To Boss Teal: Ah, thanks man! I thought Aleena's Acorinan identity could be a reference to both the Archie Comics and guy who basically crafted SatAM. It's out of respect, you know?

Void Reader: Things will be different as you remember from the Archie Comics.

Before I start the story, I've decided to cancel the Ask RESURGENCE Cast segment until the story starts getting more attention. Until then, I'll keep it on the back burner. I apologize if you wanted to participate in the segment. But don't worry, you will in time. That's not a promise, though.

That's all for now, on with the show.

Dr. Thorndyke's Laboratory, GUN HQ

Shadow the Hedgehog stood beside Rouge the Bat as the elderly, yet energetic scientist observed the computer screen.

Upon finding the book from the ruins of Soleanna, Shadow went back to GUN Headquarters to report back to his superiors to await further instructions immediately. Topaz was given orders to have the book given to Dr. Thorndyke and his team of researchers over at his department for a thorough investigation.

Now, both agents watched as the book was being scanned by a machine.

While information about the book was in the process of being collected, Shadow and Rouge were in the middle of a small conversation.

"You could have brought me along, you know." Rouge pointed out with her casually flirty tone. "I would have died to have seen that Victorian dream house. The place must have felt luxurious to be in."

"As I said before, I handled it," Shadow affirmed softly. "There wouldn't have been a point, anyway. That beast destroyed the whole structure, valuables included."

Rouge feigned a pout as she played a gloved hand on one of her cheeks.

"Oh, my... That's just too bad. Just saving a portrait or a lamp alone could have made us a fortune." Rouge said with longing in her voice. "Still, it has been a long time since we've formed our little team. I'd like to relive that rush sometime."

Shadow nodded lightly, stating, "We may be having a reunion one of these days. Omega is currently undergoing trials in another sector. The president said something about suiting him with upgrades that can deal with the global threat."

Rouge smiled at this, happy to hear that she may get to her friend again.

"That would be lovely,"

Dr. Thorndyke then added, "Thank goodness that you did, Agent Black Wind. This journal may hold information integral to our research. This could have clues as to what happened three decades ago."

Shadow and Rouge gazed at the screen that projected the pages. The white bat was perplexed at the odd letters and symbols inscribed and etched on each page.

"What kind of writing is this? I can't read a thing!" Rouge complained.

"It's a form of ancient script," Shadow answered neutrally.

"Not just any form of ancient script, this happens to be Latin. One of the many ancient languages from the old world." Dr. Thorndyke explained. "Whoever wrote in this book is extremely fluent in it. Thankfully, the system utilizes the Roman alphabet."

"How long will it take for you to decipher the content that is inside the book?" Shadow questioned.

Stroking his chin inquisitively, Dr. Thorndyke said, "I'm not certain as to when, but we'll be striving to gather new information daily. So far, our current objective is to uncover the mysterious author of the journal."

"And what about the scepter? Is there any new information about it?" Rouge inquired, with her hands on her hips.

Dr. Thorndyke shook his head negatively.

"Not at the moment. To be honest, my team is hesitant to even peer in its direction. Not that I blame them. All of that destructive power being stored up in such a small space could put any sane person on edge."

Suddenly, a younger female researcher ran into the room from her station.

"Doctor! Doctor!" The woman cried while panting. "...W-We got a name!"

All of the other people in the room directed their attention to the woman.

"That's great news, Matilda! What is the name?"

"It's been translated into English as Walter Gaunsun."

Lounge Room, Egg Carrier, Several Miles Away From Lobonia

Upon the metallic doors rising, Dr. Robotnik had his new associates enter the room.

The room itself had a small bar built in, a pool table, and three small separate bedrooms with their bathrooms inside. There was also a refrigerator, freezer, and cooler that were all filled to the brim with food and other edible goods.

In the middle of the lounge was a leather sofa with three matching chairs for people to sit on. In front of the furniture was a small home theatre with a flat-screen television.

To most of the newcomers, this was an oasis to the long drought that their life.

Speaking of the newcomers, stepping into the room where all of the members of the Destructix.

Drago Wulfe, Fiona Fox, and Fang the Sniper.

However, two new faces joined the group after meeting up elsewhere.

One was a light bluish-teal feathered Mobian hawk wearing a red headband, red gloves, red shoes, and a bandolier wrapped around his body. The Mobian also carried a red hoverboard with him.

This was the unpredictable Extreme Rider, Predator Hawk.

The other newcomer happened to be a male Mobian Lynx with a tuft of black spiky hair and matching dark eyebrows. He had blue eyes, tan-colored fur, and matching gloves and boots with lightning bolt symbols on them.

This was the former member of the Raijū Clan, Raikō "Lightning" Lynx.

"And this will be where you're staying in the meantime." Dr. Eggman stated. "Please, feel free to make yourselves comfortable. I assure you that the room is tailored to your liking."

All of the other members of Destructix turned to Drago, who gave the four a nod of permission.

Turning to Robotnik, Predator asked the doctor, "Do you have anything cold to drink I. here, Doc?"

"I have three cases of Chaos Cola in the cooler," Eggman replied.

Narrowing his eyes, Predator Hawk seriously questioned, "...Regular or diet?"

The doctor responded, "Uh… I have both regular and diet flavors. I also got the Wild Cherry and Cranberry flavors too."

Immediately, Predator stalked to the cooler saying to the other Destructix members, "I call dibs on Wild Cherry. Touch any of it, and you die."

"Whatever," Fiona waved off as she made her way over to a nearby chair to sit, resting her legs on one of the armrests.

While Drago Wulfe and Raikō were busy inspecting the pool table, Raikō called back to his teammate.

"Try not to ingest too much soda, Predator. That'll be bad for your kidneys." Lightning said sagely.

"Hey! Shut up! That kidney stone deal-eo was a one-time thing and you know it!" Predator Hawk squawked.

