After losing the third Fangblade the Ninja searched all of Ninjago for any clue to the fourth one. But strangely enough, the number of Serpentine frequency had more than lower, it had dropped completely.
But didn't stop them from trying. Along the dark streets of Ninjago City, a Venomari is running away from something as she looked back and hissed. She ran until something, or someone, emerged from the mist. Zane stepped out with his Shurikens before he threw them on the ground and froze the area around them.
The Venomari then ran in another direction while slipping on the ice but was halted when a ball of electric energy flowed down a telephone pole. Jay then appeared in flash and swung his Nunchucks at the Serpentine, sending bolts of lightning at her.
The Venomari ducked and tried to run into an alley but yelped and covered her face as a powerful wave of stone and dust blew right at her. Marching out of the alley was Cole, spinning his Sycthe from hand to hand before slamming his weapon down to send another wave of earth and dust that nearly knocked the Venomari off her feet.
She then tried her luck for a fourth time, but then tripped over some crates and realized the alley was a dead end AND that Kai who was surrounded in a swirl of fire, swinging his Sword to extinguish them, was waiting for her.
The Venomari got back up and ran right into Lydie who literally popped out of the shadows, and fell flat on her back.
"Going somewhere?" Lydie asked as the others joined her and Kai, gathering around the Serpentine. "Now that we have your undivided attention," She started as the boys then pointed their golden weapons at the snake.
"Uh-oh," The Venomari said as she was held at weapons point.
"Thought you could joyride through town and not be noticed, huh?" Jay asked before holding his weapon closer to their captive. "Where's the last Fangblade?!"
"I… don't know what you're talking about?" The Venomari played dumb.
"You know what it is: The fourth Fangblade!" Kai told her.
"We already know you have three of them, so obviously that's what you're after now," Cole pointed out. After they rescued Lloyd from the Volcano, they learned through Zane's Falcon that Pythor had recovered the third Fangblade that had survived in the lava.
"And when Pythor find the last one, he plans to awaken the Great Devourer!" Lydie told her as she narrowed her eyes. "So, talk! Where is it?"
"Oh. That Fangblade," the Venomari said before she chuckled. "You're too late. Pythor'sss already there now. He'sss probably already digging it up." The Ninja looked at each other with concern when she told them. "If I were you, I'd ssstart preparing for the worssst, because when the Great Devourer isss awakened, there will be nothing it won't consssume!" She declared.
"But wouldn't that mean it will consume you too?" Zane asked her.
"Huh? What do you mean?" The Venomari looked startled and confused by the question.
"Uh, you know the Great Devourer can eat everything in it's path, right? And everything means every single thing, buildings, ground, plants, animals, humans and Serpentine?" Lydie questioned with a brow.
The Venomari blinked in thought as she never thought of that as she panicked. "AHH! Pleassse! You have to ssstop him! That Anacondrai'sss crazy! I don't wanna unleash the Great Devourer!" She pleaded, her allegiance to Pythor having changed after the horrifying revelation. "I'm a sssnake! Not a sssnack!"
"Is it really too late to stop Pythor from getting the last Fangblade?" Lydie asked her, to make sure she was not lying.
The Venomari whimpered as she nodded. "Y-You're daysss behind him! I can give you the cordinatesss to Pythor, but by that time, you will be too late! There'sss gotta be ssssomething elssse you can do!" She called out, saying what she spoke to them the truth since they are now already behind.
The Ninja turned to each other; they were in a very grim spot now.
The Bounty was flying through the sky as fast as it could through sky as on the bridge, everyone was gathered and looking at the map, showing their destination, "The Venomari is right," Nya noted as she pointed to the map, "By the time we cast sail clear across to the other side of Equestria, Pythor will have already beat us to the last Fangblade."
"Oh, come on, guys. This is the last one," Jay spoke up. "We gotta get it."
"But even if we do get there, Pythor will have left there with the Fangblade for the City of Ouroboros to awaken the Devourer," Zane reminded him.
"That's it, then? We're doomed?" Cole asked.
"Come on guys, there's gotta be away, something we're not seeing." Lydie said stubbornly as they all started brainstorming.
"Hey…" Lloyd spoke up as everyone turned to him. "If all we have to do is get one Fangblade to stop him. What if we take back the other three?" He asked as they listened to his plan. "Pythor wouldn't risk having the other Fangblades on him. He's probably hidden them somewhere while he goes for the fourth."
"That's… actually a pretty good idea, brother." Lydie said with a smile to her little brother.
"Of course… It's so simple," Cole said when they all realized it was.
"Why didn't any of us think of that?" Kai complained.
"It can't be that easy… can it?" Jay pointed out.
"'Easy'? My algorithms suggest taking the other three would be far more dangerous," Zane informed them. "Pythor would undoubtedly have them protected by the other four generals."
"Which means, we don't have to hold back," Kai said eagerly.
"Even if we could steal the other three, we don't even know where they are," Garmadon reminded them.
"He's right. For the past few weeks, there have been no Serpentine sightings," Wu noted. "How are they moving around? It's like they're ghosts."
Nya hen got an idea. "…Or snakes! Bridge, give us a sonar sweep of Ninjago for Serpentine?" she asked politely.
The computer did a scan of the map but found no traces of Hypnobrai, Fangpyre, Constrictai, Venomari or Anacondrai.
"See? Nothing. It's just like sensei said," Kai told his sister.
