Chapter 5 blue:volunteers
It was getting a little late now while Fenix waited for Vance and his daughter Lavi to return. He started to get worried and maybe he should go out and look for the two. But he trust the boy with his daughters life. He's earned his trust over the past month helping around the house and paying to live here.
Everytime he says he doenst have to the lynx refuses and tells him its paying him back for his kind gesture. Fenix sighed as he sat on the ground near his front door. Soon enough his ears twitched a little as heard the sound of footsteps walking toward him.
He looked up to see Vance carrying his sleeping daughter on his back. Vance smiled a little as he nodded toward Fenix. Fenix got up as his back cracked a little. The man was getting old but he didn't mind.
"Ah their you are my friend….what took so long?"Fenxix asked as he slowly took his daughter off of vances back. She was sound asleep and she leaned against her father fast asleep.
"Nothing much….just got some ice cream. Met some students form shade….nothing happened"vance said looking away but Fenix could tell something happened. The man sighed and was about to say something but soon Bastet came outside.
She had on a night gown and walked outside toward the two.
"Well your back finally i'm guessing she had fun today."Bastet said looking at Vance.
"Yeah…took her to get ice cream. Then I took her around town letting her ride a camel for a bit. Should have seen her…she had fun"Vance replied smiling a little.
"I bet here i'll take her insdie why don't you two talk"bastet said as Fenix handed her their daughter. She slowly took her and carried the girl inside. Bastet slowly closed the door and Fenix looked at Vance.
Vance looked away rubbing his arm and fenix just rubbed his forehead. He then walked over to a set of chairs near a small fire pit. As he sat down he motioned for the boy to take the seat next to him. Vance was hestatent at first but fenix gave him a look that he won't take no for an answer.
The lynx then walked over as his footsteps crunch in the sand with each step. Soon enough he took a seat next to fenix as the lion then produced some frie dust. Fenix sprinkled a little into the campfire then he pulled out a match box.
He opened the match box pulling out a match, then he flicked it on the side. It sparked to life and the lion threw it into the firepit. The fire erupted and soon a flame started and it cracked to life.
Fenix put his hands together looking at the fire before he spoke"kid…..you've been starting fight again with the shade students haven't you?"Fenix asked
Vance turned away socffing which annoyed the lion. A couple weeks ago Vance started a fist fight a team from Vacou. They were talking about his father saying how their one less criminal in the world if he recall. The lynx didn't take kindly to that and started a brawl.
But he managed to win the fight because he broke two of the four students bones. One of them he fractured the kids jaw, another he broke their arm. While the other two had bruises the size of tennis balls on their face.
"No…just an argument is all"Vance replied looking away.
"And what would that argument be about?"fenxix asked knowingly.
Vance clenched his right arm tight as he looked into the fire. His eyes were illuminated by it and he didn't speak for a few minutes.
"One of them said my cousin deserves to be dead. Along with them saying his siblings should be dead. Someone kept talking dirt to his girl "Vance said as fenix sighed.
"Kid c'mon i understand he died before…but don't let their words get to you"fenix said reaching to place a hand on the lynx shoulder.
But he recoiled as he looked down at the fire rubbing his eyes. Fenix closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. He exhaled deep and breathed through his nose.
"Isn't their at least someone your getting along with here besides me and my family?"Fenix asked
"Their that rabbit chick since she date my cousin…along with some other girl"he replied
"Well then your family had a charmer like me anyone else?"fenix asked again
"Yumi…a panda faunus whos friends with my sister. Though I hate the guy shes dating with hes the reason I couldn't save my cousin"Vance replied
Fenix put his hands together and put them toward the fire to warm up a little"i've heard this from you before, my friend. He dragged you away while your cousin fought off some snake faunus and grimm yes"Fenix asked as vance nodded
"Yeah….it wasn't his fault he killed that girl. When I went on a mission for…dad a while back. I found him and I was happy to see him again. But then some guy who experimented on him controlled him…used him"Vance begun as he grabbed a stick pocking at the fire to stoke it.
"Then I used my semblance to help him which work. But I got a glimpse into his mind….some bad stuff was in there. He was in pain…but hide it from others so they didn't worry. I must have missed some of those mental suggestion when I helped him"Vance said jabbing the fire pit hard kicking embers up.
