During the Break I will be coming the story I took a couples weeks off after nanowrimo and I'm going on writing mood like I say when I started this story I only Have 14 chapters before hand I want 20 chapters by the end of the year well this something I'm in the mood. Chapter 5 : Pureblood School

The Malfoy Family's New Family Member

Yesterday, Mrs. Narcissa Malfoy and Draco Malfoy, the future heir of the Malfoy family, were shopping with the now orphaned Hermione Davenfort-Granger. She was spotted shopping in a nice dress picked out by Narcissa Malfoy, all matching with some royal blue. The Prophet noticed that Miss Davenfort-Granger was also wearing the famous female heir bracelet on her arm. She seems to have been adopted by the Malfoy family and appears to be enjoying her time. I hope the Malfoy family will show her off more before her year starts at Hogwarts. If Miss Hermione Davenfort-Granger is reading this, we welcome you to the wizarding world of Britain and we hope you enjoy your stay.

Hermione was reading the Prophet and noticed that they had put her almost on the front page, but the picture of Narcissa, Draco, and her was looking good. She was happy today since they would meet their tutor and she would need to have a test about her knowledge that she has so far. Narcissa told her not to worry about the magical stuff; they just wanted to evaluate her on the basics like writing, math, and other subjects. That morning, she was studying and also reading a lot. Draco brought her to the Quidditch pitch; he was able to explain to her that it was a sport in the wizarding world. He was on his broom flying and invited her to try, but she was not feeling it yet. She said she wanted to have an adult with her the first time she does it. So she only watched him fly while she was reading a book called "The Basics of Magic."

"Bye, Draco," she saw Millie and said, "Would you like to try some magic after?" He landed, and then she turned back. "Yes, I just need to pass that test, and then we could start magical training soon," she smiled and then walked with Millie to the Education wing.

"Hello, Miss Davenfort-Granger, I'm Mrs. Desroiser, your French tutor. Please take a seat at the table and start the test. You have an hour to finish, and after that, you will meet the other tutors," she nodded and looked at the parchment and the quill. She started to write with those about a week and a half ago, and she was still getting used to it, but Narcissa gave her an ink-filled quill that was easier for her since they have a pen tip.

She started the quiz, and it was so simple. They thought she was bad in French, but this was a language that was almost fully understood since her grandmother was French. The tutor saw her, and after 20 minutes, she was already fully done with the French test. "Merci, je peux avoir le prochain professeur?" she asked Madame Desroiser. "Bien sûr, Mr. Dubois could come. Miss Hermione just finished my test." With a thick French accent, she talked, and a man showed up, and Madame Desroiser was gone. "Hello, Miss Davenfort-Granger. I am Mr. Dubois, magical mathematics tutor. You will also have an hour to finish this quiz."

She took 20 minutes for that test. She also met Mrs. Smith, the English and Latin teacher, who gave Hermione the same amount of time for the quiz. She also met the magical professor for Charms and Transformation, Mr. James, the Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Cook, and the History of Magic and Herbology professor, Desjardins.

She was happy to have met all the tutors, besides her Etiquette Tutor, who was Narcissa, and the Dance Teacher, who was someone that was not here since, according to Narcissa, was still in America for the summer.

During that time, it was great for Hermione to learn what she will mostly learn at Hogwarts.

After her 3 hours of quizzes and presentations, the tutors left, and she joined Draco in the magical classroom with his father. "Good afternoon, Lucius. I've been told you want me and Draco to practice basic magic," she said when she entered, and one of the wands that was ordered to be used for underage students was placed. They had a selection to see which core is better for her, so that's why an adult needed to be there in case of an accident. "Draco, since you're also closer to your age, you will also have to pick a core." They both looked at what Olivander had picked. They both had a selection according to past generations. "You have both a target you could do anything to it. I will be behind a protective charm, and you both need to see which core is suited for you since it will be the wand you will use for school," Lucius said, and then Draco and Hermione nodded.

