Chapter 15 Blue: Delivery

After they waited for everyone for the others to arrive to grab the supplies. Everyone was trying to find ways to past the time. The soldier should be returning around this time. Vance was with them talking for a bit but still remained distant. But it was progress at least it seems.

They all were having breakfast which consisted of some power bars, crackers and jerky. Not exactly a filling meal but it was conveinent right now. Earl was doing his hair in a small pocket mirror fixing it. Ophelia was watching for the truck to arrive along with octavia.

Gwen was looking over her arm while Dew helped her out. The girl wasn't the mechanic of the group that belong to nebula. Though she was worried about her wondering if their group completed their mission and if she was still alive.

Dew was checking her dust crystals over seeing she didn't have much left and probably needed to restock when they get back. As she looked over her gear she looked over at gwen who seemed to be troubled.

The blonde walked over to Gwen and tapped her gently on the shoulder to get her attention. Gwen looked up at her wondering what she wanted.

"Oh hey whats up?'gwen asked as she continue to do some maintenance on her arm.

"Nothing….you seem a little trouble is all"dew said which made gwen shake her head a little.

"I'm fine, just worried about nebula is all"gwen replied as she stared at her arm. The hatch was open exposing the circuits underneath it along with some wires.

Dew sighed heavy as she knew that wasn't just it. She then took a seat next to her teammate looking at her.

"Gwen, your regretting what you said to that vance guy finally aren't you?"Dew asked with a knowingly look at her.

The girl stopped for a second as she slowly closed the hatch on her arm. Then she flexed her finger for a bit and they moved around just fine. Gwen looked at it then over where vance was as he was staring at a picture in his hands.

Gwen sighed at this because Dew semblance was emotion related. She could sense people emotions at times. Though she can't shut it off but it doenst drain her semblance. The girl was sort of like a therapist in a way.

When ever their was trouble she could tell what was wrong at times.

"Yeah, a little bit right now. I just couldn't take the blame for losing my arm I shifted it toward his family. Though that guy is still a murderer"gwen replied

"I know but from what i'm assuming he didn't have a choice. But that vance guys emotion are all over the place right now"dew added

She looked at dew cursiouly what she meant by that exactly. Then she narrwoed her gaze at her wondering something then looked at vance shoe frowned at the picture in front of him.

"What do you mean?"gwen asked

Dew sat down as she gently set her spear down sitting next to Gwen. Then she leaned back against the concrete wall behind her sighing.

"His emotions are so bad its hard to tell kind of. He's anger, sad, scared right now. Some of its directed toward someone i'm guessing. Probably you and cardin about his cousin but.."Dew began stopping looking closely at vance.

"He's also blaming himself it seems"dew finished

Gwen raised an eyebrow looking at her then at vance"really? Is he blaming himself that he couldn't save him or something"gwen asked

Dew thought for a moment before she gently nodded her head"probably but….try to be nice to the guy for the rest of the mission alright"dew asked

Gwen gentle nodded to her letting her know she will. Dew smiled a little as she got up grabbing her spear walking over to grab a few things. Gwen then looked over at vance who stuffed the picture in his pocket. Then he got up with his hands in his pocket heading downstairs.

Octavia and opehlia were looking out the window a little bored right now. Their entire mission was a little too easy right now. Though she was curious what else they'd be doing after they were done here.

Opehlia was looking at the street with her rifle as the ready looking at the street. It was barren right now but outside leon men were watching the shipping container. She heard banging from it suggesting those guards are up.

Guess they got some karma for being slavers. They now know how it feels to be trapped in a dark place.

"So when is that dumb truck suppose to arrive soon?"octavia asked as she looked over her dagger.

Ophelia lowered her rifle looking at the girl thinking for a moment.

"Its suppose to be here soon then were heading back to base. After that I don't know…maybe take the police station back"opehlia replied

"Hmm maybe but why are they even here. It weird seeing a bunch of armed thugs in a city full of grimm still. They said their looking for someone and they keep attacking the base. Why?"octavia questioned.

Opehlia cupped her chin thinking about it. She was right why exactly would they need to attack the base. Their has to be an end goal here and who would they be looking for. Maybe someone hired them to capture someone that is in the base.

"Don't know lets keep a-"opehlia began as a horn could be heard down below. She and octavia quickly looked to see a large cargo truck pull up to the building. The soldier riased their rifles at the ready for anything that could happen.