"Kid its not your fault…..he made his choice. One of you were hurt if you didn't leave all of you wouldn't be here today"fenix said reassuring the boy.
Vance growled at this as he threw the stick into the fire"really…you don't know what my family been through. My little sister tells me auntie was so happy seeing him again after soo many years. And now…i'm upset I had the opportunity to help him and I wasted it"vance said as he stared at the ground.
"My boy the only thing you can do now is try to do some good in the world. Along with that stop visiting that dam city…everytime you come back hurt. Me and your dad were good friends, when I heard he passed. I told myself I look after you for him."Fenix begun as he stood up walking toward the lynx.
The lynx looked at him as the lion soon embraced the lynx in a hug. Vance tried to break free but the lion wasn't letting go.
"Kid I know why you keep visiting that city. Your trying to see if hes alive….if you go their one more time. You may not come back again, please just enjoy your life for them."fenix added as he hugged the boy.
Vance layed his head on the lion shoulder as a few tears escaped from his eyes. He cried a little as they sat their for a bit. Until the lion let him go and both looked at each other.
"I'm going back tomorrow to the city….but its for something I need to grab from home. Something that my sisters would like to have to remember dad by. Is that alright?"vance asked looking at the lion.
Fenix sighed looking at the ground and grabbed a bucket of water. He walked over to the frie and dumped it on the fire dousing it.
"Alright…your only going back one more time. If you go again, i'm sennding you too your aunts got it"Fenix warned with Vance nodding. The two soon went inside to enjoy the rest of their night and get some much needed sleep.
Meanwhile across town in a small house made of brick sat a certain sniper. She walked inside and saw two other people in the house with her. Her two new teammates who were making dinner. Her and Nolan along with two others got assigned to be apart of a new team.
Their new team was OZNE(Ozone). Her two new teammates were a girl and another boy.
The girl was her new leader and she seemed to be eighteen, she has lightish tanned skin, he hair was dark brown and long that reached her back. Her eyes were dark yellow, she had some earrings on her ears. They were a pair of tonfa earring of a rising sun. She seemed to stand at 5.6 ft tall.
Her attire consisted of a pair white jean shorts with a pair of jet black leggings. She wore red jacket sleeves cut a little short to reach her forearms. On the back of the jacket was the picture of the rising sun with white and black lines making the image. She wore some short heeled shoes that were black in color. On her shoulder she had some apuldrons along with some armor on her biceps. Around her hip was belt with some pouches and holster.
But she sat on a couch and next to her was her weapon. Her weapon was round sheild with the image of a sun on it. Straped to the back of it was rifle that seemed to be a tanto colored with red and black. The blade was dark red while the handle was black. The weapons name was dawnbreaker
This was Opehlia Sunny
While the second person was in the kitchen cooking seemed to be seventeen, his skin was pale surprisingly despite living in vacou. He had light blue hair that had a bit of white mixed in as his hair glsitened. His eyes dark green and his hair was style short and shaggy. He a tail of his back that was a donkey tail.
He wore a pair of combat pants colored tan colored, he wore a pair of tennis shoes that were a mixture of colors. He wore a leather jacket that was light grey that had several pockets on it. He wore an undershirt that was a t-shirt colroed light blue. He had a bandolier across his chest carrying dust viles.
Off to the side on a weapons rack was his weapon. Which was a pair of daggers that were light blude on the blade. Below the daggers was a dust vial loader. They can turn into a pair of shotgun pistols. He calls his weapon Jewels
This was Earl peau
"Oh hey May….welcome back"Opehlia said with May barely paying attention to she walked to her room she heard someone clear their throat. She turned to see earl placing a plate of food on the table.
"Bet your hungry?'he gestured to a plate of rice, chicke and some vegtables
May was about to say something before her stomach growled. The two looked at her and she sighed as she took a seat. The girl was hungry because all shes had today was some coffee and ice cream. Not exactly a filling meal.
As may started to eat opehlia hoped up from the couch to join her. Their place wasn;t the best but it used to her old teams house. Ophelia slept in branwx old room while Earl slept in sighed because their family came by grabbing their belonging.
The three were quietly sitting their not talking to each other which made the atmosphere between them feel earl decided to break the silence.
