Resident Evil 3 Remake Novel: Jill's Story.

Another Resident Evil story for you guys to enjoy, but not just any Resident Evil story, the third novelization franchise! That's right, this is the novelization of Resident Evil 3 Remake.

I just recently thought about doing this story right after posting the second chapter in Leon's story and I wasn't sure if I should continue writing it since I haven't even finished the two novel stories. I did some serious thinking for a few hours about the matter and in the end, I decided to keep writing the chapter. I was already going to write the story in the future; I just didn't think it would be this soon since I haven't even gotten far with my other two novel stories. Oh, well, it can't be helped.

Like in Leon's and Claire's story, everything will be based on Jill's point of view. I will also be doing the same thing to Carlos when he arrives at the R.P.D and the hospital. I'm not sure if I want Jill to explore the hospital, but I don't have to worry about that yet since I'm at the beginning.

With what I had to say about this story out of the way, let's get on with the very first chapter of Resident Evil 3 Remake Novel!

Enjoy the chapter.

Chapter One: Another Survivor.

Before Leon S. Kennedy's and Claire Redfield's horrific journey began in Raccoon City, there was another survivor, a survivor who had seen Umbrella's scary creations first hand before, a survivor who learned the dark truth about Umbrella with fellow members who tried to spread the word about them to the entire world and a survivor who had been in the city when the deadly viral outbreak started.

This survivor's name was Jill Valentine, a former member of Delta Force in the U.S Army, a beautiful young woman and a member of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service – S.T.A.R.S for short – in the Raccoon City Police Department, also known as the R.P.D.

Jill was pretty much a normal person with a normal life when growing up. She had a supportive loving family, a great educational school where she got top marks in every class, which earned her many different applications for jobs after graduation, and a strong sense of justice, along with a desire to protect innocent people from harm. The strong sense of justice, along with the desire to protect innocent people from harm, inspired Jill to join the U.S Army where she got the attention of Delta Force, a primary counter-terrorism unit.

Although the Delta Force unit doesn't usually recruit or enlist women, Jill was allowed to take part in the intensive O.T.C – Operator Training Course – for six months where she excelled in bomb disposal, lock picking, firearms training, extreme driving, flight training, hand-to-hand combat, practical maintenance to operate machinery and equipment, breaching and responding to tactical procedures, along with orders from higher ups.

After completing all the courses she had to do in the O.T.C for the last six months since joining the U.S Army, Jill was accepted into the Delta Force unit, which made her the only woman in the world to join such a unit because of the training experience, along with the capable to dismantle the most intricate explosives in a matter of minutes. Not even expert bomb disposals can disable a bomb in a matter of minutes.

But while Jill did like serving in the U.S Army and being a Delta Force member where she got close to a fellow member named Forest Speyer for the next few years, she didn't like the fact she had to sit behind a desk and do endless amounts of paperwork, making her become bored as hell. She joined the Army to protect innocent people from harm and do some risky action with her life on the line, not do paperwork behind a desk for hours until receiving orders, which could take days or months, something she's refusing to accept.

So, after a rather heated discussion with her superiors about not getting any orders, Jill left the U.S Army and Delta Force to find work that'll make her feel alive and let her continue to protect innocent people from harm. She knew Delta Force would greatly miss her and her incredible skills of lock picking and bomb disposal, but she needed to do this since working on paperwork behind a desk wasn't something she signed up for; Jill signed up for action and she was going to get action, even if she had to go against the law.

Luckily, going against the law didn't happen because Jill received a call from the R.P.D to join S.T.A.R.S, the special law enforcement for ex-military and veterans to handle difficult, dangerous and serious cases in Raccoon City. She immediately accepted the job since being a police officer was something she had considered to join if she didn't find any work in a few weeks after leaving the U.S Army and Delta Force.

Upon accepting the offer to join S.T.A.R.S in the R.P.D, Jill also received a free apartment room in Raccoon City, something she's extremely grateful for since she didn't want to wake up so early in the morning like two or three and drive many miles from home to arrive late at work where she would definitely earn stern warnings from her new boss, Albert Wesker, Captain of S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team. Jill was glad the job she accepted in the R.P.D gave her a free apartment room.

