A few weeks later, it was the end of April as the Chipmunks and Chipettes were sharing an interview with the winners.
Charity was still angry with Luke as she sat on the couch with him during the interview.
"So, how does it feel?" Gemma asked.
"Amazing!" Oliver says.
"So, as you know, next season is a season that will focus on couples. What are your thoughts?" Gemma asked. Luke left upon her mentioning the word couple.
"I'm entering with Penny." Shane says.
"Nice!" Gemma says.
Meanwhile, Ronnie Anne hugged Luke as he sobbed.
"Why are you touching me?!" Luke screamed and cried. "Just leave me alone! Leave me alone!"
"I just wanted to check on you. After hearing about your sibling issues, I was worried." She says.
"I WILL NOT ENTER NEXT SEASON!" Luke screamed.
"What are you on about? I just wanted to hang out with you…" Ronnie Anne says as Sid was spying and blushed a bit watching this.
Luke was emotionally unstable at the moment.
Meanwhile…
"And that's how we saved the world." Alvin says.
"And I thought this was about our victory." Shane says, walking off at that point.
Alem tuber was outside. "What did I say?" He tells Savannah.
"I'm sure they're going to behave at the gala." Savannah says. "I didn't send that invitation, though. Charity did."
Lucy goes into Luke's room to check in on him and sees scribbles of several couples on his walls. He was hissing at them, still emotionally unstable.
Lucy leaves, knowing he wouldn't listen at this point. Things were not the same for him right now. Lucy tells Charity as Charity felt bad for her son.
"I don't think he's going to want to attend the gala." Lucy says, knowing the dancing will break him. "We should probably delay it."
"I can't do that, honey. May 30th was the only date where I could book the caterers and the decorators on the same day." Charity says. "And the band has been booked for weeks…"
"Then I need to help Luke in 30 days." Lucy says.
A few days later, it was May 3rd. Shelby was planning Kat and Ana's birthday.
Shane was gone for the day, wanting nothing to do with it. He was already mad about the victory interview being sabotaged by "world-savers", so he was gone.
Meanwhile, Savannah finally got an award for her baking skills as she accepted it and was going to speak, but people were taking pictures as the chipmunks had a concert in Greendale. Savannah was a little annoyed. Ever since they beat Anti-Hybrid, Alvin had been annoying the Cosmic Buddies to death. She sighed and smiled, trying to not hurt his feelings.
The day before the party, Shelby was trying to bake a cake.
"Quit trying to involve me!" Shane screamed.
"Okay, okay…" She says.
"I don't know why I have to be at the party." Shane says.
"Music, but I'll think of something else" Shelby says.
"Oh, all right. But only for an hour. Then I have Final Fling stuff to work on at school." Shane says. "I can't stay for the whole party."
"When is that? May 30th or before?" Shiloh asked, sniffling.
"Before. And it's a high school dance. No little kids are allowed there." Shane says.
"No cannonball? I get it." Shiloh says and leaves.
"Shiloh, it's okay, honey, they're not going to divorce." Charity says, taking him up to his room for a story and a nap.
The next day, Kat and Ana woke up. Shelby stood above them.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Shelby shouted, tossing confetti at them.
The twins screamed, not realizing it was just Shelby. In their defense, Shelby had never been to their house.
"Thank you." they say.
"You sure know how to plan surprises!" Kat says. Ana was still shaking a bit.
"I'm s-sorry…" Shelby began to shrink down in tears.
"It's okay. Ana should be shaking. Ana, how could you forget the security system?" Kat says as Ana sniffed and tried not to cry.
Kat noticed the breakfast. "Why are there candles in the pancakes?" She asked.
"They're edible birthday candles!" Shelby says. The twins gasped and began to eat.
Meanwhile, Colleen sees Luke at school. Luke was helping paint one of the murals for the Final Fling, which would be a Springtime In Venice theme this year.
She helps Remy paint, noticing that he was tired.
"Are you okay?" Luke asked, concerned. "Do I need to call your mom? I can do that."
"You don't have to, Luke. I already did that." Colleen says.
Soon, Victoria helped Remy into the car. Remy sniffed and felt upset again.
Alem tuber was in school with Angry Luigi.
"It's settled. No more adventures until we're strong enough."' Alem tuber says. He wanted to train instead as the others were still injured.
Sally was spying on the twins, trying to see if they were improving.
Kat and Ana enter class to see gifts at their table.
They gasped. "For us?" They asked.
Shelby nodded as the ninja twins opened their gifts. Their gift from Shelby was cloth dolls of themselves. Shane helped her make them. They squeal and hug them.
Soon, it was lunch time. The twins were eating sushi and smiling. Shelby was eating her noodles.
Meanwhile, Alem tuber got a text from Alvin, who was asking about joining a new adventure as Alem tuber got annoyed and walked off.
