In the last chapter we saw how the safehouse group was doing with tia confronting the faunus on their white fang connections. Chapter 7:Base Camp
The skies above Vale filled with smoke still. Several grimm proweled the streets looking for their next prey. But in the skies a cargo ship was making their way into the city to delvier some help and supplies. In the ship everyone was quiet because none of them wanted to talk.
Though that dind't stop port as he told some stories about his youth to keep him entertainment. The vacou students groaned to themselves as they heard him telling more stories. While Cardin,Velvet and Coco just intently listened to the old mans stories.
They got so used to it being apart of their schedule it might as well be apart of their class subject. But his stories did get old from time to time.
"Now their is the tale of how I single handly killed a griffin with nothing but an acorn. Although they may be tough to dispatch at first. Clipp their wings at first to ground the blighters."Port said
Team NDGO seemed to be dying of boredom after listening to the old man story again. Along with May teammates dying of boredom. Naca just drowned them all out listening to some music with her headphones.
"Hmm so if we run into any of them we go for the wings go it"Vance said as he polished his weapon. He seemed a little firendly to the old huntsman. Port nodded to the lynx faunus who smiled.
"Man its going to be weird coming back here after leaving it"Velvet said as she looked out the window. The place was destroyed their were several buildings either desotry or had smoke coming out of them still.
Along with grimm roaming the street that seemed to vary from different species. Some of which they haven't seen in Vale before which was strange.
"Your telling me…all I have from here are some bad memories"May said as she sat next to them.
May and her team were actually the only other Shade academy students friendly toward the group. Which was a little ressruing to them because at least their were some decent people in their school. Mainly for the rabbit as well after all those terrible rumors
Soon enough something rocked the ship. Their was a loud thud against the ship causing them to shake. It seems something might have hit their ship in the air.
A few people were standing up which were octavia, earl and cardin. The three stumbled onto the ground falling down. Octavia rubbed her side wondering what exactly happened just now. While earl rubbed his head as he banged it against a pole in the cargo ship.
Cardin got up slowly and got close to the window. As he looked out the window wondering what exactly hit them. Their was nothing except the sky and it was cloudly it he looked outside soon enough he noticed a black pair of wings on the outsie of the ship.
Then he saw the head of a predatory bird. He saw that its head, wings, leg, and talons werre a bird, While the tail and body of it seemed to be a tiger. Its fur was black with feathers also colored black. Their was a white bone like spine on its body. Their was a row of bony spikes on its wings. Its skull was birdlike and its beak was bone white, it had four red eyes, along with gray webbing on the sides of its beaks.
"Ahhh what the heck is that!?"Cadin shouted stumbling back to the ground as port came close to the window to see what he was staring at. Port chuckled to himself and turned to the gorup as he presented his blunderbuss axe.
"That children is a griffon but don't worry were close to the camp. It should be dealt with in…"Port began as a loud sniper shot went off. May looked out the window as the grimm was shot by a large bullet. Then several more went off dealing with more grimmm near their ship.
Each time a loud shot rang out and on the ground a certain sniper was dealing with them. He took a dust bullet and loaded it in the top of his rifle. Then he pulled the hammer back to load it in. He centered his sights on the last griffin then shot it.
The grimm exploded in a firery explosion falling to the ground.
Back in the ship everyone was wondering what was going on exactly.
"Whoa is it always like this?"Earl questioned as he held onto his seat.
"Uh yeah are you sure its safe to be here?"Dew questioned concerned.
"Oh don't be worried, our friend providing support on the ground seems to be a deadeye."Port added laughing a little.
May smiled a little as she leaned back into her seat"if so I like to meet the guy, maybe even ask him for little dual"May said in confidence as a few of them laughed at it. Whoevers down their might be a better shot than her and smoke her with his accurary.
Soon enough the ship made its descendant down to the ground. The ship hovered in the air as its engine hummed. The cargo ship made its descent slowly but rumbeld a little.
