Janine and Dimitri walk around the corner of Tasha's house doing a sweep, checking for anything out of place. When Dimitri felt the magic tingle on his right wrist coming from the bond, he realized Jasmine was close by. Dimitri remembers what his grandmother told him. The element and the keeper would know they were near each other at any time. Reach down and pull his sleeve, showing the mark of the oak tree. Janine asked, "What is that?" When it's their turn to make music, they turn around to see a mustang come around the bend from behind the line of trees. Janine said "They had a good time." Vasilisa said, "Jasmine and Christian." I ran over to both of them, giving them both big hugs. Rose said, "It's good to see both again." Adrian said, "It's about time they arrived at the party, Little Nova and Christian." Vasilisa said, "They must be exhausted after your long journey." Christian and Jasmine looked at each other and then back at Vasilisa. Dimitri caught that minor detail and knew that both of them were hiding a secret. That was going to change.
Tasha came out of the kitchen and said, "Christian, it's nice of you to come to visit the house." Christian turned to Tasha and said, "Please do not disrespect my guardian in front of me." Dimitri opened the door and walked inside. Dimitri said, "Christian, This will be your room while staying here. Jasmine's bedroom will be down the hall from yours. " Dimitri set a Christian bag on the bed. Dimitri was walking out of Christian's bedroom and closing the door behind them.
"Dimitri said, "This way! Jasmine and show where you are sleeping. " Both Dimitri and Jasmine walked down the hall to their rooms. Dimitri opened the door and pushed Jasmine inside. Dimitri invited her inside and closed the door behind him. Jasmine turned around, looked at Dimitri, and said, "What the hell? Did you mind your manners while living with Natasha? " Dimitri said, "Shut up! Dimitri put Jasmine's bag on the chair next to the bed.
Dimitri reached over and grabbed Jasmine, pulling her to him, leaning down, and started kissing Jasmine with passion, love, and desire. I will inform Guardian Hathaway, and I will make arrangements so that both get your blood to make sure that Tasha doesn't find out. Jasmine said, "Good! I don't have to kick her ass around her neck. Then you don't have to wear her like a fuzzy hat. " Christian, Rose, and Dimitri busted out in laughter. Christian said, "I could see you doing that."
(Dinner room)
Rose, Christian, Jasmine, and Dimitri walked downstairs, finding the table all set with dinner. Janine walked out of the kitchen with forks and knives. Vasilisa said, "Come and let's eat dinner together like a family." Jasmine's seat is behind Christian, and Dimitri sits down at the table with Christian on Jasmine's left and Dimitri on the right side. Tasha served a chicken lasagna with a creamy white sauce.
Vasilisa started praying. Jasmine used her fork to look at the chicken lasagna to check if it had tomatoes in it. Dimitri took Jasmine's fork to stop picking at her food. Jasmine said, "Give it back." Everyone started eating dinner, and Dimitri gave Jasmine's fork back to her. Jasmine took her fork back from Dimitri and started looking at the chicken lasagna. Dimitri asked, "What are you doing?" Jasmine said, "I'm checking to see if there is any tomato inside of it." But Jasmine didn't find any.
Jasmine ate a few bites. When she felt that something was wrong, she began experiencing difficulty breathing, coughing, and throat swelling, and she shoved her plate away from her. Reach over and grab Christian's right arm. Christian turned his head to see that his best friend, Jasmine, was having trouble breathing. Jasmine started hitting her leg with her fist.
Christian said, "Jazz!" Jasmine's other hand was around her neck.
Dimitri turns his head around and views Jasmine as in trouble. A Christian understood what Jasmine was trying to say. She required her to yell, "Rose! Get Jasmine's Epi-Pen from her bag upstairs. " Rose breaks free from the table and runs upstairs to Jasmine's backpack to get her Epi-Pen. Janine jumped up from her seat and ran around the table.
Dimitri asked, "What was in the chicken lasagna?" Tasha answered, slowly. Let's see. There is chicken, cheese, flakes of tomato, herbs, and other items. Dimitri said, "Damn it, Tasha!" "Jasmine is deadly allergic to tomatoes."
Janine had grabbed Jasmine, pulled her out of the chair, and laid her on the floor. Jasmine started passing out from lack of air, and her daughter's eyes rolled back in her head. Rose said, "I have Jasmine and an EpiPen." Janine grabbed the EpiPen from Rose and moved the blue cap. I hit Jasmine in the side of the left leg with it and waited three seconds before moving it and starting to rub the area for ten seconds.
Vasilisa started crying, not knowing that Jasmine was going to live or die. Christian put his arms around Vasilisa and pulled her tight to him. Adrian had his hands on Rose's shoulders and pulled her close to him. Eddie and Adrian were surprised to discover that Jasmine was deadly allergic to tomatoes.
Tasha watched everything and thought about what was happening at her dinner table. It's beyond me how they got so worked up about tomatoes in chicken. She was thinking to herself, "You'll be dead soon, and I'll have Dimka all to myself again." You stupid bitch! "
"Janine, order" Dimitri to pick Jasmine up. We need to take Jasmine to the hospital right now. Tasha doesn't think about running. I will hunt you down and you will pay for hurting my daughter. " Tasha looked surprised that Janine would talk to her that way.
Dimitri reached down, picked Jasmine up, and pulled her to his chest. Tasha said, "Dimka!" But it was too late. Dimitri and Janine were already out the front door with Jasmine. Dimitri said, "We take Jasmine, the mustang." It is faster. "
Janine took Jasmine's keys off her belt. Janine gets into the passage side of the mustang. Dimitri handed Jasmine to her mother. Janine pulled Jasmine closer to her and worried about her baby. Dimitri grabbed the keys from Janine and ran around to the driver's seat.
Dimitri opens the driver's door and gets in. The mustang came to life. Dimitri drives Jasmine to a special wing of the hospital for Moroi and Dhampirs. Dimitri and Janine were worried about Jasmine. She knows that her life hangs in the balance between life and death. Dimitri thought to himself, "Goddamn you, Tasha." You will pay for this. We make sure you will.