"Why would you think of that, Nya?" Lydie asked.
"What if they aren't traveling above ground? They're snakes, and snakes burrow," Nya told them before turning to the computer. "Bridge, give us a sonar sweep of Ninjago, but twenty feet below surface."
The computer beeped as it projected a three-dimensional image of Ninjago, showing a vast network of underground tunnels, and strangely off, the tunnels having been connected to the five Serpentine Tombs.
"I don't believe it," Lydie gasped.
"All the tombs and major locations around Ninjago hav been e interconnected," Kai said.
"To make one massive underground fortress," Cole finished.
"And all this time, right under our noses," Jay said.
"Or rather, feet," Zane joked.
"Now that we know what's really under us, then according to this map… that's the most protected area," Lydie said as she pointed out a large underground chamber from where all the tunnels connected, filled with Serpentine readings. "The Fangblades must be held there."
"Then what are we waiting for? Nya, set the course," Wu ordered.
"Already on it," she said as she programmed the coordinates. "We'll be there by sun up." The Destiny's Bounty then made their way to the Serpentine stronghold to get the three Fangblades and stop them.
Wu, Garmadon and the others then started leaving the room to prepare for tomorrow, Lydie and Nya hanged back, "So is the Samurai going to come for one last fight?" Lydie asked Nya.
"Of course I am." Nya said. "I wouldn't miss this fight." She added as she turned to Lydie. "And don't worry. I packed a spare clothing for me incase I had that incident again." She assured as she brought out a tiny container with spare clothes. "Folded them so small, they fit in this small container."
"Clever, Nya. Make sure you keep it under your armor incase things go sideways." Lydie said as she got the feeling they were walking into a trap.
"Sure thing, Daddy's Girl." Nya nodded in understanding as she went back to steering the bounty.
The next morning, the five Ninja were training on deck as Sensei Wu drilled them on how to deal with each of the Serpentine.
"There is no room for error. The Serpentine have shown that they have great powers, and to combat them, you must turn their greatest strengths into their greatest weaknesses," Wu informed them as he turned to Kai. "Kai, how will you defeat the Hypnobrai?"
"Their hypnotizing powers are useless, if their opponent can fight without relying on his eyes." Kai answered as he pulled down a blindfold over his eyes and swung his Sword around.
"
Good," Wu said before he looked at Jay. "Jay, the Fangpyre is fast and his bite sharp... "
"But if he can't bite into you... " Jay started, tapping his armored forearm. "He can't turn you into one!" they finished.
"Yes. Cole, the Constrictai are strong," Wu told them before he pressed up on a remote and the Earth Ninja got ensnared by a net, "...and they will not let go."
"But instead of fighting back, one should try to loosen up," Cole started as he loosened himself up and wriggled free of the nets, "And a little soft-shoe doesn't hurt either," he added tapping his feet on the net.
"Zan , the venom of the Venomari can make you see things," Wu told him. "Cloud your perception."
"Then I will use my new Falcon Vision," Zane said as his eyes glowed blue, as well as his Falcon's eyes, allowing him to see an aerial view of his surroundings before he changed to his normal vision and waved to his Falcon.
"Excellent." Wu said before turning to his niece. "Lydie, the Anacondrai are as stealthy as they are strong, they're skin allows them to become completely invisible to the eye and their grip is unrelenting."
"Maybe, but being able to turn invisible is worthless if your opponent can rely on her other senses like hearing or smelling to find you." Lydie said as she then brought out a dust bomb pellet. "And a few ninja dust bombs, are pretty helpfully too." She added.
"Very good," Wu said. "I have trained you well. You are all ready."
"What about you, sensei? Will you fight?" Kai asked him. "We need all the help we can get."
"My concern is that my old bones cannot keep up, but I will be there in spirit," Wu told his pupils.
"We're arriving at the Mountain of a Million Steps," Nya told them over the PA. "You all might want to see this."
The mountain came into view and they could see the steps have been covered up with piles of dirt when they all look to the side.
"Look at all those piles of dirt." Jay pointed out.
"There wasn't this much dirt the last time, Cole, Zane and I were here." Lydie recalled.
"Which means we're at the right place." Wu said.
"What are those snakes up to?" Kai questioned.
"Wait for me." Lloyd called out as he rushed downstairs from the bridge.
"Sorry, Lloyd. This is not your fight. At least not yet." Lydie said as Lloyd walked up in front of his sister and uncle.
"Lydie is correct." Wu said in agreement as he place a hand on Lloyd's shoulder. "The Green Ninja is too important for a future destiny with his sister." He explained.
"But Lydie is important to destiny too." Lloyd pointed out. "Why isn't she's staying?"
"Sorry, Lloyd, but I've been training for longer and have more experience than you." Lydie stated. "And also, we just can't afford for you to get captured by the Serpentine again after you sneaked into their own turf last time." She added ruffling his hair.
Lloyd gave a sheepish look. "Okay, good point." He said.
"So you sha'll stay with me, nephew." Wu said, but then they saw Nya in her Samurai gear landing on deck.
"Well, they're gonna have to look after each other, because we made room for you." Nya told Wu as she pointed towards a seat on the mech's shoulders.
"Well, you said you were concerned that you couldn't keep up, so Jay and Nya rejiggered the design so you could come along," Kai explained.
"Well, what do you think, Uncle?" Lydie asked with a smirk behind her mask.