As it did the ship shaked a little but this time they held on tight so they didn't fall down. The ship engines started to die down as the back hatch opened.
Then the students slowly got out of the ship to see where they were. Several people were running around a makeshift campsite that was large in appearance. They seem to be in the harbor district judging by the hangers.
Several atlas soldiers, desprado,s huntsman and huntresses were around the place coordinating. All of them were talking amongst each other. Some were preparing their gear and weapons for something. Along with that people were running around all over the place.
The students then slowly made their way off the ship looking at the place.
Soon enough some workers came over as they unloaded the supplies they brought with grabbed the crates with some hover dolleys and some carried the boxes.
Then a familiar teacher came toward the group with her crop as she waved it in the air. Some of the crates became covered by a purple hue as they were lifted off the cargo ship. The students looked at this toward the source.
Their a familiar teacher who was the assistant of Ozpin along with being a combat instructor stood their. She moved the boxes close by setting them down gentle as she deactivated her semblance.
Glynda goodwtich stepped forward examining the group smiling a little.
"Welcome back to Vale students, now if your ready to assist us. Drop your belonging and gear off at the barracks. You all share barrack number seven. "Glynda ordered as the students grabbed some bags they brought. They didn't know if they had enough supplies so they brought their own.
Port guided the students through the camp toward their barracks. Cardin looked around a little amazed at the effort going on right now to take the city.
He passed by a mess hall and inside were several people enjoying a warm meal from a long day of slayin grimm. Alot of them seem to be getting along, but alot of them looked tired. But he also noticed seveerl Vale City Police here are as well.
"Alot of cops here it seems"Cardin pointed out as the group looked around.
"Yes, most of the vale city police department are helping us with effort of dealing with the grimm. But during the first couple weeks they helped with locating any fallen students or civilians during the fall."Port replied
"Really….have they found anyone yet?"may questioned with some hope in her voice.
"Not yet but a few from beacon are presumed missing or passed away. One of which, three of you are familiar with"Port suggested looking toward velvet,cardin and coco.
"What do you mean by that?"Coco questioned with her hand on her hip.
"I'll show you later along with vance, we just discovered something about some of our students. "Port replied as vance eyes lit up. Port then lead the group through the camp to their barracks.
Soon enough the group got to their place of living for the next few of days before they leave for vacou. Port opened the doors and it was a simple military room it seems. Their were bunk beds in their seating around fourteen people in their.
Team NDGO went to the right side claiming their bunks. While May team and Naca claimed the middle and the elft side. Cardin,Coco,Yumi and Velvet went to the left as they dropped their stuf off. Vance meanwhile dropped his close to the entrance as he just left his bag their.
Then he immediately left the tent heading off watched this a little concerned what he was he unpacked his gear as he set some clothes underneath the bunk to change into after they leave.
"So what do you guys think we'll be doing here?"yumi asked
"Who know probably eliminating grimm in certain areas and finding those mysterious survivors"Opehlia replied as she looked at her shield and tanto. She looked at her sword before sheathing it. Then she put it underneath her shield as it clicked in place.
She slipped it on her back and Earl flipped his daggers as holstered them to his side.
"Maybe….but it seems like theirs alot of huntsman and huntresses here."May pointed out as she unpacked her bag. She pulled out some spare dust and ammo. Along with some other stuff placing them near her bed. She then sat on it as she looked at her weapon.
May then took out a rag and began to polish it a little to make sure it was clean.
Cardin sat on his bunk digging through his bag. He dug through it until he pulled out some protein bars. He took one and took the wrapper off. He began to eat it while Coco was busy unpacking her stuff.
Coco heard the sound of a wrapper and turned toward the bullie. She rolled her eyes as she continued to unpack.
"Your already eating something?"Coco question as she unpacked.
"Why not we don't know when we might eat again…might as well have something"Cardin replied which coco did agree with it seems. The students continue to unpack the rest of their stuff. If they were going to stay here they needed to get comfortable for their temporary stay in Vale.
