Okay here's one of the chapters where you'll see how the perspective of a person will change. When you see the line, that's how you will know when the perspective will change, I promise you it won't be confusing.
I'm also going to be doing the line between the story itself and the author's notes I write to make things a little simpler, with that out of the way let's get started, enjoy!!
With years of being a police detective you would think that I'm used to seeing or hearing weird, odd, unbelievable and utterly strange phenomenons and stories over the years, and with my lie detector quirk It only makes some of the more crazier stuff I've bear witness to feel very real despite how shocking they may be.
But this?
Somebody from another world suddenly appears in our world and claims to know the future?
Yeah no, this was definitely not what I was expecting let alone could ever expect even if I tried.
If it weren't for my quirk I would have thought that she was lying, although I'm pretty sure that even if I didn't have my quirk, the look on her face would have definitely said otherwise, she told us with a complete straight yet stern face. Tone not wavering.
"I know it sounds rather unbelievable to you, but I can assure you that I'm not lying, I couldn't lie even if I tried. I mean using the truth in a different way without making it seem like I was lying and letting somebody fill in the gaps for me is one thing but there's a difference between telling the truth and actually lying." Miss Jayden, or as she prefers to be called Connie, said assuredly, "Besides, I'd rather not lie to you guys, especially not with the current situation at hand."
Looking at the others I could see that all of them had looks of disbelief, but who can fault them?
They all looked to me as I gave them a nod which only made their disbelief increase knowing that there was no fault in what she said.
The only one who didn't show it physically was the principal as he said to her with an intrigued grin, "Well this would most certainly explain why the numbers from your passport weren't able to be used on the phone when we tried to contact your emergency contacts, why when I looked up the name of the school that you attended there was no registry of it anywhere as if There was no record of it to begin with, And why when I tried to look up your name and that of your EC in the databases There wasn't a single result that popped up, not a one as if none of you existed in the first place even though you clearly had a passport, validated adoption papers from your parents and papers that prove your existence from your school records to your dental records."
"No surprise there." Connie said half in expectation and half in slight defeat.
"Although I can assure you that the rest of your belongings have been completely untouched, I haven't even turned on your phone which I assume would have more personal data on there that you'd rather share yourself rather than have somebody peek at it without your consent." Nezu told her which made her sigh in relief as she nodded at it.
That was one thing that people tend to forget, just because the principal was super nosy and tended to know more than most people did, it doesn't change the fact that sometimes he knew when to back off or keep his mouth shut if he was going to get into some rather sensitive or personal information about a person who was right in front of him and was willing to wait until they told him themselves what they were hiding.
And given what I was told and the scars that were on her back, trust was the key here and so we need to wait until she tells us herself.
"But if what you are saying is true, then how is it that you know about our world, I mean you know of my first name and Mr. Yagi's last name, And you said that the future was at stake so you know about it, right?" Mr. Midoriya asked her next, Still shocked but otherwise curious to know her story.
"That's right. And there's a good reason How and Why I know, although the truth of the matter is rather more unbelievable in its own right, which is why I'm glad that Mr. Tsukauchi is here to confirm it cuz otherwise you wouldn't believe me unless I showed you other bits of evidence that I have on my phone or spoke about information on you guys that nobody else should know except you and a select few to confirm that what I'm saying was true." She replied, giving the boy a small smile before she said, "Where I come from this world exists as a very popular anime, so popular that it's one of the best in the whole world. Literally. Currently season 7 hasn't arrived, and in fact only season 6 has finished so we don't know when we'll see the adaptation of season 7 from the mangas, Which is where the show originated from. Although there were some parts in the manga that weren't included in the anime nonetheless looking from there helps give small important details to note which sometimes later was seen in the aftermath after the end credits or in short specials that came or in the movies, which ever comes first. Anyways, The anime you guys starred in is one of my absolute favorites and helped me when I was facing difficult times back home."
I couldn't help it blink, repeatedly, silence fell upon the room as I looked to the others, just like me they were unable to voice how they felt about it and were left just too awestruck for words, again who can blame them, or any of us for that matter?
Again only the principal showed no signs of his expression changing, which has always left me a little unnerved sometimes, although I can see in his eyes that this really peaked his interest more and more.