"I think... " Wu start before he popped on the seat. "Shotgun! Ha-ha!"
Garmadon then walked up to the deck. "I will stay back with Lloyd and the young ones," He said before shaking his head and looking towards his 'temporary' allies. "I don't enjoy saying this but... good luck." He said to them before looking at his daughter. "Be careful, dear." He said in concern.
"We'll be fine dad. Been doing this longer than Lloyd." Lydie said with an assuring smile before she turned to Umbra. "Umbra, you stay and guard the Bounty, girl. You're too big to fit in the tombs. Sorry." She said to her dragon as Umbra growled in understand as she flew to a clearing and rested closed by.
The group then went in the hole to the tomb of the Constrictai to find that the place having multiple cracks in the walls. "I thought you said this place would be heavily guarded, Zane," Jay whispered when they reached the bottom.
"Forgive me. Even Nindroids make mistakes," Zane told him.
Colethen noticed something. "Hey look at this."
They all looked over to the wall and saw goofy drawings of the Ninja with a mustache on one of them.
"Pfft. That doesn't even look like me," Jay said.
"Ah, they're gonna pay for that," Kai grunted.
Lydie looked especially red, "Come on, who ever heard of a girl with a mustache?" She asked as she tried to wipe it away only to reveal a hidden entrance. "Okay, that was unexpected." She said.
They all then went down the secret corridor to find the three Fangblades, they all entered the hidden cavern, looking down to see a huge room filled with Serpentine. They could overhear the four Serpentine Generals discussing the latest affairs.
"So, what happenssss when the Great Devourer is unleashed?" Fangtom asked his fellow generals. "Will it really consssume everything?"
"I hope so, if only to teach the sssurfacesss dwellersss a lesson for locking usss underground for ssso many yearsss," Skalidor said.
"Who knowsss if the legend is true? Or if the Great Devourer is even alive to this day." Acidicus spoke up.
"Well I, for one, am curiousss to sssee what happensss." Skales answered.
Burmesia then approached the four Generals. "Keep alert, my uncle ssshould be back sssoon." She said, "And keep your guard up, if we know thossse Ninja, they'll be trying sssomething sneaky right at thisss very moment."
"There's too many to deal with all at once," Kai said.
"Then we travel by shadow," Lydie suggested.
"I'm right behind you," Nya said.
"And I'm right behind you," Wu added. They all started sneaking down the stairs as Wu enjoyed a cup of tea.
Back on the Bounty, Lloyd walked into the bridge to find Garmadon typing something on the computer. On the screen look to be Blueprints and schematics for mechs and other things. "Transferring files," The computer said.
"Ah! You're stealing?" Lloyd asked his dad in disbelief as Garmadon gasped. "Dad, Lydie and the others are risking their lives to save Ninjago. Now you go behind their backs to gain an advantage?" He questioned.
"I'm sorry, Lloyd. But I can't help it." Garmadon explain in guilt. "Ever since the Devourer bit me, evil runs through my blood."
Lloyd looked at his father sadly, "You and mom left me and my sister for so long, where were you?" He asked.
"Son, there are places in thai world void of any good." Garmadon said, looking down at his hands. "Dark places."
"Like the place you sent Burmesia's father?" Lloyd asked as he looked at his father pleadingly, "Dad, I know the Serpentine are bad but, you'd never do something like, right? Please me tell it's not true."
Garmadon however sighed, "I'm afraid that's not that kind of dark place, Lloyd. The place I sent Arcturus and his followers to was, somewhere far worse." He said. "But I didn't have a choice. They asked for mercy, but I was out voted by the others when I banished them to that realm." He explained.
"So it is true, you took Burmesia's father from her." Lloyd said in shock. "You were against the banishment to that realm, but you still did it. And Burmesia saw me as a friend before she realized who I was and what you did." He pointed out.
"I'm sorry, Lloyd. But even back then it was out of my hand." Garmadon said, "And I've been to places that are dark reminder of what I've done and what I became."
"Is that where Uncle found you?" Lloyd asked.
"You know how I've always wanted your Grandfather's Golden Weapons," Garmadon asked them, as he raised up his arm. "Well, that place gave me the power to possess them."
"But why didn't you take me or Lydie with you?" Lloyd asked him.
Garmadon looked at him with a sad smile. "Every boy or girl has a choice to grow up to be whoever they want to be. But I never had that choice. Because I was bitten, evil runs through my veins." He frowned as he knelt to his son's level and placed a hand on his shoulder. "But you still have a choice. You and your sister don't need to be like me, Lloyd. Because you have the one thing I never had at your age: friends."
Lloyd gave his father a thoughtful look as he turned back to his father. "Your uncle has a plan for you and your sister, and even though it may be to stop me one day, we have to follow our own destiny." He said as he stood up. "And after I help the Ninja stop the Serpentine, I'll need to leave again."
"Then why don't you just leave now?!" Lloyd shouted at him, shocking him.
"Lloyd-" Garmadon spoke in shock.
"No, really!" Lloyd interrupted his father. "Go back to wherever evil place you came from!"
"All right, Operation Stealth was a total bust!" Nya said over the radio. "We're gonna need reinforcements! Anyone there?!" Garmadon was about to answer before Lloyd stopped him.
"We don't want your help, and we don't need you here!" Lloyd told his father. "Maybe it would have been better if you hadn't come back at all." He turned his back towards him.