"So…how nolans recovery going?"Earl qeustioned softly.
May was about to take another bit of her food but stoped. She layed her fork down on the table andlooked down. Its been getting worse at time he refuses to eat. He afraid of that thing still hunting him.
Because when they ran away it said some troubling stuff to them. May covered her eye where her beanie was and stared at the table. She gulped nerovusly before speaking.
"Its…been…bad…..everytime he starts to walk or run. He…freaks out, hes afraid of that thing coming after him again."may said as she shook a then sat next to the girl laying a land on her shoulder.
May grabbed it as she sat their staring at her food and decided she wasn't hungry anymore."i'm going to head to bed early tonight….see you tomorrow thanks for dinner"may said as she got out of her chair heading to her room shutting and locking her door.
Her two new teammates looked at each other a little worried. But they've tried connecting with the two but they have some trauma from the fall it seems.
Later in the night may was sound asleep in her room. She wore a white crop top with a pair of maroon pajama pants. She wore a eyepatch over her eye to cover it. May was asleep and she was tossing and turning repeatedly in her hammock.
Sweet beated down her forehead as she muttered to herself in her sleep.
"No…no….stay away…please."May said as she began to have a nightmare.
May and her three teammates were going through the streets of vale clearing out any grimm or bots in the streets. Nolan was in front using his cattle prod to stun their enemies while a another sliced them with a pair of claws.
He had dark purple eyes and he seemed to around her age, he had tan skin. His hair was shrot black hair that graduated to gray with his hair slicked toward the left. He wore a sleeveless top that graduated from gray to purple, along with a purple scarf, he wore black pnats with brozne kneecaps. He had a brozne buckled black belt and a dark purple scraf wrapped around his right leg and black boots with studded strap detailing. He also had three black straps one of them being studded on his left arm.
"Nice job Brawnz"Nolan complimented as the boy nodded
"Its nothing keep focused we got more civilains to evcauted."branwz replied as he ddoged a beowulf slash at him.
May took aim with her rifle as she shot down a couple wyverns in the sky. A purple beams hit both of them and it killed both of them. She smiled as she killed two of them at once. Then as she clicked her trigger again she heard a click. May then went into her pouch as she pulled out a new clip. As she loaded it in another beowulf rushed toward her.
But then another boy slashed at with his fist and their were guanelnts with circular saws on them.
He was a dark skinned young man with green eyes and brown hair style in cornrow dreadlock tipped in gold claps. He wore a green vest buckled closed on his left shoulder, over a black t-shirt and loose white pants rolled up to his knees. He wore a pair of fignerless gloves with white armor piece that were holsters for his weapons it seem. Along with wearing a pair of olive canvas sneakers.
May nodded her head to him"thanks Roy"May thanked
"No problem keep focus we still got alot of grimm to deal with. "Roy warned as she nodded.
The group dealt with the grimm soon enough in this area as civilians were running around a corner scared. One bumped into nolan who was confused what they were running from. Because all of them had a look of fear across their faces.
"What the heck are they running from it's just grimm"nolan asked.
But then from the corner a bodie was launched around it. The students soon became silent as they looked over at an atlas soldier torn in half. He was barely hanging on until around the corner some strange humanoid like creature appear. The thing walked toward the atlas soldier and brought its jaws down on him.
It started to eat him a little as the man was still clinging to life but soon passed. The grimm creature wiped its mouth off then sniffed the air. As he sniffed the air he muttered to himself outloud.
"Hmmm were is our traditor of the brother…his scent is getting cold"the thing said.
"Hey ugly what the hell are you doing!"nolan shotued getting its attention. The creature looked toward the students as it cocked its head.
"What I'm doing….i'm hunting new prey"he replied creepily.
Nolan chuckled a little"yeah and who would that be?"nolan asked sarcsticly.
The creature then moved his finger up slowly and began to point. Then he pointed at all four of them one at a time. The creature then smield showing off a row of sharp teeth stained with blood.
"You"the creature answered, smiling showing it teeth.
The four looked at each other as they readyed themselves. The creature then growled as he lunged toward the side of a building. Then it began to crawl along the side of the building srurpsing them. As it crawled and with each time it removed its claws it left a slash mark on the building.