Meanwhile in another part of the city several mercenary from the crimson talon were hold up in the vale city police department. Two soilder were near the front entrance behind some sandbags. They had a large machine gun in place ready to dispatch any who stand in their way.
Inside several of them were preparing for something. Some were loading and doing maintenance on their weapons. Along with a few dismantling the vale city police department for any tech they could use.
But in the center of a large table with a map of the city was their leader, Hassan. He stared at the map and it had several spots circled in red across it. Some of them said camp with a small tent drawing next to them.
But near the harbor in a big red circle in big letter read main objective. He glared at that spot as he rubbed his eye. His right eye was missing now and replaced by a eyepatch he wore over it. As he stood their studying the map soon a noise could be heard behind him.
The man turned behind him to be met by a familiar test subject he knew. Their behind was Conri along with another one of the illusive test subjects.
The other one with him was a man that was large in appearance. His skin was ghost white and he had black fur on his arms and chest. He had on a pair of black combat pants with crimson on it. He was barefoot and he had sharp talons on his feet. He wore no shirt but he had abbs along with a muscular and athletic apperance to him. He had black hair with strands of brown it it. He had a pair fo sabertooh fangs but one was missing. He had a stubble on his face that suggested a beard.
"Their you two are…did you have fun dealing with the cops in the market district"Hassan asked already knowing.
Conri then slammed his hand on the table. He moved it revealing a blood officers badge on the table. Their were four in total and hassan smiled. The beowulf hybrid returned the gesture as he picked at his teeth suggesting what he did to them.
"Goodjob that didn't do much to their forces but it did help us for now.'' Hassan said as he cotninued to study the map.
The sabyr grimm knight chuckled as he took a seat propping his feet up. He leaned back a little while he scratched his chin a little.
"Come now Hassan this is child play, when are we attacking their main camp?"he questioned with a hispanic accent it seems.
"Subject Zeta don't question your orders. We'll be attacking them soon I just need to confirm that one of the hunstmans their are here"Hasssan replied studying some pictures on his table.
Several pictures were taken of the camp and they were of various huntsman in the camp. Along with despardos soldier and sqaud leaders. He had an objective from Watts that his son failed. He forgot to bring back and recover subject omega. But when they went to his bodie last time.
They must have returned him home but Conri had been scouting the area for him. He can smell him around the market district but can't seem to find him. Kid must be blocking his scent or his dead bodies rotting somewhere.
"Hassan that isn't my name…its diego…get it right next time or i'll claw your other eye out"Diego warned the mercenary he scoffed at him all these two freaks were to him were tools. Once they ran out of their use they would be put down.
Hassan scoffed as he picked up a flask and drank from it. Then he twisted the cap back on it as he studied the map. Then one of his soldier came rushing toward him in a hurried state. He whispered something to him and hassan went to a bulletin board.
The two grimm knights looked at each other confused as what he was doing.
"What is it hassan?"Conri questioned as he tapped his claws on a each tap a clacking sound could be heard.
"I just got word they transferred some supplies along with more huntsman. They seem to be students….their that desperate calling in kids for this. "Hassan smiled as he looked at the bulletin board.
The board had his objectives given to him by Watts and his queen. Objective one was to hold Vale city from huntsman control. The second was to find any maidens that may arrive in the city. Then objective three from watts was find subject omega remains. Four and final objective was destory the main base of the huntsmans and huntresses in the city.
Back at base camp the students moved their way through the camo admiring it a little. Despite it not being soo big they seem to know what their doing. Their were stone walls around the place suggesting they built them. Maybe someone here has a semblance to do that maybe.
Along with watch towers watching the walls along with barbed wire surrounding it. They had a holo gate that let people in and out of the place. Soldiers moved around the place and seemed busy at work.
Velvet looked around wondering if any of their old teachers are here. Then as she looked around she noticed a familiar weapon smithing teacher at a smithing table. He was working hard as usually and using his skills to help save vale.
