Every TD contestant from gens 1-3 were at a reunion party hosted by none other than Chris Mclean. Things were going about as much as you'd expect. Owen and Izzy gobbling down all the food, Noah trying to get in some food without losing a finger, Geoff making out with Bridgette (lucky bastard), Jo and Brick arm wrestling, Dave making sure everyone sanitizes, and of course, Amy bossing around Sammy. Ever since the end of Pahkitew Island, Amy has been even meaner to her sister. Probably didn't help Sammy that she made her eat a dangerous apple (not like we weren't all cheering about it). Sammy was far too timid to stand up to her sister now after what happened. Luckily for Sammy though, everyone now knew how terribly Amy treated her and stood up for her. What surprised Sammy, snd probably everyone the most was that Duncan, the delinquent, was the ring leader behind standing up to Amy. Nobody knew why, but Duncan seemed pretty pissed off with how Amy trented her sister and told her off about the same way Lindsay told off Heather in season one. Too embarrassed to make a comeback, Amy glared and Duncan before turning away.

It was now the next morning. Sammy was pretty use to waking up early (mostly due to Amy waking her up to make her breakfast) and decided to go outside to watch the sun rise. Seeing as it was pretty early, she had expected to be the only one up. What surprised her was that Duncan was already up and outside sitting in a lounge chair. Remembering how he stood up fir her yesterday, she decided to go up to him.

"Umm... morning Duncan." She timidly greeted. Duncan turned his head to look up at her.

"Morning cheerleader." He greeted. "You gonna sit down?" He gestured to the chair next to his. Sammy took the invite and sat down on the chair. The two sat in a comfortable silence for awhile just enjoying the rising sun. Eventually, Sammy broke the silence.

"I didn't take you for someone who'd watch the sun rise." She said looking over at Duncan.

"I know it seems out of character for me, but when you've spent more time behind bars than you have at your own home, you tend to start appreciating the finer things. Seeing the sun rise is just a nice reminder that I'm a free man." Duncan said, not taking his eyes off of the sun.

Sammy can understand what he means. She can only imagine how little time he spent outside when he's arrested. Course she's never been arrested and doesn't plan on it, but she can still see where he's coming from.

"What about you? Came out here to see the sun too?" He asked.

"Yeah. I'm use to getting up early thanks to Amy." Sammy said before speaking again. "That reminds me, I never got the chance to thank you for standing up for me yesterday."

"Meh, it's no problem. She shouldn't just be treating her own sister like that." The ex con said.

"Not that I'm not grateful for it, but why did you stand up for me?" The nice twin asked.

"Well, I can kinda understand your situation." Duncan told her. "My brothers are practically the first images in my parents eyes. I'm pretty much the odd ball out. Anytime something happens, I'm always to blame. My father would always tell me why I can't be more like my brothers."

As Sammy listened and the two conversed, she started to understand Duncan a bit more. He's not just a rebellious convict, he's a free spirit guy who just wants to be his own person. In a way, they were kind of alike. Sammy just wants to be known as Sammy, not as Samey, not as Amy's twin, just Sammy. About half an hour later, the sun was up in the sky, and the sounds of chitter chatter inside the resort can be heard.

"Well, looks like the others are about up. Let's say we go grab some breakfast before Owen eats it all?" Duncan said getting up and offering a hand, which Sammy took.

"Breakfast sounds great right." Sammy said. "And Duncan, thank you. It really means a lot to me to have someone on my side for a change."

Duncan dropped his usual smirk for a small smile. "No problem Sammy. Anytime your sister gives you trouble, just come find me." He said as the two made their way inside. Sammy really appreciated Duncan. Her sister was the devil's bitch, but Duncan was like the brother she never had, and one she much rather prefer.

I was doing this for a challenge in a TD discord season I'm in and decided to post this because why not.
