Chapter 5 teal: Runway Rogue

Soon enough eria found herself in a snowy like forest again just like before she woke up in the hospital. She walked around catiosuly rembering what happened like last time. That she lost her leg in the dream because of rosemary and pyrrha was their.

As she walked for a bit of time as her feet crunched in the snow below her. She looked at herself relziing she was wearing a ballerina outfit that was teal colored. Right now she was very confused right now.

"Why am I…why do i have this on?"She said to herself

Then she looked up looking to see what was infront of her. Infront of her was a giant frozen lake with a figure skatign along it. Eria began walking down a small hill toward the figure carefully making sure she won't fall. As she walked toward the figure she looked in surprise who was their.

It was her in the same outfit but a little younger it seems. The dream eria skated over to her older self as she skitted to a stop infront of her.

The younger eria titled her head"are you gonna dance?"she simply asked

Eria was a little caught off guard by that because she stopped dancing when her and rogue decided to become huntresses. Though this has to be a dream right now, because she for one she has both her legs right now.

"Why…why are you asking me to dance?"she asked confused

The younger her skated around her as eria immediately found herself in the middle of the ice leg as her younger self looked at her. She kept skating around her in a circle staring at her the entire time.

"Because isn't that what you like to do when you had both your legs?"She asked

Immediately eria fell to the ground flat on her back as she shut her eyes from the impact. Then she immediately felt light where her right leg was. She took a few small breath already expecting what she was going to see down their. Once she opened them she saw her right leg slumped over.

It looked paler than usually along with a small pool of blood forming underneath it. She began to freak out as she looked at the younger her skating around her.

"I..I…I don't deserve it..i was too slow to save pyrrha and zane died looking for me"eria argued as her younger self made the circle smaller.

"Are you sure thats what you want?"the younger eria knowingly asked her

Eria visible flinched a little at this because she was right. But she knew she didn' deserve that prosethetic leg her father made her. She just needed more time before she would use it is all. Though the younger her kept looking at her before an icy stare was given to her.

The younger her came to a stop as she chipped a small icy mist up. Then she walked slowly toward eria who looked in fear. Soon enough the younger her disappeared as all that was left was an icy statue of her.

Before she could question what was going on she could hear something cracking. She looked around at the ice circle around her seeing their were three rings around it. Then before she knew it the ice gave from underneath her. She then began to slowly go under the water trying to reach for the surface. But she tried to kick with one leg as she slowly lost vision. As she lost vision she looked up seeing her with both legs their giving her a cold stare

Immediately Eria woke up in a cold sweat panting like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. She placed her hand on her chest as she began to slwoly compose herself. She took a deep breath in and out a few times.

As she did she looked around the room and noticed rogue wasn't in the room.

"Guess she woke up before me"eria said to herself as she threw her sheet off. As she did she glanced at her missing right leg sighing.

"Stupid nightmares"she muttered to herself as she gently moved herself into her wheelchair.

She successfully got in as she elft her room with some struggle but she got it open. Then as she came to the stairs she kinda needed help brining her chair down. The frozen girl slowly removed herself from her chair as she used the railing for support on the way down.

As she walked down she could hear sobbing coming from downstairs which worried her. Along with a few other voices too which surprised her.

"Ma'am are you sure she didn't just leave early in the morning or something?" a male voice asked

"Yes. she and those two could have gone out to do something"a female voice suggested

Eria could hear her mother next"then why would she leave a dam note saying she was leaving!"she cried as she cotninued to sob.

Eria looked worried right now wondering if they meant rogue. She kept moving herself down the stairs and eventually got to the bottom of them. Their in the living room and dinning room was her mother and father. Along with a few argus police officers. Their was also weiss and thetis their with peruns family.

Perun looked over to see eria on the stairs as she looked confused what was going on.

"Umm is everything alright?"she questioned as everyone looked at her. Jaki had an anger look on his face as he held a red envelope in his hand. She rarely seen him mad and it meant something bad happened.

"No…um eria why don't you sit down"perun said as he walked over helping her down the stairs. He walked her over to a couch as she took a seat confsued. She looked at everyone with disheartened looks on their faces.

"Did…something happen. Where rogue? Mercury and emerald?"she asked

Jaki growled in anger"those two and your sister decided to leave"jaki answered in anger to her surprise what he meant by that.