Connie, upon seeing our reactions, then told us, "I know this is rather hard to swallow, and to help you guys so you don't have an existential crisis, I can explain how things are the way they are. Think of it like this, your world leaves behind invisible footprints that find their way to my world and from there the people from my world get the ideas and inspirations to create a brand new franchise based on something they believe to have made up when really they were remnants from your world that found their way into ours. Never knowing that that which they were producing had already existed from the beginning. Never knowing that there really were indeed worlds beyond our own, let alone beyond our universe, the same could be said for fanfiction's and AO3 stories as well that people create, and I've read enough to know what I'm talking about especially when it comes to crossovers or self-inserts or OC's that starred in them. Crossovers have also happened between TV shows, movies and games too, not just in stories but that would depend on the case in question and how it all plays out but that is another matter altogether that would take longer to explain. I mean the same could be said for you guys like things from our world exist in your world because of the invisible footprints that we left behind in some manner but how? Even I find it hard to completely comprehend but I believe you understand, at the moment, what I mean."
Again, if I didn't have my lie detector quirk I would have assumed that all she said was something she read straight out of her fictional story. Although how she explained it did make more sense here.
Yet That does take my mind off a few things and it makes more sense the way she told us, There were too many good points to point out any fault in them.
Although this does open up a new door for a lot of things, More especially the fact that there were other worlds beyond our own and that our world exists as a show with people there never knowing that what they thought and saw was actually things that occurred in our world, both that which has already happened and that which hasn't yet.
"Tell me guys, Do you know what isekai means?" She asked us.
This made the boy perk up as he replied, "Doesn't that mean a character from one world suddenly appearing in another world either as themselves or as a completely different person altogether depending on the circumstances, and in some cases with their memories intact while others with only a few memories of what their life was like before appearing there, also in most cases those people end up in a world that's unknown to them while for others some end up in a world they've only known in anything related to fiction?"
This made Connie smile as she nodded vigorously, "Yes exactly! There are even a few shows that are like that too."
"I think I could recall at least a few Anime's My classmates mentioned here and there that was something along those lines too, but never looked into it myself." He replied.
What surprised me though was when the girl gave him a sad smile, something in her eyes told me that she felt sorry for him, but why? I don't know, but given what she told us it can only mean that she knows something that the boy is going through and no one else knows.
She gave me a brief look, almost pleading like she wanted to speak to me about it later, I made a mental note to speak to her in private the next chance we got.
'Oh Izuku... I promise you that I'll help you through your trials. You never deserved to get tormented just cuz you don't have what most do. You're the most pure hearted boy I've ever seen, you deserve to have friends, to be allowed to follow your dream, to have real companionship and to receive kindness in return just as you give it to others, no one had any right to hurt you for things beyond your control...' I thought as my heart went out to him.
It hurt knowing what he went through. And what he was going to go through eventually.
For him and All Might (Especially with what the former went through compared to the latter as far as my knowledge goes).
And not just in the canon.
But also in the number of stories I've read in how bad it could potentially get.
I'm rather apprehensive to find out which one was right or at least similar or not.
And I am absolutely not looking forward to finding out how bad things can potentially get if nothing is done.
Although if anything from reading numerous stories and seeing adventure based shows has taught me, whether or not you want to or not, you're going to experience unpleasant things one way or another, No matter how hard you try to avoid it.
Hopefully Tsukauchi caught what I was discreetly conveyed to him.
The sooner this is addressed the better.
It would do a great deal of good in the long run, for him and for Bakugo.
As much as I hated him for how he treated poor Izuku, I do know that he does have a redemption arc and he gets better as time progresses.
Hopefully my actions can expedite the process in a way that won't lead to something even worse happening.
If not for mine, then for both their sakes, and that of what's to come.
"Because of my vast knowledge, you could very well say I'm kind of a timekeeper, even though I have no power over time whatsoever, I only just have the knowledge that could really change things far more accurately then how Sir Nighteye can through his quirk alone because I have a more accurate description of every detail that'll happen." I explained next, quickly getting back to the subject at hand, "Nonetheless we have to be careful, if we do something incorrectly, or if we do something too soon or if we are too late then even worse disasters may befall us. For with great power comes great responsibility, especially regarding knowledge here, and that also means making sure you play your cards right, time-wise. There are a handful of things I can explain now and some things that can be explained later depending on circumstances, and especially depending on specific people that I would rather like to be involved with or not. But there's so much to explain in general, which is why I would like to ask for notebooks and writing utensils so I can write down every single detail as well as drawing pictures of everything that I have within my memory, less I somehow forget something crucially important and we end up running into a huge mishap later down the line."
"That can easily be arranged." Nezu replied with a nod, "I'll have them delivered to you post haste, and I shall even provide a safe for them to be put in so to avoid them being stolen, Just to give you a little more assurance on your end."