He was surrounded by a few workbenchs, they had several tools ranging from screwdrivers, hammer, saw, and many more. Along with that he had a grinding tool to shapren any weapons he had. But their was a rack and barrel filled with weapons.
Their were so many different types and variety it be hard to figure out which one is which. But another man was with him as he was working on repairing some weapons it seems.
" "Velvet said as she went over to the teacher. He was busy working on fixing a short sword it seemed.
Mulberry was with another man who was doing weapon maintance. Mulberry smiled as he set the sword he was working on down.
" its great too see you again, how have you been my dear"Mulberry asked
"Oh better sort of dealing with a slightly broken heart. Strange to be back here though "Velvet replied looking around the place. Vale was completely different to them now. It was the rabbits home and now it was in hoped that someday they could return it to its former glorly
"Don't worry soon enough once we clear out the grimm. We'll begin contrscut and repairs to return the city to its former glory"mulberry reassured the rabbit.
"Also it takes time to heal over the loss of someone you loved"he added somberly
"Hey what am I chopped liver over here introduce me"the man with mulberry announced as he ejected a shotgun shell from a pump action.
"Oh sorry this is DJ, he's a weapon store owner here in the city"Mulberry said as Velvet ears perked up a little.
"Wait didn't you give my wolfie and my boyfriend team a discount on their gear since they did a job for you?"velvet asked
DJ laughed a little smacking his knee at that."yeah I did your those two girl a polymary relationship wouldn't have iamgine that….haven't heard from those four in a while. How they been?"DJ asked
"Umm its three now….my boyfriend died"Velvet replied rubbing her arm. DJ went wide eye and leaned back in his chair shocked.
"Holy shit….guess he put those weapons to good use for a last stand"DJ said baffled it seems as he looked at the ground.
Velvet looked a little confused by that wondering what he meant by that. But soon someone called to the rabbit faunus before she had time to question him further.
"Bun! Come on we gotta get to briefing"Coco shotued.
"Oh coming"Velvet replied as she jogged up to the group who continued to the main tent. As they left DJ sighed as he rubbed his temple and mulberry noticed this.
"You good old timer?"Mulberry joked
DJ snorted and spit on the ground"Hey your older than me….though tough what happened to their leader. "DJ said as he took a rag cleaning a axe.
"Really you knew the kid or something?"Mulberry asked as he sharpened a short sword in his hand. With each scrap a spark flew off.
"They helped my business out so I owed them. But during the fall he…asked for weapons to make a last stand. Guess the kid went and killed himself"DJ replied a little down.
Mulberry sighed putting a hand on his shoulder covering it completely"hey things happen for a reason. Come on we gotta get all this stuff done."mulberry said as they continued to do maintenance on the weapons with them.
The group contined to make their way through the camp until they finally made it too a large tent near the center of the camp. They went inside and their were four people discussing some things around a map of vale.
One was Nezumi Decker second in command along with Faba Adel. But next to them were two people they never seen before.
One was a women who in a swat police uniform. Her hair was lilac style medium length. and her skin complexion was pale. She had freckles on her faces and her eyes were light brown. She wore a navy blue long sleeve had a vale city police patch on her right arm. But she wore a black tactial vest with dust caritages and ammo clips. She had a big bust to her it seems. She wore some black combat pants with a revovler holstered on her side. She had on a wedding ring on her right hand. In her right ear was an ear piece.
The second was a man who wore a pair of workers coveralls and it was a mechanics jumpsuit. The jumpsuit was colore green with a wrench on the right breast pocket. He had blonde hair and his eyes were dark purple. He had an athletic build to him and he wore a pair of workers boot colored brown.
"Look were running low on supplies if we don't clear the shortage shed they took four days ago. We won't be able to fly out any more supplies."the man said
"Paul I understand that but we need to send a squad to that broadcast we picked up last week. If their are people trapped somewhere they need help"the women said
The man known as Paul groaned as he rubbed his eyes for a bit.
