Ninjago City, once a bustling metropolis until the Stone Army attacked, facing its citizens to retreat from it temporarily, leaving their once great city a desolate area.
And now it was serve as the stage for the final clash between good and evil.
The sky turned dark and in a single spot was a spiral of white.
Dareth's the kicked both Kozu and Narmaka, tied up, out of Dojo and onto the streets. "Heh, I told you they do it." Dareth said as he and the Ninja's friends and family came out of the dojo when they saw what was happening. "Whoa."
"Ooh. Is it the Ninja?" Edna asked in excitement.
"It must be!" Lou shouted with glee.
"The Ninja have won?" A boy asked in excitement.
"Ha-ha. We're saved!" Lou cheered.
"About time." Brad complained with his arms crossed.
"Now to get this place back in order." Lou declared.
The Emperor however thought otherwise, "No, it is not the Ninja." He said, ceasing the early celebrations.
"He's right, it's something else." Susan said in concern as Kozu and Narmaka laughed, "What's so funny?" She demanded.
"Our master has come." Kozu answered.
Dareth was the first to realize something was wrong. "What the...?" he said before in a big flash the Garmatron rolled up onto the streets with the Stone Army behind it. "What is that?"
They looked up and saw the Overlord with Nya beside him, riding on Garmatron.
"Wait, is that Nya?" Nao asked frighteningly.
"It appears so but, who is that creature?" The Empress wondered, pointing to the Overlord.
At the sight, the crowd began to ran off, leaving Dareth, Susan and Neo alone, facing the Overlord as Dareth bravely walked in front of the tank and glared at the Overlord as the monstrous creature chuckled in amusement at him while Susan and Neo backed away a bit. "All right!" Dareth shouted. "You will have until the count of three to leave here before I unleash the power of one: HEE-YAH! The dragon," he waved his arms in the air. "Two: Penguin," he waddled like a penguin.
"Um, Dareth?" Nao said worriedly as the Overlord pressed a button on the console and gun torrents and right at Dareth.
"T-Two and a half-" Dareth said, now scared.
"Three." The Overlord finished as he pressed the big red button and the guns started to fire right at Dareth but he quickly jumped out of the way just in time as the Dark Matter splat on the ground. Dareth watched as the Dark Matter started to spread on the ground before he looked at the Overlord.
"What is that stuff?!" Susan questioned.
"Don't know! But it looks like it's spreading!" Neo called out as she saw the dark mattered spread closer on the ground. "I'm thinking we shouldn't touch that stuff!" She suggested.
"Good idea." Dareth agreed before looking to the Overlord smugly, "Ha-ha! You missed!" He mocked before the guns aimed at them again.
"Oh, no." The three said in unison and in dread
The guns started to fire more Dark Matter at them as Darethquickly got up and he and Susan and Neo started to run for it. "Aah! Aah!" The Overlord laughed his head off as he watched them frantically bobbing and weaving away from each blast from the guns as he felt his evil growing.
The three quickly hid behind a corner from the blasts before Dareth looked around the corner and shot a glare at him. "We shall meet again! This I swear!" A blast nearly hit him and he screamed in fear when it hit the corner.
"We gotta get out of here!" Susan called out.
"But where are the Ninja?!" Nao yelled as they ran away.
"Where ever they are, I hope they come soon!" Dareth screamed.
Both Kozu and Narmaka freed themselves from the ropes as the Ultimate Weapon rolled down the street and continued to fire Dark Matter everywhere, with the Samu-Taurs following behind.
As more and more of Ninjago began to corrupt into darkness, the Overlord began to change as a pair of wings started to grow on his back. The Stone Army continued Marching as their master changed into a new form and took flight.
Meanwhile on the Dark Island, the marooned heroes looked out to see at their corrupted home while and Misako tended to the Garma-Twins.
Lloyd had a cast of his leg while Lydie had a blindfold over hers eyes to help them heal. "Can we still fight?" Lloyd asked them.
Dr. Julien however sighs. "I'm sorry. That leg would take weeks to heal and who knows how long before Lydie's vision will return, if it will return at all."
"We don't have time for that!" Lydie pointed out since they can't wait that long for their injuries to heal since the Overlord is corrupting Ninjago right now and getting stronger. "We need to stop the Overlord!" She added.
Misako kept a hand on her shoulder, "Patience dear, we will stop them but we must wait until our time comes." She said before looking down sadly, "And no thanks to me."
Lydie could hear her mother's tone, "Mom…" She started.
"I'm sorry Lydie, I wasted all those years I could've been raising you myself, trying to prevent something that couldn't be stop, all I did was delay the inevitable." Misako said as she had some tears in her eyes.
Lydie frowned and stood up as she turned to her mom, "Mom, you were just trying to find a way to keep our family from fighting while trying to keep us together." She spoke in an assuring tone. "The only one to blame is the Overlord and he will pay for what he's done. You can bet on it!" She promised.
Misako looked at her daughter in awe but a little awkwardly, "Um, dear? I'm over here." She said as Lydie was facing away from Misako.
Lydie perked up as she waved around before turning and facing her mother as she touched her shoulder. "Oh, there you are." She said sheepishly while feeling embarrassed. "But seriously, you've been trying to find a way to prevent the final battle, that you were trying to keep this family together. And we don't blame you. You've spent years researching on the prophecy that we were this close in preventing the final battle by stoping the clock, but we were just not fast enough." She assured. "But as you know in Ninjago, the past is the past." She added with a small smile.
Misako gave a small smile from that. "And the future is the future." She finished as she gave Lydie a hug.
