Chapter 17 teal: Escape from Atlas
It was a quiet night in the city of atlas, everyone was enjoying their mudane lives for the night. Though in the schnee manor something was stirring it seems as two ice queens where making their gateway from atlas. In the hallways of the grand manor weiss alongside eria were walking down the halls of the hall. They both had their suitcases at the ready since eria was planning on leaving to search for their friends.
Calida, willow and carmen were walking front of them. While lazuli stayed in the back watching their back for any guards that might turn the corner. Though weiss still hesitated to leave her brother behind but willow reassured her everything will be fine.
"Okay so how exactly are we going to be leaving the manor?"calida quietly asked
"We'll be heading to the first floor library of the manor"willow whispered back to their confusion
"Why can't we take the front door?"eria asked quietly why they couldn't just leave the easy way.
Carmen shook her head"can't jacque got guards stationed everywhere only a few are loyal to willow. Most will follow jacque orders no matter what"She queitly reminded
"Also if they see my little girl out and about. They'll just lock her back up inside her room forever until she follows his rules. The library hosues a secret pasageway to some tunnelts that lead out of the house. My father bless his soul installed them many years ago"willow replied quietly
"Why did he have a bunch of secret passages?"lazuli questioned quietly because why exactly would nicholas schnee need them
Weiss smiled a little as she dragged her suitcase"my grandafther like to have an emergency exit for the staff incse anything happened. Along with that scarring the guest for fun sometimes. When me and my siblings played hide and seek with him. He used them"weiss replied quietly
She recalled how at times her and whitley couldn't find their grandfather. After searching forever for him, he mirscualousy appear out of thin air. They wondered how he did it and he told them it was magic. But a few years later they found out it was secret hidden passageways in their home which made her appreciate how he made thing interesting at times.
The group continued their way as they moved across the man entrance of the house. As they did their footsteps clacked on the ground as they soon reached a hallway. But once they did they need to separate. Thouhg willow, carmen and calida needed to split from them.
"Okay we'll head to the secret passage to open it, you three head that way. The way we need to take usually has guard stationed their"willow warned queitly as they nodded and then separated
As they walked through the halls willows was worried that jacque may find out if their planning on escaping. Though she wondered how extactly lazuli ws going to get them out of atlas. From her guest maybe by airship, probably that pilot from her guest.
"So willow dear what made you two divorce even?"calida asked because she was rather curious
"Really? You asking that now at all times right now lady?"carmen qeustioned annoyed as her tail slightly flicked.
Willow chuckled"its fine carmen, i might as well tell her since she knows about what he done. "Willow replied as she took a deep breath explaining it
"You see about eight years ago i was still happily in love with the man at the time. But around the time of weiss ten or eleventh birthday if i recall correctly. Something troubling was told to me by my little girl it seems"willow sady said
Calida placed a hand on willow shoulder as they continued to walk for a while"let me guess it was something that caused your divorce"calida said knowignly as willow nodded
"Appernently back then several people were anger at my so called husband. Because lately their were several news labor workers in those mines we have. But i stupidly thought at first they agreed to work their. In reality they didn't because he took them from their homes"willow conitneud as they kept walking through the hall.
"After my little girl birthday she tells me something horrible. Back then he took them on small business trips from time to time. But apperently from waht she told me he was running faunus black markets it seems"willow added to caldia shock a little.
"That bastard is the one running those markets. It does explain how you have soo many workers in those mines"Calida said as carmen sighed rubbing her side which calida noticed. She quickly relied she might have been one of those workers in the mines.
"Yep…alot of people get taken from their homes. Including me"carmen sadly said as she pulled her shirt up to reveal her side of a ten point snowflake with the SDC logo. She was very toned on her side to her surpsie it seems. But she relized that willow might ahve saved the girl from more abuse.
Willow sighed heavily"right when i found out i confront him about it. He tried to desusde me at first but he kept pushing. Then i eventually filed for divorce trying to gain full custody of my kids. But he has very powerful friends, we both agreed on shared custody at first. I also was allowed to live in my house because i praticual owned it. But now i'm going to working hard on fighting against him"willow finished with a detemriend look.
Carmen chuckled"yeah though still can't thank weiss and whitley for watching my back up here. Seriosuly at first i thought i was dealing with their father. But…they were actually nice"carmen said as her tail flicked a little.
Calida though noticed the girl smiling very brightly and looked at willow who shared this. Because the women knew that meant the girl liked one of the schnee siblings it seems.