But then from the truck out stepped paul putting his hands up. Along with another despardo soldier. They lowered their guard as they led him inside to the building. The two nodded as they decided to join the others downstairs.

Downstairs everyone slowly regroup as paul walked in looking at the place smiling. He crossed his arms looking at the supplies in front of them.

"Great job everyone, with this we can hold against another attack. "Paul said as he started to grab a few boxes from the pile. As he did the soldier started to move the boxes as leon opened the large garage door. Then the truck backed up for the supplies to be loaded in.

Gwen grabbed a small box of medical suppiles and hevaed it up. Then she slowly walked into the truck gentle setting it down. As she did vance walked past her as he set one box down. He cracked his back rubbing it and then continued to load them in.

"So has the other team come back yet?"dew asked as she set another box in the truck down wiping the sweet off her forehead.

Paul shook his head"nope, though nezumi expects the worst if they don't show up in the next few hours"paul replied sadly.

Team NDGO looked at each other a little worried. Earl and Ophelia looked at each other worried their new teammate might be hurt. Vance looked at them with a somber look. He sighed feeling a little bad for them.

They might have been bad mouthing his family for a month. But that didn't excuse his actions he took against them. He fought against people wanting to help him and that gwen girl seems to regret her decision maybe.

Though he spectically about it, he kinda hopes the others come back ok.

"Look they'll be fine…i'm sure of it"the lynx said trying to reassure them as he continued to work on loading stuff.

"Yeah…your right…thanks"gwen thanked the lynx who gentle nodded.

The group cotninued to load the supplies into the truck for thirty minutes. Some of the boxes where heavy but they made it a group effort to load them in. Though some of them will be sore tomorrow after their done.

As they finished loading the truck paul pulled the truck door down shutting it. He breathed a sigh of relief that they managed to get the supplies. Now all they needed to do was get back to base camp without any issues.

Though last night a night patrol reported that one of the grimm knights left the city. Which was good for them and he decided to rely the information to them. Because after this they'd be taking back the police department from hassan.

He turned to the group who were exhausted as they were sweeting a little. They all sat on some chairs and wooden tables around them.

Opehlia wiped the sweet from her brow as she took a breath. While dew and octavia were leaning against each other tired. Gwen was wiping her hands off on a rag to avoid getting her dress was busy spraying something on him that seemed to be body spray.

Strange for a studnet to bring that as an essential for a mission. Vance was kneeling over as he took some slow breath pacing himself.

"Hey good news kid our patrols last night saw something interesting"paul said getting all their attention.

"Really…what is it?"earl asked as he sprayed more body spray around him.

"What did the grimm decide to leave the city out of the kindness of their heart"octavia said sarcastically.

"Sort of…a patrol reported this morning that a grimm knight left the city. So it should make dealing with them a little easier when we take the police station back. "Paul replied

The students went a little wide eyed at this news. They were a little happy not having to deal with one of those freaky knights. But that begged the question which one was it that left the city.

Gwen rubbed her arm looking at paul asking this"Which one left the city?"gwen questioned.

Paul thought for a moment thinking about which one left then he snapped his fingers.

"That one called alpha I think, saw him heading east out of the city though. "Paul replied

Gwen seemed a little disappointed it seems. She wanted some payback agains the guy but if she rushed in blind. That would mean their would be a chance she could get hurt. Though part of her was relieved that thing left the city.

"Alright if were done here were heading back to base then you kids can relax"leon added with all them agreeing. The students then piled into the other car outfront. Leon drove the car because most of them knew how to driv ebut he didn't trust them.

Leon started the car as the engine hummed to life. Then they pulled out of the gate then drove down the ruined streets of vale. They had to avoid some of the cars on the street that blocked the way. But they completed their mission on securing the supplies and couldn't wait to get a break and relax for a bit. Along with hoping their friends were okay.

The group made their ways through the old tunnel system with everyone surrounding each other. The people who were unarmed were in the middle with whatever belonging they had left. Along with that mostly everyone with weapons surrounded them to make sure they were alright.

Zane looked around and the tunnel was surprisingly big. His feet were starting to hurt a little and he felt exhausted from all this walking. He been in a bed for a month. But with that surprestant cardin had it did give him a bit of a pep in his step.

The tunnel had some debris in it but that didn't deter the group from their mission. They had some flashlight with them that illuminated the tunnel slightly but it was still hard to see. Though the faunus of their group had no problem thanks to their night vision.

