstead Home, Honolulu – December 2, 2017
Today truly was the best day of his life, as it was the day Jay Halstead's entire world changed. When his world changed for the better, because he finally let love into his heart; something he refused to do for the past couple years after his previous failed marriage. But now, things have changed. He was madly in love with his new wife, Alexandra Marie Halstead, as well as their month-old son David Michael as they sat down in bed together as a family shortly after getting home from supper on the beach. The beach where they got married in private, just the three of them, by a private justice of the peace. And honestly, the two of them wouldn't have had it any other way; for them to get married in private rather than have a huge ceremony, which they didn't need to show each other that they love each other. All they needed to do was make what was already their reality legal and official. It was just to get the certificate saying that they were officially husband and wife, which is what they are now. They're husband and wife, and parents to their baby boy.
Their month-old son they had while they were still dating after meeting at his family office, the office where he works as the Chairman and CEO of Halstead; while his gorgeous wife Alexandra worked (in the past) as a lingerie model, something which she no longer does due to the fact that she's been a bit busy with travelling around the world with her boyfriend; then, she got pregnant with their baby boy and the rest is history. But now, a new history is being written; a history where Alex is married to the man she loves and feeding their son in the comfort of their bed, the bed she plans on sharing with her loving husband for the rest of the year before they got home with David for the first time. After all, they've been living here in Honolulu for the better part of a year, since Alex started the second trimester of her pregnancy. After all, it's a long flight from Honolulu to Chicago, which is why there was no way in hell that she was going to be flying back there while she was pregnant. Rather, they just stayed here and started a life together.
A life that now included the two of them being husband-and-wife, something Alex has been hoping to be for a long time. And while she would've preferred it to have happened before they had David, she's more than happy over when it happened because today was second best day of her life, unlike Jay. "Best day of my life." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, prior to turning her head and staring into his eyes. "Second best day of my life." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that and leaned in to kiss her, until he realized just what she said. "Wait, did you just say second best day of my life?" Alex agreed with Jay when he asked her whether she said second best day of her life. "Yes." Jay just looked at his wife as she said that. "What's the best day of your life?" Alex smiled as she turned her head and looked at the crib that they had here in their room, the crib where their baby boy was fast asleep. "Oh, I definitely agree. That has the be the best day of our lives, the day we had our baby boy." Alex agreed with her husband as he said that, smiling at her husband.
The husband who just pushed her onto her back and leaned over her, prior to placing his hand on her neck and bend down to kiss her softly. "I love you." Alex smiled as she agreed with Jay, as she loves him too. "I love you too. Always have, and always will. And I am so glad that you finally let me into your heart and agreed to marry me." Jay smirked as Alex said that, well aware that it took him some time for him to say yes to her proposal. Yes, you heard that right: Alexandra Marie Halstead was the one that proposed to Jay, rather than the other way around. And that was due to the fact that she was the reason why he feels like he finally has his life back in order, due to the fact that he's had his heart broken pretty bad in the past; by a former girlfriend who left him right before he could propose, and by a former wife whom he married in Vegas. However, this time he did it right; he married his wife in a real wedding which was perfect and made him very happy, she made him very happy. And that's precisely what Jay is in the midst of showing his wife.
Showing his wife just how happy he was that they were married now, which he was doing as he leaned over her and placed his hands on her body; while Alex placed her hands on his neck and just smiled as she took things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. The man she loves more than anything in the entire world and who is just the most handsome and loving man in the entire world. "God, I hope you know how much you turn me on;' especially when you please me like you just did." Jay laughed, well aware that he just turned her on when they made sweet love to each other this evening. "And now you see why I wanted to leave shortly after supper." Alex smirked as Jay said that. "And I thought it was due to the fact that you wanted to spend a bit of time with David before she had to go to bed." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that. "I'm just happy that she's being quiet right now, as I very much want to spend this time kissing you." Alex agreed with her husband, placing her hands on his neck prior to leaning in and kissing him.
Meanwhile, Jay ran his hand down her body (and under the covers) prior to placing his hand on her leg and rubbing it; after all, it's not like he can make love to the woman of his dreams. And that's due to the fact that she just gave birth to their baby boy, but he's okay with that. He's okay with the fact that they can't make love to each other, as that's not what a wedding night is for; a wedding night is to celebrate love and just concentrate on each other. And right now, that's precisely what Jay's in the midst of doing; he's celebrating just how happy and madly in love he is with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "God, I love you so much." Alex agreed with her husband and just smiled due to the fact that this is everything she wants. "I love you too Jay, but you need to calm down. You're saying I love you a lot, which means that you're going to want to take off my underwear." Jay shook his head, as that's the last thing he wants to do. "I promise, I'm not going there. Hell, I was actually scared that the wedding wouldn't happen."