"Oh anything else maybe a crush on one of them?"Calida knowingly asked the horse faunus who blushed.
"No..no..i can't date my employer that wrong even if hes cute"carmen replied but went wide eyed relziing her mistakes at what she just said. Then she kept trying to quietly clear it up as willow sighed smiling.
"Look i'm not like jacque beliving my children shouldn't date certain people. But my son does have a interest in you. I give you my blessing if you wanna ask him out"willow gave the horse faunus her blessing
Carmen just nerovuly rubbed her forearm"uhh sure though uh…let rescue weiss then discuss this later. Please"she begged as they agreed on that continuing their way to the secret passage way.
While with the other three thye downt he hall to meet the group at the secret passage. Though as they walked across the hall weiss relized they be passing her father study. He may be in their right now which worried her.
e careful up ahead is his study"she quietly warned
"Don't worry we'll be quiet then once we pass it were home free"eria quilt replied
"Yeah but watch out for good old jimmy"lazuli added queitly with disgust for the general.
The two ice queens wondered if the thief had some hatred directed toward the general. Though why wouldn't she because he been hounding her father since he was a criminal and theif. Along with slandering her cousin name as a monster.
Though as the three made their way across the hallway where jacque office was. As they did the crashing of glass could be heard making the three stop dead in their tracks. Then as they did a familair atlas general voice could be heard.
"You need to control yourself!"ironwood shouted slightly muffled
"What are you blabbering about me controlling myself? Do you hear what your saying?"jacque voice could be heard muffled
"I'm basing everything on the report from your daughter and what happened early at the charity event"ironwood voice could be heard
The three looked at each other as they decided to see what the two where talking about. The three quickly piled up near the door making sure not to let out a peep. They could hear what was going on in the room. The door here weren't the best sometimes when obescuring noise.
The acne changed to jacque study as he sat behind his desk with a drink close by. The drink presumably a glass of whiskey or alcohol. He had his hands clasped togheter while a certain atlas general had his hands on the man desk. He was seething in rage it seems from what he heard early.
"A daughter you stole from me!"jacque retorted loudly pointing a finger at him.
Ironwood sighed"your daughter is old enough to make her own decision, you can't control her until she dies. Along with that she been putting alot of work into protecting our kingdom and all of remnant. She chose this life, and with her expertise i say she could be ACE OPs even"irownood complimented the eldest daughter of the schnee family.
"Really? Because along with that their are more pressing matters right now to discuss. Starting with your accusation and apparent lunacy!"jacque shouted as a thud could be heard under his desk. Perusmably his foot or leg kicking his desk in rage,
Then he got up from his seat as he grabbed his drink taking a sip of it. It was empty as the ice clinked back to the bottom of the glass. Then he made his way to a globe of remnant as james continued to talk.
"Me? From what i heard at that charity event you've been abusing your kids. I've known about you and willow divorce for six years now. But i held my tongue as a sign of good faith"ironwood replied
Outside weiss was surrpsied that he knew about their divorce for that long. She wondered what else the atlas general was hiding from them and what he knew. The other two seemed to have the same though as they cotninued to listen.
"Now you believing the rambling of a drunk women"jacque said as he walked over lifting the globe up.
It was revealed to be a secret stash of alcohol, a wide variety of bottles where their. Along with a small bucket of ice in their with a small scope to put the ice in his drinks. Several shot glasses could be seen. Jacque studied the bottles for a bit before grabbing some whsikey.
He placed his glass down as he popped the cork as ironwood continued to rattle the dust company owner.
"Then how did she know about the divorce hmm? "He asked waiitng for how he was going to slide past that question
Though jacque poured the amber liquid into his glass until it reached a sufficient amount. He then placed the bottle down placing the cork back in it. After that he walked toward a nearby fireplace with his refilled drink in hand.
Then he stard into it as he spoke taking sips while ironwood talked"maybe she trying to start problems with my business. Me and her husband companies are rivals"he replied trying to dissuade him but ironwood didn't buy it.
"Bullshit jacque, maybe i should remove full custody on your kids and do a proper investigation. After that maybe lock you up with a cell next to all the worst crooks of atlas to mistral, vacou and vale!"ironwood shouted in rage
Outside weiss went wide eyed at this smiling happy that the atlas general wasn't buying it. Which menat that he could go to jail for crimes. But she still wanted to go find her teammates and friends. Eria listened intively happy a little the man would do something like that. Though lazuli rolled her eyes in disgusts groaning internally as they continued to listen.