"Hmm is it me or does this tunnel ever end"naca questioned starting to get a little sick of all this walking.

"The tunnel does run to the harbor, and were pretty far from their. Though from what I can recall front hose maps we should be getting closer to the entrance"yumi replied

Cardin had his mace on his shoulder as he looked around the tunnel for anything that could attack them. They didn't know if this palce was taken over by any grimm. Their hasn't been any yet which didn't sit right with him.

As zane walked through the tunnel he was looking at his right hand. He opened it and closed it a few time examining it. Then he closed his eyes again as blood was their. He stood their for a bit then noticed something in front of him.

Their on the ground in front of him was penny dead body and his expression changed to fear. She layed their lifeless staring at him as his vision was turning a littl red. He closed his eyes breathing a little to calm down. As he sat their trying to compose himself someone grabbed him on the shoulder shaking him.

"Hey you good?"the voice said as he immediately opened his eyes. He looked toward xander standing their staring at him with a puzzled look. Zane rubbed his eyes and look to see the vision gone.

"Uh y-yeah….just tired is all"zane quickly replied as he started to walk away from the wolf.

Xander raised an eyebrow as he jogged a bit to catch up with zane. He pulled something from his back and it was a bag as he went through it. Then he through it pulling something out. Then he held something in front of zane.

The grimm hybrid looked what was in his hands and it was a scroll. It was cracked a little but zane picked it up. He opened it and he saw that it was his.

"We found that on you…I thought it would be useful"xander said quickly.

He chuckled and rubbed the wolfs head messing his hair up. Xander moved zane hand off him a little annoyed. Then he parted his hair a little trying to fix it.

"Thanks…though guessing you went through it"zane said as xander stared at him.

"Yeah, along with that video you sent to my sister"xander replied narrowing his gaze with anger

The kid looked mad at him which was understandable. He rubbed his neck while he looked at his scroll. Zane started going through some of the pictures on their. He smiled as he went through them then he past the one of his and onxyia and velvet first date.

Then he frowned a little, because that smile of hers is probably something he won't see ever again, glancing to velvet slightly

"Look if your going to beat me up for hurting you sister. Just make it quick pretty sure theirs a long line of people who want me dead anyway"zane replied as he kept looking at his scroll.

Xander gaze soften a little as his ears folded over a he rung his hands together a little concerned about what he said.

"Its fine…I just want you to make sure when we find my sister again. Please make it up to her"xander begged

Zane slowly nodded to him as xander gave him a small smile. Then zane turned to his scroll again and looked at the call function. He tapped is as he scrolled through the contacts. Then he looked at his teammates.

If he called them right now he could let them know he was okay. But he was scared that they hate him right now. He sighed as he closed his scroll pocketing it.

Coco seemed rather scared of the dark since it isn't her best friend exactly. She got locked under their sink when she was little. Her brothers and her played a game of hide'n'seek.

Then after hiding for a while they gave up on finding her. She was stuck in their for a very long time. That was until her uncle faba found her. Luckily he did but she was afraid of the dark after that day.

Velvet noticed her friends plee sighing"coco do you want someone to hold your hand?"she offered as the fashion monger grabbed the nearest person being may who blushed slightly from that.

"I'll hold her…sorry got a fear of well the dark"coco quickly said

"Your fine though uhh you two discuss your relationship or whatever"may added as this made velvet and zane both eye each other as cardin and xander were with him. The two felt very awkward right now as cardin noticed their plee.

"Alright vel if your gonna give him a piece of your mind do it now while where here"Cardin said as the rabbit eyed her boyfriend glaring a little as he looked down ashamed.

"Well for starters i'm disappointed that you would try to go and kill yourself in the first place. Second i'm mad at you right now for what you did to me and wolfie"velvet continued as he guessed where this was going.

"Let me guess you don't want me near you anymore"he asked but it was the opposite as surprisingly she kissed him on the cheek making him blush.

"I..uh…uh huh?"xander said surprised himself before she leaned her head against his shoulder.

"But i also understand you did it to protect everyone from those mental suggestion. I'm sure we can find a way to remove them. All I ask for is that you better have something to make it up to me and wolfie"velvet sweetly said as he stared at her for a moment before pulling her into a loving embrace tight burying his face into her shoulder.

"I…i will..but…i'm so sorry…i'm so sorry for sending that video…i..i was just scared. I'll make it up to you"he cried as she returned the embrace smiling hearing that.

