In the Frozen North, the Ninja and Sensei Wu were traveling across an icy channel on a sailboat they rented from a nearby town. Lydie, Zane and Kai kept looking out with Wu while Cole and Jay passed the time by playing 'Eye Spy'. Or at least Jay was while Cole focused on steering the ship.
"I spy something…white." Jay said, looking around.
Cole groaned tiredly, as everything around them was white, "Could you try and be quiet for once?" He asked before focusing on where they were going, "This ain't easy."
Jay stayed quiet for a moment before the Ship shook and he braced himself on the railing. "Oh, I spy something, broken." He quipped.
At the bow of the ship Kai was pacing around, trying to keep warm while Zane kept looking out with Wu on the figure head in a crane stance. Lydie looked at Kai knowing what was going through his mind, "Still worried about your sister?" She asked.
"Yeah, it's been days and I don't know what Garmadon is doing to her." Kai said as he gave a worried frown.
"Don't worry Kai, we'll save her, I promise." Lydie told him with a confident smile.
Kai gave a sigh and held his hands together. "If Sensei knows the way to the next golden weapon, why isn't he steering the ship?" He pointed out while turning to Wu who was still meditating, "We've been drifting aimlessly for miles."
"Sensei's wisdom far exceeds my own." Zane spoke up.
"He's been a mystery since the day we met." Lydie commented with a shrug.
"The most powerful move in Spinjitzu can only be accomplished when all four elements combine." Wu said as he then jumped and did a twirl as he did some stances on deck. "Earth, Ice, Fire, Lighting." He said as he resumed his crane stance.
"Um, what happens when all of them are combined?" Jay asked, walking up to them.
Wu turns to him, "The Tornado of Creation," He answers before twirling his hands and pulling out a cup, "The ability to create something, out of nothing."
Lydie then thought of something, "What about my Element? Where does it fit in?" She asked in a thoughtful expression.
"The Element of Darkness is the opposite of creation, while it may bring destruction, upon the ashes it can give birth to even greater creation." Wu answered as he crushes his cup only to wave his hand and pulls out completely repaired but with white markings.
"Whoa." Lydie said in awed.
Kai then started twirling, trying to mimic the moves Wu did before the Sensei turned to the fire ninja. "No Kai. If done incorrectly, it will lead to disastrous consequences." He warns him.
Kai doesn't look bothered though, "Disastrous consequences, sure like what?" He asked sarcastically.
Lydie smirked and leaned close to him, "Oh I don't know, maybe nothing except maybe your, Soul?" She guessed ominously into his ear.
"What?!" Kai asked in panic before their ship crashed as they fell on the deck floor as their sails were now completely frozen.
"Uh, wasn't me." Cole said with a shrug.
"Did I do that?" Kai asked while looking at his hands.
Wu stood up as he walked forward. "No. We are here." He said as they all looked at the Ice Temple at the base of a glacier in front of them.
"Okay, seriously, how did you find places like this to hide the weapons, Master?" Lydie asked in confusion and surprise.
"When you're the son of the First Spinjitzu Master, you tend to find a good resting place for sacred artifacts." Wu chuckled.
The Ninja leapt off the boat and walked towards the temple. Once inside, the Ninja noticed there were Skeletons frozen in blocks of ice all around them.
"Whoa. Looks like someone's already been here." Cole said in surprise.
"Looks like the Ice Dragon gave the Skulkin a Chilly Welcome." Jay joked as they walked into the weapon chamber.
Above them were the Golden Shurikens of Ice and over them with its mouth open was a white Dragon, which they knew after last time was real. "The Shurikens." Zane said in awe.
"Wait, remember what happened last time?" Kai asked, as flashes of the Earth Dragon roaring and blasting earth breath all over place went through their heads.
They look at Lydie as she gives a slight nervous chuckle. "Uh, yeah. So how about you grab the Shurkiens and I just stand wwwaaayyyy over here?" She suggested as she walked backwards a some distance from the Shurikens and her friends so the dragon doesn't see her. "Okay, you can grab them now!" She called out.
Zane nodded as he jumped up and grabbed the Shurikens, but in the process, he was frozen solid as the Ice Dragon started moving as some ice from the ceiling started falling.
The boys grabbed the frozen Zane and they ran for the exit with Lydie, screaming as the ice dragon gave chase. They escape through a narrow hall, which the ice dragon was too big to fit through as they flew through the exit and got on Zane, using him to slide down the path until they hit one of the gate posts face first, but for Zane's case, head first as the impact broke his ice prison.
"Ow." Zane groaned as they all slid to the ground.
Lydie moaned and sat up with a dazed smile and spinning eyes, "On the plus side, that went much faster than our last near-dragon-death experience." She said with her finger up.
"Heh, yeah. Yay us." Jay moaned with a dopey smile.
Once they had recovered, they returned back to the ship, "So, which weapon are we getting next, Master?" Lydie asked.
Wu brought out the map as he showed it to his pupils, "It would appear the closest weapon from here are Nunchucks of Lightning." He said.
"My turn! Awesome!" Jay said in excitement.
Lydie then looks closely at where the Nunchucks of Lighting is at. "Why is there a picture of two nunchucks, Master? Are there two pairs like the Shurkiens?" She asked.
"Not exactly, Lydie." Wu answered while the others looked confused.
Once they got to the location where the Nunchucks of Lightning is, they soon found out that the landmark is literally a giant nunchuck that is emitting electricity while debris floats around, it is known as the Floating Ruins.
"Wow, those are the biggest Nunchucks I ever saw." Jay said in surprise.
"And this used to be a habitable place, now it's only a resting place for the Nunchucks of Lightning." Lydie commented. "Ninjago is full of surprises. But don't you guys think this is a dead give away?" She asked.
"Well, if you're stupid enough to climb that in the middle of a storm, I don't think they would come here if they did notice." Kai commented with a shrug.