Lloyd smiled at them before he groaned as Dr. Julien touched his foot while checking it as the others were looking out towards the ocean when they saw dark clouds over Ninjago.
"The final battle, between good and evil, will be settled this very day." Wu sighed, looking towards Ninjago.
Kai then groan in frustration. "And we can't even get to the fight, much less get off this island!" He called out as he threw a rock into the ocean.
Jay let out a sad sigh. "I wonder if I'll ever get to see Nya again." He asked as Zane place a hand on Jay's shoulder.
"Perhaps it's best to think of our friends as we remember them in our hearts." Zane suggested as Dr. Julien helped Lloyd while Misako guided Lydie over to them.
"But I don't remember father any other way," Lloyd told them.
"Same here. The only thing we remember about father is bad, evil and villainous." Lydie added as she raised her fingers
"Your father loved you both," Misako told them. "It was the evil of the Great Devourer that corrupted him."
"Sensei, I don't understand," Kai spoke up. "The prophesy said the Ninja of Yin & Yang would defeat the Dark Lord." He then threw another stone as it skipped a few times along the water. "Why didn't we win?" He asked.
Wu just shook his head sadly. "I… don't know." He said.
The others were shocked. "Don't know?!" Jay repeated. "B-but you're Sensei Wu! You always know! You're over a thousand years old! You have a long white beard!" He pointed out.
"There must be some message to learn," Kai said. "A lesson. A word of wisdom. Just a word? Something…" He looked to Wu desperately.
"For once, I'm afraid there is nothing to learn," Wu said with a defeated tone he looked upon their home being corrupted. "Only that evil has won."
Lydie sighed, "Well if Uncle believes it's hopeless, then we're doomed." She said as they all lowered their heads.
All except for one, and that one was Harumi. The girl looked at her friends, seeing their faces were like hers after she lost everything when the Great Devourer attacked: Hopelessness, depression and defeat.
Harumi then gave a determined look as she doesn't want her friends to go down in defeat "If Sensei Wu doesn't have a lesson, then I do," She spoke up. "For starters from what I learned, Lloyd used to be nothing but trouble, but then he met you guys. You took him. Showed him the importance of being brave, being strong. And most importantly, being good." She pointed out. "When I lost my birth parents when I first met you guys, I was filled with sadness and hate, wanting you to feel the pain I did, but as I spent time I learned the strength in forgiveness, in trust and above all, in friendship." She said as she looked at Lloyd with a smile
Lloyd looked at Harumi back with a smile as she turned to the group, "When this battle first began, when the First Spinjitzu Master fought the Overlord and his back was up against the wall and he knew it was all over, did he quit? No. He found a way to keep the fight going. He passed his Elemental Powers to you." She reminded them, "Of all people, a bunch of kids. But there must have been a reason he chose you. I believe it's because he knew that kids like us never back down, we'd never give up. We've learned to fight for what we believe in as Ninja. And a Ninja never quit." She encouraged.
Lydie got what she was saying and smiled in confidence, "She's right. I don't care if I can't see, smell or hear for the rest of my life, I'm gonna find a way to Ninjago kick the Overlord's butt if it's the last thing I do." She declared.
"And we're gonna keep fighting the good fight until the end." Lloyd continued with a determined look. "We won't quit until we've stopped the Overlord and avenged our father for what the Overlord did to him and save Ninjago."
"They're right." Kai said, feeling inspired. "If that means we have to to swim across the sea to get off this island, then so be it." He added as he walked into the water.
Jay looked shocked. "The entire ocean?! But I'm not a good swimmer," he admitted as Kai groaned at the wet feeling.
"Well if you got a better plan." Cole said to them.
"I don't," Zane shook his head before he smiled and looked up, "but he may." He pointed up to his Falcon as he flew away.
"The Falcon! He must've found something!" Dr. Julien said.
"Well then what are we waiting for?! Follow that bird!" Lydie declared as she started running but she tripped and fell face first in the dirt, "Oh, I meant to do that." She groaned.
"Maybe it's best you hold onto a buddy to guide you, Captain." Cole suggested.
"You guys forget that I fought the Anacondrai snakes when they were invisible without even seeing them." Lydie said pridefully as she stood up. "So I think I could manage to…" She was cut off before she hit a tree branch on the head as she fell to the floor as the others cringe. "...Get a partner to help me." She groaned as she rubbed her head.
"I got you, dear." Misako said as she helped her daughter up. "It's best if we stay together so you don't break anything." She suggested.
Lydie slumped her shoulders. "Okay, Mom." She said as she was guided back to the others. "I really should've practiced not relying on my eyes more." She muttered to herself as she hoped she get her vision back soon.
The group soon followed the Falcon to the mountain of the Temple of Light, Kai using his mech to help carry up anyone.
Once they reached the top however, they were confused. "He brought us back to the Temple?" Zane asked. "I do not understand. We've already been here."
Misako then took out a scroll and looked at the drawing. "This location, I've seen this before. I just never understood it," She said as they all walked in.
Kai used his Elemental Blade to clear away the cobwebs and saw a slot that looked like his blade could go in in one of the pillars.
"I think I found something," Kai old the others. "It's just like the drawing on the scroll." He then walked up to the pillar and insert his blade into the slot as it glowed bright.
"There's one more over there." Wu said while pointing at the other pillar.
"And here." Dr. Julien pointed at another.
"And over here." Misako finished while pointing at the last pillar.
Jay, Cole and Zane then took out their blades and slide them into the slots. The Temple then rumbled and shook.