"I know you will, though lets get out of here then we can maybe catch up. I've missed you and wolife alot"velvet replied as it made him feel relieved that she so caring but felt guilty for how he hurt her. But then he got curious about something else. He recalled rogue telling him Cardin had a thing for the panda faunus with them right now.

"Sooo cardin question?"zane questioned looking at cardin.

"Yeah whats up?"Cardin answered

Then zane had a devilish grin on his face and cardin looked worried"did you and panda ears hook up or…"Zane playfully teased looking at him.

Cardin slightly blush as he rested his mace on his shoulder laughing a little.

"Umm you see…umm…well…yea"cardin finally found the words telling zane.

Zane chuckled as he tapped cardin on the shoulder. He was happy for the guy, Cardin was such a jerk back then. But now he kinda considers him a friend now. Though cardin then had a big grin on his face now. He looked over at xander with their group and decided to do something.

"Though at least i didn't get hugged by a certain wolf like a stuffed animal. Then had to run down the hall barely clothed"cardin said as zane and velvet gave a haunted expression

Xander ears perked up and jae was close by attentively listening to their conversation. She slowed down a little to join in on their conversation.

"what?!"Xander shouted getting a few people attention. They turned to looked at the wolf faunus who was mortified a little. Zane put his hood up covering his face from embarrassment. While Jae giggled a little with a mischievous look. Velvet face felt very hot right now

"Hey what wrong we encounter trouble or something?!"trifia shouted from the front worried it seems.

Jae laughed a little before she wipe a small tear from her face. While cardin chuckled as he rested his mace on his shoulder.

"Nah just scarring Xander for life!"Jae replied. They could hear Trifia groan as she motioned for everyone to continue. Yuma laughed upfront a little, and continued to walk down the tunnel.

Zane covered his face as xander stared at him with horror.

"Man I can't wait to see onxyia again and make fun of her for that"jae added giggling thinking about what will happen. The girl would probably pass out on the spot from embarrassment.

"Come on man….don't scare the kid"zane said as he started to speed walk infront of them. Cardin shook his head as he and the other two jogged after them. But near the ceiling something moved around that looked bug like.

It kicked some small pieces of rock down landing behind them. They failed to notice this as they continued to move down the tunnel to escape.

In the police station hassan was preparing to strike the huntsman camp in a few hours. As he did a car engine could be heard from down the street. He was outside with several men surrounding some humvee and armored cars.

The cars looked to be armored from the looks of them. They had crudely put armor on them that seemed welded to the car. The soldiers were all armed to the teeth. Diego was their as he was petting his sabyrs. He scratched one chin smiling at it as it purred.

Hassan walked out to the street to see a white truck coming down the street. It had their logo on it and he smiled a little as it came down the street. Soon the car pulled up toward the front of the police station. It slowed down as it parked infront of him.

Then from the car four soldiers came out along with a scientist it seems. As he step out he seemed to be an elderly man with disheveled gray hair, with a matching mustache and beard and prominent eyebrows. His left eye was robotic as it glowed red and around it were some noticeable claw marks. His right arm was also roboti and was dark and metallic and had red innter circuits.

His attire consisted of a light gray jakcet with a high collar and a red shirt underneath. On each sleeve of the jacket is a dark gray hexagon shape.

The door was shut with a click signifying it was closed. Hasssan smiled at the man who looked a little worried at him.

"Doctor merlot, good for you to provide some support for us today.'' Hassan said, smiling evily.

Merlot gulped nervously as he stared at the man"ah Hassan it's good to see you again….why have you requested me to come to the city today with them"merlot replied motioning toward the back of the car.

Then hassan started to walk over to the back as merlot followed him. But the guards surrounded him making sure he didn't run away from them it seems. They kept their eyes trained on him so he didn't try anything.

Once he got to the back he grabbed the handles. Then he threw the doors open to reveal six people in the back. They had white jumpsuits with short sleeve on and bags over their head. Their hands were handcuffs to a bar behind them. Along with SDC collars around their neck that peeked out from underneath the bags.

"Oh nothing I just needed some barginnign chips to persuade the huntsman and huntresses to leave the city"hassan replied smiling.

Merlot looked worried as he had a sadden expression on his face. He clneched his robotic hand that made a metallic noise as he did. Merlot sighed as he stepped forward looking into the truck.