"Damn near ended up in bloody hospital. Shoulda saw him, screaming his head off like a cockatoo at sundown." Fang mused while finding himself fixing a glass of Mobian Smirnoff.

"Dang nam it, Nac!" The hawk growled, causing Raikō and Drago to chuckle at Predator's expense.

Fiona groaned, placing her right palm on her face.

'Ugh! Morons.' Fiona thought to herself as she began to surf through channels with a remote.

One doctor's eyes twitched, thinking, '...What an interesting bunch of misfits.'

When everybody had settled in, Dr. Robotnik got the attention of the Destructix, who now sat on the sofa and chairs.

"Lady, gentlemen. I'm sure that you're enjoying your stay aboard the Egg Carrier, but it's now time to get down to business." Dr. Robotnik announced as he turned the leader. "Mr. Wulfe, care to introduce your team?"

The wolf used his head to gesture to his squad to speak.

"You heard the man! Go and greet yourselves!" Drago growled at his squad.

Raikō, Predator, Fang, and Fiona slightly grimace at the tone of their taller leader but complied nonetheless.

"Alright, all that you have to do is to state your name, position, and one of any unique abilities that you may or may not possess." Dr. Robotnik instructed. "Who would like to start, first?"

Fiona lazily raised her hand, saying, "I'll go. The name's Fiona Fox. I specialize in espionage and infiltration. Want anything snagged with next to no effort, I'm your girl for it."

Eggman raised an eyebrow as he challenged the young vixen, saying, "Oh yeah? And what can you do?"

Sighing, Fiona got up from her seat. Her irises glowed neon blue for a split second, then began to shift in appearance. In front of everybody was a shorter green feathered male Mobian Woodpecker wearing white gloves, red and white double striped sneakers, and a crimson handkerchief.

"Tada~," Fiona said, halfheartedly outstretching her arms horizontally to shake her hands.

"Ooo!" Eggman gawked, adjusting the frame of his glasses. "A shape shifter! How intriguing!"

Using his highly advanced smart glass lenses, Dr. Robotnik detected microscopic machines within Fiona's body as it began to mobilize.

'...Oh? I'm detecting nanomachines inside of this girl.' Eggman realized. 'Hm…I can't seem to decipher the encryption to acquire its information. Shame, I wanted to see what kind of artist crafted such a masterpiece.'

Fiona snickered scandalously as she strutted around the room like a supermodel, much to the mild amusement of the other Destructix members aside from the comical horror of Fang.

Seeing the reaction of the gunslinger, Fiona hopped over to Fang and waved similarly to the real green bomber.

"Hiya, Fang! Wanna play tic tic boom again?" Fiona asked in a high-pitched squeaky tone that was similar to the person she had taken the appearance of.

"Bloody hell! Get that bomb-crazy ScoMo outta my face!" The weasel howled, panicking at the sight of his worst nightmare.

Raikō and Predator burst out laughing at Fang's expense.

"Alright, girl. You've had your fun. Cut it out." Drago instructed, much to Fiona's irritation.

Fiona changed back to her normal appearance, then gave Drago a light glare as she sat back down.

"Okay, which one of you is up next?" Dr. Robotnik questioned.

Predator stepped forward, raising a hand slightly as he introduced himself to the evil scientist.

"Hey, I'm Perry Hawk, former Sky Commander of the Battle Bird Armada and certified mercenary extraordinaire." Predator greeted the doctor. "You may have heard of me by my alias. The Predator Hawk of the Battle Fortress."

"Wait! You mean to tell me that you were a part of that blasted armada!? Do you have any idea how many ships you and your former colleagues cost me? Do you!?" Eggman shouted.

Raikō, Fiona, Drago, and Fang all facepalmed at the new information that they received from the exchange.

Predator shrugged, unphased at the distraught and heated state of his potential employer.

"Hey, I was only following orders. Don't blame the player, doc. Hate the game." Predator suggested. "Anyways, my formative years serving under the Battle Lord's fighter units out in the air and on the field have sharpened my skills as a tactician. That is also the role that I serve in the Destructix."

"Ah, a fellow tactician. It's good to know that there's a functional brain in this little ragtag group. Do you have a special ability that some would deem extraordinary?" The genius inquired.

"Give me some firearms and a target, then I can pick a name of the census while on my Extreme Gear." Predator Hawk grinned with excitement. "Five minutes is all that I need."

Eggman cleared his throat, saying, "...Okay, then. Straight to the point. Let's move. Who's up next?"

Raikō raised his hand as he got up from his seat and bowed to Dr. Robotnik out of respect.

"Greetings, doctor. My given name was Yamaneko Raikō, a former member of the Raijū Clan." Lightning started as he bowed formally, introducing himself. "Now, I am the Lightning Lynx, ambush warrior of the Destructix."

"Ah, formal greeting. How pleasant." Eggman complimented, bowing back. "Tell me, is the lightning term of your name metaphorical?"

"Hai!

With the lynx's eyes gleaming yellow, Raikō stuck out one hand and created an orb of electricity from the palm of his hand.

Suddenly, the lenses of Eggman's glasses detected the same kind of technology that was found in Fiona's body in Raikō's body as well.

'What are the odds? It's the same technology! And it has an encryption code with it, too! Just how they are utilized is what makes them uniquely distinct. I wonder who created the cybernetics and implanted them in these Mobians? It's brilliant!' Eggman pondered thoughtfully.

"Ah! There it is! Hehehe!" Eggman crackled as Raikō ended his introduction. "Next!"

"Name's Nac, Nac Taylor, at your service, cobber! Folks around the bend just call me Fang the Sniper, 'cause I shoot, but I also bite!"

Eggman facepalmed himself, then rubbed his temples together.