"True. Well, let's get climbing. Good thing we're wearing any metal." Lydie said as the Ninja started climbing the giant nunchuck.
AS they make it to the top of one of the handles, they look down and see Samukai and the Skultons following behind them.
"We are being followed." Zane said as the Ninja quickly climbed the chains.
"Let's go." Jay said as he took the lead as the others followed.
Jay climbed to the top while the others held onto the side as Jay saw the Nunchucks of Lightning floating in front of him.
"Heh, alright!" Jay cheered as he grabbed the Nunchucks and showed them to his friends.
"Nice work, Jay." Lydie said with a smile before noticing something. "Uh, where's the Lightning Dragon? Shouldn't there be one like the last two?" She asked in confusion as she looked around.
Then as the lightning flashed a large blue dragon appeared out of nowhere, its mouth crackling with electricity, "Wah! Found him!" Jay yelped.
"Me and my big mouth." Lydie said as the Lightning Dragon glared at her, which she can tell that it was about to shoot her. "I think this would be a good time to JUMP!" She called out in fright and jumped off the pillar.
"I'm with you!" Jay called out as he followed after her in cheer. "Whoohoo!" He called out as he fell with Lydie.
The others followed after her as they fell pass the Skulkin who watched them fall with the Golden Nunchucks before they then opened up gliders that Jay made for emergencies as they glide away from the Floating Ruins as Samukai watched them go as he gave a sinister laugh.
The Ninja glides to the Forest of Tranquility to where Sensei Wu was waiting for them.
At the camp they set up, the five Ninja celebrated their Semi-Victory of getting three of the four Golden Weapons as Cole plays the bongos while Jay and Kai dance to the beat, Zane meditated and bobs his head bit to the beat, Lydie sits close to fire as she prepares their dinner and laughs to their dancing.
"Come on, Sensei. Join us." Kai urged Wu, who was meditating near the fire with the three weapons in front of him.
"There is still one weapon left." Wu reminded them. "We must get our sleep." He advised.
Jay just scoffs at the old man's paranoia, "Sensei, look, you gotta admit, we're kicking their boney butts!" He pointed out while punching the air to prove his point.
"We got three of the four Golden Weapons and the Temple of Fire is just over there," Lydie added, pointing across the forest and to a volcano in the distance, "So we gotta at least have a small taste of victory while we can, with a bit of roasted wild boar and violet berries." She added as she finished cooking their dinner, and prepared a plate for each of the group.
"Get up here. Show us some moves." Kai insisted with a smile.
Wu gave a thought before he sighs. "I guess I could." He answered with a smile as he stood up. "Now this move is very special." He said as he got into a ready stance.
"But if done incorrectly will it lead to disastrous consequences?" Zane asked, while the others, sin Wu, laughed at his words.
"Zane, is that a joke?" Kai asked amusingly. "A sense of humor… you found it." He said through his laughter.
Cole then played the bongos while Wu did a weird dance. "Shake what your mama gave you." He started as he then grabbed his beard. "Yeah. Look at this one now. Mmhmm. Oh Oh. Yeah. Spin around. Oh yeah, I put my feet…" He then tugged his beard down as the others started laughing as Wu kept dancing as Kai and Jay joined in.
"Heheh, I never seen a dance move like that." Lydie committed through her laughter as the others enjoy the night.
Sometime later after they finished eating, they soon fell asleep as the fire was out. As Lydie sleeps, she tosses and turns as in her mind she was experiencing a very strange dream.
(Lydie's Dream)
In Lydrie's dream, she walks through a hallway before she enters a room and sees two figures that are a bit blurry to her but she can make out a woman sitting on a rocking chair, humming a melody and a man dressed in black standing next to her. They seemed to be looking at something in the woman's arms.
"Oh, look at her. She looks just like her mother." The man said happily as he leaned down and Lydie heard the sound of a baby cooing.
The woman chuckles, "Yes, but she has her father's hair." She tells the man.
Lydie went closer to them, while the man and woman were still a bit foggy, she then saw the baby on the woman's hand as she went wide eyed at what she saw. "It, it can't be." She gasped as she recognized the baby from pictures that her aunts showed her growing up, "T-That's me." She said in shock as she saw a baby version of herself and then a realization came to her. "Then, that means…"
"You think she would become something great? Unlike me?" The man asked in a worried tone breaking her out of her thoughts.
The woman sighed, "Garmadon, you put too much blame on yourself." She said as Lydie froze at the mention of the name, "You know that even if someday you…I will always love you, and I know our daughter will become a great woman someday." She promised warmly.
"G-Garmadon? As in Lord Garmadon?" Lydie asked in shock. "B-But that means that, h-he's my…my…" She trailed off as she was horrified to even say the words but quickly tried to deny it. "No, no, no, this isn't real, it's, it's just a dream! There's no way I'm-" She reminded herself, trying to think that this was just a dream.
But her thoughts were broken when Garmadon chuckled and she heard what sounded like a kiss, "Thank you my Misako, but have you chosen a name?" He asked as Lydie dreaded to hear the answer, praying she would hear the woman say a different name.
"Yes, I've decided to call our little Lady, Lydie Garmadon." The woman answered in a warm and loving tone to the baby Lydie, but her teenaged counterpart's world came crashing down at those words.
"No, no. It can't be! This has to be a false memory! A trick from Lord Garmadon to make me join him!" Lydie pleaded as she was terrified by this discovery. She had longed for the day she found her birth parents but not like this only to find out that one of them is the Dark Lord of the Underworld himself.
She then heard a sinister chuckle as she slowly looked up to see the man's face was no longer blurry as his eyes were closed with a small smile…before he opened them, to them blood red and giving her a fanged smirk.
"It is nice to see you again… Daughter." Garmadon said in a sinister tone as he walked closer to her.