"Oh is that so?"jacque replied turning to the atlas general shaking his glass a little with an arm behind his then slammed his hand on the man desk as jacque stared at him. The dust company owner took another sip of his drink as the general cotninued
"For good reason! We don't know what their capable of, if the reports of one being sighted in the anima is true. Along with the ones in vale one of which being the one known as alpha being their. The one that was seen recently here known as omicron as well taking your are still several of them out their."he started as jacque listened to the man.
"But along with that winter sent me several reports from the last couple of gotten word on sudden spikes in weapon and dust trade. Along with those grimm hybrids going around causing havoc. Along with the knucklduster, a cult apparently, and the fang. Someone making a play soon and i'm worried leo can't stop them"ironwood added
"Oh its' probably nothing just some gang warfare in the woods need to get a grip do you even trust anyone?"jacque smugly questioned waving his hand at the general.
Ironwood sighed"the only ones i trust are oz and a select few. With him gone that list has gone down, but i'm doing what best for our kingdom. Our people need protection from these threats on the horizon. We've already closed out borders but i'm going to pull back any other remaining troops in other contientns soon. Without the council permissions if need be."he said as jacque went wide eyed at that declaration.
"You mean without your permission?"he asked
"If thats what need to be done then it shall, though right now your not on my good side. I'm going to go check on your kids before i leave. "he started as he made his way to the door.
Though as they did the three went wide eyed as they jearing him approach. Outside the door they panicked a little. Though eria thought quickly as she used her semblance to freeze the lock shut. As it did the lock couldn't move as it rattled for a bit. Then as they stood their a bang came from it. The three looked toward each other as they booked it to the library.
But in the lirbary right now was the other waitng for the three. Willow was worried sick right now as she made a stop to a small room to grab something. That being asmall box she held, carmen was standing guard with them. Along witht he exit to the secret tunnel being opened right now which was near the corner wall.
"Where are they do you think they've been caught?"calida asked
"No they couldn't have, where are they"willow said worried because if this failed then things would get very bad.
"They probably had to avoid the guards patrolling the area"carmen reminded since she knew the guard patrol route.
Though their worries were quickly washed away as the three soon came into the felt relived happy her daughter didn't get caught. Along with willow who smiled at her daughter as they walked over smiling.
"Their you are we thought you got caught by the guards"carmen said
"What took so long?"calida questioned
"Yes since you took so long we thought for the worst actually"willow added
"Well uh we evasdroped on jacque and ironwood talking"weiss replied not really calling him her father anymore.
"Yeah and uh your gonna wanna hear this"lazuli added to the confusion it seems.
But soon enough they ehard voice apporahcing with several footsteps.
"Where is your wife because i need to speak with her?"ironwood voice could be heard sounding distance
"I don't know general,but relax old friend its nothing to worry about. "Jacque voice could be heard as it got closer.
Carmen then looked toward the five shoving them into the secret passage as she quietly closed it"you guys go i'll distract them"She said as weiss wanted to stop her but nodded thanking her. The horse faunus smiled as she closed the entrance. Then immediately ironwood along with jacque came into the room to see her in ehre.
"Excuse me miss, have you seen willow around?"ironwood asked
"Yes, where is she because apparently james here wants to talk to her beast"jacque added but received a glare from ironwood as he backed off.
"Oh them she took weiss outside on the manor grounds for a walk. They should be back soon, she needed time alone"carmen replied
"Hmm okay i want to meet her in twenty minutes"ironwood ordered but politely it seems as the horse faunus nodded. Then she followed them as they walked off to somewhere else. But carmen knew where she was going actually and didn't regret pissing jacque off.
inside the hidden passage door quickly closed as they made their descent. The tunnel was long and dark it seems as they wondered where this would lead. Lights were fixed onto the wall as it light the way for their travel through the unknown.
"Okay from here we'll travel for about twenty minutes"willow said as they ebgan to walk while they discuss what they overheard early in jacque office.
"What did you hear in that bastard office early by the way?"calida asked
"Apperenlty their going to be brining back some of the soldiers around the contient that are still lingering around"lazuli naswered as willow sighed
"Which means your sister will be back…she'll be very upset your not here"willow replied looking at weiss.
"Sorry but i need to find my teammates, i need to make sure their okay"weiss reaffirmed her mission as willow nodded.
