Once the Burners had escaped from the soldiers and drones, they were sitting around an abandoned building in order to hide.
"Alright, start talking," said Mike to Julie.
"Are you really Kane's daughter?" asked Chuck.
"I am, and I really did mean to tell you sooner than this but it was never a good time," said Julie while leaning against a wall, her arms crossed before her as she did so.
"So, you have been a double spy this whole time?!" asked Texas with a shocked expression at the same time he took a fighting stance.
"No, I've been on your side this whole time," said Julie.
"I grew to hate my dad after my mom died and I learnt what he was really like, so when I heard about the Burners I decided to find you guys and join," she said.
"What do you mean?" asked Dutch.
"Do any of you know about the cancer incident from several years ago, the one where thousands died?" asked Julie.
"Kane covered it up but we know a little bit about it," said Chuck.
"Kaneco had come out with a drug to fight cancer which was supposed to be a perfect cure," said Mike.
"But it made the already existing cancers stronger, to the point that the people died within a few days of taking the medicine," said Dutch.
"My mom was one of the first patients," said Julie.
"You're kidding," said Chuck, which got a glare from her.
"Sorry, it's just hard to believe that's all," he said while holding his hands up.
"Kane told me that the cancer was worse than what the medication could help with, and I believed him for so long not knowing that the medication was what caused her death," said Julie.
"When did you find out it was a lie?" asked Mike.
"The anniversary of her death, three years later," said Julie.
"I had snuck into his office to surprise him and before I came out of my hiding spot he started a call with a scientist," she said.
"Where he admitted to the truth," said Texas.
"Yeah, it turns out that the medication was created to kill anyone with cancer while protecting those who did not have any," said Julie, her hands trembling as she spoke.
"He killed my mother and all of those people just because they were already sick," she said.
"Alright, I think it's time for you to get some revenge, Jules," said Mike.