"No, nonono! Stay back!" Lydie pleaded as she backed away from Garmadon as the room vanished and she was alone in the darkness with the man she refused to believe was her father. "You're just a nightmare! You can't be real! You're not my father!"
Garmadon chuckled as he kept walking close to her. "Oh, but I am. How else would my brother know you are the Master of Darkness?" He asked as his appearance changed as his pale skin turned jet black, he wore a purple belt around his waist, had a ribcage-like marking on his chest, paint-like marking on his face and on his head was an iron samurai helmet with a bone wedged across at the front, "Darkness runs through my blood, our blood my child. This is the reality you cannot deny." He said with his hands raised.
Lydie started panting as she fell backwards and continued scooting away from him. "I-I don't believe you! I'm not like you! I'm nothing like you!" She called out in fright.
Garmadon then kneels down in front of Lydie as she closes her eyes and whimpers, feeling him caressing her cheek with his fingers. "You're right. You aren't, as I hope you'd be." He said, catching her off guard.
Lydie looks at Garmadon in surprise. "W-What? What do you mean by that?" She asked slowly.
"I wasn't always like this before you were born, Lydie." Garmadon said softly. "I never wanted this to happen, and I had hope that you wouldn't either, and I'm glad you have found your own path."
"R-Really?" Lydie asked, her fear started to fade.
"Yes. I never wanted this for you, either of you," Garmadon said as Lydie caught what he said, "If you truly wish to understand who you are, you must… -ake up! Wake up!"
Lydie realized the last words weren't Garmadon's voice, "Kai?" She called.
"Wake up! Lydie, wake up!" Kai's voice called through Garmadon as Lydie felt herself being shaken as everything faded to white.
(End of Lydie's Dream)
Lydie opened her eyes as she was shaken awake as she got her bearings and saw Kai shaking her.
"Wake up!" Kai said to her as he kept shaking.
Lydie blinked a few times as she pushed herself up and yawned, "Kai? What, what is it?" She asked while shaking her head.
"I just saw Nya, she must've got away!" Kai told her as he pointed in the direction of the volcano, "She's heading for the Temple of Fire, come on!" He gestured for her to get and ran towards the temple.
"Wha… Okay." Lydie said as she quickly got up ran after Kai, catching up to him as they rushed through the forest as they saw Nya running through the forest.
"Nya! Wait up! Slow down! Why are you running so fast?!" Kai asked as they ran.
"Is she always this fast?" Lydie asked.
"Not this fast." Kai answered as the two appeared behind a bush. "Nya, where are you?" He called out as they looked around.
Lydie then saw something ahead. "Uh, Kai." She said as she pointed in front of them as Kai followed her gaze.
They saw Nya running up to a temple in front of the volcano as the two rushed across the bridge and into the temple. Before them was a lake of lava with an obsidian stepping stone path towards a cave in the shape of a mouth and before them was the Golden Sword wedged into the ground.
"The Sword of Fire." Lydie called out. "And right now, it makes the other temples look like great vacation spots." She commented.
"Yeah, but where's," Kai starts as he looks around before seeing his sister in front of the Sword of Fire, "Nya!" He smiles and rushes to him.
Lydie however frowned in confusion, "Wait, she wasn't there before," She said before realizing and grabbed Kai by the shoulder, "Kai wait! It's a trick!" She told him.
"Don't worry, I'm right here brother." 'Nya' said before her voice became masculine as she turned into a shadow of a man wearing a helmet with glowing red eyes as he grew big and looked down at them.
Kai and Lydie back away as they already know who this was, Lydie even more so. "Garmadon/Dad." They both said before Kai widened his eyes from what Lydie just said. "Wait? Dad?!" He asked in shock.
Lydie looked down in shame, "Yeah, just found out through a dream of all things." She said before looking at him, "I guess this means you hate me now, huh?"
Kai gets over his shock and gives a small smile, "No." He answered as Lydie gave a grateful smile back.
"How sweet, so nice to know my daughter has such remarkable friends." Garmadon said with a chuckle as the two Ninja turned back to him and reached out for their weapons, which Lydie brought out her staff but Kai forgot his sword. "Forgot something, boy?" He mocked.
"You forgot your sword, Kai?" Lydie questioned with a brow.
"I was in a rush to get to my sister." Kai defended before glaring at Garmadon, "Doesn't matter though, you can't hurt me or Lydie here. You're banished, trapped in the Underworld!" He reminded the shadow as he and Lydie backed away.
"Yeah, so sorry father, but your attempt to scare us is a dud." Lydie added with a look.
Garmadon was unfazed by this, "You are correct, and that is why you and your friend are going to remove the Sword of Fire for me." He told Lydie.
"I don't think so!" Kai declared.
"What makes you think we'll do that?" Lydie asked the Dark Lord defyingly.
"Perhaps this?" Garmadon asked as he vanished and the dropping down was the real Nya tied in chains.
Nya reached out to her brother, "Kai!" She called out.
Kai gasped in shock, "Nya!" He called out.
"If you don't remove the sword boy, how else would you cut the chains to save your precious little sister?" Garmadon asked while the two looked around.
"That's a dirty way just to get a Sword, father!" Lydie called out.
"Lofty goals call for drastic actions, Daughter." Garmadon tells her, "So boy, your choice?"
"Don't do it! You both know it's a trap!" Nya called out as she tried to tug on her chains. "I can.. Free myself!" She said as she tried to tug the chains before she sighs tiredly. "Okay, that's tight." She admitted as she slumped her shoulders before the chains started lowering as Nya screamed.
"Nya!" Kai yelled as he rushed towards her.
"Tick tock. Tick tock." Garmadon mocked as Kai growled in frustration.
Lydie then grabbed his shoulder as he turned to her and they both nodded. The two then rushed forward as Lydie grabbed Kai's hand as she threw him towards the sword as he grabbed it and landed on the wall. "NINJA-GO!" He called out as he did Spinjitzu as he cut the chains and grabbed his sister as the two siblings landed on the ground as Lydie leapt up to them as Kai picked Nya up.