Garmadon looked heartbroken as turned and left. "If-if that's how you feel," he remarked, clearly upset.
Lloyd turned to computer and frantically pressed the keys. "I'm trying to help, Aqua! Just hold on!" He called out.
Garmadon gave one last look to his son before he left.
Back with the others, lines of Serpentine were traveling down on the chains as the Ninja's cover had been blown. "Lloyd? Can you hear me?!" Aqua asked but got no response.
"Forget them. We need to fight back," Wu said as he poured his tea onto a Serpentine climbing on the mech. "Ninja, show them what you've learned!" He ordered as they all went at it.
Cole was then wrapped around by Skalidor. "Alwaysss wanted to make you my main sssqueeze." He taunted.
Cole started to loosen up. "Must relax…" He said quickly. "Think loose..." Soon, he managed to slip out of his coils.
"What?!" Skalidor asked in shock.
"Haha! Triple Tiger Sashay!" Cole called out before he flipped and kicked the general on the head before jumping off a Serpentine with his front hand and then head butt a Venomari as to knock all three down.
Meanwhile, Kai was dealing with the Hypnobrai General. "You're sssurrounded, young fire ssstarter," Skales taunted as he and a few Serpentine had Kai surrounded. "Perhapsss you can now do our bidding," He remarked as he began to use his hypnotic gaze on him.
"Ugh. Must not look!" Kai told himself as he quickly closed his eyes. "NINJA, GO!" He used his Spinjitzu with his eyes closed, attacking each Serpentine surrounding him. "I wish I could see me now, because you all just got 'Kai'd'!" he declared after sending them all flying when he stopped.
Lyide was then facing the Anacondrai with Burmesia leading them. "Ssso, the Daughter of Lord Garmadon, we finally meet face to face." Burmesia said with a small smirk.
"Wish is was under better circumstances." Lydie said with a glare. "But now, it's payback time for what you did to my brother." She added hatefully.
"Ha, how can you fight what you cannot sssee?" Burmesia said as she and the Anacondrai turned invisible.
Lydie stood there, closed her eyes and cleared her mind as she focused on her surroundings and listened closely, hearing the sounds of scales slithering across the ground. She then punched the air, which turned out to be Burmesia as she stood back and held her nose as she turn visible again.
"What?! But, how did you-?!" Burmesia tried to questioned as she rubbed her snout.
"Your scaly sounds gives you away." Lydie answered as she brought out a dust bomb. "And as for the rest of you…" She then threw the dust bomb to the ground as dust then appeared as she held her breath while Burmesia and the other Anacondrai all coughed as dust blanketed over the invisible snakes, giving away their position.
"Caught you dust handed." Lydie said as she then kicked, punch or blasted them back while also flipping Burmesia over the edge as she screamed. "That was for Lloyd!" She called out.
Jay was fighting off some Fangpyre as the General snuck behind him. The right headhead tried to bite him, but instead bit his armored are. "AAHHH!" He screamed in pain as he nursed his mouth.
"What, don't like the taste of defeat?" Jay mocked him as he tapped his armor. "Well, get used to it! Because I it's all you can eat!"
"Looking good," Nya flirted to Jay with her mech giving him a thumbs up.
Jay swooned. "Thanks you look great too," He said.
"Don't mean to interrupt the lovebirds, but we do have Fangblades to capture!" Zane called out from the bottom as he fended off some Serpentine.
"I don't 'Ssspit' ssso!" Acidicus mocked as he then spits his venom into Zane's eyes. Zane began to hallucinate the Serpentine as vegetables and fruit. He turned to see his friends rushing to aid him but saw them as food too.
Zane managed to remain calm, calling for his trump card. "Switching to Falcon Vision!" He called out as his Falcon watched the battle from above, allowing Zane to see everything from above to guide his fighting.
Pretty soon the group were pushing back the Serpentine and in the center of the room they found what they were looking for.
"Look, the Fangblades!" Kai called out as they saw the three Fangblades being held in the center of the chamber surround by sickly green mist.
"Now's our chance to grab 'em and go!" Lydie called out.
"I'll let you have the honors, Kai." Cole said.
"Oh no. After you." Kai replied.
Cole nodded as he rushed to the Fangblades, but then two claws suddenly appeared from the bottom as they grabbed his arm and Cole dropped his Scythe. "Aah! It's a trap!" He warned the others before a cage fell on top of them by surprise.
"Oh come on! Seriously?!" Lydie called out.
They soon heard laughter as they turned to see Pythor with his scouting party, and worst of all… with the final Fangblade. "Come, come, can this get any better? Seriously, they fell right into my trap," He boasted and turned to his troops. "Well done, my friends. Now with the Ninja now in our clutches, Ninjago is poised for us to awaken the Great Devourer and take our revenge!"
"Oh, this isn't good," Kai groaned as the cage started to lift up. "Where's Lloyd when you need him?"
Lloyd was still in the bridge as he tried to figure out how to work the consols as he gave a determined look and rushed out of the room, down into his uncle's quarters, opened the cabinet and pulled out the Green Gi.
A little bit later, Lloyd went back into the bridge with a determined smile while wearing the Green Gi. "The Green Ninja of Yang is here to save the day." He declared as he rushed back to the consol as Nya' spoke through it again.
"Lloyd? Llord Garmadon? Is anyone there?" Nya speak through the consol.