"What is it?" Kai asked as the floor where Lydie and Lloyd had their marks opened up and rising up was a golden mech.
"Cool!" Jay said in awe at the sight of the suit.
Misako gasped as she looked at the suit once it had fully risen up, "It is the Golden Mech the First Spinjitzu Master used when he battled the Overlord." She said.
"Wait, our Grandfather had a mech?" Lydie asked in surprise, since she can't see she was still shock. "Wow, didn't realize he had one." She commented.
Cole then got excited. "You mean, the First Spinjitzu master once sat here?" He asked as he hopped into the cockpit of the suit. "Haha! Get out of here. How do you make this thing work?"
Dr. Julien examining the mech and just sigh. "Sadly, I think time's done her in," She said. "She's only a relic now."
Wu then dusted his father's the mech with his hand. "If it worked for the First Spinjitzu Master, then perhaps it will work for a Second Spinjitzu Master?" He pondered as he smiled at Lloyd and Lydie.
"I think that's for you, Lloyd." Lydie said with a finger raised. "Because one, gold is more your element. And two, I still can't see and I'd rather not squash someone who isn't the Overlord."
"Good call." Lloyd said in understand. "It's worth a shot!" He then climbing up the mech as Cole jumped out of the cockpit and Lloyd took his place.
"Hey, watch out!" Cole warned as he hopped off.
Lloyd fiddled with the controls but the Mech did not move. "Hmm, nothing," he said before the Mech started moving around and glowing. "Whoa!" Lloyd exclaimed uneasily as the Mech bent its knees.
"I can hear it's working!" Lydie cheered.
"Whoa!" Cole shouted in awed as Lloyd move the arm to held up the sword.
"Looking good!" Kai cheered.
"Killer!" Jay complemented.
"Amazing!" Zane commented.
Harumi smiled at her best friend, "How's the leg feeling now, Hero boy?" She asked.
Lloyd raised the Mech's leg as it's rocket booster went off, "Stronger!" He declared before stomping the foot down and raising his sword high.
"Well it's obvious how he's getting to Ninjago and how he's gonna fight the Overlord, but what am I suppose to ride and how do the rest of us get back?" She asked with a bit of jealousy before she perked up and heard the sound of wings flapping, "Wait, do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" Zane asked.
"I hear wings flapping. Like two pairs at different sync." Lydie said as she turned to the direction of the entrance as she heard a pair of distance roars, five different roars. "I know those roars anywhere!" She with a smile.
And then the rest of them heard the roars as they got louder and louder. "Wait, I hear them too. It's Umbra and Ultra!" Jay announced with his arms raised.
Lydie ran out the entrance as she stopped when she heard Umbra and Ultra landing right in front of them. "Umbra! Hey, girl!" She cheered as she heard four heads on right side and one head on the left as she rushed off to the left and hugged Umbra's head. "Oh, am I glad to hear you and that you're not corrupted!" She said in relief.
The others smiled as well as the boys ran up to Ultra and hugged his heads too, "I believe, we just found our way off this rock!" Wu said with new hope.
Lydie then smirked, "Mount up everyone, we're taking a flight to the final fight!" She declared.
Lloyd rode in the Golden Mech, Lydie rode on Umbra and the others ride on Ultra, they flew towards Ninjago over the sea of clouds. They look around to see if they find a sign if they really made it as Kai spotted something below.
"I see Ninjago! We're not far away!" Kai shouted as he pointed to a purple light below.
"Oh, you sure that's Ninjago?" Cole asked uncertainly after seeing the state Ninjago is in.
Lloyd and Lydie then dove down as Ultra and the others followed they broke cloud cover and found themselves flying over Ninjago City but were horrified at what they saw.
"Oh, my goodness." Wu gasped.
"No." Harumi said in horror.
"This can't be Ninjago." Jay denied.
"It is, just not the one we remembered." Lloyd said slowly as they flew over the city.
They then stopped next to a very tall tower in the heart of the city as it gave off a dark light on top of it.
"What is that thing?" Kai asked slowly.
"Garmatron," Sensei Wu answered as they look down and saw the Stone Army standing guard with barricades at the base of the tower.
"It's turned into a fortress?" Miasko asked in surprise.
"What kind of fortress are we talking about? Because I can hear the horns of destruction, but I can't see the structure." Lydie pointed out.
"About a tall tower-like fortress in the middle of Ninjago City with the Stone Army guarding it kind of think, Captain." Jay answered.
"Oh, now I really wish I didn't lose my sight because I really wanna see that!" Lydie whined.
"Well, one thing I don't see is the Overlord" Dr. Julien pointed out. "Where is he?" He asked.
Then Lloyd turned around with Umbra and Ultra following as they flew down into the buildings. Once they were on the ground, they saw some people who looked pale and as dark as Nya.
"He's turn everyone evil." Kai whispered to the others as they saw how miserable everyone looked.
Oh, just like Nya," Jay said with worry.
"And now they're helping his cause." Cole finished with a look.
"Not everyone," The Ninja perked up and turned to see Susan, Nao and the rest of their friends and families coming out from an alleyway, "Welcome home, Ninja." Susan said with a hopeful smile.
"Aunt Susan? Is that you?" Lydie asked as she looked around.
"And your Aunt Nao, dear." Nao said as she walked over to Lydie and saw the blindfold over her eyes, "Lydie, your eyes." She said in worry.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Lydie assured with a smile. "Just got thrown by the Overlord during our first fight with him, and lost my eyesight from the impact." She explained as Susan and Nao looked horrified.