"...Charming. And what makes you different from the bird from the two introductions before, exactly?" The doctor challenged.

Fang simply chuckled before he took out a mobium coin and flicked it up into the air, making the small piece of currency spin. Fang quickly drew one of his six-shooters from his holster and fired at the coin, spinning it faster as the bullet ricocheted off it and hit one of Robotnik's goggle lenses, shattering it into pieces while leaving the Overlander scientist untouched.

"...Sweet Mobius," Eggman whispered, touching his bald head to inspect for any wounds or injuries.

Only to find that there was none.

"Trust me, mate, if I wanted to draw blood, I would have aimed lower," Fang said with a sinister chuckle.

A sadistic grin formed from Eggman's face from ear to ear. He chuckled at the Mobian weasel's twisted sense of humor.

"Heh heh heh! You know what, I like your style." Eggman acknowledged.

Setting his sights back on Drago and everybody as a group, Dr. Robotnik continued to speak to them about their mission.

"Alright. Now, since we're all well acquainted, we can discuss the details of your mission further. I like to have a little bit more insight into the location of interest to help you and your squad succeed in your objective." Eggman asked formally. "What can you tell me about the Unified Wolf Pack Nation?"

"Hey, boss?" Predator whispered as he and the other members of the Destructix were all eyeing him inquisitively. "Didn't you come from the UWPN?"

The white wolf let out an exasperated sigh, as he explained, "Chaos, damn it… Fine. I hail from one of the five great wolf nations, the Waya tribe. We were the strongest and oldest tribe which had the largest territory throughout Lobonia. But Waya and the other four tribes were driven out by dark forces that raided our lands fourteen years ago. All of the five tribes scattered southeast, creating settlements in the unfamiliar territory which we deemed as the Great Unknown."

"Ah, I see. That explained the lack of wolves within the last decade or so…" The doctor muttered before telling Drago to continue.

"...I had a…dispute with the newly established chief of the tribe. That grew into a heated argument since I often questioned her leadership. Rightfully so, given I was concerned for our future. And despite my loyalty and dedication to the pack, in return, I was banished under the charges of treason." Drago growled bitterly.

'It doesn't take much for an asshole like you to get the boot.' Fiona snarked in her mind.

Eggman nodded, empathizing with the plight of the wolf due to his background.

"Yes, I am well aware of your situation," Eggman stated analytically. "Which is why I am giving you this opportunity to enact vengeance on the tribe who wrongfully convicted you for treason."

"Right," Drago nodded. "Anyway, I heard through sources that the bit–, I mean, the so-called chief had foolishly decided to unite our generational adversaries under one nation! Such heresy is an abomination to our ancestors and a disgrace to the Waya tribe!"

Drago snarled in rage, baring his fangs at the thought of such an affront to his culture that his former tribe's leader had brought.

Raikō and Predator winced at the sight while Fiona and Fang rolled their eyes with irritation.

"Indeed," Eggman nodded as he used his glasses to cast footage of the Wolf Pack Nation's technological progression through his camouflage surveillance drones. "And the Unified Wolf Pack Nation only continues to grow stronger with the aid of the blasted Kingdom of Acornia."

"Blimey, how in the Devil's Gulag are you able to get such a high-def Livestream?" Fang asked.

"That's a good question, my gunslinging friend." Dr. Robotnik grinned kindly. "You see, I'm something of a roboticist. It's in my name, you know. And I have plenty of them to go around. Plenty to, let's say as an example, spy on my enemies."

"Uh-huh, that's neat. Can we skip all of the brown-nosing and banter crap? Give us the job already!" Fiona barked impatiently.

"Fiona! Hold your tongue!" Drago commanded.

Fiona responded by flipping the wolf off while she shouted, "Bite me, dog breath! I say what I want when I want! Deal with it!

"Why you insufferable little bit-" Drago growled, preparing to put the teenage vixen in her place.

"ENOUGH!" Eggman bellowed, causing the room to go silent.

Clearing his throat, the doctor said, "You want your mission so badly? Fine! But if you screw this up, I will personally hand your tails back to the guards at the Devil's Gulag. Do we have an understanding?"

The Destructix paled as they quickly shook their heads positively.

"Good," Eggman said, changing the television's screen to a map of Lobonia with a gleaming red diamond-shaped icon blinking over its capital. "Because I already have details of your objective here."

"Huh, what is that diamond shape supposed to be, doctor?" Raikō questioned.

"That icon represents what you five will be tasked to retrieve for me." Robotnik clarified. "I am one hundred percent certain that the UWPN has a Chaos Emerald in their possession."

"A what?" Predator Hawk, Raikō, and Fang all asked, tilting their heads in confusion.

"Wait, are you talking about those Miracles Gems that old people would jabber about in fairytales?" Fiona questioned before scoffing. "Give me a break, old man. Everybody and their grandma knows that those glorified rock candies are nothing but legends. Not even the most skilled treasure hunters could find them. And even if they were real, I bet they are just normal diamonds with odd colored variants."

"A legend you say?" Eggman chuckled. "Oh, I assure you that they are very real. I was able to destroy half the moon with five of them."

Everybody else's body grew stiff at that revelation.

"F-Five of them did…that?" Drago stuttered, feeling his heartbeat skyrocketing.

Rubbing his chin, Eggman confessed, "Actually, now that I'm looking back at it, the Eclipse Cannon wasn't operating at half its full power back then. Even when using five of the Emeralds."

Shaking his head, Dr. Robotnik then showed a clip of Super Sonic fighting Perfect Chaos in a flooded Station Square on the television screen.

"And this phenomenon is one of many applications being used if one were to wield all seven of the so-called legendary rock candies, as you framed them, Miss Fox." Robotnik giddily retorted, knocking Fiona down a peg.

While the boys were left with their jaws nearly hitting the floor, Fiona took this as a wake-up call.