"Leave? What do you mean by that?"eria questioned again

Weiss looked down sadden by this sighing"umm we just got here because we heard the police were here"she started looking down.

"But…your sister ran away"weiss finished as eria went wide eyed by the mention of that.

"Why..why would she run away?"eria asked surrpsied with a shocked expression

Calida was covering her eyes as she wept right now wondering where her other daughter ran off to. While jaki was fumming that scoundrel of his daughter boyfriend convinced her to run away. Melody was sitting on the couch a little confused by this.

"Mom why did she run away?"she innocently asked

Tempstas thought for how she was going to answer her daughter question.

"i..I don't know sweetie just stay quiet right now okay"she replied as melody nodded in agreement.

Apollo was rubbing his head"jaki man when you called saying she ran away i thought she went back into the woods"he said getting eria attention

"What..what are you talking about?"she asked as apollo went wide eyed. The man sleintly cursed to himself at what he just did.

Calida sniffed walking over taking a spot next to her daughter on the couch. Eria looked very confused right now wondering what was going on right now.

"Sweetie…rogue was in the hospital because…she went into the woods to fight some grimm. She…she almost died"calida said as eria face drained looking even paler than before.

"Your…your lying right?"she asked

Weiss shook her head"no me, emerald and mercury saved her from a manticore before it finished her off. But..we don;t know where they went"weiss said

Jaki was seething in rage still trying to keep his composer as he moved around an envelope in his hands frantically.

"That idiot daughter of mine leave a dam letter saying shes leaving to go after someone. I swear when i find her shes going to be in a heep of trouble"he stated

This made eria raise an eyebrow at how she left a letter. Along with that she went after someone, who could she have gone after. As she thought for who she meant she immediately knew who he meant. Team BRAS.

"Umm…what did the letter say?"eria hesitnalty asked

Jaki looked at her with a somber expression as he walked over with the letter in hand. He then placed it in her hand as eria picked it up. It was a red envelope torn open but to had"to mom, dad and sis"on it in black lettering.

Eria then noticed a piece of paper inside it as she pulled it out beginning to read the letter

"Dear mom, dad and sis. I'm leaving you this letter because i need to go do something. Me, emerald and mercury have discussed it for a while now. I know your going to hate what i'm going to say and that i'm leaving. But i'm going after the bastards who took my friends away. Team BRAS needs to pay for what they took from me and several others. For mercury and emerald it was Cinder, someone they looked up to. For Perun his best friend Tanner including mine. Then their my partner Zane who killed himself thinking he was a monster after being used by them. Next its someone i looked up to as a sister who i lost as well that being pyrrha nikos. Finally i'm getting payback against that bitch rosemary for taking my sister leg. Don't come stop me, i'm sorry. from rogue"the letter said

Eria went wide eyed at reading this letter out because it was talking about why she ran away. She understood she was upset about their friend death. But to go on a full blown revenge quest after their killers. It wasn't right and the last part stuck out to her.

Soon enough tears immediately began to fall onto the paper as eria just dropped it too the ground. She immedaitly hugged her self hanging her head down at reading that. Perun noticed her crying as he walked over doing his best to comfort her right now. As she did she couldn't believe her own sister ran away to murder someone

Hours later around the afternoon the hayley household was quiet right now. Jaki went to the police station with apollo to see what they can do to track his daughter down. While right now Eria just sat still processing all this.

"I..don't understand…why would she..why?"eria asked herself

"Don't got a clue for you, though when do you think she left"neptune asked as he heard what happened and immediately rushed over.

Calida sniffed rubbing her eyes"who knows. All i know my little girl ran off to go kill someone"she cried as thetis was doing her best to comfort her right now,

"Look i'm sure she didn't get far. If she took the argus limit train they could stop her"she reassured

"Yes, but who exactly is team BRAS?"tempstas asked trying to recall who they were because she heard of them before

Perun growled in anger"they were the one we faced in the doubles round. That…chick rosemary cut off my partner arm"perun said as she looked in shock.

"That girl with the big scissors"orchie asked as eria immedaitly flinched at her name letting out a small gasp.

They all looked at her as she began to shake a little, then she began to hick a little. Tear started to streaming down her face as she layed on her side turned away. Perun went wide eyed at this as she rushed over to check on her alongside weiss.