May took aim at it lining her scope up with it. Then she pulled the triggered hitting it's back as it flinched a little. The creature looked toward may and growled at her. Then it started to crawl faster and soon lunged off the building toward the sniper. May aimed her sniper up high and was about to pull the trigger.
But then from the side nolan smacked it with his cattleprod throwing it to the side. The creature stumbled as a loud thud could be heard as it landed. Nolan smiled proudly as he hit the creature. Soon the creature stood back up growling again and looked at him.
Roy and brawnz moved in trying to hit the beast. But as roy swung his fist the creature smacked him away off to the side. Then brawnz swung his claws as the creature grabbed him with one arm with ease. And without looking threw him into may.
Nolan readied himself to face the creature. As it got close he swung his cattleprod but the creature grabbed it twisting his hands. Nolan groaned in pain as he twisted his wrist. Nolan was a little tired after fighting so many grimm. The creature then raised its head as he headbutted nolan. Nolan was dazed as his aura shattered.
The creature smiled as he looked down at nolans leg. Then he threw the boy down to the ground. Before he knew it the creature tore off nolan right leg. Nolan screamed in pain as his teammates watched in horror. Roy got up and started to charge at the beast.
Nolan had fear in his eyes as he began to crawl away from the beast. As he did the creature smiled throwing nolans leg to the side. Then he grabbed the other one starting to drag him. Nolan grabbed a nearby lamppost holding on for dear life. The creature kept pulling with all its might toying with its prey. Then finally a tearing and cracking sound could be heard as he tore nolans other leg off.
"Arghhh!"nolan screamed as he layed with both his legs missing as he sat their sniffling scared.
"Mhmhm thats one prey immoblize….now to–"it begun before roy socked it across the face. May and Brawnz slowly got up ready to fight. But brawnz put his hand up to May looking at her. May was confused what he was doing they had to get in their and held roy.
"Brawnz what are you–"may begun but brawnz stopped her.
"May your better at long rang, Nolans hurt. Get him to the docks so he can get medical aid. We'll hold it off"brawnz said
May wanted to speak but brawnz went over picking nolan up as he layed their barely conscious. Blood spurted from his wounds as he motioned for may to open her arms. She did and he sat nolan in hers. He was surpsignly light despite losing his limbs. May looked scared trying to get another word in.
"Dammit you two gotta leave, we got this!"Brawnz ordered, shouting. May flinched a little before gently nodding, running toward the docks with nolan. It was hard because she didn't have much strength. But she heard screaming and shouting, growling, tearing of flesh behind her.
Then from the distance she heard a howl and someone screaming"These two were weak! I'll find you my prey!"the creature screamed before howling into the ran with nolan in her arms with all her might crying.
Soon enough May woke up in her hammock shooting awake with sweet beating down her face. She looked around where she was. May noticed she was in her room and sighed in relief. But she looked out the window and it seemed to be six am. She sighed as she sat up in her hammock quivering.
"I'm sorry….i'm sorry…Roy…Brawnz…we could have saved you…but .."may said to herself stopping as she looked at their team picture. It was their first day together and she had an annoyed look. Nolan and brawnz had their arms wrapped around each other smiling. Roy crossed his arms smiling with a smug expression.
May smiled at that day she found them all so annoying at first. But she got used to them and she appreciated them and was happy to be on a team with them. Soon enough mays scroll buzzed and she picked it up. It was an announcement from their headmaster and her eyes went wide.
But over at the scarltina household right now they were just finishing up dinner for the night. Velvet and meg were cleaning up the dishes as jaki returned to his dwelling for the night early. Hes been staying with them everysince him and will have been working on a project. But he just sits in his room sometimes deep in thought sketching in a journal he has. On the couch right now was coco and will discussing something. That being what they'll be doing over break, along with something the scarltina parents will be doing.
"So once me and jaki are done supplying the students here with prosthetics. Were planning on heading to mistral"will stated drinking some water
"Why that? You guys got family up their or something?"coco questioned but will shook his head.
"I do have some family up their along with my wifes, but she has some back in menagerie if i recall"will replied
Meg was washing some dishes as she handed her daughter the ones she washed as she dryed them while she did velvet hummed a little tune. The two bunny faunus were cleaning up after their dinner for the night. It was a little dirty but they didn't seem to mind.