With a heavy sigh he spoke"Alright everyone please step out, your to help Hassan with something"Merlot said with a heavy heart.

The people handcuffs soon detached from the metal poles behind them as if they were magnitized to them. Then they slowly shuffled out of the truck and stepped out. All of them looked skinny and dishelved by their appearance.

A couple of them had bruises on their arms that could be seen. Their were four males and two females in the group. Diego then stepepd forward examining the group with a smile.

"Ahh are these fool new prey for me to hunt?"diego asked as he studied each of the people in front of him. They shivered a little in fear as they heard that.

"No..a couple of them will be delivering something to the gates. Along with that some will be….incentives to those huntresses and huntsman their."hassan replied.

Near one of the crudely made armored truck was hassan men loading something into the back of it. Their was red and orange dust crystals in the back. Along with a circular shaped explosive in the back as well. But in the middle comaprement was a switch that had wires connecting to the explosives.

Back in the tunnels the group keep moving forward as yumi squitned her eyes down the tunnel seeing a bright light down the way. She smiled as she turned to the other to give them some good news.

"Great news were near the end of the tunnel were almost home free everyone"yumi exclaimed

Everyone in the group seemed happy, especially the faunus and humans from the safehouse. They would finally be out of the city filled with grimm. They just had to make it to the end of this tunnel.

The group continued to walk down the path but as they did a despardo soldier felt something wet hit his shoulder. He looked at his shoulder where a green liquid was. Then he felt a burning sensation on his arm as he dropped his rifle screaming.

"Ahhh it burns, get it off"he screamed, getting everyone's attention.

The soldier arm was slowly dissolving it seems as a green substance tore through his arm. The flesh on his arm tore through the muscles and bones where his shoulder was. Then it dropped to the ground as a hissing sound came off it. He moved around erratically as his skin melted away from his bodoie

The group pointed their flashlight up to see where it came from. It shined what exactly killed the soilder and they looked in horror at the unforeseen foe.

On the ceiling was a long black bug like creature that was segemnted. Each of its segments had a pair of clawed legs and seems to be protected by a protective shell. Its carapace was bone white with red marking on it. Its head had no eyes but it had a very large jaw. The jaw had four small claws on it with green liquid dripping from its mouth.

Then it dropped down onto the soldier starting to eat him. He screamed in pain as it spit the green liquid in his face. His screams became muffled and distorted.

"Run!"liam said as the group started to run toward the exit. As they did the others provided support to him as they dealt with these creatures.

Cardin aimed his mace at one clicking a trigger as a fireball shot toward it lighting it in flames. It fell down onto the ground squealing it seems and more kept crawling out of holes in the unholsteered his pistol as he fired at the bugs. With each hit they took green liquid fell to the ground.

Velvet had a digitized version of neptune rifle out. She fired some shots as plasma came out hitting the bugs. Then the green substances landed near her feet. As it did she relzied that it burned through the ground. She looked worried and dcidedd to relay it to the others.

"Watch out they bleed acid!"velvet shouted as she dodged one the bug swiping at her. She backed up as naca split up into her three clones running with the civlians to protect them. Another bug came forward lunging at the group but the blue clone fired a shot at it under belly.

It exploded a little as acid fell on to the ground as it fell to the ground dead. Her black clone fired at another filling it with lead as it used its armor on it too take the hits. Then it reared up ready to spit on her. But she a loud shotgun blast went off blowing its head clean off.

Akasha pumped her shotgun as a spent shell came out. She motioned for naca to keep moving and she nodded. The two kept running as they did their best to protect the civlians in their group. As they did miyuki was contemplating on using her maiden powers on these bugs.

But she couldn't risk getting found out, she didn't know who was a spy for that witch. So she kept them in check as she continued to run with the others while some fought them off. The swat officer with an injured shoulder fired at the grimm. He backed up a little but as he did he passed by a hole in the wall.

A pair of eyes glowed near the hole and soon something grabbed his leg. He fell to the ground as something pierced his leg. The officer cried in agony as may and nebula noticed this. The two rushed over trying to pull him out. They each grabbed his hands trying to pull him out.

"Hold on we got you!"nebual shouted as she grunted trying to pull him. But she could feel him slipping already.

"Dammit….kid…let go"the officer said as he breathed heavily.

May eye sunk a little but she kept pulling with all her might not letting go.

"No…we can…pull you out…just–"may begun but the officer then stopped them.