Dr. Julien then stepped in. "But don't worry, it should be temporary. It may take time, but she will be fine." He explained as the aunts calmed down.
"But any case, we're glad to hear you all okay." Lydie said in a relief tone.
"Barely." Susan said to her. "We manage to make it through the Overlord's attack when he showed. Some of the others didn't make it, but we manage to get away."
"What about my parents." Harumi asked in worry.
"Don't worry, dear." The Emperor voice was heard as Harumi turned and look at her adoptive parents. "We are just fine."
"Mother! Father!" Harumi said as she rushed towards them and held them close.
"Oh, we're glad your okay." The Empress said in relief as she kissed Harumi's head. "Don't ever scare us like that again."
"I'm sorry, Mother. I just wanted to…" Harumi trailed off before the Emperor place a hand on her shoulder.
"We know you just wanted to help your friends, but remember to tell us these things before you run off on adventures." He said before smiling, "So we can at least give you something to eat when you get hungry." He suggested.
Harumi laughed, "I will, but for now we have an Overlord sized problem to deal with." she reminded them while gesturing what Ninjago City's condition is.
"Of course." The Emperor said with a nod.
Cole then get an eager look. "I can't wait to see the look on the Overlord's face when he gets a load of us!" He exclaimed.
Just then, they heard a dragon like roar as they turned and look at a giant jet-black dragon on the top of Garmatron fortress as it then let out a large breath of Dark Matter straight towards them.
"Oh my goodness." Jay said frighteningly as the dragon shoot out dark matter as it was heading towards them. "Oh, sweet mother may I." He muttered.
"Look out, everyone!" Kai called as they all yelled and moved back just in time before the shadow blast hit the ground.
"Is that the look you were hoping for?" Zane asked Cole.
"Zane, no." Cole responded.
Misako gazed up and her expression turned grim. "The metamorphosis is complete," She said as the Dragon roared. "The Overlord has changed into his original form."
"He's been at the top of the tower shooting this dark mist on any people he missed during his first attack." Susan explained. "It was hard to stay out of sight, but so far we managed to dodge him for now."
"Those like us who survived went into hiding." The Emperor added. "We've remained hidden in the Royal Palace until we saw you had returned, and knew that hope returned."
"But we can't fly up there." Cole said. "The moment we do, we'll end up like everyone else."
"We have my father's golden Mech," Wu pointed out. "We have to draw their fire to help Lloyd use the Mech against the Overlord and for Umbra to get Lydie closer."
"We hear ya loud and clear." Lydie said eagerly. "And for the rest of you guys, stay hidden while we deal with the Overlord."
"Be careful, Lydie. All of you." Susan said as she and Nao gave worried looks.
Just then, the Ninja were on Ultra as they flew straight towards the Overlord.
"Everyone, hold on tight!" Cole called out.
The Ultra Dragon got closer. "Wait…" Kozu commanded.
The Ultra Dragon was getting really close now but the army still did not fire. "Wait," Narmakar said.
And once the four-headed dragon was in striking distance… "NOW, FIRE!" The two ordered as the army launched their ammunition.
"Look out, guys!" Cole shouted as Ultra Dragon flew on its side and took evasive maneuvers to dodge the incoming fireballs being launched at them. The moment the cleared the fireballs, The Archers took hold of their crossbows and started to fire flaming arrows at them.
"Pull up! Quick, pull up!" Kai shouted as the arrows were coming close before Ultra Dragon nearly dodge them as they pulled up skyward.
"The Stone Army is protecting its master." Misako observed. "They will never let Lloyd or Lydie get close."
"Then we need to get close." Wu declared as they kept drawing the enemy's fire.
On the streets, Lloyd and Lydie were marching towards the fortress by mech and dragon as Dareth came out of hiding in his Dojo, "Yeah! I knew they'd be back!" He cheered.
Lloyd then charged his mech at high speed while Umbra started running at the same speed beside Lloyd as the boy drew out his sword.
"Time to bring out the big buttons!" Lloyd declared as he broke down the walls.
"Save some action for me, Lloyd!" Lydie called out to her brother as Umbra then knocked away the Stone Army.
"NINJA-" They both start From out of nowhere, two blast shots came down and blasted off Lloyd's right arm of the Mech and Umbra roared a bit in pain as she was struck at the wing.
"What's happening?!" Lydie called out once she heard the blasts and Umbra's pain.
Lloyd looked up and saw Nya on a turret on the steps of the tower and let out an evil laugh as she continued to fire down on Lloyd and Lydie until the Mech and Umbra fell down.
"Umbra!" Lydie cried in worry, "You okay girl?!" She asked as Umbra groaned, stating that she's fine, but was down for the count. "Lloyd, what's going on?!"
"Nya shot us down, Umbra's down and the mech is out of commission!" Lloyd informed as he tried to stand his mech up again.
"They've been hit!" Wu called out.
"We need to protect them!" Misako shouted as they look down at the down Ninjas.
The Stone Army closed in on them.
Lloyd climbs out of the mech as he saw a stone warrior aised its sword at him. "Oh no!" Lloyd rolled away next to Lydie, who manage to catch him as she yelped in surprise.
"I'm hearing that we're surrounded, are we?" Lydie guessed as she heard a sword about to swipe before she grabbed it and toss a Stone Warrior away with a yelp. "Thatta be a yes!"
The Stone Army then approached to finish the Garma-Twins off before Ultra Dragon dove down as the boys jumped off and Ultra grabbed Umbra and flew her to safety.