"Eria? Eria what wrong?"he asked worried

"Is she okay?"calida asked worried about her daughter

Weiss looked worried at this"i…i…she was the one who took her leg"weiss said

"What?"thetis asked surprised

"Wait she the one who did that too her oh man that messed up"neptune added shocked

Eria shivered a little shaking her head as she could hear that girl sickening laughter echo in her head. She thought she wasn't scared of her anymore but she was. Because she thought she would die that day.

"Okay but who extaclty are they?"slater asked as him and orchie heard what wanted to figure out what extactly happen to their friend.

"Yeah what they some guy who hated you at beacon or something?"orchie asked

Eria sniffed picking herself up shivering"team BRAS…they..they helped cause the fall"she said to some of their shock. Calida went wide eyed as her duaghter never mentioned this before. She just assumed the white fang did it along with some criminals.

"How do you know that?"tempstas asked

Weiss looked away sighing"their leader was the one who killed pyrrha were sure. Rosmeary was the one who took eria..leg"weiss started and looked sadden by saying that.

Neptune narrowed his gaze"let me guess that Scar guy was that madman son"he said their confusion right now.

"Who are you talking about?"calida questioned

Before he could answer a knock on the door could be heard. The group turned toward the door as a few more knocks could be heard right now. Then slater walked over as he opened the door surprised to see some people here.

"Uhh sup mr. hayley and crosby"slater greeted as the two fathers walked into the home. Jaki had an anger look on his face right now. Because imemdailty he walked into his workshop as he slammed the door shut. They all flicnhed a little at this as they looked at each other.

Calida sighed"don't bother him right now when he gets like that, he tinkers to relive his worries"calida said

"Just like rogue, though back to the topic from early"neptune reminded

Apollo looked confused a little"what were you all talking about before we got here?"he asked looking at the group. Because he noticed eria crying her eyes out on the couch as his son comforted her.

Perun sighed as he ruffled melody head as he looked at the time. Her performance was in fives hours and she needed to pratice right now. The lighting rocker took a deep breath as he composed himself.

"Umm dad it nothing look lets just talk about this another time guys"perun said

"Dude come on we gotta figure out why she–"slater begun but surpsignly weiss stopped him.

"Look…this is a very sensitive topic right now. The more some of you know, the more trouble it could bring"weiss said wisly.

Thetis nodded"shes right, but doesn't your daughter have a performance tonight if i recall"she reminded

Tempstas went wide eyed as she stood up rubbing her forehead forgetting that after the last few hours.

"I forgot…oh sweetie i'm sorry to do this to you but–"she started but calida stopped her.

"Its fine go, i can handle this your little girl has been praticing hard for her recital."she said as she walked over placing a hand on tempstas shoulder with a small smile.

"Just…go enjoy yourselfs tonight okay"she added as the crosby mother hesitatantly decided on what to do. But with a heavy heart she looked at calida nodding to her.

"Okay..come on sweet"tempstas said motioing for melody to come. The young pianist walked over grabbing her mothers hand as they walked out the door. Slater and orchie nodded in agreement to leave as well since they planned on going tonight.

Thetis stood up dusting herself off"i'll be going as well, i promised them i'd go to her performance a while back"thetis said

"That alright thetis, I just hope the police find her soon though"calida sadly replied

"I'm sure they will, she couldn't have gone far"thetis reassured as she was about to leave but stopped looking at weiss.

"Umm weiss dear, are you coming or staying?"she asked

The ice queen was a little cuaght off guard but thought for a moment for her answer. She wanted to stay for eria right now to see if she was alright. But she also wanted to go to the recital for tonight since it could help get her mind off things.

"I..I should stay to make up for her losing her le–"weiss started but perun stopped her by flicking her on the forehead.

The remainder of the group were surprsied he did this as was his father. Because he was a little nervous about being sued into oblivion for his son hitting the heiress to the SDC throne. Weiss was a little surprised by this rubbing the spot he flicked.

"Why did you–"She begun but he stopped her.

"Quit blaming yourself for her losing her leg alright. Seriously she told you, i told you heck everyone told you"perun stated

Neptune nodded"yeah quit beating yourself over it, things just…happen"he sadly added

Though weiss looked down with shame on her face as she sighed heavily at that. A big part of her blames herself for what happened to eria still.