"...Okay! You got me, doctor. I'm convinced." Fiona before sporting a spunky grin. "How are we doing this?"

Chuckling yet again, the grandson of Prof. Robotnik stated, "I'm glad you asked, my dear. Because it involves engaging in battle with your favorite people."

The television had then cut to a live camera capturing the X-Tornado landing outside the city of Lycaeon. Zooming closer, the Destructix's eyes widened as they saw Sally, Bunnie, and Antoine get off the jet plane with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles following suit.

"Well, would you look at that? If it isn't Her Royal Highness and her loyal cheer squad. Finally, I've been itching for a rematch with that stuck-up bimbo–" Fiona snarked before her eyes darted to Sonic.

"–Oh, hello~! Is that a smoking hot A-Lister I see~?" The red-furred vixen purred seductively.

The boys of the Destructix facepalmed at the tone shifted, groaning over Fiona's complete one-eighty-degree face-turn.

'Damnit, Fiona!' All of the guys screamed in their minds.

Eggman readjusted his glasses as he cleared his throat once more.

"...Hormones aside," The doctor muttered, disregarding what he just saw. "These individuals along with the Wolf Pack will be your obstacles that will get in the way of your objective. Your number one job is to find the Chaos Emerald and bring it back to me. You're allowed to get rough in the process, but don't get caught up by your squabbles and lose sight of your true goal. Now, I ask you five. Are you up for this mission?"

Fiona, Predator, Raikō, and Fang all glanced at each other, sharing a look of professionalism and understanding.

Meanwhile, Drago clenched his hands with anticipation.

'At last! I have the chance to pay her back! Just you wait, Lupe!'

Drago Wolfe grinned wildly at the mad doctor as he answered him.

"Yes, we are, Doctor. Now, when do we start?"

Lycaeon, Unified Wolf Pack Nation, Lobonia

Team Sonic and the Knothole Freedom Fighters made a two-hour and thirty-minute journey from Acornia to Lobonia thanks to the extra power given by Sally's Chaos Emerald.

From below them, Sonic and friends arrived at what seemed to be a city made up of limestone and obsidian, and much like the Overlander's old city of water, it was supported by the same element.

Lycaeon, the capital of Lobonia, was laid out symmetrically, with four sectors separated by four causeways or canals surrounding the central area.

While the four areas had their own smaller temples that were constructed for worshiping minor spirits and deities, the central area had. stone step pyramid specifically designed to worship both Light and Dark Gaia; aspects of day and night. Light and Darkness. Life and Death.

Thankfully, King Max's return resulted in the reconstruction and development of Lobonia, which included the capital. Therefore, their technology advanced due to the trading of their natural resources and the recent acquisition of devices the Wolf Pack Freedom Fighters salvaged from the remnants of the Overlander's weaponry post-Great War.

While huts made of straw still existed throughout the land, modern-day towers with architecture came straight out of Acornian to mesh with the existing ancient Lobonian aesthetic, with old structures like Adobe Homes and Plank Houses still existing. Because of this, the newly rebuilt Lycaeon bore a resemblance to New Mobotropolis.

Once the X-Tornado landed in the landing strip where other aircraft vehicles were designated, allowing our heroes to depart from the plane.

"Here we are. The capital of the Unified Wolf Pack Nation, Lycaeon." Sally announced to Team Sonic.

"Wow, this place looks amazing!" Tails basked in awe.

Looking around, Knuckles noted, "These structures remind me of the Mystic Ruins. And it's supported by the canal."

Sonic looked around at the area, judging the distance between different sectors of the city and the water that was keeping the place afloat. Honestly, the city was gorgeous. Sonic would be lying to himself if he thought otherwise. But, at the same time, the only thing that kept the whole capital up was his greatest enemy. One even more dangerous than Eggman himself.

…Water, and it doesn't appear to be on the shallow end of things.

"...This place doesn't seem so bad," Sonic muttered to himself, trying not to grow nervous at the idea of being stuck in an island city surrounded by death. "At least the waters here are pretty calm."

Antoine, Bunny, and Sally shared a look of amusement with the coyote snorting as the girls giggled at their old friend.

Sally teasingly asked, "Still afraid of water, Sonic?"

Sonic gave the three Freedom Fighters a light glare as he defended his case on the matter.

"Hey, I ain't afraid of water! …But I'm no swimmer, either." Sonic huffed as his pride took a hit.

Bunnie pat Sonic on the back as she said, "Thayure's nothin' tuh bay ashamed of, Sugar-hog. Everybody's got sumpn thet thur scared of."

Antoine added, "Oui, it iz to be true. Take me, as an example. Ai was once afraid of everything. Ai evén avoid to peer into mon own shadow. Now, ai have only ze dark and small places to fear."

Sonic grumbled as he crossed his arms and averted his attention away from the others.

Disregarding the attitude, Sally walked forward and stopped to face her friend from over her shoulder.

"Relax, Sonic. You don't have to interact with any part of the water if you don't want to. We'll just have to teach you how to swim when we get back to HQ." Sally said, giving her old friend a reassuring smile.

Sonic snorted, saying, "Yeah, good luck with that. I'd have to let you catch me for that to happen."

"I hate to break it to you guys, but getting Sonic close to a swimming pool is like trying to turn Dr. Eggman into a good guy. It's just not possible." Tails spoke up, with Knuckles nodding in agreement.

"Have yawl try teachin' before him?" The Mobian cyborg questioned, placing both of her hands on her hips.

"A handful of times," Knuckles answered honestly. "Tails and I tried, but Sonic wouldn't settle down whenever I dragged him past the five feet area."

"As I said, I ain't no swimmer. Who needs that when I can run on top of the water?" Sonic suggested. "Besides, I'm built to last on the ground like how nature intended it."