"You two okay?" Lydie asked in concern.
"We're fine." Kai assured as Garmadon's chuckle echoed around them. The three walked around slowly, keeping their guard up. "Stay close, Nya." Kai told his sister.
"Trust me, after what I've seen, I'm not going anywhere." Nya said frighteningly.
The three then were face to face with Garmadon's shadow. "You can't hurt us, father! You're only a shadow!" Lydie told her father.
"Even shadows have their uses, daughter." Garmadon said as the shadows of Lydie and Kai came to life with red eyes as the shadows stood in front of them.
"Guys! Look out!" Nya called out as the two turned to see their shadows had come to life while pointing shadow versions of their weapons at them.
"What the-?!" Kai called out in shock.
"Seriously?! How did you do that?!" Lydie questioned as she ducked a swing from her shadow's bowstaff. "Nya, stay back! We got this!" She told Nya as she and Kai stood before the shadows.
"Kai says stay close, you say stay back, make up your minds you two!" Nya complained. "By the way, who are you?" She asked.
Lydie paused for a moment before glancing at her, "Lydie." She answered before charging at her shadow, swinging her staff but it went right through it, "Hey wha-?!" Was all she could say before her shadow knocked her back to Kai flat on her back.
"That's not fair!" Nya complained.
"Not cool man!" Kai scowled and pointed his sword at the shadows.
"Oh, am I being too hard?" Garmadon taunted as copies of Kai and Lydie's shadows appeared.
"Oh that is so cheating!" Lydie griped as she stood up again.
Both Kai and Lydie then jump through their shadows as they swipe their weapons, but same results as they didn't do anything as they were punched by their shadows as Nya cringed and covered her eyes before they were kicked back, which resulted in Kai dropping the Sword of Fire in the process.
One of Kai's shadow picked up the sword as the two Ninja went wide eyes as Kai tried to reach for it, but then suddenly, Wu's shadow appeared between them as they saw Wu standing on a stone as he fought the shadows with his shadow, and then did a hand shadow of an eagle as the evil shadows ran away as Wu gave a chuckle before kicking the shadow holding the Sword of Fire as he twirled up and caught it as he landed on the side.
"Brother, I see you protect one." Garmadon said as Wu turned to his shadowy brother. "But what of the other three?" He questioned.
"They are safe! Far from your grasp, Garmadon!" Wu declared while pointing the sword at his brother as Lydie, Kai and Nya walked up to Wu.
"I wouldn't be so confident." Garmadon said as he then created a viewing sphere of where the rest of the Ninja are at their campsite.
Back at the campsite, Cole was fast asleep before he heard the sound of something. He opened his eyes and saw the feet of the skeleton before he looked up and saw he was the skeleton and reached for his Scythe only to find it was gone.
He turned and saw Kruncha holding it, Nuckal sitting on top of Jay and Zane tied up and worst of all Samukai holding the three weapons they collected, "I believe these belong to Lord Garmadon, now!" Samukai declared as the Skulkin all cheered.
The projection stopped as the Lydie, Kai and Wu stood horrified, "Oh no." Lydie gasped.
"My brother must unite the four weapons, we must keep them apart!" Wu said as he gestured for the three to follow him.
As they rushed to the exit Garmadon's shadow loomed over them, "Awaken Guardian of the Fire Temple and Gate Keeper of the Underworld!" He called forth, "They're stealing the Sword! You must not let them escape!" He ordered.
As Wu jumped he landed on the head of a large red fire dragon and leapt off it, landing next to the three Teenagers.
The fire dragon roared as Nya screamed in fright. Then they heard something climbing as they turned to the cave as rising up from underneath was a big black dragon that roared loudly at them.
The fire dragon swung its tail and blocked the exit with rocks as the Dark dragon came out fully and stood beside it as they both glared at Lydie.
Lydie already knew what they were thinking, "Oh why do dragons always have it out for me?!" She complained.
The fire dragon was about to blow fire but the Dark dragon snapped its jaws at. The two growled at each other before turning back to the four, "There's no way out, they've taken away all our options!" Kai noted in frustration.
"All but one." Wu argued as he leapt backwards to where the Dark Dragon climbed out from.
Lydie and Kai were shocked by this, "Sensei?! What are you doing?!" They exclaimed before Wu sliced the rock he was standing on as it drifted backwards towards the opening.
"No you fool!" Garmadon roared in anger.
Wu then stood on the rock in acceptance, "If he is to bring the other weapons here, then I will take the Sword of Fire to the Underworld," He said before sitting down with the weapon in his lap, "It is my sacrifice to bear."
Lydie shook her head, "No! I'm the leader and the daughter of Lord Garmadon! It should be mine!" She argued with her uncle.
"We shouldn't have come on our own!" Kai added as they reached out to Wu, "You don't have to do this! There has to be another way!"
Wu simply pulled out his tea and poured himself a cup, "Lead your team well, my niece." He said to Lydie before he went over the edge with his hat following behind.
"NNNOOOO!" Kai and Lydie cried out as the latter fell to her knees.
Garmadon however was unfazed by his brother's selfless act, "Then I will see you there, brother!" He said before disappearing back into the darkness.
"It's all my fault." Kai said in despair. "Sensei won't be able to hold out for long."
"I should've taken his place. It should've been me." Lydie said in despair as well.
The Fire and Dark Dragons then glared down at them as Nya turned to the two dragons in fright.
"Forget Sensei. What about us?" Nya said in fright as the two dragons growled at them as Lydie and Kai stood up.
"And I am more worried about me because these dragons sure don't like me for some reason." Lydie squeaked as the two dragons glared down at her as the three faced the two dragons.