Surprised, Alex looked up into Jay's eyes. "Really? Why's that?" Jay sighed as he looked at the woman he loves, prior to rolling over onto his side. Meanwhile, Alex rolled over onto her side as well, prior to moving close to the man she loves. After which, she wrapped her arms around his muscular torso; while Jay wrapped his arm around her back and just smiled at her as she slipped her legs in between his. "So, why exactly did you think that you weren't going to be my husband at the end of the day?" Jay sighed as Alex asked him that question. "I heard rumors that somebody was having cold feet." Alex sighed as she heard Jay say that. "It was because I knew that my life was going to change forever." Jay agreed. "Yeah, your life is never going to be the same, isn't it?" Alex agreed with her husband, as that's precisely what she was thinking about before they got married. "Yeah, it's just all different now. However, I have no regrets over my decision to marry you because of how much I love you." Jay agreed with his wife as he wrapped his arm around her.
After which, he tugged her body on top of his as he rolled over onto his back; tugging Alex with him in the process, with the hopes of making sure that she stays close to him. And that's precisely what Alex wanted her husband to do: she wanted her husband to bring her body on top of his, as they cuddled up to each other in bed. And let's just say that Alex is very happy as they held each other close in the comfort of their bed, especially as she wrapped her arms around Jay's muscular torso and laid her head down on his heart. At the same time, Jay wrapped his legs around Alex's and smiled as he wrapped his arm around her back; stroking it with his thumb after placing his hand on her back and just making sure that his gorgeous wife is comfortable. The beautiful wife who just placed her hand on his toned chest and cuddled up to him, as she laid her head down on his heart and just cuddled up to the man she loves, the father of their child and her new husband. "So, what was your thought about today so far? You like our wedding day?"
Alex laughed as she turned her head and looked up at the man of her dreams. "I mean, how could I not like the day where I married the love of my life?" Looking down at Alex, Jay smiled as he ran his hand up and down her back. "Love of your life, eh?" Alex agreed with Jay as he asked her whether he was the love of her life, as he most certainly was. "You've always been the love of my life, ever since I got pregnant with David. Hell, before I got pregnant with David." Jay agreed with his wife as she said that, prior to pressing his lips to her forehead. "To think, a month ago we were in a hospital bed with our newborn son David; now, we're in our bed as newlyweds." Alex agreed with her husband, before realizing that. "Holy shit, it's December 2nd." Jay laughed, agreeing with Alex as that's true. "Yes, yes it is. That's our anniversary my dear." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling as she slipped up his chest and then kissed him softly. "No, I mean…it's exactly one month since David was born." Jay smiled, as that most certainly is true.
Today marks exactly one month since the birth of their little boy, David Michael Halstead. And that was something they were both truly happy about, as it made them realize that they never wanted to let each other go; that they always wanted to be a family, which led them to throwing a quick wedding together one month after David was born. "I think it was faith. Faith that me and you got married exactly one month after David was born. I mean, he is the little boy that joined us in life forever. No David, no wedding." Alex laughed, as she wasn't sure that would've been true. "Honestly, I'm sure I would've caught your eye somehow." Looking down at his wife as she said that, Jay smirked as he moved his hand to her back and stroked it with his thumb. "Oh, do you now?" Alex agreed. "I already know that you were taking extra glances at my lingerie and bikini shots after each and every photoshoot." Jay smirked as Alex said that, as that most certainly was the truth. "Don't need to do that now, as I get to see it all each and every day."
Alex smirked as Jay said that. "And then some, as you get to see me naked." Jay agreed with his wife, as he most certainly does get to see her naked, which he loves doing whenever he gets a chance to do so. "And I love seeing you naked, whenever I get a chance to do so." Alex agreed with Jay, prior to cuddling up to her dreamy husband some more. "Maybe if you're a good boy, you and I can take a bath with each other tonight." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, as he loves the idea of them taking a nice bath with each other; so, he decided to press his lips to her forehead to show her that. "Well, if that doesn't sound like a great idea." Alex agreed, as she knew it was a great idea. "I just hope that those two don't interrupt us this time, with them having to go to the washroom and all." Turning his head, Jay smiled as he looked at his and Alex's two German Shepherds: Jake and Maya; with Jake being Jay's service dog for his PTSD, which he has due to the fact that he's a military veteran who served two tours of duty as part of the War on Terror in Iraq.