Weiss sniffed as she rubbed her eyes hanging her head down"look…its just…i should have been faster…i owe it to her to help her right now"weiss replied

Calida smiled a little at this as she walked over to the young schnee. Then she pulled her into a tight embrace to her surprise as calida patted her back gently.

"Just go to ther performance tonight, enjoy yourself before you go back to that bastard of father of yours. I can handle this"she whispered making sure no one heard her.

This shocked weiss a little because the hayley mother did know about it, but it still scared her. She just hoped that it be her mother and siblings that come and take her home.

"Umm okay…but please let me know if you all need anything"Weiss said as calida nodded telling her yes. Soon enough the schnee heiress left with neptune and thetis to the recital tonight in five hours. While apollo was getting ready to leave he looked at his son still sitting close by to his girl.

Apollo smiled"let me guess you wanna stay with her to make sure shes oaky?"he asked knwoignly

Perun looked over nodding"yeah…sorry i want to make sure she okay before i leave for havan in a few days"he replied

"What about your sister she would be heart broken if you weren't their"calida reminded

Apollo shook his head chuckling"his sister will understand if we explain it to her later. "He started as he looked at his son smiling with an affirming nod.

"Be their for her right now son, well record the performance for you"apollo said as perun was a little surprised but nodded to him thanking him for that. Soon enough he closed the door behind him leaving the three by thesmelves as they tried their best to console eria right now with her small mental breakdown.

About five hours later across the town in the city of argus in a musical theatre hall. The building was two stories tall as it was structure like all the other building in argus. But a small line and crowd of people decorated the front entrance.

Inside the venue hall its what you expect any type of recital or performance to be. People waited paitnelty in their seats for someone to play. While their was a row above that gave the best view for the audience. But their were a few balcony in the place that were close to the stage.

Though backstage right now was melody with her mother as she waas psyching the girl up. Along with that was weiss who decided to come to the back to help her. Before they got here melody got a little nervous not relizing their be so many people here tonight.

"Relax my little musican you'll do great"tempstas excitly said

Melody nerovusly moved around fidgeting where she stood, she wore a black skirt with a black blouse for her. She had a hair pin in her hair of a musical note as she also wore black charater shoes.

"But..but..their too many people here…i'm scared"she replied nerovusly as she fidgeted around again

Neptune gave a reassuring smile"hey you'll do great your brother said you'll kill it tonight"he reassured

"What if i mess up…i'll be made fun of"melody replied sadly looking down.

Weiss soften her gaze as she was in that situation before. Her father made her pratice singing for charity events at a young age along with playing the piano. At first she was nervous everytime she performed for that man. Though she learned a small trick when she was younger for stage fright.

Weiss walked over kneeling to get to her eye level to give some advice.

"Melody, i've been in your shoes before"weiss started as melody interest was peak

"You..have?"she softly replied as weiss nodded as neptune and tempstas listened.

"Look i know your scared, but focus on what your playing. Don't listen to that voice in your head telling you'll do bad."weiss said as she looked toward the crowd of people in the theatre waitng then she looked back at melody.

"They came here to see you performance and your here to show them along with teching them something amazing. Just focus on the piece and pretend their not even here"weiss said as melody looked at her for a second.

Then she gave an affirming nod as she seemed a little more relax. Tempstas was surrpsied by this because it takes alot for her to relax. Though she was happy for the girls help on calming her daughter down for her. Along with the blue haired boy being impressed by it.

"Thank you"melody thanked as soon enough she had to wait to play her piece

Tempstas looked at weiss walking over patting her on the shoulder as weiss was a little surprsied by it but composed herself.

"Oh uh yes ?"Weiss replied

The women laughed at being called that"call me tempstas dear"she corrected as weiss gave an affirming nod.

"Okay uh tempstas…do you need something?"weiss replied

"No i wanted to thank you for that, my little girl gets so nervous when she performs sometimes. Her brother would come to give a small speech to her to psyche herself up"she replied

"Oh umm sorry about that"weiss apolized

"Uh for what exactly perun just looking out for his girl is all. "Neptune reminded

"He's right those two seem to care for one another, i'm sure melody understand. But.."she started as soon enough the lights were dimed to set the mood for the theatre. The three watched from a distance as a women walked on stage with a mircorphone to greet the audience.