"Yes, along with that will has another project of his. It'll be in mistral this time which requires his full attention. "Meg said washing another dish then handing it to velvet.
Velvet ears flopped slightly"oh does that mean your leaving?"velvet questioned upset her parents were leaving.
Will sighed heavily"we are, but don't worry i've actually discussed with miss sadako early this week. She has a spare room you can borrow their. This temporary home was nice but…in mistral i'm closer to work. Also it makes visiting family easier"will begun as the two bunny faunus finished cleaning the dishes. Meg stood behind her husband placing hands on his shoulders. While velvet sat next to coco as she had a small upset look on her face.
"But what about bun here? She all the way in vacuo while your in atlas and shes in mistral. While her girlfriends in menagerie"coco pointed the obvious out
"She right, how will we stay in contact?"velvet asked upset but will gave a reassuring smile
"That is true, communication will be hard to do. But rest assured it'll be fine who knows some of your friends from beacon could be their. Which will make visiting nice"will added as it peeked the two interest. They've barely been in contact with anyone from team RWBY, JNPR, ZERO and any others they knew. All their teams have lost so many people lately, its disheartening but they could be their.
"That would be nice, some of our friends could be their. Maybe even wolfie"velvet added with hope
"Sucks that we have to share a house with winchester though."coco said as meg rolled her eyes at that
"Oh the boy who yank my daughters ears, i'm still pretty mad about that"meg replied but the two eyed each other because they haven't told the women about his punishment back at beacon. Will noticed the two eyeing each other as his interest was peeked.
"Why are you two eyeing each other?"will questioned with a smirk as meg ears twitched around looking at them. Surprisingly the one who laughed frist was velvet who was giggling at the thought of cardin dentetnion. This surprised her parents slightly since she was so reserved and quiet.
"What? Don't tell me you did something to him sweetie?"meg asked as coco snickered at that.
"Hmm how about him wearing a maid dress as punishment for a couple weeks. After messing with most of team ZERO"coco answered as the two sat their for a moment. Before meg started snickering a bit before laughing at that.
"Oh…your kidding right?i'm very surprised to hear thats a punishment at that school"meg said laughing still as her ears flopped around.
Will gave a small smirk"thats very interesting, jaki already told me on the way here to vacou. But…its still quite entertaining to hear. Though the boy seems to have regretted his actions"will siad as they laughed for a bit at hearing this story. But they soon made some small talk before heading off to bed.
Inside velvet room it was a simple room in design with a dresser, standing mirror to freshen up, along with a desk for someone to study or work at. Their was some container of hard light dust in the room since velvet needed so much for her camera. Along with that instead of the traditional vacou hammock it was a simple bed meant for two people. Their also sat a beanbag chair in the room with some stuff on it. But right now in some sleepwear was coco who wore some black compression short and a loose fitting tanktop showing her bust. While velvet wore some golden brone long pajama pants and a tubetube colored white.
They were already ready for bed but coco sat at the end of the bed rubbing her eyes without her signature aviators on. Velvet stretched a little before she headed off to bed as a loud pop could be heard which satisfied her. But she quickly noticed coco with an upset look as she sat next to her.
"Hey are you alright?"vevelt softly asked with a worried look
Coco sniffed slightly as she fought tears back"i'm good…you know me bun the toughest person in our little group. I never cry"coco said as her voice broke slightly as velvet soften her gaze because she knows she hurt right now.
Before coco knew it velvet pulled her into a comforting embrace holding it tight"look…you don't need act so tough infront of me. I..i..know you miss yatsu and fox…i do too. I also miss my boyfriend right now. Just let it out"velvet softly said shsuhing the tough girl who just had tears slip away through the edges. Coco then just returned the embrace softly crying for a bit for their friends they lost along with their teammates.
"I do..i..i wish they didn't die…i miss them so much"coco cried as velvet shushed her rubbing the back of her head petting it.
"I know…but their in a better place right now…all we can do is keep living for them"velvet said as tears welled up slipping away as well.
Coco buried her face into velvet shoulder sniffing"your right…but…at least they tried to do some good in the world. Why don't we do something fun this week in honor of them"coco suggested as velvet hugged her telling her she was all for it.