Sighing, Sally relented by saying, "Very well, then. We won't push swimming on to you, Sonic. But just so you know, swimming is a part of basic training for all members of the Knothole Freedom Fighters. One of these days, you're going to have to conquer that fear of yours."

"Yeah, yeah, I know." Sonic waved off as he and the rest followed the Knothole Freedom Fighters into the city as they walked to the nearest pier.

After waiting five minutes, Sonic and his friends were greeted by a Mobian wolf with a tannish-orange coat of fur and crystal blue eyes. He wore a red vest, a colorful feathered headband, a white and blue beaded necklace, black linen high breeches, and brown sandals.

The wolf had been paddling a large canoe that was built to carry multiple people.

"Hello! Princess Sally and the Knothole Freedom Fighters?" The wolf called out, getting the others' attention. "My native name is To'kala, but you can call me Reynard or Rey."

"Hello to you, Reynard. I assume that you're the ferryman that Lupe sent for us?" Sally questioned.

The wolf nodded, confirming, "Yes, she did. I have orders to escort you to Freedom HQ."

"Oh, sweet! A ride!" Sonic grinned, prompting himself and the others to get on the board.

Once they boarded the boat, Reynard began rowing the boat, moving them along the canal.

-Ten Minutes Later, Freedom HQ (Lobonia)-

While the ride was a tad bit slow for Sonic's tastes, Team Sonic did enjoy the scenery. The city reminded them of Seaside Hill back when Metal Sonic was out to take over the world.

The boat ride lasted for roughly ten minutes. The next thing that they knew, the wolf had addressed them.

"And we've made it, ladies and gentlemen," To'kala announced.

While the Knothole Freedom Fighters were getting off of the canoe, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles looked up to see the base of Wolf Pack Freedom Fighters.

"No way…" The three heroes gasped at the same time.

In this sector, Team Sonic saw a stairway made up of four steps that lead to a ten-story tall round pyramid made out of pure onyx and limestone. The place had been beautifully painted, depicting Lobonian myths and legends on the front of the structure while it was decorated with gems and other precious stones.

"Come on, y'all!" Bonnie cried out to them, prompting Team Sonic to walk up the stairs.

Walking up the pyramid's entrance, the group was met with two large male Mobian wolves that were guarding while holding advanced rifles powered by Red Rings.

When the two nameless guards spotted To'kala, the guards stepped aside, granting the Knothole Freedom Fighters and Team Sonic passage to the halls of the temple-like structure.

The group walked along the hall, with Team Sonic observing the murals of ancient beings of day and night and glyphs telling a story. It depicted the creation of the planet, the event of a gargantuan primordial dark monstrous entity appearing from the depths of the world.

The incomplete monster had brown skin with its lower body and torso resembling that of a snake's, two thin arms with long neon-blue claws, and scaly shoulders. Its head itself is very wide, much wider than its main body, and is mostly composed of its jagged mouth and has a single green eye on each end of it. Its central face looked like that of a reptile's, with four small horns on the top of it, white eyes, and one large green eye on the middle of its forehead. Also, on its back, the dark entity had seven purple flaming energy tentacles sticking out from it, and neon blue scaly fins that run from its lower back up to its head. It also appeared to have possessed "hair" in the form of purple energy that emits from its head and back, giving it the appearance of a mohawk.

The mural depicted the monster's unholy power nearly decimating everything on the planet.

But the next image showed the dark entity coming into conflict with its benevolent counterpart, a small radiant barefoot Mobian-looking Lycan male that was adorned with ith a white shawl and golden bands on his arms and legs while appearing to have four teal incest wings, an emerald colored orb for a pendant, and possessed maroon and white fur.

Finally, the last painting ended the legend of the dark monster being sealed back into the planet as the being cloaked in a green light bringing new life to the ruined world and starting a new cycle.

"Hey, Sonic, Knuckles, are you looking at any of this?" Tails asked in a whisper as he studied the murals closely.

"Mhm!" Sonic nodded. "I'm no art enthusiast, but they look great. I'd appreciate them more if I could read the ancient text, though. Oh well."

Hearing the boys talk, Sally said, "Those murals are a depiction of the origins of the planet. And the beings that you see are deities that all five of these tribes in Lobonia worship."

"That is correct," To'kala confirmed. "Whether it's the Akecheta (Fighter) tribe, the Ayita (Worker) tribe, the Wahkan (Wise) tribe, the Tlalli (Earth) tribe, or the Waya (Wolf) tribe, all tribes give praise to the gods of the life cycle. They are—"

"—the Atira." Knuckles answered, reading the glyphs on the walls as he knelt on the floor. "The great spirits of life and death that keep nature in the balance."

Reynard and the Knothole Freedom Fighters gasped at the echidna's ability that he was displaying.

"You can réad ze inscriptions?" Antoine questioned. "How?"

"I was trained to read and speak many tongues. Many which are foreign to my tribe." Knuckles explained. "Before his death, my father would speak different languages to me while I was still in the egg. Then, after I hatched, my father had me study these ancient languages by teaching me about folklore from other cultures."

"That's amazing, Knuckles!" Sally praised. "It took NICOLE to recalibrate for us to understand the Waya language."

"You speak of the Atira with familiarity," To'kala noticed.

Knuckles revealed, "You wolves refer to them as the Atira, but my people called these beings Light Gaia and Dark Gaia. The ancient forces of the planet."

Reynard tilted his head as he said, "I wasn't aware that Aurorans were interested in our faith and mythology."

"...Who said I was Auroran?" Knuckles challenged evenly before he continued walking forward.

"What does that mean?" The wolf guide inquired, only Sonic and Tails to answer the question simultaneously.

"Long story." The hedgehog and fox stated.

The group then stopped upon facing a round ancient calendar made entirely out of jade with a wolf's head at the center. A pad with a Mobian wolf's handprint was left on the calendar.

