Hello, Stargate Lovers!

Happy mid-week! On vacation... so here's a new little chapter to get things going. Curious it's middle of the week and this episode is about the Midway Station... I promise I didn't planned it that way.

Up head, a few time jumps... since we all know this episode and it's one of my favourites! It has Teal'C in it!

Ah! Gonna try to post a new chapter by Friday, so... And it's a good one. It's a big one! I hope! So stay tuned!

Chapter 29: Chapter 4x17

There was a lot of excitement coming from Samantha Carter and Alexandra O'Neill as the Stargate opened and the wormhole twirled. And a few seconds later, a smile opened on their lips as Teal'C arrived on the Atlantis base.

"Col. Carter. Alexandra."

"How are you, Teal'C?" Samantha asked upon the arrival of one of her oldest friends.

"Quite well. Thank you." The Jaffa gave a small nod to the women, happy to see them as well.

"Excited for this task?" Alexandra asked after her leader made a movement for both of them to follow her.

"Very much. From what I know, Ronon seems a very honest man. And warrior."

"He is. I'm sure you and Ronon will get along just fine." Alexandra continued before getting interrupted by her radio going off. " Sorry, have to go. Dinner later." She stated already moving in another direction from her two friends.

"Indeed." Teal'C gave her a nod.

"Great! Be careful." The scientist said as she walked away.

Confused, Teal'C raised his brow and looked at Samantha, who was smirking at the sudden change in the conversation.

"She's not wrong, Teal'C. She's not wrong." The colonel chuckled, placing a hand on the Jaffa's shoulder.

"Do you think they are getting along?"

Alexandra looked up to see John Sheppard enter her office and sit in one of the chairs in front of her by the tall table she used to study artifacts. He hadn't done that in a while and she had the sudden realization that she had missed that in all of those weeks while being angry at him.

"Nope. Ronon is probably hating whatever Teal'C is telling him." A smile appeared on her lips as she kept her eyes on the microscope. "And he's probably being his stubborn self and give hell to Teal'C."

"I don't see Teal'C going…"

"Angry? Oh, you don't want an angry Jaffa in your hands. They are very…" Alexandra looked up with a pensieve look on her face. "Hulky is probably the right word."

John raised his brow, leaning forward onto the table with a smirk.

"Wanna bet? My guy against your guy."

Brown found hazel eyes and she smirked. That did something to him.

"It's on, Sheppard."

"Great! Now, do you need me for something? I have nothing to do and I am bored." The pilot made his chair twirl.

"Sure. Can you put that box over there?" She pointed, not paying him much attention as she looked over to her laptop.

Wanting to be useful, John nodded and did as she asked. When he turned, she was watching him again. Now with a different look in her eyes.

"I didn't need to do that, did I?"

"Nope." She chuckled, shaking her head.

Giving her a playful smile, he walked to her side.

"You're mean, O'Neill." And without thinking too much of it, John turned her chair towards him.

"You should know me better by now, Sheppard." The scientist shrugged, enjoying the banter for a moment.

John's finger went to her brow, touching the faint scar from her previous mission, which had entailed on her team being attacked by local fauna.

"I heal fast." Alexandra leaned back slightly, realizing the intimacy of his gesture.

"I see that." The pilot realized the same and stepped back, placing his hands in his pockets.

"Is there anything you need from me, Sheppard?" She asked breaking the silence upon seeing the look he was giving her.

"Lunch."

"What about it?"

"Have lunch with me, doc."

"Hum, sure. I need a break anyway." Alexandra rubbed her neck, standing up.

"You've been working a lot lately since Lorne found those ruins." The leader in him commented, as he had barely seen her the past couple of weeks.

"I'm trying to catalog as much as I can." She said as they walked out of her office, moment forgotten.

As they got to the mess hall, they saw Ronon ready to shoot Teal'C.

"Ronon! Put the gun away." John approached their table and looked between the two warriors. "What's the problem here?"

"There is no problem, Col. Sheppard." Teal'C responded.

"That's good to hear. Ronon?" The SGA-1 leader looked towards his team member.

Since there was no response, John glanced towards Alexandra who was just beside Teal'C and shrugged, enjoying the two giants having a stare match.