Soon, school ended at Royal Woods Elementary as the ninja twins were walking together.
"We must be ready, Ana-San. Anything can happen" Kat says they arrive to see their house ruined.
"Our home! Dad will be mad when he comes home in 5 years." Kat says And looks at Ana.
"I told you to lock up!" Kat says. Ana cried while Kat hid her tears.
"A ninja doesn't cry." Kat says, even though she was sad, too.
Ana wiped her eyes. They then looked around their house.
Their stuff was gone as Kat groaned. "Looks like I'm going to have to get food." Kat says.
"Wario hasn't paid us." Ana sniffed.
"Then I'll get food, ninja style!" Kat says.
With Luke, he had come home, then he slammed the door after going to his room. The siblings were worried about him.
They make Lincoln check on him. Luke was still sad.
"You still hurt?" He asked.
"Why is everyone pressuring me into having a date?! Can't I just go to the Final Fling and the Gala Of Goodness without one?!" Luke hissed.
"You don't have to do what everyone tells you to. Brandy doesn't do romance, yet he's going." Lincoln says.
"Lucy thinks I need a girlfriend…" Luke sniffed. "She has half of the Oakley Academy high school female population after me…"
Lincoln goes to talk to her.
"Lucy, what gives?!" Lincoln says. "Luke told me what you were up to."
Lucy looks down "I thought if he had love, he'd be happy." She says.
"You were making him feel uncomfortable." Lincoln says.
"I'm sorry." Lucy says.
"Give him time. This was a lot for him to deal with." Lincoln says.
She nods. "Understood." Lucy says.
With Kat and Ana, they were out hunting for food. They still can't believe someone would mess up their home.
"Fishing is hard!" Ana whined. "Why can't we stay with Shelby?"
"Because we're supposed to stay alone in solitude." Kat says.
Ana starts to tear up and when Kat dashed off, Ana was about to cry, but a Sai nearly hit her as Ana knew Kat was aware. Kat and Ana gave up and arrived at their party as confetti fell on them.
"Surprise! Happy birthday, Kat and Ana!" Shelby and their friends shouted at them. The two young ninjas were surprised.
"Wow!" Kat and Ana say. "Is all this for us?"
Shelby nodded.
"Sweet!" Kat and Ana say.
The cups met up with Luke at a nearby cafe later that day.
"Hey." Cuphead says.
"Hey." Luke sniffed.
"How are you doing?" Mugman asked. "I'm sorry about what happened at school. I saw it all."
He explained as he tears up.
"Oh, Luke…" Mugman says, holding his hands. "It still hurts, doesn't it?"
Luke tearfully nods.
The twins were playing some party games, but Kat was busy training.
"It's a party, Kat! Lighten up a bit!" Shelby says.
"We got robbed." Kat confessed.
"I heard." Shelby says. "And as my gift to you, you can bunk with me tonight and for as long as you need to."
"We'll take it." Ana says as Kat covered her mouth.
"Sorry, but true ninjas must learn to survive on their own." Kat says as Ana bites her hand.
"Kat, this ninja thing is hard." Ana says. "And I want to sleep in a real bed for once. Not on the floor."
"You can. I'm going to sleep in the forest like a true ninja." Kat says.
"Those 2 are weird." One kid says, thinking they're faking it.
Later, Shane came on stage with his prized guitar.
"Hello, boys and girls!" Shane says. Everyone cheered.
"Are you ready for a song?" Shane asked. Everyone cheered louder.
"Well, I was told that two very special girls were turning six years old today. Why don't you kids help me find them?" Shane says.
They raised their hands up.
"Well, there they are!" Shane says. "Why don't you sit front and center so we all can see you better? You don't have to hide from me."
The twins leap in front and sit.
"There we go! Now, I'd like to start my show with a song that I worked on just for this occasion!" Shane says as he begins performing the song he worked on, which was his cover of "Ice Cream Freeze (Let's Chill)".
"Who can do the moves to this song?" Shane asked. "Can I get a volunteer to show everyone?"
Shelby raised her hand.
"Ah! Come up and join me!" Shane says as Shelby jumps on stage.
"Okay, so it goes like this…When I sing ice cream freeze, you have to strike a pose. When I sing do the milkshake, I want you all to shake your bodies. Then there's the snow cone slide, and you slide left to right. Then you raise your hands in the air." Shane says as Shelby demonstrates the moves. "Are you guys ready to do this awesome dance with me?"
The kids cheer and smile at Shane. Shane begins singing the song as the kids do the dance. Luna was watching from afar, smiling next to Luan.
"He's not a bad entertainer, Lu." Luna says to Luan.
Luan sighed. "And I thought Shelby would be the party entertainment. But you're right. Shane is incredible."
Later Kat took out her sword and slashed the piñata in half as candy fell out. Ana was holding her dog, Shadow.