"It's me, Nya! I'm here!" Lloyd answered. "But my dad left. How are things holding up?" He asked as static is heard.
Back in the underground fortress, the Ninja, Nya and Wu were trapped still trapped in the cage but had all their weapons, armor and even NYa's suit stripped from them and chained up. Though luckily for Nya, who learned her lesson from last time, had her dress under her armor.
"Nya? Hello?" Lloyd spoke through the mech but there was some static.
Nya threw a rock at the mech as its comm was working again. "We're fine, but we're a little held up at the moment. Our weapons have been taken, and we're lock in cages." She told him.
"And Pythor's returned with the fourth Fangblade," Cole explained.
"Lloyd, where did dad go?" Lydie asked her brother.
"I told him to leave," Lloyd answered. "He was trying to steal secrets."
"Ha. Big surprise there," Kai said sarcastically. "I told you about that guy, but you guys wouldn't listen."
"Not now, Kai." Lydie said with a slight look of annoyance.
"My dad's going back the way he came from. But don't worry, I'll save you!" Lloyd said.
"You are not ready, Lloyd," Wu told him with concern. "The your destinies are too great to risk."
"I hate to brake it to you Sensei, but if we don't get out of here before Pythor unleashes the Great Devourer, it may be the end of all our destinies!" Cole reminded him.
"And my brother's destiny won't be fulfilled if I'm not there with him." Lydie added since she is part of the prophecy as well.
"Ugh, I'll get you out of there in a jiff." Lloyd said as he went to the weapon cabinet to takes some gear. But the moment he grabbed something, all the weapon fell on top of him. "Ouch." He moaned.
The Serpentine all gathered around as Pythor placed the final Fangblade with the others in a golden holder, "Together, brothersss and sssistersss, we have taken back the four Fangblades!" Pythor announced as he looked out to his army. "When we return them to the city of Ouroborosss, together we will unleash the Great Devourer and finally take Ninjago, asss our own!" All the Serpentine cheered as the heroes watched on in horror. Pythor held up all four blades in triumph. "To the city of Ouroborosss!" he declared before a Anacondrai walked up to him.
"Forgive me sssir, but we ssspent so much time digging thisss underground fortresss underneath the people of Ninjago'sss very feet, it would be a ssshame not to ussse it a little bit more," he pointed out.
"At leasssst let usss celebrate in capturing the ninjasss," Acidicus suggested as the rest of the Serpentine liked that idea.
"We do deserve thisss after all we've done." Selma said as Skales nodded in agreement.
Burmesia leaned over to Pythor. "Give them thisss victory today, uncle, and tomorrow we shall return the Fangbladesss to Ouroborosss." She whispered to him. "We have worked ourssselvesss to the ssscalesss to find the Fangblades and make this fortresss. They dessserve a break."
Pythor frowned, concerned that Ninja would use this early celebration to make a plan to escape, but sighed, knowing his niece is right. "Oh very well. But I don't want anyone here to let their guard down while the Ninja are under lock and key, underssstood?" He asked as Burmesia nodded in understanding as Pythor turned to the five tribe. "Then tonight, we celebrate our victory, with a Slither Pit!"
The Serpentine cheered and drew their weapons as two at a time took center stage for the fights. The group either watched them from the change above, meditated while they waited, played a game of checkers with small stones or items from their pockets, or paced about the cage. "Guess you were right to have me keep my clothes with me." Nya said to Lydie.
"Be glad that the snakes weren't that cruel when they took our weapons." Lydie said with a small smile. "And good call to keep your clothes under your samurai gear, Water Girl."
"Yeah, because if I didn't that would've been ten times as embarrassing." Nya said as the two laughed together.
"Ugh, so all we can do is just wait? This is killing me." Kai granted as he was pacing around.
"Patience. Lloyd will figure out something," Wu told Kai.
"We're putting all of our trust in the son of the greatest villain Ninjago has ever seen." Kai reminded them. "Uh, is anyone else having doubts about this plan?" He asked before Lydie threw a rock at his head. "Ow!" He yelled out.
"Dude, that's my brother and my father your talking about." Lydie said firmly with a glare.
"Heheh, uh, sorry, Captain." Kai apologized nervously while rubbing his head. "But what I'm saying is that Lloyd never had training like us, so if tries a rescue it's gonna end with him falling on his face in the middle of the enemy." He pointed out.
"Heh, you're right." Lydie said, not deining the fact that her brother is clumsy and haven't trained yet as she walked up to the edge of the cage. "But just because you guys don't have your weapons doesn't mean we can't use our powers." She said as she looked at where the Golden Weapons are chained up as she closed her eyes. "Just need to focus." She said as she reached our her hands to try and bring out her powers.
But for some reason she couldn't feel them, "Grr, why isn't it working?" Lydie growled in frustration.
"The cage is built out of Vengestone. " Wu answered as Lydie and the others turned to him. "A rare mineral in Ninjago that nullifies elemental power, your abilities are rendered useless here." He explained.
Lydie was shocked as she looked at her uncle. "Okay, seriously? Again with the last minute reveal? What is up with that, Uncle?" She questioned in annoyance. "Because that would've been nice to know what are the drawback our elemental powers are!" She pointed out.
"I find the real world experience is the most effective mentor." Wu answer as Lydie groaned in aggravation.