"Alright. Why don't you take Teal'C down to the gym and show him your fighting techniques. I'm sure you guys can give each other a few tips."

"You are completely mad, Sheppard!"

"I've been called worse." John kept his eyes on Teal'C and Ronon as Alexandra shook her head at the match occurring in front them.

It was a show for the ages, really.

Samantha entered the gym upon the rumors of what was happening. She too was amazed, even if in a more concerned way.

"Hey, Colonel. Wanna place a bet?" John continued, barely looking at his commanding officer.

"What's going on here?"

"They're just blowing off some steam."

Of course the Atlantis leader had to break it off and give a few looks to the audience who ended up walking to their works areas, Alexandra included. But not giving a thumbs up towards Teal'C before she walked away.

The day went by fast and as soon as her favourite Jaffa arrived, he was leaving too, alongside Ronon, who was going for his review at the I.O.A. back on Earth.

Alexandra gave one last hug to Teal'C, giving him a few words and a curtsy before leaving as she needed to get ready for a mission.

"Col. Sheppard." Teal'C approached the pilot. "Thank you."

"For what, Teal'C?" John was confused. He was not very familiar with the Jaffa, but he respected him after the reports he had read.

"For taking care of one of my most precious friends."

"It's no big deal. It's my job to keep everyone safe."

"Indeed." The Jaffa, however, gave him a look.

And in that moment, the wormhole connected and Teal'C left with Ronon, leaving a thoughtful John Sheppard looking at the empty gate.

The Midway station was destroyed. And three weeks was too long to be enclosed in a small spaceship, with a bunch of scientists who couldn't shut their mouths.

He just wanted to have a good night of sleep, in his bed, as his quarters announced that someone was at the door. It was late, even for Atlantis. If it was Rodney, he was going to…

"Alex?"

"Hey!" She offered a smile the moment the door slid open. "I just got back. How are you?"

"I'm good. Tired." He leaned against the doorframe. She was a sight for sore eyes still in her muddy uniform, hair all messed up, glasses thrown up, her cheeks with a tinge of pink on them...

"I understand. I'll leave you to sleep. I'm sure you deserve it after what Rodney said. Have a goodnight." Alexandra talked with such haste that he had to give it a few seconds before following her onto the corridor.

"You talked with Rodney." He frowned.

"Yeah. He was in Sam's office when I arrived from ML-713. Look, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You need to rest, so…"

"Did you just used your powers on me?" John was confused by her visit, her words, her haste. And he was blown by the fact that he just wanted her to stay.

"Of course not. Can't I make sure a friend of mine is okay?"

"You could have done that tomorrow." He sounded impatient now. Why was too hard to just take a few steps, grab her and get inside his quarters to make her see how much he had missed her? How much he w...

"Maybe…" She interrupted his thoughts. "Wait, you have company in there?" Alexandra suddenly pointed towards his quarters. It was the only explanation for the way he was sounding. "Oh... I'm so sorry. John, I didn't… You're right. I shouldn't have… Forget I was here. Just go inside... And we'll talk tomorrow! Okay?"

"What… Alex… no…" But she had already disappeared from his sight as he finished the sentence.

Now, all he felt was frustration towards that infuriating and strange woman. But the thought of her assuming he had company troubled him. If anything, he had wanted her company as soon as he's seen her at his door.

"What the hell?! What... The... HELL?!"

Those were the words that kept going through Alexandra's mind as she walked away towards a transport to take her to the supply room to get rid of her backpack and do a health check.

What was the matter with her? She had exited Samantha's office the moment Rodney told her what happened and she had felt the need to check by herself if John was okay. Of course she could have waited until the morning, but that mere thought was strangling her.

Three weeks to know what really happened in the Midway Station had been too much, even if she had tried to scoure the galaxy for his energy reading. But she wasn't strong enough for that yet.

Of course the vision that Davos had given her didn't help, interrupting her workday or her sleep at night.

Of course he had company now. Of course, there would be someone that had been as worried as her.

Well, that was good. That meant he was not like Cameron. That meant that he was safe from any challenge the Ancients could thrown her way.

"That was good, right?"

Then why did she felt jealous?