After finished moving into Raccoon City and signing the official paperwork to become a member of S.T.A.R.S, Jill met her fellow S.T.A.R.S members and became friends with them, especially Chris Redfield, who became not only a friendly rival during marksman shooting competitions, which he always wins, but her partner during cases. The two got along so great that many people, along with half of S.T.A.R.S, asked them if they are a couple, which they always denied with headshakes and small blushes.

Despite the repeated questions if Chris was her boyfriend from many people in Raccoon City, life had been good for Jill after accepting the offer to join S.T.A.R.S in the R.P.D.

Unfortunately, Jill's normal life as a normal person and police officer completely disappeared…on July 1998.

Between the spring and early summer, there had been sudden reports of grisly murders occurring in the Arklay Mountains, which is a huge forest that leads to the mountains and always covered in a thick unsettling fog, making the area dangerous and unsafe to go in. It is located on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The people who got grisly murdered in the Arklay Mountains were hikers and suburban families, their bodies covered in bite wounds.

The death toll wasn't that bad at first, which made the R.P.D sent search parties to find the missing hikers and families while figuring out what's causing the murders, but when more said murders happened in the huge forest with the search parties becoming murdered, the people in Raccoon City became scared and demanded the R.P.D to do something about it. In response, the R.P.D sent the entire S.T.A.R.S teams, both Bravo and Alpha, to the Arklay Mountains to investigate the murders.

Bravo Team was sent out first to investigate, but when Alpha Team suddenly lost contact with them after a helicopter engine problem, they immediately got onto a helicopter and flew over to the huge forest to investigate what happened to Bravo Team, along with the murders.

But the investigation turned into a survival nightmare.

The moment Alpha Team entered the huge forest after landing the helicopter to investigate what happened to Bravo Team, except Brad Vickers, who remained behind since he's not much of a fighter, they were immediately attacked by the killers that have been causing grisly murders to appear between the spring and early summer near Raccoon City. Said killers were not human beings but extreme not normal-looking dogs. They can almost be passed off as a rabid animal that needed to be put down…if they weren't missing parts of their flesh, which exposed the muscle and bones underneath.

The ravage horror-looking dog's attacked Alpha Team, resulting the death of Joseph Frost, who had been caught off guard from hearing twigs being snapped and loud growls. He wasn't even able to fend off the dogs in order to shoot his guns when they got the jumped on him. He died from being brutally eaten. Jill had been near Joesph when he was being brutally eaten and she watched the whole scene in paralyzed horror, haven't once tried to help him.

Even to this day, Jill greatly regrets for not helping Joesph when the ravage dogs attacked him.

Luckily, the other members of Alpha Team survived the attack by taking shelter at a huge mansion, but in the process of fleeing to the said mansion from the ravage dogs, Jill, Wesker and Barry Burton didn't know where Chris went. They assumed he made it to the mansion alive without getting bitten, they just didn't know where since the place was gigantic; you could get easily lost without knowing your way around, which would be a major problem.

Jill wanted to go back outside to find Chris and see if he's okay, but Wesker stopped her by using his authority voice, deeming it was dangerous with the ravage dogs out there. She was about to argue when they, along with Barry, suddenly heard a gunshot, making them turn towards the direction where it came from. They had first thought it was Chris shooting his gun, but they were wrong since the gunshot sounded different than his. The three Alpha Team members concluded it was either a member of Bravo Team who took shelter at the huge mansion after the helicopter engine problem or an armed person who works as a security guard.

Either way, the gunshot was something to investigate.

Wesker ordered Jill to investigate the gunshot after a moment of thinking and taking the situation calmly, but Barry decided to go with her since he and Chris go back a long way. He had been referring to the time in the U.S Air Force where they became friends. Wesker relented to the request and told the two Alpha Team members to stay sharp as they made their way towards the direction where the gunshot came from, while he remained in the main hall of the mansion to secure it.

Jill's and Barry's investigation of the gunshot led them to a huge, rectangular-shaped dining room where they came across a puddle of fresh blood on the other side, making the two grimace. Barry then told Jill to search for more clues, as well as the door they noticed after arriving on the other side, while he would stay behind and examined the blood closely. He also commented about hoping the blood is not Chris's. The young woman nodded and head towards the door she and Barry noticed to explore a different area of the huge mansion.