"What else did you hear?"calida asked as eria smiled a little because it be something that willow be very excited to hear.
"Apperently ironwood is also going to inveisgate the suspicious of child abuse from the party early."eria said as calida and willow went wide eyed. Thought he schnee mother smiled a little because it seemed that her bastard of a husband may be put in jail for his crimes. Calida smiled a little happy that someone like him will be locked up.
After a bit of time they reached the exit of the secret passage. They were on the street level on atlas which was surprisng a little because they were now near the side of the schnee manor. Though they still needed to head to lazuli meet up point for leaving the city.
"Alright where to next?"weiss asked
"Yeah how exactly are we going to be leaving atlas if the military patrols the skies"eria said gesutirng toward a couple ships that flew by high in the night sky.
"Oh falk will be giving us a lift out of here. Had him prep the ship back at our hideout"lazuli replied
"Are you talking about that guy she danced with at the beacon dance?"Eria asked as lazuli nodded
"Ah yes the boy my daughter danced with back in beacon. Though i'll probably still talk with his mother. Who knows maybe you two can expand the schnee bloodline"willow playfully teased
Weiss blinked a few times before covering her face blushing"ughh please not right now this is so embarrassing"Weiss said nerovusly because she didn't want that thought in her head.
The heiress did find the pliot to be somewhat attractive at times. But she still worries that he's after her money not her heart. Though maybe on this trip she could ask him about or try to at least.
"Okay but how exactly will we say weiss has been kidnapped?"calida asked as willow smiled at this.
"Well i told carmen early to tell jacque me and weiss were walking around outside. Though i'll slip backinside then put on an act saying how a few men broke in. then kidnapped her from me using a sleeping dart to knock me out. "Willow said as lazuli handed her one of her sleeping bolts.
"Be warned these things are strong"lazuli warned the potency of those sleeping darts.
"Alright but we need to go right now, jacue will get very suscious along with the general"calida reminded as they began to leave but willow stopped them.
"I agree though before you leave i want to give you something"willow said holding out the small box in her hands.
"Whats this?"weiss asked
"It belong to my grandmother. I thought it be appropriate to pass it on to you"willow said as she handed it to her daughter. She opened it finding a pair of silver earrings in them that seem to fit on her ear. Though they were in a loop that had runes embedded on them.
"Wait is this an aritfact?"Eria asked
"Yes, these earring are what my father and grandmother called the Rings of Schnee. From what i was told an ancestor of ours used these to give a small boost to your aura without damaging it. I rarely used them myself but since you'll be out their i thought…you find a better use for them. "Willow said
Weiss closed the box as she placed inside her suitcase then emrbaced her mother
"Thank you"she simply said. Williow held her for a minute before letting her daughter go.
"Okay you four best be on your way. I should walk around for a bit before returning back home"willow said as they separated
They nodded as the four decided to continue their was through the streets of before they did lazuli quickly changed into her casual outfit she wears. To avoid any prying eyes on a girl in a full bodysuit. They made their way through town as they traveled to an old looking area of the place. It front of them was a temporary hideout for lazuli and falk to camp out in.
Once their she opened the door as they stepped inside, once inside eria looked around noticing how the place had a small hanger. Along with it being close to the edge which meant easier exit to avoid the atlas patrol hopefully.
"Here we now falk should have the ship ready for takeoff right now"lazuli stated but looked around because he should have heard her come in.
"Alright but..where is he?"weiss questioned where the pliot was hoping he didn;t skip town.
They kept walking around for a bit wondering where he was. But then they could hear the sound of footsteps walking on metal. Along with a set of voice being heard some unfamilair to the group except for one.
"Spill it kid where is your other accomplishes?"nancy voice could be heard
"Yeah because don't try lying your way out of this, we saw your leader swan leave this hanger"dective knight voice could be heard as a groan could be heard from inside the ship.
"I don't know who your talking about johnny law"falk voice could be heard as the group were suprised by this. Which made them wonder if someone came after lazuli and her pilot friend. But that made eria wonder if yumi and yahto were with her.
"Umm are those two associated of yours or enemies?"calida asked
"Yeah because it sounded like their integrating uh falk"weiss added with worrie if he was okay.
They looked to see lazuli with an annoyed face as she rubbed her eyes not wanting to deal with this right now. Because two certain detectives were inside her ship and she hoped they be in mistral by now.
"Nope just two nosy dectives from mistral"lazuli groaned as she readied wisp and stinger. Alongside eria who brought out tudnra because ntohing was stopping her from finding her twin sister.