"Look Tulip, I understand that broadcast is important. But we can't be in two places at once…we need that supplies in case another attack happen"paul said with importnace.
Nezumi sighed as she looked at the map of vale and pointed at the police department.
"Their also that bastard hassan taking the police department. We'll also need to take that back since its his main base of operations"Nezumi said as Glynda cleared her throat to get their attention. The four looked up at her waiting to see what she needs.
"Yes glynda what is it?"the spider faunus asked
"I brought some students from vacou to assist us, some of which are from Vale"glynda said motioning for the students to come in. They soon piled in and faba had the biggest grin on his face.
"Ah my favorite grandaughter come give your great uncle a hug"Faba said offering a hug. Coco rolled her eyes and walked over returning the gesture to the old dog.
"Great to see you too"coco said as he let go and she returned to the group.
"Hmm surprising to see a bunch of students come here. Are you sure its safe for them to be here?"tulip asked looking at the students.
Before glynda said anything some of the students spoke up for themselves.
"Hey we volunteered to help our school, its our choice to be here"Cardin said
"Yeah and don't worry we can handle ourselves. Your guys are here to make us look good"Coco added moving her shades down a little.
"Plus were here to show these beacon brats how shade gets things down"gwen added with the beacon students looking at her glaring. Gwen rolled her eyes smiling giving a little wave.
"Hmm alright though I see your here again Vance….I thought I told you to stay with fenix"nezumi said looking at the lynx.
"It aint your decision what I do, i'm visiting him then helping you with your mission. Plus I need to get something for Neo and Lazuli"Vance replied annoyed.
Nezumi shook her head and turned her attention back to their objective. She then picked up some knives from the table. She then looked at the students and at each of their objectives.
"Alright heres your missions, here is our suppile shed"nezumi said stabbing a spot near the harbor district.
"Whats so important over their?"dew questioned crosisng her arms.
"Well all our supplies are their we didn't have enough in the camp for them. So we store them in a building not too far from here. But about four days ago some guys with guns along with grimm took the place. Killed all my guys their. "Paul replied
"And you want some of to head their and take it back?"Earl added with Paul nodding.
Then nezumi stabbed another spot that was a little close in between the market district and residential district. Vance lifted his eye a little on that spot.
"Then theirs here we intercepted a radio message around here a week ago. Here take a listen"Tulip said producing her scroll. She pressed play as a recording played.
"Hello…hello, if anyone….is hearing this…were in a sewer system. We….need help…we have injured…"static"…along with rescue…"Static" …twenty of us–"the message played as static was in between it soon cutting out. The voice on the other end sounded like a male voice it seems.
"Wait their are actually people in the city still how?"Nebula questioned baffled at the recording.
"Don't know but seems their in deep trouble. They got injured and we've been trying to get their for days. But we've been unable to we don't know where their at."Tulip said.
Vance then pushed past everyone looking at where the map was. Then he traced his figner to a set of warehouse he knew too well. He sighed as he needed to head their anyway and spoke up.
"I know whos there…some people my dad helped hide. They wanted to provide support to the city and protect some of the civilians during the attack. Seems they made it but the problem is their only two ways to the place"vance begun.
"Really from were?"may asked as she studied the map with him.
Vance pointed to the warehouse and another spot on the map that lead out near the harbor where they are at.
"The one here is a hatch and tunnel system that leads there. Then here in another entrance that leads out of the city. They should have used it, something must have happened to the control panel to control the gate"vance said.
"Okay we take the one near the harbor to get their how long would it take us?"tulip asked
Vance rubbed his head as he tried to recall how long it would take. The tunnel system might be infested with grimm for all they know. But it could also be a safe way to traverse the city.
"On foot about five or four hours depends if their grimm are their."vance replied
"Then their our final target here"nezumi said stabbing a spot where the police station was.