"Leave me…save those civilains. That was our mission, get them to safety…just tell my family I love them"he replied in a sadden tone and seemed to be accepting his fate

Nebula looked worried as she didn't want to lose someone in their group. They were so close to escaping the tunnel. If they found some way to get rid of the beast he could say it himself.

"No…no don't say that sir. You've done plenty for your city, don't throw your life away"nebula begged a little with a sadden expression as she held onto him with all her might.

The officer chuckled as he looked at them. They looked at his eyes that could be seen under his mask and helmet. Soon enough something tugged at them as the officer was pulled down into the hole. A crack could be heard as he was dragged into the depths.

They looked in it as they heard screams of anguish and they couldn't see anything. Nebula hit the wall as May looked shocked at what just happened. Then the two picked themselves as the officer was right. They needed to get the civlians out of here two then rushed to the group trying to escape the tunnel.

A gunshot rang out as zane fired more pistol shots at the beast. He kept firing and aimed it above firing at one. It stomach was filled with lead as it fell down with a thud to the ground. He kept backing up firing off shot at the creatures.

"What the hell are these things?!"xander questioned as he swung at one with his billhook blade. He sliced it but it spit acid at him. He dodged it as he saw a puddle of acid on the ground. Xander was relvied it didn't hit him.

Coco hit one back with her hand bag then changed to her minigun. She spooled it up as she shot a hail of bullets at four of these grimm bugs. The grimm bugs armor took the hits for a bit but before long they fell down dead to the ground. Acid dripped from the bullet holes in their bodies.

"If I recall from Port's boring lectures their centinels. But they're from Solitas, why are they here?"she questioned as she kept firing at them with her minigun.

Cardin smacked one back as more kept crawling out from holes in the ceiling and coruched at he took pot shots at the bugs while the others did the same thing. They kept coming through the walls and crevices of the tunnel.

"Don't know but we gotta move their too many"cardin said as they all agreed. Retreating was the best option. The group then turned around as they ran to catch up with the others heading toward the turned her minigun back into her handbag as they continued to run down the tunnel. Zane kicked one back, dumping three bullets into it, pivoting and running.

As the group kept running Xander wasn't paying attention until from above a centinel landed ontop of him. He screamed a little as the bug tired to bite him. Luckily he pushed it off slightly but the thing grabbed his leg. It started to try and drag him as he looked scared.

He clawed at the debris on the ground trying to escape. As he did Carver looked back toward the kid. He gritted his teeth as he ran back for the kid. Miyuki looked at him worried wondering what he was doing.

"Carver, what are you doing?!"miyuki questioned.

"Kids in trouble he needs help"carver replied as he sprinted toward xander. As he got close zane relzied that he was running back. He turned to see xander getting dragged by the grimm. A flash happened as zane saw onxyia their getting dragged away.

"no…no..I can't let him die"zane said to himself as he sprinted back for him. He woudln't forgive himself for that and zane sprinted toward xander as he shot at some of the grimm surroduning him. With each muzzle flash it illuminated the tunnel were several of them in the tunnel crawling toward him.

"Please…help…please"xander begged as he kept pulling the trigger. Soon enough he heard a clicking noise and his pistol was empty. He looked at the approaching centinel opening its jaws filled with acid ready to bit closed his eyes ready for whatever was going to happen.

As it was ready to bite him a pistol rang out. Then he opened his eyes slowly seeing the creature stunned. Xander turned to see Zane their firing several shots at the creature with an anger look. The wolf faunus pushed it off as he tried to move but his ankle was bleeind.g

"Stay the hell away from her brother you monsters!"zane shouted inbetween each shot he took. Then as he got close he hoslter a pistol and unlaoded the spent magazine. He then loaded in a new clip primiming the hammer as he did. He kept firing as he got close to xander.

"Come on kid….wolfie will kill me if you're dead"zane said offering his free hand to xander. Xander tried to get up but his leg was bleeding slgihtly. He looked at it and it was pierced, xander closed his eyes as it oozed blood.

Zane went wide eyed and holstered one pistol. Then he grabebd xander by the arm as he heaved him onto his came over with a hunting rifle like weapon as he fired off shot. He gave a nod to Zane to move telling him he'll cover them.

Zane nodded as he turned around running while carver provided cover fire. As he did a centinel launched acid toward craver legs. He wasn't quick enough as it melted off his right leg quickly. Carver fell down with a thud and he was close enough by the entrance as miyuki saw this.