"If we survived this, I'll show you how effective experience are." Lydie grumbled in frustration as she kicked the cage. "So we don't have our weapons and now we can't use our powers. This really is a ninja proof cage." She said in annoyance.
"Patience. Things will work out." Wu advised.
Kai then noticed the hair oil Jay was using to play checkers with, "Maybe, not completely Ninja proof." He said with a plan coming to him.
Kai then picked up the hair oil from the sketched checker board. "Hey, that hair oil was just about to be kinged." Jay complained.
"Yeah? Well, I just about to get us out of here," Kai said as he poured some of the hair oil on his hand and rubbed it on himself.
Whoa, greaseball!" Cole shouted when he saw what Kai was doing. "How about warning us before you do that?"
"Unh. You can make jokes all you want, but I don't think we need our special powers to get out of here." Kai said as he walked over to the bars. "Just a little ingenuity." He added as he squeezed through the bars and slipped out.
"He made it." Jay said.
"Look at that." Zane commented.
"Nice one, Kai." Lydie said.
"All right, slickster." Cole complimented, "But now what?"
"Now, we quietly do a little ball and chain," Kai whispered before he quietly reached for the nearest chain and pulled it towards him. They would watch as he put the chain around the bar of the cage before lowering themselves down. The Serpentine continued their Slither Pit as Kai went lower till he were close to the bottom.
On the arena floor a Fangpyre and Venomari were fighting before the Venomari came out victorious. Then the fight master, an Anacondrai named Boaton, spoke through a microphone, "Let'sss change the game ssshall we?!" He declared before he went over to lever as images on the floor spun like a lottery machine before it landed on the symbol of snake head over a puddle of acid, "Vat of Venom!"
The Serpentine cheered as Boaton pulled another lever as Kai saw the floor open up revealing a pool of bubbling acid and narrow walkways, "Next two fighters!" Boston declared as a Hypnobrai and Constrai took their places on the arena, fighting along the narrow crack-shaped floor pieces as the Hypnobrai was pushing the Constrictai back.
Kai then started swinging the chain as the cage moved. "It's working, keep going." Kai encourage.
"Come on, guys. Let's see if we can through our weight around." Lydie said as she and the others started running around the cage as they made it swing side to sided.
"Come on. More speed." Jay encourage.
Little did any of them know that Pythor noticed Kai was out of the cage, "Jussst asss I thought." He said to himself before he slithered off.
"Next one and I've got it," Trail whispers as he started to swing on the final chain. Once he swing far enough, they leaped off it and grabbed hold of the edge right where Pythor grabbed his arm.
"Ah, ah, ah," Pythor spoke to them with a smirk. "Trying to leave the party early, are we?" He asked.
Kai gave Pythor a nervous grin and a chuckle. "Heh. I bet this looks kind of bad, doesn't it, huh?" he asked before they were placed back in the cage, and this time… all their right arms had been chained to the bars so they could not try escaping again.
"Greaaat, we're in such a better place than we were before!" Cole said sarcastically to Kai.
"And now we can't even play checkers," Zane lamented.
"And I was about to king, Kai!" Jay exclaimed.
"It was a great plan, but not a successful one, Kai." Lydie honestly said. "Now all we can do is wait for my brother to rescue us."
Nya then turn to Wu. "Don't worry, Sensei, me and Lydie have faith in Lloyd." She said, knowing that Lloyd will save them.
Back outside, Lloyd got off of the Bounty as he ran up the mountain.
"Ninja roll!" Lloyd said as he rolled. "Flying Drag-Whoa!" He tripped as the others stopped before standing back up. "Ninja-Recover!" He then ran up to the entrance. "Ninja roll!" He called out before he rolled down to the entrance before he hit a few bumps as he groaned before he use the rope to slide down the entrance.
Deep beneath the fortress, while the Serpentine celebrated, the heroes remained trapped in the cage, sitting in defeat. Suddenly, Kai noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
"Hey, look up there!" Kai told the others and then they saw the Lloyd peaking up from the ledge.
"It's Lloyd!" Lydie said in joy at seeing her brother as they stood up and smiled at him.
Lloyd looked down and saw his friends and family in the cage and below the Fangblaeds guarded by dozens of Serpentine.
"Come on, Lloyd." Lloyd said to himself as he stood up. "You can do this." He said as he ran down the path, but he tripped as he tumbling down to the bottom and was grunting in pain the whole way down. "OW! OOF! OUCH! THAT ONE HURT! OH MY LEG!" He called out as the others cringed from that as they followed Lloyd tumbling down the slope.
The Serpentine were watching two of them in the Slither Pit before Lloyd rolled past them before he stopped right in front of them. The Serpentine gasped in surprise and looked at each other before Lloyd quickly stood up. "I really gotta grow into this thing," Lloyd groaned as he looked at his Gi.
"Told ya." Kai said to Lydie as she covered her face in embarrassment.
"He just need training." Lydie said while shaking her head. "Lots of training."
Lloyd then turned to Pythor and Burmesia. "Well, if we don't meet again, Pythor P. Chumsworth and Burmesia, daughter of General Arturus!" Lloyd declared dramatically as Pythor looked at them in surprise. "Unhand the ninja or suffer humiliation against the Green Ninja!" He declared as he did a heroic pose.
The Serpentine were silent before Pythor and Burmesia erupted in laughter as if he was joking and the other the Serpentine joined in.