She taped the microphone before speaking"Welcome everyone, tonight we have a special performance from one of our young students here. Today she'll be playing a the sound of silence tonight for us tonight."the stage speaker begun

Then melody walked over to the piano as she sat herself on the bench. The crowd clapped a little for her but she just gave a small wave. She begun to look for the piece she was going to play as the announcer continued

"Along with that, i thank you al for coming out tonight. And enjoy the show"the annocer said as she walked off to the otherside of she did the crowd got quiet as soon enough melody started to play the piano.

The mood changed a little as the tone of the music was sweet and slow at the same time. As she kept pressing down on each piano key shifting to different ones slowly or fast. Weiss watched it smiling a little remebring how her mother got her into playing piano.

Along with that winter did have a small interest in the piano as well. The two enjoyed playing it together when they were little. The ice queen listened to the beutiful piece as she placed her hands on her chest smiling a little. Melody seemed to be enjoying herself as she smiled as she cotninued to play.

But soon enough after about five minutes of playing the girl soon stop. Their was silence for a bit before the entire hall was filled with cheers and clapping for the young girl. Weiss began to clap for the young girl to. Tempstas smiled ear to ear seeing her daughter enjoying herself.

Soon enough melody got up from her seat then bowed to the crowd. The announcer came back as she gesutred for melody to head to the side.

"That was a beautiful perofmance tonight folk, we thank you all for coming. And have a wonderful night and day, we'll do another performance like this soon"she announced as melody rushed over to her mother with a bright smile on her face.

"Oh that was amazing sweetie you did fantastic"tempstas complemented

"Yeah that was great better than weiss at the vytal fance"neptune joked

They expected her to shoot back an insult but weiss just giggled at this.

"It was really impressive for someone at her age. You did incredible tonight"Weiss complimented as melody looked at her. Then she hugged weiss leg to their surprise as she looked down at her.

"Thank you"melody thanks as weiss just smiled patting the top of her head.

"It was no problem, i just wanted to help its what a huntresses does"weiss said smiling at that, it might not be saving someone life. But it did bring a smile to her face for what she did for the girl. Soon enough the other congratulated melody. Apollo made sure to record it and the musician store owner smiled brightly. The group then soon made their way back home for the night wondering how everything was at the hayley residents

Meanwhile at said hayley residents in her room eria layed in her bed sobbing still. While perun was their doing his best to comfort her right now. Calida was close by sitting on her other daughter bed sadden as she caressed the headrest.

"Eria everything is alright…she isn't here to hurt you"perun said soflty reassuring her that rosemary wasn't here.

"Yes, that girl is probably locked up right now for what she done"calida said affirming it.

Though eria choked a small sob back as she had her back turned toward them. She didn't believe that for one bit, because that girl and her teammates weren't reported on the news. But she was still relying from her twin sister running away from home.

"No shes not…and now…she…she…might hurt my sister"eria replied sadly as her voice sounded horse from crying.

This made her mother go wide eyed with worry, calida didn't think about that. If her daughter did find that team it could mean trouble for her. She just hoped that idiot boyfriend of her will watch her back.

Perun layed ontop of eria hugging her tight"don't talk like that, that won't happen i'm sure of it"he stated firmly

Eria wrapped her arms around herself shutting her eyes tight to fight the tears escaping her eyes.

"How….how do we know that?"she asked

"Because your dumb blonde of a sister won't just sit down and let someone kill her. Along with that she got people watching her back"calida reassured but looked at the picture frame close by. She reached over picking it up seeing it was the group picture her daughters took with people from beacon.

"Yeah…she right wherever she is she fine"perun stated as eria just sat just up with a sadden look on her face. Her eyes were puffy and red from crying them out.

"No…its not…i can't…save anyone"she stated confusing the two for a bit wondering what she meant by that.

"What are you talking about dear?"calida asked as she walked over taking a seat at the end of her daughter bed. Perun listend waiting if he might be needed to help her.

Eria rubbed her eyes to get some tears out as she cotninued to speak. She just needed to talk right now because, alot of things have been troubling her latly.