"Thank you Sir." I replied with a smile, If it weren't for my back I would have bent down and offered my hand to him to shake it.
Plus, By putting down all the information I have on paper, I can save myself from having to explain it multiple times in a row unless it comes to very specific piece of information I hadn't wrote in the notebooks or hadn't wrote down yet.
We still need to get Mr. Aizawa, Sir Nighteye, Gran Torino, Mr. Shield and his daughter involved in this, but that can wait for a little while at least.
Uhg, my hair is really feeling constricted from being in these long braids for who knows how long. Though I have to guess that they were left like this, but had been undone from the buns they were in at least to ensure my head wouldn't feel constricted and in order to be able to check on my back without my hair getting in the way.
And my hair could comically parody that princess from a tower from that old story that later got a movie adaptation of it.
You know what I'm talking about folks.
Though thankfully my hair wasn't That long, Just long enough that there were at least several feet of it that would lay and be dragged on the ground if I were standing up right now.
Probably almost as long as a wedding gowns Cape trails. Nonetheless it's a lot of hair.
I may like having long hair, but I never wanted it to get That long. And at this point of time if I leave it as it is it'll only be a hindrance for me.
And let's just say I've seen and experienced enough of how much of a hindrance it could be in the wrong situation.
Don't even get me started on how I can even washed all this long hair without too many issues, let alone how I manage to get all that hair combed and braided and such almost every single day, so having my haircut will definitely spare me from suffering anymore of it like I have for years.
And since basically my uncle doesn't exist anymore, I can now get my, long overdue, hair cut without being unfairly reprimanded or even being quote unquote "disciplined" for even thinking about it
But that would have to wait, because right now I want to get these unbraided, especially after having gotten it all snagged here and there from all that running I went through in the forest.
That was quite painful.
James thankfully picked up on what I wanted to do and gently got off of my lap and the bed before walking over to Ms. Midoriya, who still looked rather shocked, but soon calmed down after having explained everything, that and as James started to affectionately sniff and nuzzle against her which made her giggle before she started to pet and scrub him around his face and neck with equal affection, which made us all chuckle.
It was just too cute not too. If only I had my camera out so I could take a picture.
And made even cuter when our favorite protagonist knelt down so that he could pet him as well.
Honestly his natural cuteness alone could quail even the most fierce of storms, could even be weaponized if used correctly, like several stories I've read about Izuku having been born with a literal cuteness quirk.
Like a rope I pulled my left braid towards me until I eventually got to the tip, where it was still tied up.
Just then the door of the Nurses office opened as we all turned to it, it revealed Midnight, or rather Nemuri Kayama, who was in her normal apparel as she was now sporting a pair of oval black rim glass (the same kind that Sir Nighteye wears), a dark red long sleeve shirt that stopped past her elbows, dark blue-grey jeans and black heels.
I'm going to be serious here folks, Nemuri Kayama is a good person, and she's a good teacher and does well to use her quirk in her hero work, And she genuinely cares about her students and fellow staff members, but there are only three things that I absolutely disliked about her:
1: The innuendos surrounding her.
2: The horniness in some of her dialogues, Even if it may be all just merely teasing and show and just keeping people on their toes In terms of making people nervous or uneasy.
And 3: Her choice in costume, it is inappropriate, some part I can understand where she's going with for quirk application but for the most part I absolutely disapprove.
I could think of a good handful of costume designs that would be better suited and would still be able to allow her to use her quirk without any hitches and still even allow her to flaunt her beauty in such a way that would disarm a villain but not overly so that it comes off as inappropriate.
Anything is better than her current costume design and most certainly better than her costume designs way back when she was still in high school.
Don't ask.
Sorry folks, but I'd rather be far away from inappropriate content, and if I were to ever indulge in such a thing I would much rather prefer strictly sticking to What's actually appropriate in that subject such as what I do with my future husband privately, though that will not be until years later.
... If I ever marry someday that is... (Not like anybody would ever find me attractive).
For much of the faults that I find in her however, I know that she's a good person through and through, and to me she looks much more beautiful in her normal attire than she does in her costume.
Not to sound offensive or anything, I just mean that her costume at this present time is still not appealing to my eyes in any manner.
On a side note speaking of that, how does one tolerate wearing heels all the time, Especially in hero work and in battle? For me high heels make my toes bleed and feel like they're getting squished by a trash compactor.