"NINJA, GO!" The Ninja shouted as they landed in front of Lloyd and Lydie held off the army.
"Ugh, we're okay," Lloyd said as he stood up.
Jay turned to him. "Yes, but are the rest of us?" He asked as they were quickly surrounded. They then heard the Overlord roar as a cloud of Dark Matter was coming down at them.
"Zane, give us some cover! The Overlord's about to attack again!" Lydie called out once she heard the Overlord's roar.
"Got it, Ice!" Zane shouted as he used his Elemental blade to create a ice barricade as the barricade as they blocked the Dark Matter from hitting them.
"Good job, Zane!" Thunder shouted.
Nya then started blasting the barricade until eventually she bust through it. She then started firing at the heroes.
"Kai, counter Nya's strike!" Lydie yelled again.
"On it, Fire!" Kai called out as he used his blade to block the blasts. Nya growled in annoyance as she moved up higher. At the same time, the Stone Army was closing in on the Ninja.
"I know we've always drawn a crowd, but this is ridiculous!" Jay joked as they fend off the Stone Army.
"How can you be making jokes at a time like this?!" Kai complained as he dodged and counter-attack each one thrown at him.
"Hey, if I'm going down, might as well go down laughing!" Jay told him as he blocked another strike.
"If this is how we suppose to go down, I'm proud to be fighting alongside my brothers and sister." Zane said as he kicked and block the warriors away.
"Hear, hear." Cole said in agreement.
After getting Umbra to safety, Ultra landed on a rooftop as Misako, Harumi, Julien and Wu watched the battle, "They might be strong, but against the army, Nya and the Overlord attacking from all sides they won't last long." Harumi spoke out.
"Then we need to go back and help them!" Wu declared.
"There are too many of them," Misako said as she looked up and noted something about the Overlord, "Look! The Overlord's helmet must've fallen off during his transformation." She said seeing the Overlord no longer had the Helmet of Shadows.
Julien turned to her in confusion, "What does that matter?" He asked.
"'He who wears the helmet, controls the army.'" Misako quotes.
Wu raised a brow, "What?" he asked.
"It was written in the scrolls," Misako said as she realized something, "What if the helmet of shadows was more than just the key to the clock, what if that helmet is the reason Garmadon was able to control the Stone Army in the first place." She theorized.
Harumi got what she was saying, "I get it. If we can find the Helmet then we could stop the Stone Army!" She said.
"What are we waiting for?" Julien insisted as Wu pulled the reins as Ultra flew off while dodging a dark matter mist while the Ninja fend off the Stone Army.
"Keep fighting!" Lloyd called out.
"Never give up!" Lydie added.
"Ninja never quits!" Kai finished.
"NINJA, GO!" They all shouted as they did Spinjitzu too as they knocked away the Stone Army. But then Nya blasted at them, forcing them together, and then knocking them out of their Spinjitzu.
The dark army then closed in on them again as they tried to block them. "We're doomed, guys!" Jay squeaked.
Across the city, Ultra flew through the street until the four riding on him noticed the Helmet of Shadows on the road with it's horns glowing, "There it is!" Misako called as they flew in to grab it.
But then someone else picked it up, "Heh, what do we have here?" Dareth said as he looked at the Helmet.
Harumi then held her hands over her mouth and shouted to Dareth, "Dareth, the helmet! Put on the helmet quickly!" She called.
"Huh, what? Okay but why?" Dareth asked as the helmet's horns started pulsing once he put it on.
Back with the Ninja, the Stone Army raised their swords to finish them but then at the last second the stopped.
"What happened? Did we die?" Lydie asked as she didn't feel the swords going through them.
"Uh, no." Kai said in confusion before they all took off their hoods. "What happened?"
"They are frozen." Zane answered as Cole waved his hand in front one but got no reaction.
The Kozu and Narmaka, the only Stone Warrior's not frozen, shouted, "All hail the Brown Ninja!" They declared pointing to Ultra flying in.
"What do you command?" Naramaka asked.
The Ninja turned to Ultra and put away their swords, "Wait, Brown Ninja?" Jay asked with a raised brow.
"Wait, what's going on?" Lydie asked in confusion.
"Dareth just saved us, that's what." Lloyd answered with a smile.
Dareth, who was riding on Ultra chuckled as the Stone Army moved away as they landed. "What's up fellas? Looks like we all know who's in command now!" he declared.
"The Helmet controls the army," Cole realized as he smiled at Dareth, "Well done!"
"That's how dad was able to make these guys work for him." Lydie realized, "So long as Dareth wears the helmet, they are under his control."
"That means now we stand a fighting chance." Jay added.
Lloyd then point to the top of Garmatron. "We need to get to the top of that tower!" He said before looking at his foot. "We might not be able to get there by ourselves, but with your help, we can face him!" He told the others.
"Are with you us guys?" Lydie asked with a smirk..
The four points then brought out their elemental blades and raised them above the Garma-Twins. "NINJA, GO!" They called out.
Dareth then approached looking at the blade in awe, "Where'd you get those? I want one," he said.
Kai just smiled. "You too, Dareth. Today you proved you deserve to be part of our team… and our family," he said passing Dareth his sword.
"Care to do the honors, just for old times' sake?" Lydie asked.
Dareth grinned and raised the blade high. "NINJA, GO!" Hedeclared as the Overlord and the Umbrum glared down at the heroes. "Army! About face!" he commanded with the blade as the Army turned to face the staircase going up. "Stone Army, go!" They all charged forward up the staircase roaring as they charged up to their former master. Nya however, blasted the Warriors off the tower by Nya and her blaster.