At the Ninja's campsite, Samukai held the three Golden Weapons while Jay, Cole and Zane are tied up while dangling as the Skultons enjoy their semi-victory as the boys try to break free from their binds.
"To the Fire Temple!" Samukai announced as his troops cheered, but then Garmadon's shadow appeared behind, which got Samukai's attention.
"My brother has taken the Sword of Fire to the Underworld." Garmadon quickly informed. "Hurry! Return home and reunite the weapons before it's too late!" He urged as he disappeared back into the darkness.
Samukai was surprised by the news as he turned to his troops again. "Change of plans," he started as the Skulkin all faced him, "To the Underworld!" He declared again.
The Skultons cheered again, but then Nuckal saw that he was holding a stick, which surprised him in confusion as Kruncha walked up to him.
"What happened to your weapon?" Kruncha questioned as he walked up to the vehicle.
Nuckal looked at the stick as he scratched his head before he followed his partner as the Skulton drove off, leaving the boys dangling in the tree.
"Great. Now what?" Cole asked his friends while wondering how they get free and get the Golden Weapons back.
"Now we get out of here." Jay said with a smile as he brought out a Skulton sword, which he stole from Nuckal before they were caught.
Zane and Cole then realized what was going to happen next, "Um Jay?" Cole started, "Before you do you might wanna-"
But his warning came too late as Jay cut the rope and all three fell to the ground. "Warn us." Cole groaned.
Zane then stood up, "Let's go!" He said as Cole and Jay stood back up and the three of them gave chase to the Skulkin.
On the road the Skulkin were driving fast with the Golden Weapon secured on the Skull Truck. "Faster!" Samukai ordered his driver, "We need to go faster to cross over to the Underworld!" He reminded them.
And then one by one, some of the Skulkin's vehicles disappear through a portal as they cross to the Underworld.
And then the three boys hopped on the trees while chasing the Skulkin, "There they are!" Cole announced as he and Zane kept hopping from tree to tree and bringing out their weapons while Jay was running fast on the ground as they drew closer.
"More speed!" Samukai ordered again. "We'll never get home at this rate." He pointed out as the driver went faster as the speedometer was drawing closer to the red, but then it slowed down a bit as it surprised Samukai. "What's wrong?" He asked.
Samukai then looked back as he saw Cole holding a chain with his scythe as he skied on the floor to slow down Samukai's ride. And then Zane appeared on top of the grable claw as he knocked a couple of skeletons off as Samukai looked up and saw the white ninja gave a wave as Jay appeared on the front and knocked a couple more off.
"Get them!" Samukai ordered furiously.
"NINJA-GO!" Jay did Spinjitzu as he knocked more skeletons off the truck as he spun to the back where the Golden Weapons were chained up as he hit the chain, but he only hurt his hand in the process. "Ugh. Okay, that's why they make keys." He commented as he climbed up.
Above was Cole fighting the Kruncha and Nuckal but they kept lifting their skulls to dodge Cole's attacks. "Hey Cole…" Jay said as he climbed up but was cut off when Cole accidentally hit him on the throat as he started coughing.
Nuckal and Kruncha gave a chuckle at what they saw before Cole knocked them away as Cole turned to Jay. "Jay, sorry. I didn't see you." He apologized for hitting him.
Zane then appeared next to the driver. "Greetings." He said as he was about to punch him but Samukai kicked him back as Zane flew to the front as he dangled.
Samukai then kicked the driver off the seat as the driver fell to the ground in pieces as Samukai gave a chuckle as he pulled the lever causing the truck to go faster as it leaned back, causing the Ninja to fly off with a scream as his speedometer was in the red, opening a portal on a wall and disappeared, leaving a flame trail behind.
Storm clouds blew over, rumbling with thunder as the three Ninja got up and looked at where Samukai had entered the Underworld.
"We… didn't… stop them…" Jay tried to speak, but thanks to the blow to the throat from Cole's scythe, his voice was raspy.
"You don't need to say." Cole answered for Jay. "I know. We lost." He said as the Ninja looked on in shame as they failed to protect the Golden Weapons and failed to retrieve them before they went into the Underworld, where no mortal could crossover.
With Wu, he awoke in at the bottom of a rock fall with his tea set broken and the Sword of Fire next to him. He then stood and grabbed the sword as he looked around.
Wu then saw a clearing and saw where he was in a place of floating islands connected by bridges and skeletons wandering around with purple torches everywhere. "Hmm. The Underworld." He said to himself as he then saw a Skeleton patrol coming by as he hid behind the rock pillars.
Once they passed, Wu then wrap the Sword of Fire in a cloth as he stealthy moved around as he ran towards a palace before checking if he wasn't followed as he ran inside.
Back on the Ninjago, the Three Ninja rushed back to the Fire Temple as they rushed to the entrance.
"Kai! Lydie! Sensei!" Cole called out from behind the door as he and Jay checked to see if they were here.
Zane took off his hood as he sensed something that made him very grim. "The Sword of Fire was here, as well our friends. But I only sense lost. We are too late." He said sullenly as he turned to his friends. "The Elemental Weapons have left this realm and are now in the Underworld. The end is drawing near."
Cole sighed in frustration as he sat down and took off his hood, "Ugh, great!" He complained while Jay took off his hood too. "The one place no mortal could cross over." He said.
"We might not be able to cross over." Kai's voice called out, which drew the three Ninja's attention as they looked behind them and saw the Fire Temple opened up.
They were then wide eyed at the sight of Kai and Nya on the Fire Dragon while Lydie was on the Dark Dragon.
"But dragons can!" Lydie finished as the two dragons roared loudly.
The others were shocked, while Cole screamed in fear as he jumped behind a pillar and peaking out at the dragons fearfully.
"Guys, it's okay! They're friendly!" Lydie assured with a smile as she slid off her dragon.
"Our father used to tell us stories about the dragons." Nya started as Kai hopped off his dragon. "That they were mythical creatures that belong to both worlds and very between them." She explained.