"No!"miyuki shrieked like a banshee trying to get to carver. But Naca grabbed her by the arms pulling her back. She kicked her legs trying to go for him.

"Dammit don't its too late for him"naca said trying to stop the girl from going back. Miyuki had tears in her eyes looking at carver as he fired at the approaching grimm. He grunted with each shot as they approched him.

Zane stopped looking at him and Carver looked toward him with a stoic look.

"Get the kid out of here and protect miyuki for me kid. "Carver ordered with a stoic expression. Zane hesitated before giving him an affirming nod to him as he rushed with Xander on his shoulder. Xander looked back sad as Carver smiled at them. Then he turned his attention toward the centinels attakcing him.

Then after a few more shots a click could be heard telling him he was out of ammo. Carver groaned as he reached into his jacket pocket. He pulled out a small dust crystal taped to a grenade. Carver chuckled as he pressed a button on the explosive.

Miyuki watched trying to go back their for him as she was held back. Zane sprinted toward the exit closing his eyes with a sadden look. As he got close a loud explosive could be heard. Zane turned to see a bunch of fire behind him along with some debris falling from above.

As it did the centinels started to retreat a little. But soon he made it outside with the others. As zane stepped outside he covered his eyes from the sun. His eyes hurt along with a few others. But they all slowly opened them as they looked to see they were near a small beach.

The sky was blue and a couple birds could be heard. Miyuki was looking back at the tunnel as her knees gave out. She fell into the ground looking down as she creid with her maiden powers eyes had small flames around them as she covered her eyes crying.

Naca quickly covered her to avoid someone relizing she was the winter maiden. Luckily she hide it for now but as the group stood their taking in the fresh air. They relized they lost some people in the group due to the centinel attack.

They were so close to freedom but they were snuffed out by the grimm. Soon the group heard clicking above them and the primining of hammers.

"Hands up now!"someone shotued above them as they turned to see who it was.

Their above them was a small patrol of atlas, despardo, officers and one face that was familiar to the students. Their with them was Port with his blunderbuss axe at the ready. Port looked at the group then he stepped forward putting a hand up to signal them to put their weapons down.

"Its the rescue team gents, their back"he exclaimed as the soldiers and officers lowered their weapons. They all holstered their weapons to start helping them up offering hands. The group took them as they were pulled up.

Cardin got pulled up and he turned around offering a hand to the other helping them up. Naca pulled herself up as she offered Miyuki a hand. She wrapped her arms around herself as she gave her one hand and naca pulled her up.

Yumi looked at cardin expecting him to offer her his hand. He smiled before he did pulling the girl up to him. She smiled but looked at the group they were with sadden some of them where lost.

Nebula sheathed her sword before jumping vertical grabbing the edge as she used her arms to pullherself up. But she looked a little sadden that she couldn't save the officer from the tunnel.

May took an atlas soldiers hand as he pulled her up. She sat on the ground for a bit from all the running they did. But she sighed heavily because they still lost alot of people.

Liam boosted some of the people in the group as they were grabbed by some of the soldiers. He motioned for more to keep coming

Velvet jumped as she held onto the edge slipping a little. Coco chuckled as she went over getting under her pushing her upwards. Velvet got up and offered a hand to coco. But the girl instead jumped up pulling herself up. The rabbit rolled her eyes at her annoyed

Xander was still being carried by zane on his shoulders. Port looked at the injured boy and offered to pull him up. Zane handed him to the old man who didn't relize it was him because his hood was up.

Port then placed the wolf faunus down gently as some soldier readied a protable strecher placing him on it. Then he turn to offer a hand to, zane grabbed it but as he did the wind blew his hood off.

Zane was pulled up as he rubbed his side a little while Port cracked his old huntsman dusted himself off as he slowly looked up at the boy. He stopped for a second, stunned it seemed as he stared at the boy.

"My word….is that you "port exclaimed walking forward with his hand behind his back.

Zane looked away and gently nodded to the old man. Port smiled a little laughing as he patted the boy on the rested his hand on his and gentle nodded but looked down a little.

The group lost some people who gave their lives for others to live. For that they were thankful as the patrol brought the group back to base camp to rest up.

They finally made it out of that safehouse after being in their for so long but with carver scarfiecing himself to hold them off. But it seems that gwen and vance seem to be on good terms for now. Even velvet still wants to be in a relationship with her grimm with merlot being introduced, till the next chapter!