But as they made their way forward they were met by nancy walking off the ship ramp. She had her magnum out then looked at the four. The bunny faunus ear twitched a little as she quickly tried to apperhend lazuli.
"Yo partner we got..arghhh"nancy begun but lazuli palm striked her then twisted her arm behind her back as she grunted. The other three walked into view of the ship ramps though lazuli frowned because a certain detective was holding her dumb pliiot friend in cuffs strapped to a chair.
"Oh hey feathers sorry..guy caught me after i finsihed preparing my baby for takeoff."falk said smiling as he glanced at the group surprised. He looked at weiss here as the two exchanged looks. He smiled at her before she blushed slightly turning away but waved a little. Nancy noticed this wondering what that was.
"So the infamous swan kidnapping people now. I thought after that slaver deal with sort of stop. You were going to do soem good"dective knight stated but looked at without her mask on. And he felt like he seen her somewhere before.
"Yeah…though uhh is it me or have we seen this chick somewhere before parter?"nancy asked as her ears flopped over slightly.
"Yeah, but you've just added more to the list of your crimes right now"the dective stated pulling hsi revolver out aiming at it at falk. Who gulped nervously he knew they had electric dust bullet but they hurt like hell.
"Uhh really what would that be dear detectives?"lazuli mockingly asked
"Didn't you steal several large schnee dust company shipments back in vale"calida started as lazuli slightly shook her head.
"Along with stealing several pieces of art work around vale, mistral, vacou and atlas"eria coldy said
"Well…you see"lazuli tried to find a way to make her look good in this situation.
"Also your associated with roman torchwich someone whos been a wanted criminal all across vale. Though he aint that bad anymore i heard…but he still a crook"nancy said as lazuli squeezed on her arm tight growling.
"Don't talk shit about my dad"lazuli warned as the two dectives were surprised by this. Though weiss was slowly walked into the ship. As detective knight was shocked to see the schnee heiress here. But weiss was looking at the wall on the lazuli ship.
"Oh great you kidnapped the schnee heirness ughh seriously this aint you kid"the decitve groaned rubbing his eyes
"Yeah..though your that guy kid…who would have thought. But what with the freaky wall of evidence your next big score?"nancy asked which confused eira who looked at weiss. Right now weiss was looking at the wall in horror as she dropped her suitcase on the ship floor. She covered her mouth shaking her head.
"Umm what in the name of remnant is all this?"she questioned as eria walked over inside the ship along with caldia. While lazuli kept her hold on nancy pushing her forward. Eria then went wide eyed seeing a large wall of pictures, maps and familair faces on them. She could see some where lazuli siblings and those two friends. It said vance was in vacou while the other three were unknown.
But their was also a family picture it seems with roman torchwich and his kid. Along with nadia and hers sitting at a table. It looked very old because it showed four younger kids and one teen girl. She knew who they all were but what shocked her were the medical scans.
"What…what is all this?"calida questioned
"Wait miss hayley? What the hell are you doing here you should be argus"nancy asked
"Yeah along with that…weren't we the ones assigned on her missing kids case?"dective knight asked as nancy nodded but was still in shock at some of those pictures.
"I'm here for the charity event and uhh well…"calida tried to explaining it but she couldn't but was more intrigued with this wall of pictures.
Eria though walked forward looking at the medical scan. It showed an x-ray of someone with some weird blob on their spine it seems. But their was another one that creeped her out which was someone on a surgery table.
Their back was cut open as it showed their skin being folded to the side. But their was something fused to their spine. It looked to be a grimm as it looked bug lie. It had jet black skin with its boide being thin like. Though a bone mask could be seen near the top of it as a pair of crimson eyes could be seen.
"What is that? Is that a grimm…inside someone bodie?"eria questioned scared as lazuli sighed letting nancy go to her surprise. But the thief took her weapon as she was unarmed.
"Okay what up with you kidnapping the heirness to the schnee dust company"nancy questioned
"Yeah, never took you for a slaver kid. Thought you were looking for your sister…but you were at robyn place. That coffee girl"decitve knight said as lazuli sighed.
"Yep that me…coffee girl who just trying to find her family. Which thankfully was found detective, but guess the jig it up"lazuli somberly said because the detectives were expecting a grand chase. Along with expecitng her to try and fight back then slap the cuffs on her. But they just looked at a girl standing their with sadness in her eyes.