"Hassan managed to take over the police station and he's been sending two of those grimm knights of his out to make trouble for us."Nezumi said as Gwen and Mays ears perked up a little. Gwen clenched her prosthetic hand while May narrowed her one eye at the fuanus.
"Which two?"may questioned with hate in her tone.
"Well one of them was the one sighted during the attack. Subject alpha it seems from what he heard. While the other one is strange, several of our huntsman and huntresses claim to known him."faba replied
"What do you mean by that was he a friend of theirs"ophelia questioned.
"Seem so one Diego taupe, a sabertooh faunus who died about eight years back. Bastards a tough one, hes got a pack of sabyrs following him at all times it seems."nezumi added showing some pictures to the kids on her scroll.
It showed a picture of this sabyr grimm and diego. They looked at them and both looked pretty similar to one another. Except for the missing fang in his mouth. Along with some picture of conri stalking the city. He seemed to be searching for something.
"So wait they brought back a guy from the dead….jeez what else can they cook up"Earl added annoyed a little.
"Maybe…though that does beg the question how exactly they got the guy"Dew added a little the guy was presumed dead how is he still around today.
"By my guess, probably scoop him up after capturing or killing him. " Faba replied as he leaned against the table.
Octavia was looking at some of the pictures they showed them. Especially the one of that thing that took her teammates arm. He looks to be searching for something. Which would mean hes hunting down someone or looking for something.
"Hmm this guy seems to be hunting something?"octavia pointed out with Tulip nodding.
"One of my men returned to me about a couple days ago…barely alive. He passed away after delvieing some information. Apparently that thing is hunting down someone"tulip replied
"Who would they be looking for?"velvet questioned titling her head.
"That what we don't know…though their important it seems. "Nezumi replied
"Besides that we need you all to split up to deal with these two task. One is dealing with the surviors the other is taking back our supplies."faba said
Everyone looked at each other wondering who will go where to help with taking back the city. Their was getting supplies they desperately needed along with rescuing civilians in the city. Then vance stepped up to volunteer it seems as he raised his hand.
"I'll go with whoever heading out for the suppiles. "Vance said
"Why not go with the people going after the survivors"tulip questioned.
Vance groaned at this"I don't know those tunnels really well. But if I recall Lazuli friend their might know them"vance said gesturing toward yumi.
The panda faunus stepped up for the group to go to the survivors trapped.
"Yeah I do me and lazuli did a supply run for them once along with Falk. I can also probably fix the control panel their to make it easier for us to leave"yumi said.
"Alright we go to vance to secure the supplies and go to yumi for the survivors."nezumi ordered
The students soon went to their own spots to go with certain people. For vance group it consisted of Dew,Octavia, Earl, Ophelia, the other group consisted of Cardin, Velvet, Nebula, May,Naca,coco.
"Alright you all know your task. But i'll be sending a small sqaud of soidler with each of you. Raider and hitman come on in"nezumi said to the confusion to the students.
Then two men entered the tent with their hands behind their backs. One had a large sniper on their back the other had an assault rifle to his side.
"Ma'am what are your order"Liam asked
"Yeah let me guess providing ground work for your ships. Childs play"leon asked as he twirled a dust bullet through his figners.
May went a little wide eye at that"that was you that hit that shot"May said surprised and impressed it seems.
Leon looked toward the young sniper and relzied she was a fellow sniper. He could tell by the sniper rifle on her back.
"Hmm seems you know your way around a rifle…yes that was me. Names leon kid remember it"leon replied with May nodding. The sniper seemed impressed that guy managed to clip the griffiion in the air early. That shot may have taken her a while to line up.
"Alright you two quit compimneting each other before we have a sniper match or something"Faba joked laughing a little.
Nezumi looked at the two and looked at each of the group. She thought these two would be best for the group. But who should go where. Leon probably should go with them to the supply depot. While Liam went for the survivors.