"I couldn't…save pyrrha…i was too slow and i lost my leg. Then…i hear my partner could be dead too…if she isn't…i know she hurt right now. Along with that…my own leader…that dumb clown goes into a city of grimm to kill himself trying to find me"eria started as her voice began to break.

Eria quivered as she gripped her bed sheets tight as tears dripped onto them"i don't deserve that leg…dad made me…i couldn't stop my twin sister from running away. I couldn't prevent my partner from getting hurt. And…i don't deserve to be leader for my team…i can't do it"she added sadly as they sat in silence for a bit.

Though from the doorway a knock could be heard on the doorframe. The three looked up to see jaki standing their with a sadden expression across his face. He then walked over to his daughter bed as he pulled her into a tight embrace. Eria just buried her head into his shoulder as she cried her eyes out.

"Don't talk like that…their are times were we can't save everyone we care about"jaki begun as he held her in the embrace as she listened as did the other two.

"i..I…when i heard your uncle village was attacked. I grabbed as many huntsman and huntresses i knew and rushed over to see if those two were okay. Back at beacon…i was our team leader. At first i thought i'd be a terrible leader for our team"he begun as eria intently listneed to him.

"But…when i saw what remained of my brother i was heartbroken. I thought they both died..but…in reality that small bit of hope i almost lost…was found. People found your sister trapped in a cellar…i was so happy he saved my little girl…at the cost of his life"he continued as his voice almost broke but he composed himself.

Then he let her go as both their eyes met as they mirrored each other a little. Her cold weaponsmith of a father gave a reassuring smile.

"Neccessary scarfieces are needed someitme to save those you care about. I…I know you miss your friends…i do too. Pyrrha was a sweet girl who cared about everyone"he started as he glanced at perun.

"And that loudmouth friend of yours was a troublemaker but he had a heart of gold. I can't thank him enough for saving my little girl"jaki said as perun smiled at that as he thought about how tanner was like that.

Then he looked at a desk nearby seeing a framed picture their. The weaponsmith then picked it up because in the frame was the team picture his daughter took. Jaki then placed it in her hands moving her hand to make her hold it tight.

Eria was a little confused by this looking at him"what are…you trying to say?"She asked with tears on her cheek as he wiped them away.

"That….it isn't your fault their gone, they gave their lives away to save alot of people. I'm sure you've noticed that….but being a leader is a tough position"jaki continued as calida layed a hand on his shoulder.

"Hes right…its a big responsible to fill for certain people. They feel like..they have an obligation to…protect their teammates like family. I thought your leader was a monster…but from what i heard and seen…he cared about all of you. "Calida said as she pulled her daughter in for an embrace holding her.

"I'm sure your sister will come home soon, we just need to keep on hoping for the best."calida said letting her duagther go as eria thought about their words. Then her father continued to speak as it reminded her of something.

"I'm sure…no positive your other teammate is okay. Don't sell yourself short my little snow dancer….he made a great choice picking someone like you to lead your team. If he picked your sister…you'd all be in jail for her shenanigans"jaki said chuckling a little at that.

Calida nodded as she rubbed her daughter back calming her down"just keep holding on that hope, we'll be here if you need anything"calida said as her and jaki got up. Along with perun but eria thought about something for a while. She just lost her sister today that ran away, if she was going to be their team leader now. Their was a choice she needed to make, she stared at her empty right pant leg narrowing her gaze.

She took a deep breath as she declared something that surprised the others.

"How long"she asked to their surprise as they looked at her.

"How long for what?"perun queestioned

The hayley father looked at his daughter and looked at him with a small smile on her face.

"How long…would it take for them to install it"she answered to their shock on what she is saying. Calida walked back to her bed as she placed a hand on her daughter.

"Sweetie…are…you saying?"calida asked as eria nodded

"I know…rogue might be found by the police. But if they don't…i need to keep that small bit of hope shes out their somwhere. If i'm going to be a leader…i need to be at full strength. So when the earliest i can go into surgery"eria asked looking at her father in shocked. While perun was wide eyed at this revelation right now as he smiled a little she considering it. Jaki lips quivered a little before a big smile came to his face as tears escaping his eyes.

"I'll…i'll schedule it in the morning"he said as eria nodded and soon they left her to herself. Eria had a small lamp on next to her.