"W-Wha?!" Cole stammered in shock. "Are you insane!? Especially after trying to blast Lydie!?" He asked in disbelief.
"Once the Fire Dragon realized that we were trying to protect the Sword of Fire, heh, he actually became quite softy." Kai said with a chuckle as the fire dragon nuzzled him. "Heheh, knock it off." He chuckled.
"And once the Dark Dragon realized I wasn't a threat, she turned out to be just a big old teddy bear." Lydie added as she petted the Dark Dragon as she licked her on the face. "Heheheh. Okay, cut it out." She giggled as she wiped the slopper off.
Nya gave a chuckle at the two as she heard a raspy voice as she turned and saw Jay, who was trying to ask her something, but he still couldn't talk as he coughed.
Zane then appeared next to him. "He cannot talk, but he wants to know if you like blue." He translated for Jay as he nodded in confirming.
"It's my favorite color." Nya answered with a small smile.
"Yes." Jay rasped out with his fist raised and a smile while Kai shook her head in frustration.
Nya then hopped down off the fire dragon as Kai turned to her as he took off his hood. "Nya." He asked.
"This is goodbye isn't it?" Nya asked, knowing what Kai was about to say as her brother nodded, "Come back to me in one piece, okay? I don't want to have to run the store on my own." She slightly jokes.
"I promise I won't be gone for long." He said before jumping back on to the Fire Dragon.
"I'll keep a candle lit outside our shop until you return." Nya said as she turned to Lydie, "Bring my brother back home, okay?" She asked.
Lydie smiled, "I will." She promised before hopping onto her dragon too as Jay and Zane hopped on Kai's fire dragon.
"Uh, you guys go on ahead." Cole said as the others turned to him. "Even with two dragons, there's not enough for all of us on those things." He said nervously as the fire and dark dragons turned to him with an insulted growl.
"You're right, Cole." Lydie said with a smirk on her face. "But I think I got a way to fix that problem." She said eagerly. "But first, we're gonna make a couple of pit stops."
And then the next morning, Cole was frightfully clinging onto the flag poles of the saddle of the Earth Dragon he was riding on, while wearing a dragon flight ninja suit they made for dragon flying.
"Easy. Not so fast." Cole said fearfully.
"Whoa!" Kai called out excitedly, the ninja returned to the where they found the Golden Weapons and befriended the Guardian Elemental Dragons as they all built saddles to ride on and new dragon Ninja gis. "This is awesome!" He cheered excitedly as they flew across the sky.
"Yes. This is quite fun." Zane commented calmly.
"Wooohooo!" Lydie cheered.
"So how do the dragons crossover to the Underworld?" Cole questioned while still clinging to the saddle.
"Don't know. But I think we're about to find out!" Lydie called out as she took the lead as the dragons dived down.
The Ninja gave startled screams as the dragons started spinning around as they are in their elemental tornadoes as a portal opened up below them as the Ninja kept screaming as they entered the portal through the ground as it closed once they all entered.
Cole had his eyes closed after what they experienced. "Is it over?" He asked frightfully as opened his eyes and saw that they had entered a tunnel.
"Hardly." Lydie answered. "I hope these dragons know what they're doing." She hopped.
The dragons then split up as they entered multiple tunnels as purple crystals and lava burst from the side of the tunnels as they regrouped as the dragons were going faster through the tunnel.
"They're speeding up! Hold on, gang!" Lydie called out as the dragons entered the end of the tunnel as things were quiet for a moment.
And then once they reached a cave, the dragons skidded to a stop as the Ninja flew off the saddles and fell to the floor. They looked up and saw that they had entered the Underworld.
"Solid ground. We made it!" Cole cheered.
They looked down and saw skeletons patrolling around the Foreboding fortress, "Uncle Wu is inside that fortress." Lydie said in a serious tone.
"They're expecting us." Kai added after seeing the numbers of guards and vehicles surrounding the fortress.
"Then we go do something they won't expect us to do." Lydie said as a plan starts forming in her head. She looked up at the ceiling. "Follow my lead guys."
At the entrance of the fortress Kruncha and Nuckal are guarding the bridge as they see a skeleton pushing a wagon with crates and barrels in it.
"Hold up!" Kruncha called out as they stopped. "Nothing gets through without inspecting." He said.
"Ninja search!" Nuckal called out as he jumped into the wagging and rummaged through the wagon as Kruncha flinched a couple of times as Nuckle jumped back to his partner. "Okay, clear pass." He said as they saw many crates and barrels on the ground from his search.
Kruncha groaned tiredly at his partner's stupidity.
On the ceiling, the Ninja are climbing through the stalactites as a rock fell from Kai's as it hit a skeleton on the head knocking him out.
Cole then turned to Lydie, "So Lord Garmadon is really your father?" He as
"Trust me, it shocked me too when I found out." Lydie answered with a sigh. "I didn't want to believe it at first, but my memories started coming back to me last night and when my father entered my dream." She explained as they kept climbing. "He really knows how to show you a big reveal." She commented.
"I'll say." Kai said in agreement.
But then when Jay grabbed a stalactite, he realized that it wasn't a stalactite at all but was actually a giant spider hissing at him. He tried to warn his friends, but his voice is still raspy.
"Can I be the first to say it's been an absolute pleasure since Jay lost his voice?" Cole asked his friends with a small happy tone.
"A little. But Jay, what are you…" Lydie trailed off when she realized the stalactites she was holding were kind of skinny.
She and the others looked up and saw they were holding onto the legs of a giant hungry spider, "AHH! SPIDERS!" Lydie screamed as she let go of the spider's legs as she fell.
The others followed Lydie's example and they all let go and screamed falling to the center of the skeleton island as they all groaned as Nuckal turned to Kruncha in confusion after seeing them.
"Uh, if there are more than one ninja, is it ninjas or just ninja?" Nucklal asked him.