To'kala placed his left hand on the pad, promoting the wall with the ancient calendar to slide open, revealing an elevator car awaiting the group's occupation.

"It's an elevator?" Tails inquired.

Reynard nodded, saying, "Mhm,"

"This place sure is full of surprises." Sonic grinned after whistling.

"Oh, ya'll haven't seen nuthin' yet," Bunnie stated confidently.

When everybody walked inside the elevator, it closed and was brought several floors down. And when the door opened, Team Sonic was greeted by the sight of Lobonia's Headquarters for their Freedom Fighter branch.

"Welcome back to Freedom HQ, Knothole Freedom Fighters," To'kala announced.

The entire space was modeled similarly to the Knothole Freedom Fighter's base, decked out with stations based on particular members' expertise, whether they were great at gathering intel and data (computer stations), engineering technology and weaponry (lab stations), or other areas of the occupation. The wolves either walked separately or in groups made up of two to five people at a time. Some were already at their workstations.

There was even a roundtable where conferences and meetings were held.

Of course, the difference between Acornia's base compared to Lobonia was the interior. Wood and marble were the main materials used in New Mobotropolis' HQ. Lobonia, meanwhile, constructed the walls and foundation of the base out of limestone and obsidian, making the place look like it was carved out of a cave with a network of tunnels.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were utterly mesmerized by the whole place, looking around the new area they were in.

"Okay, this place is much bigger than it looks like on the outside," Sonic admitted.

"Yeah, no kidding." Tails and Knuckles agreed.

The wolf guide then brought Team Sonic and the Freedom Fighters to the lobby for them to settle down and wait.

Turning to Sally, To'kala said, "Please wait right here. I'm going to inform the chief of your arrival."

"Alright, then. Thank you for your service, Reynard. We appreciate it." Sally said gratefully.

To'kala nodded as he responded, saying, "It was my honor, Princess. Please, enjoy your stay."

With that, To'kala jogged elsewhere to find his leader. With the group sitting down on chairs, the group decided to pass the time by swapping stories. During this time, Sally took the time to gradually gain information about Sonic. Hopefully, to acquire more intel about his golden transformation and Chaos Energy itself.

"Tell may sumpn, Sugar-hog. Whut wuz it like bein' up in space? Ah always wonder what's it back up there with the stars." Bunnie questioned, continuing the conversation.

Sonic raised an eyebrow as he said, "Huh? It's alright, I guess. But it loses its charm after the first time."

"Wait, what do you mean after the first timé?" The swordsman of the Freedom Fighters inquired, mildly shocked. "Aré you téll us zat you have been een space moré than once?"

"Yup," Team Sonic all said at the time.

"Hold up, all of you have gone to space?" Sally asked, seeking clarification.

"Oh, you didn't know?" Tails questioned. "I thought I told you this before. I was up at the Space Colony ARK when I had a firefight with Eggman."

Knuckles added, "I was trying to stop the Chaos Emeralds from activating the ARK's Eclipse Cannon from destroying the planet around that time."

"The whole space station situation was one of my more notable adventures that just so happen to be recognized worldwide." Sonic shrugged casually. "If you wanna get technical, my first time up in space was when I first met Tails."

"Right, you said that he took you on the Tornado 2 to confront Dr. Robotnik." The princess of Acornia recalled.

"Yeah. Well, Tails gave me a ride to hitch on the back of Eggman's rocket. That rocket led me to his giant space fortress called the Death Egg."

Antoine and Sally looked at the hedgehog funny, repeating the words, "Ze/The Death Egg?"

Bunnie snorted, trying her best to avoid laughing at the bases' ridiculous name.

Sonic noticed this and grinned, saying, "I know, it's a stupid name. It looks even more stupid given he stuck his ugly face on the front of the thing. But don't let the name fool ya, it was a bigger death trap than Scrap Brain ever was. Heck, the moment I got inside there, Eggman started sendin' robot versions of me to do his biddin'. What he overlooked, though, was that those bots were half-baked copies that didn't hold a candle to Metal. Nonetheless, I trashed them with ease."

"And what happened next?" Sally asked.

"I chased that Egghead down. But, that was a part of his plan. See, he had fled to an open area in his base where it was a space small enough for me to be enclosed in. That's where he busted out the big guns, a big fat mecha with his face plastered on it and equip with extend-o claws. So, I had to fight the Death Egg Robot alone."

"Oh, and how did you beat him?" The Mobian chipmunk asked, pressing further.

Sonic then explained, "During that time, the doctor was powering the Death Egg Robot using the Chaos Emeralds. After a few hits, I managed to sever a wire apart from the bot that had their Chaos Energy leaking out. And you know how that song and dance goes…"

"So, I take it that the golden form of yours is linked to the Gems of Miracles?" Sally inquired, taking a shot to confirm her suspicions.

"You mean Super Sonic?" Tails responded, gaining inquisitive looks from the Knothole Freedom Fighters in the process. "Yeah, it's a result of him utilizing the Chaos Emeralds with pure and virtuous emotions like compassion."

Sally turned to Sonic with a look of amusement on her face.

"...Super Sonic, huh?" Sally smirked, placing her hands on her hips.

"Hey, don't get me that look. I didn't name the form." Sonic corrected as he pointed a thumb at Tails, half annoyed. "Blame this guy and his corny puns."

"Sorry, not sorry." Tails cheekily chirped, sticking his tongue out in the process.

The whole group shared a laugh, outside of Knuckles, who was busy trying to track the Master Emerald shard within the structure.

'...The third shard is somewhere in this area further down. And it's very close.' Knuckles sensed mentally. 'Once I retrieve it, that'll be three down and five more to go.'

Soon enough, Team Sonic and the Freedom Fighters were greeted by a collected mature, yet youthfully feminine voice as a person approached them.