Dareth then handed Kai his blade back, "You might need this back." He said.
"Let's help them out!" Misako said as Ultra started flying upwards, avoiding the fire from Nya but wasn't paying attention to the Overlord. The Dark Lord then fired a bolt of dark power from his mouth that struck Ultra as he roared in pain before in a bright flash the great dragon split into Four dragons.
"Ultra!" The boys cried out in shock.
"What happened!?" Lydie asked in confusion and worry.
"The Overlord somehow split Ultra back into Four dragons!" Zane explained.
"Say what?!" Lydie exclaimed in shock.
"And worse, Mom and the others are falling!" Lloyd called in panic.
"WHAT?!" Lydie exclaimed in louder and in fear.
Wu, Misako, Julien and Harumi yelled as they fell to the ground until Wu was caught by Flame, Misako by Rocky, Harumi by Wisp and Julien by Shard.
"We have to land! This is as far as we can go!" Wu called out as it was too dangerous for the dragons to keep fighting like this as they flew off.
The boys sighs. "Don't worry, sis. The dragons got them and are getting out of range." Lloyd assured his sister.
"Phew, that was close." Lydie said as she grabbed onto Kai. "Let's get climbing."
As the Ninjas went up the steps to where the Overlord is on the top, the Overlord himself breathe out Dark Matter straight towards our Lloyd. Jay saw it coming and pulled Lloyd back.
"Look out!" Jay warned, but it was too late as the Dark Matter hit Cole.
"Cole, come on! Get up!" Lloyd pleaded as Cole of them were grunting in pain.
"Ugh! I'm hit! Go!" Cole told them as he felt the darkness take over. "Go on… without me…"
"Cole!?" Lydie cried out in worry.
"We need to move now!" Kai said to them as they continued climbing while leaving Cole behind as he turned completely gray and his eyes glowed purple as he was fully corrupted.
The Overlord then Unleashed another cloud of Dark Matter towards them as Jay saw it coming before they pushed Lloyd out of the way and he got hit by it. "Jay!" Lloyd shouted when he saw him get hit.
"Get out of the way!" Jay warned them as he felt himself changing.
"What is happening?!" Lydie asked in confused concern.
Zane went up and grabbed Lloyd. "Don't look, just keep climbing!" Kai shouted as they continued on without Jay as they ran faster.
"Did you seriously tell me don't look?" Lydie asked rhetorically.
"Uh, sorry." Kai said sheepishly.
"From my calculations, with the distance remaining to the top, the odds are only one or two of us are going to make it!" Zane said.
"Then let's beat the odds and show the Overlord what for!" Lydie shouted as Lloyd nodded.
Just then, they heard growling as they saw corrupted Jay and Cole walking towards them with their blades out.
"Now what?!" Lydie asked.
Zane then moved Lloyd over to Kai as as he waved towards them. "Go on! I'll hold them back!" He said as he drew his blade and block Jay and Cole's as he held them back as the three remaining Ninja ran up the top.
But once again they were halted when Nya and her turrent blocked their path as she laughed at them.
"Nya!" Kai called out.
"Seriously!? Can't we catch a break!?" Lydie questioned in annoyance.
Kai then turned to the Garma-Twins, "Alright, I'm gonna draw her fire so you two can make it to the top." He instructed before Nya then unleashed a fury of blast at them before KAi draw out his blade and block the attacks.
"No, don't!" Lloyd pleaded with Kai as he held on his sister. "We can do this together!"
"We're a team! We stick together, Kai!" Lydie shouted pleadfully.
"No. There's only one Ninja of Yin and one of Yang. This is your fight." Kai said as the Garma-Twins moved pass Nya as they run up the stairs.
Nya turned to them with a taunting smirk. "You're hurt and you can't even see! You two hardly stand a chance!" She mocked before Kai struck the turret with his blade.
"Go, guys!" Kai shouted as Lydie and Lloyd nodded and moved up.
Lydie was moving much slower as she felt along the wall while walking up, "Lloyd, you go I'll catch up! Don't worry I'll be there, just go!" She told her brother.
"Not a chance, sis!" Lloyd said as he grabbed his sister's arm. "Remember our motto?" He asked.
Lydie smiled, "Nothing can hurt us," she started.
"As long as we're together." They said together as they move up to the top.
Once he reached the top, the Overlord turned to him, seemingly amused that this little colt managed to reach the top, on three feet and two eyes between them no less.
Lloyd and Lydie bravely flips up their hoods and faces the dark lord. "We have come here to fight you, Overlord!" Lloyd declared.
"Either of you are in no shape to fight," the Overlord spoke in a deep voice that rattled the ground. "It's over. Evil wins!"
"A Ninja never quits!" Lydie declared. "And you will pay for what you did to our friends and our father!"
The Overlord to cackle a little. "You don't even have your eyes anymore," he taunted Lydie as she clenched her fist. "And neither of you have a sword." He added.
Lydie then tore off her blindfold, "I don't need my eyes." She said lowly.
"And we don't need a sword," Lloyd said as he created a golden energy shield around him and Lydie.
The Overlord stared at them. "Then all I have to say is…" he started before giving a grin. "...goodbye, little ones."
The Overlord took a deep breath in and the released a storm of purple fire at them. Lloyd held his shield strong as he was pushed to the edge. He panicked and the charged up his power even more. The Overlord kept spewing flames before Lloyd's shield gave way but Lloyd didn't feel the flames and turned to see Lydie with her own shield up, straining against the dragon breath.