"I think it's just ninja." Kruncha guessed with a shrug.
"Oh, okay." Nuckal said. "Then, NINJA!" He yelled out as he pointed at the Ninja as they got up and saw the skeletons closing in on them with their weapons raised.
The Ninja formed a circle and readied their weapons. "Okay, between us Five, I count 10 skeletons for every one of us." Lydie said as she spinned her staff.
"I think I like these odds." Cole said eagerly.
But then the spiders from the ceilings came crawling down from their webs as they closed their attention to the Ninja.
"Okay, but these spiders might be an issue." Lydie said as they stood close.
"Uh-oh." Kai said. "Anyone got any bright ideas?" He asked the others hopefully.
In the fortress, Wu is climbing down the stairs with the Sword of Fire in hand as he flipped up into the Throne Room and walked into the center.
"Brother." Garmadon chuckled from behind Wu as he turned to see his older brother.
Wu drew the sword as he raised it to Garmadon with a serious look. "Brother." He responded as he walked towards his brother.
Garmadon walked forward and narrowed his eyes, "Seize the sword." He ordered as skeleton troops came from above and surrounded him.
Wu was unfazed by this as he spun. "NINJA-GO!" He did Spinjitzu as he knocked the skeleton troops away as he stopped in the middle of the room. "You'll have to take it from me." He said to his brother as he gave a fierce look.
And then Samukai came from behind his throne as he held up the three Golden Weapons. "My pleasure." He said eagerly as Wu turned to him as he drew the sword at him.
Wu walked back a bit, but stopped at the edge and then Samukai gave a battle cry as he jumped at Wu, but he dodge with a flip and clashed weapons as the two then had a face off as Garmadon sat on the throne.
"Teach him a lesson." Garmadon said to Samukai as he watched the duel.
Back outside the fortress the Ninja were still surrounded by the Skulkin army and Spiders.
"Anyone got any ideas?! I'm still all ears!" Kai said as he waved his sword at the skeleton.
Lydie jabbed her staff forward and grunted in frustration, "We need something big, and something very powerful to take these guys out." She said.
Jay then thought of something and tried to say his idea, but his voice was still raspy. "Uh?" Kai asked in confusion.
"You feel a weird sensation?" Cole asked.
"No!" Jay wheezed while shaking his head.
"You ate an odd crustation?" Zane guessed.
Jay spoke again, but still couldn't make the words out.
"I got it! I got it!" Kai called out as the others turned to him. "Two natives on vacation. Huh?" He guessed with his hands on his hips.
"Oh for the love of…" Lydie muttered as she facedpalmed herself before she realized what Jay was trying to say. "Wait, what about: the Tornado of Creation?" She guessed.
"Yes!" Jay yelled out as his voice echoed as he found his voice again.
"Ooh." The three boys said in realization with a slight chuckle.
"Welcome back." Zane said as he patted Jay on his back.
"Uh, Jay, not that I don't agree with your idea, it's creation, I'm darkness." Lydie reminded them. "We don't know what would happen if I combined my Spinjitzu with yours."
"And it could lead to disastrous consequences if we mess it up." Cole added in agreement.
"We're about to have a disastrous consequence and I don't think what would happen if creation and darkness mix together matter since we're already toast with these guys." Kai pointed out as the enemy was closing in on them.
"Good point." Lydie said in understanding.
"Let's do this. Earth!" Cole called out as he did Spinjitzu as the skeletons and snake moved back in worry.
"Fire!" Kai called next as he did his.
"Ice!" Zane did his Spinjitzu next.
"Lightning!" Jay did his.
"Darkness!" Lydie then did hers as well.
"NINJA-GO!" And then the four boys' tornados stacked up on each other while Lydie's remained in the center, and together formed a giant Tornado of Elemental energy. The skeletons and spiders moved back as one by one they were Sucked into the Tornado of Creation, along with their vehicles and fortress.
The Tornado of Elemental then moves across the bridge as the five tornadoes split up with Lydie's in the middle of them. Once they stopped spinning the ninja looked up and saw that they had created a big boney ferris wheel with the skeletons trapped inside. Kruncha and Nuckal were in a cage together as Nuckal was eating cotton candy he somehow got as Kruncha saw this and slapped it out his partner's hand as Nuckal whined.
But then suddenly, a cage claw stretched out and grabbed the cotton candy and gave it back to Nuckal, who laughed in joy while Kruncha groaned tiredly.
"Huh, so that's what happens if we mix darkness with creation." Lydie commented after seeing a cage claw move, realizing that the ferris wheel is alive. "Come on, there's no time to waste! Uncle Wu needs us!"
The boys nodded and followed Lydie as they charged down a hole where the fortress was.
They traversed the stairway until they reached the Throne Room and saw Wu fighting Samukai while Garmadon watched as Wu did a swipe at Samukai, who narrowly dodged it as Wu spinned back.
The others were about to get in and help Wu, but Lydie stopped them. "No. This is Uncle Wu's fight." She said to them.
Wu then shot fire from the sword as Samukai dodge the fireball before he tossed the shurikens of ice at him, Wu managed to block it but the ice froze the sword of fire with his hand in it as he turned and saw Samukai spinning the nunchucks of lighting as he strike a lightning at him, but Wu got the sword free as he flipped out of the way as Samukai uses the scythe of quakes on the ground as the platform begins to break as the bridges fell.
As the Ninja watched the battle, Jay was eating some cotton candy he found as Lydie nudged him with a look. "Where did you even get that?" She asked with a questionable look.
"Found it after doing that Tornado of Creation, deal with it." Jay simply answered.
Samukai then tossed the shurikens at Wu again as he dodge while doing an airflip, but Samukai struck Wu with lightning as he was thrown back. The Ninja cringed from that as the Sword of Fire fell in front of Samukai as he walked up to it.