The two sat their for a while until eventually they decided to head to bed for the night. They layed down as coco was behind her wrapping an arm around her waist as velvet layed her head down. The two slowly drifted to sleep not relizing they too got an notification from the shade academy headmaster.
Morning came over the desert continent as cardin, yumi, coco, velvet, scarlet and sage were walking through the city of Vacou. Capital of the great continet full of bandits,theives, nomads and home to their huntsman academy,shade. The group were walking toward the academy because they got messages on all their scrolls which confused them.
"Ok anyone else weirded out about the message we got this morning?"sage qeustioned
"Hmm now that you mention it, it was strange. First they give us a week off now their asking for all teams to be present at the academy today. "Yumi stated
"This is so annoying"scarlet replied as he looked down in disppointment
"What ever it is I hope its quick me and bun got plans at the end of the week"coco added a little annoyed.
"Well their asking for us to volunteer for something or whatever. Maybe they'll tell us what it is once we get their"sage added
Cardin was thinking about the message he got this morning. All the teams got it asking for most of the teams to come to the school. Theodore the headmaster of the academy was pretty vague with his message.
But he was also a little worried about a certain lynx faunus. That guy been a real jerk to everyone lately. He's started fights with people who talk smack about his family. Vance must care alot about his family which is understandable. But he's also pushed people away trying to help him.
If he keeps doing that he may go somewhere dark and never come back.
"Look, whatever this is, I hope it's something good. Probably helping with a parade or something"Cardin suggested
"Maybe…or it could be something elese entirely"velvet added as her ears twithced a little.
Soon enough the six arrived to be met by a small crowd of studnets it seems. Maybe most of the students decided not to go since it said volunteer work or something. But from what cardin could tell he saw Mays team minus nolan. Guy probably at the hospital right now still grieving.
But in front of them was a large stage with a podium in the middle of it. Seems their maye be a speech going on today. Cardin scratched his head wondering what exactly their going to do today
Then as he looked around at the other teams he noticed Team NDGO was here. Surprising to him because they don't seem like the type to do this type of thing. But he noticed someone familiar in the crowd with three differents shades of color in her hair. Although cardin couldn't put his finger on who is was.
Soon enough on the stage Theodore along with someone from beacon they didn't expect to see again for a while. Their on stage was Proffessor peter port. The professor who would never stop talking about himself. He always had a story to tell about something.
Theodore tapped the mic to get the students attention as they murmured about what was going on. Theodore cleared his throat and brought the microphone up to his mouth.
"Students of Shade and Beacon, you may be wondering why I aksed you to come out today. You see I've received word from our fellow huntsman and huntresses in Vale about something dire. "Theodore begun echoing as the students murmured more.
"What happen in vale now?"a shade studnet whispered.
"Don't know lets hope it nothing bad, better not be another mistake from their school"another shade studnet added as the remaining beacon students glared at that while cardin looked down annoyed at that. The entire thing was a tragedy that affected everyone it could have happened to them as well.
"Today we are requesting twelve of you to head to beacon and provide some support to our fellow huntsman and huntresses. You will be gone for a few days but you may be wondering why were asking you to do this"theodore said as he motioned for Port to take the stand.
The old man cleared his throat and spoke"Ahh its nice to see some familiar faces in the crowd along with some news ones. Today I came on behalf of headmistress goodwin. You see last week we've had reports of several armed soldier raiding the city along with that their seems to be small pockets of suviviros in the city"port begun getting some of the people attention. This caught velvet, cardin and coco attention especially it seems.
"What? No way someone survived that long in a grimm infested city"sage questioned not really believing it.
"Hmm its possible, you never known how stubborn or resilient some people are. Maybe some of them huntsman or students from other schools"scarlet suggested.
"Maybe they could be"cardin replied as he narrowed his gaze a little continuing to listen.
"So I ask of you today not as students but as huntsman and huntresses. Who will step up to the task and help us with our efforts to combat the grimm"port asked
No one from the crowd seemed to step up for the task, all them were with hesitant to go. Along with wondering who would even be crazy enough to do someone raised their hand and it was cardin with a determined look on his face.
