Chapter 3: THE CODE IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE CODE !

The Jedi Council Chamber was silent as Revan's words echoed in the minds of the councilors.

They had been challenged, their beliefs questioned, their failures laid bare. Now, Revan was proposing a new path, a radical departure from the Jedi Code they had followed for centuries.

"Your rule of no attachment is a fallacy"

Revan began, his voice steady and confident.

" Sentient beings are defined and empowered by emotions. Yes, some emotions can lead to the dark side, but others can prevent a fall. You forbid love so you have no defense to face hate. Joy should be controlled not overly expressed so when anger comes, you crumble. The key is not to forbid attachment, which is equivalent to taking the easy way out, but to teach emotional control, healthy emotional expression, and what to do when one is overwhelmed by grief, jealousy, fear... "

He paused, letting his words sink in. The councilors looked at each other, their faces reflecting a mix of shock, confusion, and contemplation.

" I will now give you the new tenants of the jedi order. You should all get into meditative pose to ponder its deep meaning."

All masters eventually put themselves in a meditative trance with, for some, a forceful nudge from the force to follow along.

Revan then offered a new code, a code that embraced balance and acknowledged the complexities of emotions.

His voice rang in the room like a bell and was felt deeply in the force by all councilors:

" I am a servant of the Force, a guardian of balance.

I strive for knowledge, acknowledging that ignorance is part of the journey.

I embrace passion, aiming for serenity.

I acknowledge that emotions are natural and should be expressed in a balanced way for peace to be achieved.

I uphold harmony in the midst of chaos.

I understand that death is a part of life, and in death, there is the Force.

Light and dark exist together, but darkness or light must not prevail over one another.

I am a jedi, a beacon in the darkness, a champion of balance in the Force."

Revan's words were like a balm, soothing the councilors' troubled minds.

They felt a sense of peace, a clarity they had not felt in a long time. The Force was with them, guiding them towards a new path, a path of balance.

When the councilors opened their eyes and looked at each other, their faces reflected a newfound determination. They knew the path ahead would be difficult, but they were ready to face the challenges.

They were ready to follow the will of the Force, to embrace balance, and to guide the Jedi Order towards a new era.

But before they could start planning, Revan spoke again delivering another punch.

"To do all this, we will need to separate from the Republic and Coruscant. The Jedi belong to the galaxy and its people, not to the Republic."