Wu got up and he shook his head before he gasped in horror as Samukai neared the sword.
"Bring me the four weapons." Garmadon ordered with his arms out.
Samukai glanced at Garmadon for a moment before looking at the sword again and picked it up with his fourth arm as he looked at the four Golden Weapons with an eager smile. "No!" He denied as he turned to Gamardon. "You will obey me now!" He said with a sinister smile as he held all four weapons.
Garmadon however was unsurprised by this betrayal and just laughed at Samukai before the skeleton noticed the weapons swaying in his hands.
"What's happening?" Lydie asked the question she was sure Samukai was wondering too as Wu flipped back over to her and the others.
"No one can handle all of their power at once." Wu reminded them with a serious tone.
Samukai kept shaking as he felt strange. "Selfish fool. Did you think I wouldn't plan on your betrayal?" Garmadon questioned, knowing what was happening as well.
"W-What's happening to me?!" Samukai frighteningly asked as he felt like his very being was being ripped apart by the Golden Weapons as they were shaking even harder.
"You've fallen right into my master plan." Garmadon said with a small smirk. "Not even I can handle all their power." He said honestly as the Ninja listened to him in confusion. "But now that they are combined, it will create a vortex through space and Time! Allowing me to finally escape this ghastly place!" Garmadon declared.
Wu and Lydie were shocked by what Garmadon revealed. "You never wanted the weapons for yourself, you only needed to bring them together to escape the Underworld!?" Lydie questioned in shock.
"Yes, and for gathering them together for me, I thank you." Garmadon said as he bowed his head graciously to them.
"But what about me!?" Samukai called out as he was close to his end. Well, as the end as a living skeleton can get.
Garmadon merely gave him a smirk, "Thank you for your help Samukai, but I'm afraid this is where your usefulness has reached its end." He said.
The others then saw Samukai's arms spread out as the weapons shook. "Uh-oh." He muttered as he was lifted into the air with a scream as he twirled around and was turned into dust as the Golden Weapons fell to the floor.
Garmadon jumped down from the throne as he walked towards a portal that opened up behind him and left the Golden Weapons behind.
"Mother wouldn't want you to do this, father!" Lydie pleaded to her father.
Garmadon turned to Lydie with a glare. "Your mother is not here!" He firmly said to his daughter, who flinched as the portal glowed bright as the Ninja and Wu covered their eyes.
"Good and Evil, there has always been a balance. But where I go, the balance can be destroyed!" Garmadon declared as Wu and Lydie squinted their eyes to look at him. "Soon, I'll be strong enough to possess the four weapons, so I may recreate the world in my image!" He announced as he turned to the portal, but stopped as he pointed to his younger brother. "Wu, you were always father's favorite." He said before he turned to Lydie. "Take care of your brother, my daughter." He finished.
Lydie's eyes widened, "Wait, brother?" She said before Garmadon marched through the portal, "Wait, father!" She reached out but the portal closed before she made it. "He's gone." She said in sadness as the others flipped to her.
"But he will return." Wu assured as he placed a comforting hand on his niece, who gave a small smile at her uncle.
The boys picked up their respective Golden Weapons. "Then we'll be ready for him!" Kai declared.
"And keep an eye out in case he has any more of his evil plans." Cole added.
"And someday, we will defeat him!" Lydie finished as she stood next to her team.
Wu looks at them with pride before nodding, "Then I have done my part. The balance has been restored," He said before looking serious, "For now," He added forebodingly.
At a village called Ignacia, dark clouds cleared out as Nya is inside her family's Blacksmith shop, Four Weapons, with a candle lit next to her. She looked outside waiting anxiously and hoping to see her brother and his friends return.
She then noticed the candle go out as she looked outside and saw Kai's dragon land with Lydie's next to him.
"Kai!" Nya said happily as she ran out of the shop as the others landed their dragons as Kai hopped off his as the two siblings gave each other a hug.
"Oh, my turn!" Jay called out as he hopped off his dragon as he and Nya rushed to each other as the latter chuckled and hugged back as Kai just shook his head with a small smile at the two.
Lydie stood next to him and held his shoulder with a proud smile as the rest of their friends hopped off their dragons and went to them as the villagers cheered and gathered around the Ninja.
"I'm so happy you're back!" Nya said in joy.
"For now." Kai said calmly before he frowned.
"But it's not over." Lydie spoke up next as she stepped forward. "Lord Garmadon will return." She said seriously.
The villagers stopped cheering once they heard this as they all looked afraid at Garmadon's return someday.
"And we'll be ready for him." Cole declared as he and Zane walked up to them with a determined smile the villagers cheered again.
"Yeah!" The five Ninja declared as they brought their weapons again but that was a bad idea as the four Golden Weapons released a small explosion that knocked the Ninja off their feet while also destroying Lydie's staff.
Lydie groaned and sat up as the others did after, she then looked at the burnt end of her staff, "Oh come on!" She complained.
"Lyd, your weapon just exploded." Jay joked.
"Yeah, because it wasn't an Elemental Golden Weapon like the rest of yours!" Lydie sarcastically said as she tossed her broken staff at Jay, which hit him in the head.
"Ow!" Jay cried out as he rubbed his head.
Kai chuckled as he stood up, "Okay, we gotta remember not to do that." He said as the Ninja gathered around.
"And maybe get me a tougher bo staff and make sure to stay clear of the Golden Weapons." Lydie added with a grin.
"Yeah, so we'll stick with high fives instead." Jay joked.
"Agreed." Zane said with a straight face, which caused everyone to laugh at him. "Was that a joke?" He asked in confusion.
"Heheheh! It was, Zane." Lydie answered as she stood in front of the group and placed her hood on as she gave a determined look before looking up to the sky in a thought. 'Father said that I have a brother. He must be out there, somewhere. I have to find him.' She declared to herself, now knowing that she has a brother out there, and was willing to do everything she could to find him.