"I will"Cardin exclaimed as he stepped up to the others watched him confused and surrpsied he'd volunteer for a sucide missions like that. Coco sighed as she rubbed her temple.
"Dammit this guys an idiot, hes going to get himself killed"coco said to herself aloud. Then velvet pondered for a second before walking up the front surprising coco. The fashion monger followed the bunny faunus to the front.
"Bun what is the heck are you doing?'coco asked
"Well if some of our friends are trapped in vale….we could help them."velvet said as she joined cardin in the front. Coco sighed looking at her teammate then smiled to herself and walked over joining them.
Thats three anyone else?"port asked a whole team stepped forward to join. The team in question was NDGO with nebula having a big smile on her face.
"We'll go might as well show these beacon students how we shade students get it done"nebula said confidently as some of the shade students laughed a little. Theodore sighed at that because he thought they would be done with the hazing by now.
"Now that seven, a lucky number but we still need five more"Theodore added looking through the crowd. Soon enough two more people walked through the crowd to join them. One was familiar to cardin being yumi who had a cheeky grin across her face as she joined the line.
"Wait your not a huntresses what are.."dew began but yumi put a finger up in her girl looked annoyed at her as yumi decided to stop her.
"Hey I may be a drop out but you never know when you'll need a hacker for something"yumi interrupted putting the vacou girl down. Then she walked to cardin standing by him.
"I'll go to might be fun"naca said as she walked up to join the as she did some of the students murmured as she walked up their.
"Seriously her…good luck with the girl whos family is filled with killers."a student added
"Yeah her family name is pretty much screwed here since her ancestor killed his brother"a female student added
Naca heard the words they were saying. But she kept her head up high and ignored them. She she then stood by the group joining them. Although she felt a presence staring at her. Naca turned to see gwen staring at her.
"What are you looking at?"naca questioned looking at Gwen.
"Nothing just a little stunned that your here vincent"gwen replied
" were surprised to see you here thought you be at haven right now?octavia added
That where he knew her from Naca Vincent from team BBNT. Shes from haven academy but why is she all the way in vacou right now. But her family seems to have bad blood here in vacou maybe. Which didn't seem to be really good for her.
Naca shrugged her shoulders"their a break going on at the academy right now. Came here to check up on some family that lived here. Maybe see if bashira is here"naca replied
"Wait your leader…is she not at havan or something?"dew questioned confused
"She didn't show up probably back in vale i'm guessing or here. But no luck"naca said as they continued to listen for any more volunteers that might join them.
"Alright we need three more and then you all will need to make your way to the airships to take you to beacon. "Theodore said.
In the crowd May wanted to raise her hand but stopped. She wanted to go and maybe get revenge for her teammates. But theirs also a small bit of hope that maybe roy or brawnzi could be alive maybe. Opehlia noticed the snieprs distress and smiled a little putting her hand up.
"Hey Team OZNE will join"Ophelia said surrpsing May and Earl.
"Ummm Ophelia are you sure about this were down a man"earl added
"Don't worry Nacas coming I know the girl. Plus lets see if any of our friends are still their."ophelia said smiling at gave a small smile as the group went to join the others upfront.
Port bellowed a harty laugh before speaking"bravo students now I'm not going to hold it against the rest of you. But in my opinion this mission may be dangerous but think of this as extra credit in a way."port said as he let theodore take over on the stage.
"Alright then students you may go enjoy the rest of your break. The rest of you who volunteered head you have thirty minutes until we leave"theedore said as him and port walked off stage. The crowd started to disperse as team CFVY and CRDL regroup with mays groups.
"Are you all actually going back their? Right now the entire place is crawling with grimm and probably those knights"sage warned with worry for the group.
"He's right, you sure thats a good idea right now?"scarlet asked concerned but cardin gave a determine look.
"Look if their stills survivors their and they need help. Its our job as huntsman and huntresses to protect the citizens of remnant"cardin stated stocily.
"Couldn't have said it better myself"coco aded smiling jabbing the bully shoulder. Cardin rubbed it smiling and looked toward his teammates.
"Hey May surprised to see your team coming…will Nolan be alright?'velvet questioned with concern.
May rigned her hands together nervous about that. She looked at the ground frowning a little because she was indeed worried about her friend. It would be a few days but something may happen to him.