"Oh, yeah?! You and what army?!" Pythor asked them, knowing none of them has anything to back them up.
"That'sss real funny, Lloyd!" Burmesia laughed. "Because you ssshould know that you are outnumbered! Did you even bring an army!?" She laughed.
Lloyd looked around as he realizes that both Pythor and Burmesia are right once he saw he was severely outnumbered. "Uh, um, I did! My uh, my Army of Fists!" He called out as he swing his fists around before he regain his balance.
That only caused the Serpentine to laugh at them more… until a familiar voice spoke up. "Or this army!"
They all turned to see Lord Garmadon along with the Skeleton Army on ledge.
"Dad!" Both Lloyd and Lydie shouted in surprise to see their father had returned and with some help.
Garmadon turned to his son."Lloyd, you and your friends helped me realized I do have a choice," He said before turning his attention to Pythor. "If there is anyone is going to threaten Ninjago, it better well be me!"
"The Skeleton Army?!" Pythor shouted in shock. "But why would they fight beside you?! You betrayed them and Samukai long ago!" He pointed out.
"Because everybody hate snakes!" Kruncha retorted, which caused the Skeleton Army to laughed at them.
"Attack!" Pythor roared to his army.
"Attack!" Garmadon and Kruncha roared as well as the armies of Snakes and Bones charged at each other.
Pythor the pulled a lever as the cage holding the heroes began to move.
"Hey! We're moving!" Jay said.
Cole looked down and looked scared. "Yeah, the wrong way!" He called out as they looked down to see they were heading towards the lake of poisonous liquid.
Selma punched a skeleton back before he turned to see Nuckal babbling while doing an odd dance.
"Are you ssserious?" Selma chuckled before Kruncha came up behind her and whacked her with a bone.
"She never saw it coming," Kruncha said.
"Uh, saw what coming?" Nuckal asked before Kruncha literally made his head spin.
As the cage continued to sink the heroes climbed up the bars to avoid getting melted along with the floor. Nya looked to her right and smiled. "Lloyd!" She cheered.
Lloyd used his smaller size to slip past the warriors, over to the levers and pulled them to stop the cage from sinking. He pulled a lever which freed the older ponies from their shackles. He then pulled another lever that lowered the Ninja's weapons and Nya's suit.
"Told ya I'd save you!" Lloyd smiled as Lydie patted his head.
"Go, ninja, go." Lydie said to her brother as they grabbed their weapons while Nya got into her mech and Wu got into the seat.
"NINJA, GO!" All five ninjas did Spinjitzu as they knocked back a few Serpentine.
Within the fight, Pythor was trying to get away with the four Fangblades before Garmadon stood in his way with a scythe and a sword in his hands. Pythor used his staff to block each attack Garmadon before Burmesia jumped in and attacked him back.
Garmadon starred at her, "So, you are Arcturus's daughter, correct?" He asked.
"That'sss right, and you ssshouldn't have come here." Burmeisa hissed in hate, pointing her spear to Garmadon, "My uncle told me what you did to my father, and now I'm going to return the favor!" She yelled out as she clashed her spear with Garmadon's swords as they each exchanged blows.
"Even when I'm like this, I still believe your father deserved better!" Garmadon yelled out. "He was an honorable leader, one I admired! I've regretted what I did to him since the day he was banished!"
"Liar!" Burmesia yelled as she pushed him back as she glared at him. "My father dreamt that we could coexissst with each other! But you humansss would never accept usss, and then you took him away from me!" She yelled as she rushed at Garmadon as the two clashed. "I would've underssstand if he wasss intombed or in prisssoned after all thessse yearsss, but giving him a fate like that, isss unforgivable, essspecially when you plotted to betray the truce he gave you!" She yelled out.
Garmadon was surprised by what she just said. "W-What? He, we, we thought he was the one who was going to betray the truce." He muttered in shock, but Burmesia was too blinded by rage and vengeance as she pushed him back.
Burmesia turned to Pythor. "Uncle, get out of here, now!" She called out.
Pythor nodded as he slither away "So long, sucker!" He shouted as he looked back at Garmadon being held back by Burmesia, frowning.
But before he thought he was home free he bumped into Lydie and dropped the Fangblades. Lydie looked at the Fangblades and then back at Pythor, "Going somewhere, long-neck?" She mocked.
At that moment Pythor knew, he screwed up, "Oh dear." He muttered before he hissed at them after Lydie raised her staff at him, which made him turn invisible.
Lydie was surprised by this. "Where did he go?" She asked while looking around.
"Who cares? We got the Fangblades." Kai pointed out. "Let's get Garmadon and get out of here." He declared.
Back where Burmesia and Garmadon are fighting, Burmesia used her tail to knock Garmadon off his feet as she stared down at him. "For my father." She said as she raised her spear directly at his face.
Garmadon gazed in worry before Lloyd yelled and socked Burmesia in the face, knocking her away from him as Burmesia glared at Lloyd. "Lloyd!" She sneered.
"Stay back, Burmesia. Nobody hurts dad but me!" Lloyd declared as Garmadon got up and rejoined the fight.
Burmesia growled. "Why mussst you have a family sssince my uncle isss the only one I have left?!" She yelled in rage and bit of sadness. "I looked up to my father, he wasss honorable and wasss my hero, and hisss fate was at the handsss of yoursss!"