Right after Jill opened the door and began exploring a different area of the huge mansion – a hallway, to be precise – she encountered another horrifying scene, one that was much the same as Joesph getting eaten by the ravage dogs in the forest but different. She witnessed a member of Bravo Team, Kenneth J. Sullivan, who had been the source of the gunshot, getting his neck eaten…by a human being.

That's right, a human being had been currently busy eating Kenneth's neck in a loud disgusting manner, which was enough to make Jill sick. If she hadn't been paralyzed from watching the horrifying scene, she would've vomited in the hallway right there and then, but she somehow managed to hold the nausea in.

Of course, the human being wasn't really a human anymore, but more like one of those…zombies Jill has seen in horror movies. She didn't believe it at first since there was no way zombies can be real, but as she continued to watch Kenneth's neck being eaten while getting a close look at the human being's face when it turned around, she had been force to accept this dreadful fact: The human being was a zombie…a real-life zombie

When the zombie walked towards the paralyzed Jill, who managed to snap out of it, she all but ran towards the previous room Barry was in and warned him about the monster that had followed her, causing him to become shocked. After getting over his shock at seeing such a monster from those comic books kids really love, Barry had quickly aimed his magnum revolver and fired three shots, which was enough to kill the zombie before it collapsed to the floor.

The two Alpha Team members decided to report what they had just respectively learned back to Wesker after taking a brief pause to observe the dead zombie, but when they reached the main hall of the huge mansion, Wesker was gone, much to their shock. They spread out to look all over the room for him where they spotted many doors that would lead them to different areas, but other than the doors, they couldn't find the Captain of Alpha Team.

The night, which once started out good, went from bad to worse.

Not only did Jill and Barry have to find Chris, who is somewhere in the huge mansion, but they also have to find Wesker. Why he left the main hall when he said he was going to secure it, they don't know but they couldn't dwell on it since they have a job to do.

And so, Jill's journey inside the huge mansion that was in the Arklay Mountains began and she had encountered things it shouldn't be possible at all. She encountered not only more of the ravaged dogs and zombies, but plant vines, giant spiders, a giant snake, sharks, wasps, very annoying puzzles, Hunters, Crimson Heads, Chimeras, a mutated Lisa Travor and a Tyrant, the most dangerous creature of all time. It is known as a B.O.W, which stands for Bio-Organic Weapon.

Jill also encountered and witnessed the deaths of the three members in Bravo Team who have taken shelter in the huge mansion. Edward Dewey's body had been in the helicopter Bravo Team used when they were first sent to investigate. The three members Jill encountered in the huge mansion were Richard Aiken, Enrico Marini and Forest Speyer, all of them receiving different deaths. Forest Speyer was pecked to death by crows, Richard Aiken was eaten alive by the giant snake and Enrico Marini was shot by a traitor in S.T.A.R.S.

Jill did not know what happened to Rebecca Chambers, the final member in Bravo Team, the second female in S.T.A.R.S and the latest recruit, which was due to her being a prodigy genius, but she really hoped the young girl was alright.

Soon, Jill's journey in the huge mansion led her to an underground facility where she had not only discovered the truth about the grisly murders, but the traitor in S.T.A.R.S who killed Enrico Marini, along with the other members in Bravo Team, except Rebecca. She had thought the traitor was Barry since he's been acting strange every time they encountered each other throughout the mansion…but it wasn't him at all.

The real traitor…was Albert Wesker.

Wesker had been the one who led the entire S.T.A.R.S teams to their deaths, not Barry, who had been threatened by the former to do everything he says, otherwise his family would pay the price. Of course, the poor man doesn't even know his family is never in danger to begin with, it was only a cruel piece of blackmail leverage to get him destroy all the evidence in the huge mansion.

Wesker was under orders by Umbrella to have all members of S.T.A.R.S eliminated in order to test out both the T-Virus, the virus that has been the actual reason why there were grisly murders occurring in the Arklay Mountains, and the B. for combat data, while destroying all the evidence so that it doesn't be traced back to Umbrella. The Captain of Alpha Team succeeded in collecting combat data and destroying all the evidence, but he failed to silence the remaining S.T.A.R.S members who managed to get away from the huge mansion before it exploded, due to self-destruct sequence he initiated.