"Excuse me what the hell is that?! Because i'm kinda freaked out grimm like that exist"Calida reminded as the detectives were curious as well.
"She right we come here bust your partner in crime, then we see this colliage of weird shit. "Nancy replied as she crossed her arms.
Lazuli scoffed as she walked over casually to the wall gesturing to it"oh this just info me and skyguy gathered over the last month. Mostly looking for where my family is, my dumb fish eating brother and little sister. Who i figured out visiting my aunt…porbably breaking the news of Z death"lazuli sadly begun as falk was happy to hear they found neo which meant yahto was with her.
"Though what with the surgery stuff, ct scan, x-ray. Looks like someone was grafting grimm into someone spine"dectivce knight stated which made eria go wide eyed. She just shook her head relizing what that meant. That day when she saw his back move during the final exams.
"Its…that what they did to zane isn't it. They put a grimm inside him…that what watts experiments were"eria sadly said as it meant he was a goner it seems. The detectives went wide eyed at that name and what she said.
"Wait is..is that what in each of the grimm knights?"weiss questioned scared
Nancy was shocked by this shaking her head"but what the hell does it do?"she asked as lazuli answered for her.
"Oh these their known as chimera grimm. Their fused to someone spine, it works better if it directly fused onto it. That why my cousin has that scar…they put a dam grimm in his back!"lazuli shouted in anger
The detective soften his gaze"let me guess the thing can take control of someone bodie"he asked kwowingly as she nodded
"Sweetie that would mean…your friend might have already been gone"calida stated but she was quickly proven wrong.
"Uhh actually we found out those syringe he took helped nullify the grimm in his back. Sort of like sleeping pill"falk said still bound in the chair.
"How did you find that out? You two don't exactly looked like researcher"nancy said but detective knight slowly walked over toward the board. He was rather impressed with it that she got all this in a month. It could help solve one of his cases right now. Something the public wants to know about those grimm knights.
"How did you get all this kid?"he questioned cupping his chin.
"I infiltrated an atlas camp back in vale they had large amount of info sort of. Only stuff that carmine alcus knew that being the grimm and how many knights their was"lazuli said
"Wait that a genetics expert in atlas, she went missing ten years ago. Along with her mentor merlot but she was recently found seven years ago"nancy stated
"Same time gap as my cousin death being faked. They took him and several people doing sick expriemnts on them. I'm guessing atlas has been trying to gather more info before they tell the public. But that all they got carmine wasn't a main researcher who had access to the files"lazuli said annoyed
Though as the eldest daughter of roman torchwich sat their. Eria looked at the board noticing two people in the center of the boards. That being bonnie thanotos and adam tarrus with crossbow bolts in their head.
"Why are adam and bonnie in the center?"weiss questioned
"The terrosit leader of the white fang"calida sked as lazuli nodded
"I'm going after him and bonnie their the ones who roped my dad into that dam deal. If we didn't get involved i wouldn't have lost two people i care about."lazuli stated with anger.
Detective knight scratched his chin"hmm that kid was on one of the teams during the vytal fesitvl. Though no records showed up for her and their team. Which is strange, apparently they were from haven"the dective said as eria went wide eeyd.
That would mean that maybe rogue did go to haven. She said how she was going to hunt their team down. Her sister is smart despite her antics which meant she might have guessed their transcript were fake. Along with mercury and emerald saying they worked for someone known as salem. They must be her servants.

"That apparently jacque schnee has been abusing his kids. Along with finding the possible whereabout on rogue hayley. Their also info on what the knights are, but…we'll keep that closed off. If we do that everyone in the kingdoms will freak out which in turn causes panic"nancy added as the two detectives started to walk off the ship as they followed them.
"Along with a girl just trying to find her family hoping their alright. A girl i hope won't turn up a murderer. And does the right thing reuniting two sisters and saving a girl from her abuser"dective knight said looking at lazuli smiling.

Eria returned the embrace"I will, because I'm going to tear her a new one for running away"she replied coldly as they sat in the embrace for a bit until letting go.

But unknown to them in the anima, where two mysterious figures. The first a women on top of a bug like grimm cloaked hiding her appearance. The second a faunus sitting by his makeshift campsite. Regretting all the blood he shed for his cause, wondering how he'll make up for it.
Seems lazuli hung up her mantle as the infamous thief swan now to do some good ending a grand chase. Along with that learning that the general might be investigating these abuse claims. Their also the rest of them figuring about the chimera next chapter!