Meanwhile, Maya is their family dog. And while they could've easily gotten another breed for their family dog, they decided to just go ahead and get the same breed to make it easy. Plus, they like German Shepherds. Well, with the exception of when one of them needs to steal them away from bed, which is probably what Jake and Maya were currently walking into their room to try and do. "No, get away you two. Leave my room this instance." Alex said, trying to get Jake and Maya to leave their room, as the last thing she wants is for them to steal Jay away from her, which he knew was precisely the reason why she said that, to make sure that the dogs leave so that he doesn't need to leave bed. But, unfortunately, that's precisely what he needs to do now that they're here. "Babe, I love you; I really do. But…" Alex groaned as she rolled off of her husband's chest and laid down on her back. "I know, go ahead." Jay laughed as he sat up in bed wearing his boxers, prior to turning his head and placing his hand on her stomach. After which, he kissed her softly.
Just taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Jay smirked due to the fact that Alex is the most beautiful woman in the entire world. "I love you Alex, now and forever." Alex agreed with her husband, as she felt the same way about him. "I love you too Jay." Getting up out of bed, Jay smiled as he turned around and looked at his gorgeous wife. "I'll be back soon. Do you need anything?" Alex shook her head, as she's ok. "I'll let you know if I need anything." Jay agreed with his wife, smiling as he bent down and kissed her softly. "Sounds good." Smiling, Alex agreed with Jay as she kissed him one last time. "How about you go take the dogs out? Then, you can come back upstairs to see me and David." Jay agreed with his wife as he pressed his lips to her forehead, before getting up and turning around to walk away to go take Jake and Maya out. At least, that was the plan…until David started to cry. "Just in time." Snickering, Alex agreed with her loving husband. "I got him." Jay looked at Alex as she said that. "Are you sure?" Alex agreed with Jay.
I mean, she's basically born to do this: to take care of babies and feed them. "Go, take the dogs out. Maybe you can even play with them for a bit since I need to feed David." Alex said, as she got out of bed and walked over to David's crib. "I think I might take you up on that offer." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, while also watching as he made his way over to his dresser to grab some shorts. "By the way, I already told Patrick Davis that he's to prioritize our wedding pictures above any promo pictures that he needs to work on." Turning her head, Alex smiled as she loves the sound of that. "I love the sound of that, and I can't wait to see them; especially our family picture." Jay agreed with Alex as he put his shorts on, ahead of making his way over to his beautiful family. After which, he watched as Alex picked David up in her arms and held him against his chest; while he got close to them both and smiled as he placed his hands on her arms. Leaning in, Jay smirked as he kissed his beautiful wife softly. "I love you." Alex smiled as Jay said that.
After all, she feels the same way as the man of her dreams. "I love you too Jay, forever." Jay agreed with Alex as he leaned his forehead against hers, while also looking at David. "I love you too buddy, forever." Jay said, as he bent down and pressed his lips to David's forehead. "God, we make such beautiful babies together." Alex agreed as that's the truth. "When can we do it again?" Alex shook her head as she heard Jay ask her that question. "Next Christmas, when David is almost 14 months old. Ask me again, and the date gets pushed back another month." Jay agreed with his wife as she said that. "You want them two years apart?" Alex agreed. "Something like that. It'll be easier. Then, we can have Daivd in daycare, while I take care of our young one." Jay laughed. "You mean a nanny." Alex looked at her husband as he said that. "Yeah, my mom would be moving in before you can hire a nanny. A nanny who would just stare at my sexy husband whenever he's shirtless, just like all other women do." Jay agreed with his wife, while also getting closer.
Placing his hands on Alex's hips, Jay brought his family close to him so that he can remind Alex of something. "Alex, I love you and you're the only woman I have eyes for. You never need to worry about me wanting to be with another woman. We're forever, I mean that from the bottom of my heart." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case as she leaned in and kissed the man of her dreams on the day of their wedding. "I love you." Jay agreed with his wife, as he loves her too. "I love you too. Now, I'm going to go take Jake and Maya out to the washroom before they go in the house." Alex agreed with her husband, as that's precisely what he needs to do right now. "Go ahead, I need to feed David anyways." Jay agreed with Alex, smiling as he kissed her one last time. "So addicting." Alex laughed, well aware that him kissing her was his addiction. "Well, you can get more of my kisses when you get back. Right now, you need to take the dogs out. So, go take the dogs out." Jay agreed with his wife before going to do just that.
Meanwhile, Alex turned her attention to David and smiled as she climbed into bed; while also pressing her lips to his forehead, which is when she heard her husband speak to her one last time. "You want a snack while I'm downstairs?" Turning her head, Alex smiled as she just loved how Jay knew exactly what she was just thinking about. "I was actually just thinking about that right now." Jay smiled as Alex said that. "I promise, I'll get it on my way back upstairs. However, I call dibs in holding David when I come back upstairs." Alex smirked as Jay said that. "I want you in boxers again. I mean, you do get me in lingerie all day." Jay agreed with his wife, as that's precisely what he wants. "Oh, I most certainly do get that. I love you for that, by the way." Alex agreed with her dreamy husband, well aware that he loves her; but one thing that she doesn't love is that he just tried to sneak his phone out of his side table. "Jay!" Jay then snapped his fingers. "Do you want me to put a shirt on top of my body?" Setting David down on the bed, Alex smiled.