"Alright liam your to escort these students to this warehouse here"Nezumi said pointing it on the map while pointing to yumi group and Liam nodded.
"Leon your to escort their group to take back our suppiles from their crimson talon bastard"Nezumi said pointing to vance group and he nodded.
"Ok if everyone udnerstands their missions, I suggest you stock up on gear before you leave. Along with an extra food before you head out"Glynda suggested.
The group then left leaving the Nezumi,Faba, Paul,Tulip and glynda their.
Nezumi sighed as she sat down rubbing her head. She picked up a cup and drank from it. It had some steam coming off it suggesting coffee or tea.
As nezumi took a drink she seemed a little bit more relax.
"You know I still think it's wrong to get kids involved in this"Paul added with concern
Glynda closed her eyes for a second to think, then she looks at the grease monkey with a serious expression.
"I understand your worry, but we need all the help we can get. Some of the people here barely know what Vale is like and some of the students have lived here for a while. "Glynda started as tulip decided to speak.
"Look I understand that but…we can't lose anymore kids. That day during the fall so many of them died. "Tulip said as she sat down rubbing her eyes.
"Yeah….most parents blame us for not making sure their kids come back alive. But sometime you get used to people blaming you for stuff"the old man added knowingly.
"Besides that we'll make sure they return home safely. I'm not having anymore students die here today"Glynda said as they continued to discuss a few things.
Outside most of the students split up to do their own thing. But Port guided Cardin,Velvet,Coco and vance toward a small tent. Inside the tent their seemed to be several items around the place.
Bins containing necklaces, earring, pictures, scroll and many other accessories. Which was strange but some of them already guessed what this place was. Where they find thing certain people cherished or identified them in a certain way.
A few people where in their as clanking and the shifting of boxes could be heard. Port walked to a older women as the two began to talk while the other four sat their waiting.
"I wonder what he exactly meant he found something for us"Cardin thought to himself
"Probably someone who died obviously meat head"Vance said out loud to the boy.
The three looked at the lynx wondering why he would say that all of a sudden. Cardin then looked at him wondering how he knew what exactly he was saying.
"Hey how'd you know what I was thinking?"cardin questioned.
"My semblance is mind related….thats all your getting"Vance replied as he turned from them.
Coco rubbed her head as she leaned against the wooden counter.
"Come on man….Cardin said he was sorry."coco added as vance stared at her glaring. Before the conversation continued port presented a small box to the group. It was silver in color and they looked at each other.
"What's in the box?"velvet questioned.
Port sighed with a sadden expression as he undid the lid on the box. Then he pulled out few items from the box. One being a picture and another being a bracelet, along with a few syringes. But the bracelet looked advance with a small guage on it
Although the picture was familiar to the group. Their in front of them was the bloodstained picture of team ZERO. The blood covered the edges of the picture and it slightly covered the people faces in the picture.
"Oh….where did you find this?"velvet replied very sad seeing that picture.
Port narrowed his gaze as he pulled a wooden chair to sit down. "A few days ago, the picture in the market district stuck in some cracks, with the bracelet close by. While these were found around the city along with this"Port said presenting the bracelet and syringes.
"What are they….some drugs and a fashion accessorie"Coco added looking at them.
"I think their zanes, I remember Ozpin giving him that after we went looking for Colts gym. Though those syringes are used to keep his semblance under check"Cardin answered as he picked up one examining it.
Vance looked at it with a small gleam of hope in his eyes it seems, with velvet having it as well.
"Wait does that mean you…"Vance begun but Port shook his head toward the lynx. The lynx sighed again as he picked up some of the syringes. He then pocketed five of them for some reason leaving one left. Then he left the group as they watched him walk off.
"Oh its nice that you found that I guess"velvet said rubbing her ears
"Alright why did you wanna show us this?"Coco questioned.
Port stood their for a moment putting his hands together. Then he stared at the group with a serious expression.