As everyone grabbed candy, Shelby offered Ana some. Ana gobbled it up.
"Someone's hungry…" Shelby says. "Have you girls eaten since lunch?"
Ana shook her head.
Kat was outside, thinking about who would do this.
"Leo." she says to herself.
Soon, it was pizza time as Kat was eating her slice off her sword
"We can live on our own. I mean Ashley has a mansion to herself and Mona is usually alone" Kat says.
"You girls are staying with me." Shelby says. "And I will not take no for an answer."
"Fine, only because we need dog food for Shadow." Kat says.
"Who's ready for some cake?" Stephen says, entering with the cake that he and Shelby made and decorated to look like Kat and Ana.
The twins smiled and admired this. The cake really looked like them.
"Do you girls like it?" Stephen asked as he lit six candles on both sides of the cake.
"We love it!" They say. Shane led off the birthday song, smiling.
Kat and Ana wished their mother would come back some day and blew out their candles.
Stephen soon served the cake.
"What flavor is it?" Ana asked curiously.
"Chocolate. My famous triple chocolate brownie cake, actually." Stephen says.
Soon, Kat and Ana were gathering what they had left from their house.
"Come on! I want to take the leftover cake to my house!" Shelby says.
"Yeah, coming…" Kat says, nearly tearing up.
They soon arrive at the manor.
"It's almost as big as Ashley's place." Ana says.
They enter as most of the siblings was confused
"It's just for the night." Kat says.
Charity came down.
"Nonsense! You girls are staying as long as you like. And is this the cake from the party? I'll go put this in the fridge and ask Forest to start dinner." Charity says as she goes to the kitchen with the leftover cake in hand.
Kat sighed. "I'm going after Leo." Kat says.
"But it's dark out." Ana says.
"The greatest weapon of a ninja is the shadows." Kat says.
"It's our birthday." Ana whined.
"Girls, you can look for your friend tomorrow. Let's get you into the bath before dinner." Sharon ushers the three girls upstairs.
"Bath?" Kat asked.
"Baths are fun! I'll show you why!" Shelby says as she leads the girls into the bathroom.
"We should be training…" Kat grumbles.
Lola opened the bathroom door. "Ewww, you two stink!" Lola says.
"We do? Okay, fine, ninjas can't be smelly." Kat says.
Sharon smiles and adds some bubble bath into the tub. Ana went wide-eyed and grinned at this.
"Awesome!" Ana says.
They get in the bathtub as Kat just sits there. Ana was playing with the bubbles, but Kat kept poking them.
Soon, they finished with the bath.
"You're all clean!" Shelby says. Kat sighed.
"Now it's time to have dinner! It's sloppy joe night!" Shelby says, grinning.
"What's that?" Ana asked. The twins go downstairs.
Everyone was coming down after them as everyone was seated around the table, eating the sloppy joes and homemade fries.
Kat noticed Ana digging in. She sighed and began to eat.
"So, what happened to your parents?" Leni asked as Ana looked down.
"Leni, we don't ask questions like that to them." Forest says.
"No, it's okay." Kat says.
Soon they finished dinner as Charity went to get the dessert.
"Dessert?" The twins asked.
"I hope it's apple pie!" Kat says. Charity walked out with apple pie slices topped with vanilla bean ice cream.
"Ice cream…" Kat says. "Mmmm…"
They began to eat the dessert. Kat even got seconds.
After dessert…
"It's time for my favorite show! Come on!" Shelby says to the twins.
"Show? Oooh!" Ana says.
Kat was too busy working on a microgame for Remy.
"Hey, kids! It's time for another amazing adventure with your friend and mine, Blarney The Dinosaur! And His Back Door Gang!" The TV says. Ana was wide-eyed as she watched this with Shelby.
"Sounds like a Barney ripoff." Kat says.
"Remember the Backyardigans?" Ana asked.
"Don't care. We don't watch TV anymore." Kat says.
"Hey, my new commercial is going to be on!" Luke says.
"Oh, that's right! I forgot all about your shoot at Gus' the other day!" Shelby says.
They begin to watch the commercial as Luke grinned.
Later, Kat got her ninja gear. "Time to go on patrol." Kat whispered to Ana.
"Kat, sweetie. Bedtime." Charity says.
"I don't need…sleep…we've stayed awake for 3 days once..." Kat says drowsily.
A few moments later…
"She sleeps like a baby." Lola says before Ana starts shedding tears.
"Oh, sweetie, there, there…" Charity says, rubbing Ana's back.
"Our house is ruined because of me!" Ana sniffed.
"Honey, don't worry about that now, okay?" Charity says, holding Ana. "The most important thing now is that you're in a safe place."
Ana let out all her pent up tears. And as Charity held her, for the first time, Ana was feeling comforted and loved.
She fell asleep in Charity's arms as Charity took Ana to bed.