Upon seeing me her eyes lit up with relief as she quickly cut through the others, blatantly ignoring their startled yelps, just to reach me, taking my hands into hers, startling me as she knelt down to my level and said:
"Oh it's so good to see that you're awake! When I saw the condition of your back when I was called to help tend to you with Recovery girl I was horrified, Especially knowing that a big handful of your scars were done over the years! A young lady such as yourself should not have to suffer and be marred in such a despicable manner! The reason why I wasn't here when you woke up is because I overslept and got here late, but nonetheless I'm glad to see that you're awake and okay! But are you still in pain? Do you need some medicine? Do you-?!"
"MS. KAYAMA PLEASE CALM DOWN!" I practically screeched trying to get her attention as this made her stop, startling her a little from me raising my voice so abruptly, don't get me wrong I'm touched that she was concerned for me and especially as her face was practically plastered with it as clear as a stop sign, but being approached like this in this sudden manner In the midst of not only just waking up but also trying to keep my emotions in check frightened me a little and I knew I needed to calm her down before she ended up panicking more then me.
I let out a sigh as I then apologize and said, "Sorry, You kind of startled me and I kind of freaked a little but I promise you I'm okay, to answer your questions, I'm doing all right, my back is still sore but that's more from suddenly jolting from reliving a rather frightening memory, Thankfully I didn't reopen my stitches a second time." The last part I told her with a smile which got her to smile back as she let out a sign of relief.
"That's good to hear." She said before she perked up and looked to her left side and then smiled, cooing as she saw that it was James, Who was startled by her approach but then calmed down immediately and decided to confront her, sniffing her curiously.
"Hello handsome, aren't you the curious type." She greeted him in a genuine playful manner as she gently let go of my hands (Which still had my left braid in them) and she too started to scrub his face affectionately as it only made him let out noises of approval as he then started snuggle against her chest which earned him another cooing and a gentle hug from her.
I've only seen a good handful of people who have been able to scrub him in such a manner that would earn such an approval, One of them of whom is a person that I know closest to me, which would be Ginger.
This only means that she was very good at scrubbing dogs in a manner of genuine love and affection, this usually means that She has a dog herself at home or She's handled animals a good handful of times to know what she's doing, and In some of those cases it's both.
Her actions only made everybody else chuckle more before Tsukauchi turned to the pros as he gave a discreet gesture that they'd have to explain some of the details to her later in private.
Speaking of details, It seemed that the principal picked up on it and decided to ask the million dollar question that I knew was coming:
"Miss Jayden, Now that you've explained some of the important things to us, would you mind terribly if you told us what happened to you before All Might and Mr. Midoriya rescued you?"
This caught everybody's attention as they all turned to me, especially Miss Kayama as soon let go of James in favor of giving me her undivided attention, James who looked to me giving me worried whimpers knowing very well that what I was going to tell them was not pleasant and still plagued me more than I could describe in words, and The Midoriya duo as The older of the two gave a face that showed motherly concerned (Which deeply pained me as this reminded me of my own mama) and for the younger his concern also had a mix of confliction for as much as he wanted to know my story he wanted to take into consideration how I felt especially after having just escaped getting captured.
I gave them a weak yet defeated smile before it turned into a deep frown as I cast my head down a little enough so that the bangs in front of my forehead and The bangs that framed my face could overshadow my eyes.
Letting out a tired and defeated sigh as I replied, "Well, In order to understand what happened, first I got to let you guys know about a few important details, including where it all started from. It might be a little unorthodox to explain that way but, in order to really know why what happened to me happened just before I was rescued, you need to know where it all stemmed from."
Even if it may take a while to explain, it was better to know the events of the past before you learn about what has become to be in the present in order for things to make sense.
I let out another sigh trying to calm myself down, only Ginger and James (and a few others) knows the true depths of my story, as I've never told anyone else besides the bare minimum, as much as a part of me was reluctant to say it, I knew that I could trust them, knowing that if anyone could help me it was them, even if I've only known them recently in person and I've only ever seen them on TV or in the mangas or read in stories of them, I knew that I can't just keep this in forever.
It was more out of fighting back trauma than fighting back pride (Not like there was any pride to speak about), And that last part had nothing to do with everything else.
Even if it doesn't go away overnight, I knew that I couldn't let it run rampant in my life forever.
Even if I may cry, I know it has to be done. Not only for the sake of my health but for my sanity too.
Deeply hoping also that this would be the first step to help me finally truly have closure with other people outside of my small dwindled inner circle.
Besides I got a look on the bright side of this, my uncle was no longer with me so I don't have to fear for anybody here meeting a gruesome end for speaking about it. Even if it means I have to, metaphorically speaking, crack open that heavily guarded shell with my own bare hands so I wouldn't hold back, so be it.