"Well from what me and glynda know. Whoever made these syringes seems to weaken the grimm knight. How do you think qrow dispatched the nevermore knight"Port replied
"Wait so these can kill them"Cardin asked with port shaking his head. Which didn't bod well because it would make dealing with them easier.
"No, temporarily stun them, although it may be hard. Though you should all get prepared for your missions. Good luck to all of you"Port said as he went off to do something else for the time being.
Near the armory Liam and Leon were busy grabbing some gear with some other men. Most of which seemed comprised of vale city police, atlas and despardos. Liam grabbed a couple clips as he put them in his pouches.
Leon aimed down his silenced pistol and closed one eye. Then he put it in his holster as he took off his shades rubbing his eyes.
"So were both stuck babysitting a bunch of kids great"Liam said a little annoyed.
Their trained soldier and mercnarys, not babysitters. They shouldn't even be here they've been doing just fine with what their doing.
"Oh come on Liam I thought you be fine with it. You never question her orders"a female voice said behind him.
Their behind the counter was a racoon faunus smirking at him. It was sandra in her usually combat outfit staring at him.
Liam rolled his eyes as he started to load his pack with necessary supplies. He put some extra ammo in, dust caritages, small meals, flashlight, medkits and many other things.
"Sorry…just seems a little dangerous. Though have you heard from dylan latly?"Liam asked
The two looked at each other then back at him. Sandra shook her head side to side telling him no. While leon shrugged his shoulders as he continued checking his sniper rifle. It had a large muzzle on it and the barrel was medium in length. It had a small clip underneath it and it looked like a barett fifty cal.
"Nope…didn't he and a few others go toward the police station. What were they doing again…recon"Sandra asked as her tail swayed.
"Yes, although that was five days ago. He's either dead or they captured him."Leon suggested the worse it seems. The three continued to pack their stuff up for their missions.
Meanwhile Neubula,Gwen and Dew were near the entrance waiting for everyone. Octavia went to grab more dust just incase. The three girls just talked about some of the stuff their probably going to do after their done here.
"So after this little errand what are you doing back home?"Gwen asked as she opened up a slot on her prosetehtic. She then loaded a few of her knives in their. The clicked into place as a row of them were seen under a hatch that closed.
Dew had her spear around her shoulder thinking as she swayed her hips back and forth.
"Maybe relax….go check on my family. Though you two are probably going on a date or something"Dew replied
Nebula laughed a little at her, the girl was right but they were doing other thing as well. She kind of wanted to maybe check on nolan. She was friends with him and Roy when they were little. Right now the guy isn't doing really well mentally right now it seems.
"Hmm well since were here I might as wel get some payback"gwen said flexing her mechanical arm staring at it.
Nebula put a hand on Gwen shoulder looking at her concern"Gwen don't risk fighting that thing again. I don't want to lose you…same goes for you Dew along with octavia. You three watch each others back"Nebula said
"Don't worry i'll make sure these two don't get in trouble"octavia said joining the group along with Naca close behind. She was chewing on something as she blew a bubble. It popped and it was blue in color.
"I know you will though why are you even here Naca. I know your visiting someone in vacou…but what exactly are you looking for here"Nebula questioned the triple colored girl.
Naca looked at her staring at her as she looked from side to side.
"Don't worry about just wanna see if a huntresses I know is in town."Naca replied but it seemed like she was hiding something. Nebula could't put her finger on it but soon enough everyone joined them.
The group gathered as they all got into their groups. Along with a few officers, soldier accompanying them it seems. Liam gave a thumbs up to the man ontop of the gate. He nodded as he pressed a button.
Soon enough the hologram like gate started to flicker as it shut off. Then the two groups split off heading to their objectives. Then the man turned the gate back on. They were no heading into a destroyed city hoping to complete their objectives.
The group now split up to solve their own goals and objectives in this city. But with the grimm knights romaing around with the sabyr grimm knight being introduced, my own oc' seems each group have their own missions to complete. Tulip and Paul are my oc's. thanks for reading