"Lyd?" Lloyd said in awe.
Lydie grunted as she looked at her brother, "Nothing can hurt us! As we're together!" She said as her shield started to crack to she then turned and somehow felt Lloyd holding out his hand and she grabbed it.
The two then combined their powers ans pushed the Overlord's attack back before releasing an explosion of golden and purple energy.
Those on the ground saw the golden and purple explosion of energy coming from the top and knew what it was. "They have become the Ultimate Spinjitzu Masters," Misako said in awe.
"This is the final battle," Sensei Wu declared as the energy orb around Lloyd and Lydie vanished and Lloyd's green Ninja Gi had turned to gold with green outlines. The symbol on his back had changed to the ancient Ninjago symbol for 'Light'. Lydie's gi then turned Obsidian with purple outlines with the symbol for 'Darkness' on her back.
"We are the Ultimate Spinjitzu Masters!" The Garma-Twins declared as they felt the power of the Dragon itself coursing through them, not only that, but Lloyd's leg is healed and Lydie's eyesight had returned. Though neither noticed as the Garma-Twins gestured to the Overlord to come at them.
The Overlord growled in fury. "NO!" He roared as swiped his claw at Lloyd, and then did the same to Lydie but go the same results. The two continued to block his attacks and then they kicked him off the tower. "NO!"
Down below Dareth watched as Lloyd and Lydie focused his powers and summoned a golden and obsidian dragons and roared. "Awesome!" He said in awe.
"You can't defeat me!" the Overlord roared at Lloyd as he flew in the air. "Where ever the light may shine, there will always be darkness to cast over it!"
"But the Darkness can never be seen," Lydie started.
"Unless the Light, is bright enough!" Lloyd finished.
The two dragons then tackled the Overlord in streams of yellow and dark purple flames as they dragged the Overlord down. They pass Kai and Nya, who were wrestling each other as they saw them fall.
Dareth saw the Overlord falling and duck his head down when he thought he was about to come down on him before the Overlord flapped his wings and flew back up as Lloyd and Lydie followed. His roars was heard when he flew up into the dark clouds that even the corrupted others could hear them from the steps.
"This ends now," The Garma-Twins said lowly as they glared at the Overlord.
"For once, I agree!" The Overlord shouted as the twins' flames had turned into a dark cloud as he stared down at the Garma-Twins. They then noticed that the dark clouds around them started to wrap around as Overlord began to fly around them.
The Obsidian and Golden Dragons roared as they spun around the darkness. Outside the shadow continued to grow as if it was trying to swallow all of Ninjago.
The Garma-Twins finally stopped spinning until out of the blackness they saw two purple eyes and loud haunting laugh and the fading into his vision was the Overlord's giant head laughing loudly as Lloyd and Lydie stared him down. The Overlord then snapped his jaws over them and got them in one bite.
But just when he thought he had won, the Overlord felt something in his mouth powering up as in between his teeth beams of light were seen trying to pry his mouth open. "No, NO!" The Overlord cried as he realized what was happening, and tried to keep his mouth closed. "NO! NNNNOOOO!" he screamed as Lloyd and Lydie burst forth from his mouth as they their energy dragons started circling around, forming a Yin-Yang signal as they released a gigantic burst of energy.
Then just as the entire city was swallowed into the blackness, a golden and violet light pierced through it, eradicating it and destroying the Garmatron tower and spreading it's light across all of NInjago. All around the city, everyone woke up, feeling quite dazed and confused by what happened as the new light shone down on them. From the crater that once was Garmatron, Kai and Jay, the latter who is back to normal, opens their eyes to a clear sky.
"What happened?" Kai groaned as he and Jay sat up.
Then across from, sitting up herself, was Nya returned to normal and with her armor purified in silver and blue.
"Nya!" Kai and Jay shouted as they ran up to her up.
"My sister!" Kai said in relief.
"Nya, you're back!" Jay added as the two hugged Nya in huge relief as she returned the hug.
"Yeah, but what happened?" Nya asked. "And how did I get into this armor?"
Kai and Jay just laughed and continued to hug her as across from the Cole and Zane woke up too.
"Come here, you tincan!" Cole said as he helped Zane to his feet.
"Brother," Zane said as they hugged.
Just then, the five dragons, whom had recovered, then landed close to the Ninja as their friends climbed down.
"Is this really happening?" Dr. Julien asked as he was helped down by Misako. "We did it?"
"We did it! You did it! I did it!" Dareth shouted with excitement. "Heck, who didn't do it?!"
"Yeah, but where're Lloyd and Lydie?" Harumi asked in concern as they look around.
Then as if answering her, Lloyd and Lydie flew down on their energy dragons. "Lloyd! Lydie!" They all cheered.
"You were brilliant, kids." Misako said to them as the Garma-Twins jumped down as their dragons disappeared.
"Because of you both, Ninjago is saved. Because of you both, there will be a tomorrow." Wu said in a proud tone at his niece and nephew.
Lloyd then turned to Lydie with smile, "Hey, your eyes!" He pointed, "Can you…" He trailed off.
"See all your smiling faces under the sunlight? Looks like it." Lydie said with a smile and blinked a few times. "And that leg is looking better." She added while pointing at her brother's leg.
Lloyd did a few kicks and jumps to test it out. "Back and better than ever!" He declared. "So please tell me that the Overlord is gone for good." He commented.
"He'd be pretty stupid to come back." Lydie answered with a smirk.