"Maybe, but getting revenge won't bring him back." Lloyd told her as he walked up to her, "We all have a choice to be whoever we want to be, so are you going are you going to be like Pythor or like your dad?"
Burmesia looked at Lloyd in shock by what he said as she looked at the fighting her kind is battling while looking at her reflection in her spear to see her broken face, which showed how her father would be if he was here as she was conflicted on what kind of leader she should be: a leader of revenge or a leader of honor.
To be like her uncle or her father.
That's when it hit her like brinks when she recounted the attempts and plans Pythor played out since he lead the Serpentine, realizing how all those things were wrong and not how her father wanted. "W-What have I done?" Burmesia asked herself in shock as she dropped her spear, realizing how ashamed her father would've been. She then turned to Lloyd with steel expression, "Go with your friendsss, Lloyd, I'll try and convince my people that thisss isssn't the right path." She said.
Lloyd gave a smile under his mask as he nodded to Burmesia. "Good luck, Burmesia." He said as he rushed to his friends. "Alright, guys, now we can go!" He called out.
"NINJA, GO!" The five ninjas did Spinjitzu the knock away a few Serpentine blocking their path their way out as Garmadon, Wu, Lloyd and Nya followed.
"Don't worry about us!" Nuckal told them. "We'll keep fighting the good fight!"
Kai stopped spinning and give them a thumbs up. "Thanks for the help."
"I never thought I'd be saying this but... GO, NINJA, GO!" Kruncha cheered as the ninjas made it out with the four blades.
Once everyone was back on the Destiny's Bounty, it took off into the sky with Umbra following.
Inside the ship Garmadon was packing a suitcase as Lloyd and Lydie entered the room. "You're leaving?" Lloyd asked their father, not sounding surprised.
"Now that you are safe Lloyd, and the Ninja have the Fangblades, there is nothing else I am needed for," Garmadon told his son as he picked up his suitcase.
"We need you, father." Lydie admitted with tears in her eyes as Lloyd nodded in agreement with the same expression.
Garmadon looked towards his children with surprise before they both looked down as they knew some day, they would have to fight each other. "We know you have to leave .dad. But do know this: When we meet again," Lloyd started.
"We're gonna do everything in my power to defeat you." Lydie declared.
Garmadon then padded their heads. "I wouldn't have it any other way," Garmadon said with a small smile before he turned to leave. "Oh, and kids? You're a good childrens. Soon you'll be a great things. Although we're now on opposite sides, I'm still very proud of you both."
"Thanks, Dad," Lloyd told his father before he and Lydie turned to join the others on the bridge.
"Wait," The two turned back to Garmadon as reached behind him and pulled out a locket, "You should know that while I was in the Underworld, there was something that drove me to keep moving forward." He said looking at the locket longingly before handing it to Lydie as she opened it, "It was the love I had for you both and…for her." Garamadon finished as Lydie and Lloyd starred at the image of a young man with Lydie's hair and red eyes, holding a young woman who looked like Lydie but had Lloyd's hair color, both smiling as the man held a 4 year old who looked like Lydie and the woman holding a baby with Lloyd's eyes and hair.
Lydie and Lloyd knew who they were, but they starred at the woman specifically "M-Mom?" Lydie asked as she and her brother teared up at the picture before they looked at their father. "Thanks, Da-" She stopped when they saw Garmadon was already gone.
"Looks like he's off." She said sadly.
"Yeah. So long, Dad." Lloyd sadly said as he and Lydie hug each other in comfort, knowing that they will see him again, but when they do, it wouldn't be a happy reunion
On the bridge, everyone was celebrating their victory of getting all four Fangblades as they were all dancing to the music while a disco ball was shining around the room. On the table in the middle of the room are the four Fangblades. The boys wore their casual clothes while Nya is wearing a dress that looks like the one she wore on her first date with Jay, but with light blue color.
Lloyd and Lydie entered the bridge with solemn looks, and out of their gis, as Nya walked up to them. "He left, didn't he?" She guessed sympathetically as the two nodded in confirming as Nya offered them two cups. "Then have some Snogfruit punch." She offered as they accepted it. "Cole made it and it's actually not bad." She added.
Lydie took a sip and smiled, "You're right." She commented as Lloyd did the same.
"To Lloyd's and Lydie's dad." Nya called out as she raised her cup.
"Hear, hear!" The others all cheered as they raised their cups as well.
Lydie and Lloyd smiled at their friends. "To Dad." They both said as they raised their cups as well.
"Tomorrow we arrive at Torchfire Mountain to destroy these Fangblades once and for all." Wu declared while gesturing to the Fangblades on the table before giving the Garmadon siblings a smile. "And it couldn't have been done without your father." He said to them before giving a solemn look as well. "I'm going to miss him." He added, actually going to miss his brother and working on the same side like they used to before his full corruption.
Lydie nodded but still smiled, "Us too uncle. But we know that even though we're without our father," She said, pulling Lloyd in close and gestured to everyone in the room, "We're not without family." She said as Wu smiled with a nod as they all cheered as they enjoy the party.
But then outside the bridge next to the door, Pythor then suddenly appeared, revealing that he snuck aboard the bounty before they took off. "Oh, but you're going to be without family and ssso much more when I get through with you, Ninja." He said as he rubbed his hands together as he gave an evil laugh.
It seemed that even though the Ninja succeeded in taking back the Fangblades, soon it would be revealed that it was All for Nothing.