Draco took one that was black wood and pointed to the dummy, and it felt bizarre holding this core. Hermione looked at him and took one, pointing at it. "This feels weak," she said, and then they took more and more wands until a white light was on the correct core. Lucius looked at the both of them. "Unicorn Hair Core for Draco and Hermione Dragon Heartstring core. Both powerful cores. You will be able to use it with your tutor and sparingly in the house. No training wand outside the house," he looked at the both of them and then smiled. "I also brought you both a gift to celebrate this milestone." He looked at Hermione and gave her a small box. "There are also 2 gifts in the box. One is for welcoming you to the family." She opened the box, and 2 beautiful charms were inside, a heart for the new family and a magical wand for the other. "Thank you, Lucius," she said and gave him a little hug.

Draco also opened the box, and a watch was inside of it. "This is also an heirloom of the family, Draco. It's a watch when a wizard. This is also a way to show the world that you're the future heir of Malfoy," he smiled and shook his father's hand. "So, children, I think Narcissa wants us to get ready for dinner," he said, and then the elf came to bring them to their quarters to change. During the class, Narcissa said that a family would be visiting them for dinner, and she forgot the name. "Draco, before we go change, what family are we hosting tonight?" She looked at him. "The Greengrass. I know both the girls that are around our age, Daphne and Astoria, so I think Mother is trying to get us to know more Scared 28 and also in a way finding me a wife for an engagement. The Greengrass is trying to marry into this family since I was born, so don't be surprised if that comes up during the talk tonight," he continued walking. "Do you think your father will try to get me to have a betrothal arrangement like the Greengrass is doing to you?"

He stopped, and she almost hit him by the way he turned to her. "Father and Mother will never do something we don't like. The adults could talk all they want. Mother and Father want me to marry for love, not for power. I assume it will be the same for you since you're part of the family now," she smiled and then said, "Thank you for telling me this. Anything else before we get changed?" She looked him in the eyes. "The sisters are quite annoying, and Daphne made me her boyfriend, so if you could help me with that, I will be really happy," he said with soft eyes to her. "Sure, I could help, but I'm afraid they will think I'm boring. I like to read and play with you, but I never really played with females when I was in the Muggle world, so this is something new for me. Most friends I had when I was living in London, going to my private school, had boys. I was the only girl in my neighborhood, so I'm a bit afraid about that," she said, then he looked at her. "In the wizard world, when it comes to Scared 28, which we are a part of, most of the friendship is political or for gain, so don't worry. You'll be just fine," he looked at his door, and Millie brought her to her room so the children could change.

Both the children that Narcissa and Lucius were getting ready for a time with another family. Narcissa didn't really want to see Lady Greengrass, but because of the Prophet article, the family took the chance to get them to talk so they put in the letter to have a chance to meet Hermione Davenfort-Granger and so the girls could be friends. Narcissa didn't want to trouble Hermione too much, but also Parkinson had invited them to tea. Pansy and the marriage proposal was coming right and left. But Lucius and her talked about this, and they would do the same as they did for Draco to make sure that they married for love, not for power. Anyway, Hermione and Draco are the top 1 and 2 richest families in the wizarding world, so she understands that most of them wanted them for the power and the money. Lucius was happy to make sure that both the accounts were secured for Draco and Hermione.

The vow that was for taking care of the Davenfort-Grangers, the last one that had the power to make the world a better place, and Hermione was one rare gem. Narcissa had a plan she wanted to talk about it to Lucius at the moment. Since Draco mostly said no to most of the Scared 28, maybe having Hermione be betrothed to Draco while they are in school would be helping them to find their true love.

When Lucius came to the parlor and she was still in her thoughts, "Narcissa dear, are you lost in your thoughts?" she looked at him and then said, "I have an idea that I want to talk with you about, but we should talk about it after the Greengrass come." He looked at her and then told her about the core that the wand chose and then he told her about Hermione hugging him after the charms for her family bracele

Hermione was the first down to the parlor and she smiled, "Hello, Lucius and Narcissa, are our guests on their way?" she looked at the married couple

, we could call you when they come over," she nodded and walked toward the library, and Draco came down and said his greeting. She took a selection of breakfast items and then sat down. "Narcissa and I talked last night, and with the Greengrass and other Scared 28 trying to get you both stuck in a contract, me and Narcissa have an idea that we want to talk to you both about." The children looked at him. "We did say that we will let you pick for love, but this society won't accept it until a contract is written, so we thought we could make you have a fake contract that is that since we have you, Hermione, that your family years ago made arrangements that if a female witch was born, she will have a contract with the Malfoy family to marry. The only way to break the contract is if someone married for love." Then both of the children looked at them and thought about it for a minute.