"I'm a little worried about that…hes been doing better lately. But hes been really depressed"may said worried as scarlet heard of this predicament. Then decided to offer something to help relax the sharpshooter.
"Look me and sage along with some others we know can keep an eye on him. Along with me keeping him company okay. I'll make sure he's alright i promise"scarlet reassured which brought a smile to her face as she nodded.
"That…that would be great i appreciate it. But you better not be fooling around to make him get out of his slump"may joked as scarlet rolled his eyes at that.
"I won't, i'll just keep him company and treat him out to his favorite places. "Scarltet said
"But make sure you guys come back alive, rather not lose more friends their"sage said with cocnenr for the group, along with warning them of the coming dangers. Cadin smiled offering a fist bump to sage who looked at it for a second before returning it.
"Don't worry we'll come back alive and whos know maybe we'll find some old friends. "Cardin replied
"You could, but the likelihood of that is slim. Alot of the students are either here or some are missing"opehlia added.
"Look if were done here, we gotta head out. "Naca suggested since they kind of needed to leave.
The girl was right but their was no time to dilly dally. They all said their goodbyes and wished each other goodluck. Along with yumi calling her mom telling her she was leaving, she was against it at first. But cardin reassured he'll keep her safe which made the women relieved.
Velvet also did the same thing as her parents were very much against her returning to that city. But coco told the two about survivors in the city which caught them off gaurd. After some discussion they allowed it but told them to be safe. The group made their way to the ship to take them back to vale. The city of grimm belonging to grimm now to help take it back.
But as they did they noticed team NDGO staring into the ship just standing there. Which confused them as they started to walk over to them. Several soldiers were loaidng the ship with suppiles and they were desparados.
They were loading in spullie crates made of wood or metal onto the ship. Some of them seem to be building supplies, medicine, food, ammo you name it. But along with getting back up they must be doing a supply run as well.
Near the ship was a man who wore a beret and was smoking a cigerete looking at the group. He inhaled his cig deep before blowing it out his nose. Smoke plummed from his nostril as he took it out holding it.
"So your going back to the city huh…well you all becareful. My second in command will instruct you on your mission along with a friend of mine that will be heading with you"the man said
"Umm excuse me sir, who are you?"velvet questioned the smoker
The man laughed as he bowed to the group"names Decker Shaw, leader of my mercenary group. The reason i'm here is to give supplies to you before you head back. Pretty sure the old guy inside with a friend I know will give you mission details."decker said as he started to leave the group to coordinate more supplies.
The gorup made their way onto the ship as they heard a small argument going inside of the ship. It sounded like Team NDGO was arguing with someone inside. Which didn't sound good at all.
"Are you kidding me hes the guide for the city. Come on"dew groaned.
"Hey I'm only doing this gig one last time before I don't go back their again. I don't like you four at all but here I am"the voice said sounding male it seems.
"Ughh just stay out of our way fish boy and we won't have problems"gwen replied.
Soon enough the group made their way onto the ship and saw who NDGO were arguing with. Their near the pilots cockpit was a certain lynx. He had a glare as he traded his originally outfit for something else.
He now wears a pair of combat pants colored black. On his hip was a knife in a sheathe and some pouches on his side colroed brown. He traded in his sweater for a long sleeve grey shrit under a jacket. The jacket was thin it seems and it was colroed dark brown and had the collar popped up. It seemed to be made of leather. He wore some sneakers that were grey in color. On his wrist was his rope dart launcher and on his hip a pistol holstered. But around his neck was a clubs necklace of a playing card.
Vance looked over at the others and glared at a few of them. He scoffed as he sat back down looking at his scroll. Port looked at the group motioing for all of them to strap in. They did as they were told as they all strapped in for their trip back to Vale.
Soon enough the platform they came in from went up. Then upfront the pilots flipped some switch and buttons to start the ship. Soon the engines roared to life and soon hovered in the air. Then once it was far enough in the sky their ships engine roared as the ship headed back to Vale. Who know what they have in store for them when they get their.
The group has volunteered to traverse a city full of grimm it seems as some hopes to find some good news in those ruins. While this introduces ophelia and earl my own OC's. Though tension seem high find out till we get back to them. Thanks for reading