"I see that you have received my message,"

The Knothole Freedom Fighters set their sights on a familiar face. Sally's expression brightened, for who stood her and her team was none other than the chief of the Waya tribe and leader of the Wolf Pack Freedom Fighters.

There stood Lupe herself.

Balcony, Egg Carrier, Several Miles Away From Lobonia

Dr. J. Ivo Robotnik stood on the balcony of his massive airship, soaking up the sun's rays on his skin while allowing the wind to flow around him and his glorious mustache.

To the doctor, today in itself felt like a victory. Somehow, he anticipated the success he expected from his mercenaries. He knew to be so. All he had to do was play his cards right and see the results of his gamble. And if there are minor setbacks, he'll just have to resort to other means to collect the Chaos Emeralds.

Eggman took a deep breath, saying, "Today, things will go my way for a change."

"Oh, and how can you be so sure?" A raspy and deep voice spoke from behind the mad scientist.

The doctor turned around to see the dreadful troll, Naugus the Dark, staring at him with his beady crimson eyes with green pupils.

Grinning to himself, Dr. Robotnik answered, "Call it confidence in a genius' intuition."

"There is a fine line between confidence and hubris, fair doctor. Your history serves as a testament to that." Naugus sagely stated. "Are you certain that what you have planned will go exactly as you see fit?"

"You have a point, considering my past failures. However, I have done the appropriate research about the hired assistance and I am unquestionably void of doubt. Quirks aside, they'll get the job done."

'...In many regards, they remind me of the crocodile, chameleon, and that irritating bee.' Dr. Robotnik compared mentally.

Naugus gazed at the doctor for a few seconds before nodding.

"As you wish," The troll accepted, not trying to push further into the matter.

"What brings you to my end of the Egg Carrier, Naugus?" The doctor questioned, fiddling with his mustache.

"I was tending to my affairs when I passed by the room where Metallix was being held," Naugus said, getting Eggman's attention.

"Hm? What about Metal?" Eggman inquired, taking the conversation completely seriously.

"Your creation has seemed to have become quite the restless sentient automaton, eager to test her newly found Ixis Magick."

Raising an eyebrow, Robotnik retorted, "Metal has already gone through and cleared every trial that I currently have. All thirty stages—"

"—Julian," Naugus said, speaking to Robotnik in a low, yet firm tone while appealing to the doctor's ego strategically. "I will not deny your talent as a scientist. You're above exceptional in your field. Probably the greatest mind in your generation. However, you underestimate the power that your creation has obtained. Compared to your technology, it is far superior to what you could have ever done with him."

Robotnik took great offense to this as he furrowed his eyebrows and glared at the troll

"What!?" Eggman bellowed, getting into the defense of his machine. "You dare call my creation flawed!? I'll have you know that Metal's sophisticated design is state-of-the-art! His AI is ever evolving, unlike any other Badnik I have ever created!"

"And yet he has failed to achieve his primary directive. Eliminating the quickster." The Ixis Warlock pointed out, prompting shutting the doctor up.

"Doctor, the source of Ixis Magick predates the birth of this world. No living creature with a deadline can hope to fathom its history, let alone quantify its mysterious eldritch ways. You can spend a lifetime honing the fullest potential of your craft, and that technology wouldn't be able to come close to competing with the raw power that the primordial dark arts of Ixis Magick possess. Therefore, your trials wouldn't be able to truly administer a proper challenge to Metallix effectively."

Bitterly, Eggman took the sorcerer's criticism.

"...Fine. What do you advise we should do about Metal's situation, then?" Robotnik inquired.

"It's quite simple." Naugus the Dark said in a cackle. "Now, we don't want him to quench his thirst for the quickster's blood early. So, we'd have to settle for a challenge that is the next best thing."

"Next best thing—" Eggman pondered before the idea hit him.

"Ah, it's coming to me now. Hehehe!" Eggman said, cackling himself.

Pressing a button on his jacket, Eggman instructed, "SNIVELY, send in a wave of Egg Pawns and Badnik units to Downtown Westopolis on the double! Now!"

"Yes sir…" The AI spine through the radio button.

Naugus asked the scientist, "Why did you choose Westopolis, Doctor?"

Eggman turned away from the balcony to admire the view in front of him as he reasoned with the evil sorcerer.

"The opponent that I have in mind for Metal's next assessment is not one who deals with situations of the average kind. And knowing GUN, they wouldn't let such a special operative be deployed so carelessly. We have to disrupt the status quo on a chaotic level. Even if it means that the masses are caught in the crossfire. Only then, will the desired target appear to us?"

Freedom HQ, Lycaeon, Lobonia

"I see that you have received my message," The gray Mobian she-wolf stated calmly, pleased to see all of the people that she was able to reach out to.

"Lupe!" Sally exclaimed, happy to see an old friend amongst the other Freedom Fighters.

"Princess Sally," Lupe approached as she greeted the teenage chipmunk with a hug. "It's good to see you once again. Welcome back."

"I'm glad to be back." Sally said reciprocating the hug before breaking it off. "How long has it been?"

"Two and a half years," Answered Lupe as she looked towards Bunnie and Antoine. "Antoine, Bunnie, greetings to you both. How have the two been?"

"Ahm blessed, Sugar." Bunnie waved.

"Oui," Antoine nodded, acknowledging the Waya chief. "Now zat our beloved king has réturnéd to us, ze kingdomh'as been at peace long enough to be rebuilt. But as long as zé énemy still persists, zee Freedom Fighters will bé needéd."

"Yes, indeed..." Lupe agreed as she turned to Team Sonic, then back to Sally. "They new additions towards our shared cause?"

Sally eagerly nodded.

"Yes! They are our newest members who joined a few weeks ago. But don't take them likely, each one of them is capable extremely fighters with plenty of experience from their own endeavors."