She then got comfortable and tugged the covers up on top of her, while also undoing her bra strap to take it off. "Maybe you should, as I know it must be hard to always have to take off your bra." Turning her head, Alex smiled as she liked the sound of that; so, she decided to tease her husband and threw her bra towards him the moment she took it off. Meanwhile, Jay caught it and in awe as he watched Alex grab David and bring him close to her chest. "You didn't just do that." Alex smirked, as she most certainly did just do that. "Yes, yes I did. Now, are you going to want me to be wearing a shirt when you get back, or are you going to want me to still be feeding David?" Alex said, as she watched him latch on to start feeding off her breast. "I would really like it if you were sitting like that when I got back." Alex agreed with her husband as he said that. "Then go take the dogs out and get a snack." Jay agreed with his wife as she told him to go make them a snack while he put the dogs out on the day of their wedding, a wedding day to remember.
The truth is that Alex was never going to wear a bra when Jay came back, not when she's much more comfortable when she's braless and just wearing her underwear; especially when she's breastfeeding David. So, rather than be topless all day, she decided to wear a bathrobe, which she had in her closet, where she was currently standing and admiring herself in the mirror right now. And while she was admiring herself in the mirror, she noticed that she was still wearing her necklace and fancy earrings, which she most certainly does want to take off before she gets back in bed…which is where both of her boys currently are, something she knows since Jay just spoke up when he came back into their room using his dad voice. "Hey little man, did mommy set you up here on daddy's pillow?" Jay said as he made his way back over to his and Alex's bed, before setting their snack on his side table; after which, he made his way over to their little boy and just smirked as he leaned over him as he placed his hands next to their son on their bed. "Yeah, you like that."
Bending down, Jay smirked as he kissed his forehead, before bending down and kissing his neck. And let's just say that David loved that, because it made him laugh and just feel so loved; that was, until he sneezed right in his daddy's face. "Achoo. God, if anybody other than you did that, then maybe I'd be a bit more upset. But, I think I can give you a pass because of how adorable you are." Smiling as she walked up to the door, Alex leaned against the doorframe and just admired her husband as he spent a bit of quality time with their son. "I just hope that someday you sleep more, because I would really like more time with your mommy." Alex smiled as she heard her husband as he said that. "May I remind you that you were the one that said no to my mom's offer to watch David today." Turning his head when he heard Alex, Jay smirked as he loves the sight of his gorgeous wife just wearing her bathrobe. "Well, now I like this sight. But, I think we both know I have a question to ask you." Alex smiled. "No, I'm not wearing a bra." Jay agreed with Alex.
After which, he made his way over to her so that he can check. "Can I check?" Alex smirked as she looked at Jay. "Well, you need to take off those shorts off for me first. Last time I checked, that was the deal; you get lingerie, I get boxers." Jay agreed with his wife, well aware that was the deal. So, on his way over to her at the door to their closet, he stopped at his dresser and took them off; that way, he was just wearing his boxers, just like Alex wanted him to be. And now that he was just wearing his boxers, Alex was happy, and their dogs knew that it was just time to relax as they both walked into their primary suite. "Yeah, you two just go relax on your beds." Turning her head, Alex smiled as she watched Jake and Maya make their way over to her for some attention, which she gave them by rubbing the top of their heads. "Go lay down you two, you can get more attention later." Jay agreed and smiled at his wife, who was currently on her way over to him and David. After which, she cuddled up to him and just smiled as she wrapped her arms around him.
Doing the same with his gorgeous wife, Jay smirked as he placed his hands on her butt and kissed her softly. And let's just say that had to be the favorite way Jay kissed her, because Alex just loves it when they both take things nice and slow with each other. "Listen, how about I help you with your robe? Then, we can both get in bed with David. We can keep him in between us so that we can both have time with him." Alex sighed, as that wasn't what she wanted to do. "Actually, I was going to do something else." Jay looked at his wife when she said that. "And what might that be?" Taking a breath, Alex sighed. "I was hoping to take a nap if that's okay?" Getting close to his wife, Jay moved his hand to the back of her head and just brought her close; while Alex wrapped her arms around his muscular torso and just smiled as she felt Jay press his lips to her forehead as he whispered to her. "Let's get in bed and we can talk for a minute as we eat, okay?" Alex agreed with Jay as she went to walk around their bed so that they could both get in this afternoon.