"But just in case, if he ever decides to show his face again around here, we'll be ready." Kai promised.
"And next time, we'll be a little more humble." Cole said.
"And a little more wise." Zane added.
"And with better catchphrases!" JAy finished as they all laughed. Lloyd and Lydie however looked down sadly as they knew they did not save everyone.
Harumi frowned, knowing what they were thinking, "I'm so sorry about Garmadon." She said earnestly as she held Lloyd's shoulders.
"We will all miss your father." Misako told her children, unbeknownst to any of them, a man in a black kimono with gray hair that looked like Lloyd's hair style rose up from the rubble behind them and hobbled towards them.
"Lloyd, Lydie…" The man said in a familiar voice as he shook his head. "What? What happened?" He asked.
Misako looked at the man in awe, recognizing his voice, "G-Garmadon? Is it, really you?" She asked, stunned with tears in her eyes.
Garmadon looked at his hands and gave an unsure smile, "It, it would seem so." He said.
"Dad?" Lloyd asked as tears ran down his face as Lydie was the same.
"Oh, Daddy! You're back! And your normal!" Lydie cried out as she and her brother ran over to their father and gave him a hug. "I missed you so much!"
Misako let out a happy sob as she joined her family in the hug, "Every ounce of evil and venom is gone."she said She said as she happily as she pressed her forehead against Garmadon's.
Wu looked at the four with a smile on his face as he was happy that his brother had returned.
"I-I, I feel good," Garmadon said as he embraced his family. "It's been so long." He said in joy as he felt like how he was before the Devourer bit him so many years ago as he reunited with his family.
"Good to have you back, brother," Sensei Wu said as he walked up to Garmadon.
"Wu. Good to be back," Garmadon said with a smile as the two brothers held one another by the shoulders.
"Aw, would you look at that?" Jay spoke up as Garmadon and his family walked away. "Who would have thought we'd ever see the day? You think we should dogpile on them?"
"Let's give them their moment," Kai told him. "They earned it." He said, knowing that this was a long-waited family reunition for the Garmadon family.
"It's been quite a ride, fellas." Cole spoke up with a smile.
"You think there will be others?" Zane asked.
"I hope so. I liked being a Ninja." Cole said. "It's not like we have many other skills."
"Ha! Speak for yourself, I'm looking forward to doing a little inventing, maybe some model building, dabble in poetry, spending time with Nya-" Jay started to blab on as Nya gave a fond smile at Jay when he say that.
"Jay's right." Kai said with a smile as he stopped Jay's rambling as he turned to the others. "We've all come a long way, and there's no reason why we can't use what we've learned in our everyday lives." As Kai spoke, Wu looked down, wondering if they had truly won or not, before the Fire Ninja came over to him and placed a hand around his shoulder. "And who knows? We may have gotten the balance right today, but there's always tomorrow. There's no way of knowing what's around the corner. But as long as there's something worth fighting for, there's always a need for a Ninja, and we'll be ready."
Harumi clapped her hands, "But for now, let's clean up our city and enjoy the peace." She said as looked at her friends, "Because, I want Ninjago to be ready to meet its new princess."
The others gave a proud smile as they all nodded in agreement as they walked around the crater and looked at the bright sun shining down on them as Ninjago is now saved and a new era has begun.
A few days later, at the Royal Palace, one of the few buildings in Ninjago that was miraculously unharmed, the people of Ninjago stood at the front of the palace with the Ninja in their master suits stood before the Emperor and Empress at the podium in the front of the room while Wu, Misako, Garmadon, Nya and the rest of their friends and family stood in the front rows.
"Citizens of Ninjago, I would like to thank you for joying us today for this momentous occasion . That I am pleased to announce that our heroes, the Ninja have defeated the Overlord and saved us all!" The Emperor announced as the crowd applauded as the Ninja smiled and waved, "But this is not the only cause for celebration, as it is time to rise up from the shadows of our past and enter a new future of Light and hope for Ninjago and for a new leader to one day lead us to that future."
The Emperor turned to his wife and she nodded with a proud smile, "And so, ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you all," she said gesturing to the doors that opened wide.
Then Harumi walked and appeared to the crowd as she was in a green and gold dress with white cape with floral printing. "Our daughter, Harumi Jade." The Empress declared as Harumi walked down the isle, with a nervous smile but kept walking.
She then stood before her parents as the Master of Arms came forth and handed her a scroll as she turned to the crowd, "I, Harumi Jade, hereby solemnly swear, to all of my people, that I will hold the ideals of being brave, strong, kind and wise and above, being good, for every day for the rest of my life." She said looking at Lloyd with smile as he smiled back, "To protect and serve Ninjago from whatever may try to harm it or my people with my very life." She finished as she handed the scrolls back and kneeled down.
The Master of Arms then placed a golden Circlet on her head. "The it is with great honor that I declare to you, Princess Harumi, the new princess of Ninjago!" The Master of Arms declared as Harumi stood before her people and they all cheered loudly.
Harumi smiled and waved to the crowd as she turned to her friends, who are giving her proud smiles as she specifically looked at Lloyd and gave him a small smile, which Lloyd blushed slightly as he and the other Ninja kneeled down in respect for their princess as the crowd continued cheering.
However little did our heroes realize that a familiar and very unfriendly Anacondrai watches them celebrating from the shadows. "Enjoy yourself while you can, Ninja," Pythor said sinisterly as he rubbed his hands together, "Because peace can only last so long…" He smirked and then chuckled as all he had to do now, was wait for his chance to strike.