Draco explained that what his parents wanted anyway, having that contract would also have them protected, and they wouldn't have to marry. She thought that was a great idea, but she didn't know if Draco would approve.

Draco thought this would be a way to escape the Greengrass and Pansy. He was happy that his parents thought of this and then Hermione nodded because she seemed happy with the idea by the look of it. The both of them looked at his parents. "It's a great idea, Mother and Father," he said, and then Hermione nodded.

"After what happened with the Greengrass, I think it's a great idea too," Hermione said. Then Lucius stood up. "That is great. I thought this would be great protection. Well, I'm late for the Ministry. I wish you all a good day." He kissed his wife and then left for Gringotts.

"Thank you both. That is also helping Lucius and I greatly," and the children nodded and started to eat their breakfast. "Mother, do you know when the professor will be arriving?" Draco was about to take a bite when his mother said, "I asked him to be here around 10 am. I wanted you children to read a bit before the class starts. I have asked Flourish and Blotts to send some books for you to read before." As Narcissa said this, an owl flew to her. "That must be the books that I ordered," she opened the parcel, and it was.

"You both eat, then read," she said, and Hermione looked at the book with envy. "Hermione, you could read after you finish eating, dear," she nodded and ate so she could start to learn more knowledge.

Hermione knew that the time was good, so when she finished, she took a copy beside Narcissa, and she went down to the magical classroom to start using some of the spells. Draco joined her around 10 minutes after she used a couple of spells inside the book. "So, are you okay with what Mother and Father said?" He asked, also learning the wand gesture. "Yes, in a way, it helps us to not have a prior engagement. Also, it gives me and you a chance to find someone if we don't want to. But at the moment, I want to focus on my learning and magic."

She had a point for that. Honestly, he met all the purebloods in the Scared 28 that were female, and they all seemed boring. Having her to be his choice at the moment and looking into the future did help. Knowing for a fact that this would be more nice to actually find his love. He didn't know if he would have someone, but Father and Mother did a good job thinking of that. They spent most of the morning until the professor showed up for the spell.

"Hello, Miss Hermione and Mister Draco. I'm Professor Yuzumi. I'm here to teach you about the basics of magic and spells that are useful." The professor looked at the two future students of Hogwarts. "Your family has asked you to get started on spells, since this year, Mister Draco and you, Miss Hermione, are both allowed to have wands with cores that you will be bonded to when you get your own wand. Till then, you've been just allowed to use pre-approved Ministry wands for training, and believe me, these are horrible," he said, and Hermione and Draco nodded.

"I would like to see how both of you are in spell casting, so I have prepared a class with all the stuff so we could see what you both need in this class," he said, and Hermione and Draco followed him to the other classroom that the manor had. "When you both are ready, I want to see all 11 stations that I have created with done. You have 30 minutes to finish these stations," the students nodded and then started.

Most of the spells were basic spells like light, Accio, and more complex ones like levitation and also wand gestures. Professor Yuzumi put some music for them to do all the stations. After the hour, they looked so tired. This was a lot for their magical core that was still developing, and honestly, they needed to take a break. "That was wonderful. I know where we need to work for the both of you, but now you must feel drained," the students nodded. "I asked your elf to go for lunch, and we will see each other in 2 hours' time for your core to get some rest." The children left and walked toward the dining table.

"This was fun. I don't like the feeling of being drained," Draco said, but she was also feeling the same. "I will say the same thing, but I need food. Now I understand why the Ministry limits our magic until we're 11 years old. Magical core still growing," she said, then took the tomato soup and grilled cheese that was served. "Yes, I agree," Draco did the same and started to eat and relax. They almost needed a nap after this, but the food did help with some of the energy, but this was a great feeling.

Magic was great, and they had their first taste of it. After their lunch, they went to the library, and Draco and Hermione were sitting near each other, reading the spell book that Narcissa ordered for them.

When the elf came to tell them it was time to go back to class, they found Hermione sleeping on Draco's shoulder, and Draco sleeping. The elf found the teacher and then came to the classroom. "Professor, sorry, but Millie went to get the children. They are asleep," the professor laughed. "It always happens. Give this to Miss and Mister. That's their homework. Tell them I will see them in the morning." The elf smiled and then left the professor to do his stuff.