In the process of escaping the huge mansion, Jill and Barry, who had realized both the error of his ways and his family never being in danger, finally found Chris, who had been held as a prisoner in a cell underground ever since he arrived at the place through a different area.

In the end, only four S.T.A.R.S members managed to live through the survival nightmare in the Arklay Mountains, the nightmare that had changed their very lives and made them an emotional mess. The members were Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca. While Brad was a S.T.A.R.S member, he immediately fled the area with the helicopter after seeing the ravaged dogs attacked Alpha Team.

Right after arriving back in Raccoon City and getting checked out by the hospital, the remaining S.T.A.R.S members did everything they could to reveal the truth what happened in the Arklay Mountains, as well as Umbrella whose true purpose is to create deadly viruses and B. for testing. But since they don't have any visual evidence, due to said evidence being destroyed, the people in the city didn't believe them. It also didn't help that Raccoon City was controlled by Umbrella for years, which made it hard for the S.T.A.R.S members to spread the word about the company and the truth.

Soon, S.T.A.R.S was disbanded, later replaced with the new Raccoon S.W.A.T – Special Weapons and Tactics – to carry out tactical cases, despite not being trained or equipped to carry out search and rescue responsibilities, and the S.T.A.R.S members were discredited in the papers before being fired from their jobs as police officers. In a sense, it was good thing they got fired since they had a feeling the Police Chief would lock them up in jail or even killed if they kept trying to spread the word about Umbrella.

So, after two months of failing to spread the truth, it was decided the S.T.A.R.S members would investigate an Umbrella facility in secret, record evidence of the experiments scientists does, including the viruses and B. , and show the data to the entire world, which would be enough to convince people, particular the government, about the so-called company that creates cures for diseases.

But not everyone was on board with the plan.

Rebecca declined to investigate more of Umbrella since she doesn't want anything to do it, given how she had seen and experienced the scary creations during Bravo Team's investigation. No one blamed her for that decision; anyone in her shoes would've declined to investigate more of a company that got fellow comrades killed in order to test out a virus and monsters for combat data. Rebecca not only quit the team but planned to resume her studies outside Raccoon City, which she immediately left after a few days.

Jill, while wanting to investigate the facility, wanted some space from everything she did throughout the mansion since she hasn't recovered from the trauma, despite getting checked out in the hospital, so she quit the team but stayed in Raccoon City with Brad to gain more information about Umbrella.

Chris was the only person who went to investigate the Umbrella facility, which is located in Paris. Barry had wanted to go with him to get revenge for the blackmail leverage, but the younger man refused, saying it wouldn't be a good idea to leave a loving wife and two daughters behind on a mission that could lead to one's demise. So, Barry left Raccoon City to relocate his family from Umbrella, while Chris headed towards Paris to investigate the facility where a secret contact who learned the dark truth would be waiting for him.

With the S.T.A.R.S members going their separate ways but remaining in contact with each other, they thought things would be calm in Raccoon City since the grisly murders had finally stopped.

But it didn't.

This is the story of how Jill was thrusted back in the nightmare she still hasn't recovered from for the last two months.

This is how Jill fought for her life and survived the viral outbreak.

This is how Raccoon City got destroy off the face of the world.

And done! That's the ending of the very first chapter of Resident Evil 3 Remake Novel: Jill's Story! This took a while to write, especially the background of the Resident Evil 1 events. It was easy writing Jill's past since I used the Resident Evil fandom. I figured if I write the Resident Evil 1 events in the story, then the introduction would be great and provide an explanation what happened instead of just getting straight to the point. So, here is the introduction.

Like I said in the beginning of the chapter, everything will be based on Jill's point of view. The same goes for Carlos upon reaching the R.P.D and the hospital. Still not sure if I'm going to let Jill walk around the hospital, but I will think about it.

Anyways, here is another Resident Evil story for you guys to enjoy and I hope you like it. Also, be sure to check out my two Resident Evil novels, including the Kingdom Evil 2 Remake.

Write a review if you like this story and enjoy the chapter.