As Lupe glanced back at Team Sonic, the hedgehog himself gave the wolf a thumbs-up with his right hand, confidently saying, "Take her word for it. Together, we can overcome all the odds!"

Lupe was impressed by Sonic's declaration and the confidence he not only had in himself but in his teammates. She then took notice of Sonic's blue fur.

"Your faith is quite admirable…" Lupe complimented Sonic but stopped as she did not know his name. "Um…"

"Heh heh!" Sonic chuckled as he pointed his right thumb at himself. "I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!"

He then gestured his head towards his best friend as Sonic introduced him.

"And this is my best pal, Tails!"

The two-tailed fox waved at Lupe, which the she-wolf did so out of respect and kindness.

Setting her sights back to Sonic, she noticed gazed into the adventurer's eyes and found familiarity in them.

"...You're an Azurite. And a full-blooded royal Azurite, at that!" Lupe gasped.

With her mind running wild with questions, the chief of the Waya tribe turned her attention to Sally for answers.

"How is this possible? I thought the last of them were wiped out." Lupe asked.

"Lupe," Sally informed in a softer tone as she walked up to Lupe and spoke loud enough for only the two of them to hear. "That's Queen Aleena's son. That's Ollie."

"No," Lupe gasped again, not believing what she was hearing. "He's Aleena boy?"

"Yes, Lupe. It's really him." The princess of Acornia reinforced. "But the horrors of the coup have forced him to block almost all of his earlier memories. He has next to no recollection of his past."

"Does that include his mother?"

Sally nodded sadly, prompting Lupe to frown solemnly.

"...I see." Lupe nodded with her ears hanging low for a moment. "That is a shame."

Getting anxious about his need to complete his task, Knuckles approached the she-wolf.

"Ma'am, I mean no disrespect to you, nor do I mean to interrupt your conversation. But I believe that you may have come across a possession that belongs to me. It must be returned." The red echidna expression dutifully.

Lupe glanced at Knuckles for a moment, looking at the echidna's fur, height, and massive hands with spikes on his knuckles.

As she heard the guardian speak, Lupe deduced, "You're the strange echidna that To'kala mentioned to me earlier."

Sally spoke to Lupe, adding, "Lupe, this is Knuckles. He is not an echidna from Aurora, but the last member of a lost ancient tribe that guarded a powerful artifact. It's very important that we see what you have found."

Nodding, Lupe had instructed the Knothole Freedom Fighters and Team Sonic to follow her as she led them through a hallway. Several doors down, the group eventually found themselves in a vault where many treasured findings such as scrolls, sculptures, tablets of ancient carvings, and other relics were displayed in cases with lights inside for others to see.

'Look at all of this stuff,' Tails thought to himself with wonder as he peered into a clay sculpture of a Mobian wolf chief. 'These relics must be ancient. At least a few thousand years old.'

"As I stated before, those machines that came to our lands upon the discovery of a couple of our field operatives found two days prior. Our shamans said that they hold great power. Much more than any Power Ring, artificial or natural." The wolf explained.

Lupe walked over to a large safe. Entering a combination only known to her, she opened the door to the safe.

After reaching inside of the safe to grab an object, she got out of it.

The Knothole Freedom Fighters and Team Sonic found themselves staring at the she-wolf as she held the Master Emerald.

"Is this what you're looking for?" Asked Lupe, gazing into Knuckles' eyes.

"Another Master Emerald shard!" Knuckles exclaimed as he nodded. "Yes, this is exactly what I'm for!"

"Okay," Lupe accepted.

With that being understood, Lupe handed over the Master Emerald shard to Knuckles, to which the echidna gave the chief his thanks.

From the moment Knuckles touched the shard, a vision of Sonic kneeling down, holding the ground as if he had watched everything he knew and loved to disappear. This vision then showed Knuckles' friend screaming in anguish, which led to an ominous dark figure standing in the place of Sonic. It reminded Knuckles of Super Sonic, except the fur was black and the skin was a dark gray. Its navy blue power radiated before the being lunged at Knuckles at full speed, taking him out of his trance-like state.

Knuckles gasped for a second, catching his breath for a moment.

Noticing this, Tails asked, "Hey, Knuckles! Are you alright?"

This caused everybody else to look over in the startled echidna's direction, concerned about his well-being.

"W-What are you on about? I am fine!" Knuckles grunted, feeling his cheeks burning red out of embarrassment.

Sonic quipped, "Are you sure about that, Knux? You looked like you've seen a ghost over at Pumpkin Hill again."

"SHUT UP!" The echidna bellowed, which was followed by a series of chuckles from everybody else.

While recovering from his mild freak-out, Knuckles pondered, 'What in the world was that all about? I've never seen Sonic turned into…whatever the hell that was! This has to be some kind of warning from the Master Emerald. Whatever the case, if the Master Emerald can tell something's off about that hedgehog lately, then I know there's something going on. I better talk to Tails about this later. Hmm, maybe the princess can help me out as well.'

"So, we got us another shard. That's a win." Sonic stated after calming down from laughter. "Where could that Chaos Emerald be?"

The Waya chief then asked, "What does this Chaos Emerald look like, exactly?"

Before anybody could say anything, Sally brought out the shimmering cyan-colored Chaos Emerald that Sonic gave to her.

"It looks like this, but it could be blue, red, purple, yellow, green, or gray. Not including the one I have here." Sally described, showing the Chaos Emerald.

Inspecting the gemstone, Lupe recognized the flickering and radiating power.

"Ah, yes." Lupe shook her head positively while walking to a small display case covered with a cloth sitting on a small console at another end of the room.

The she-wolf had removed the cloth, revealing a yellow Chaos Emerald.

Everybody rejoiced at this, with Antoine cheering, "Finally, zere iz ze second one!"

"If you don't mind me asking all of you, what makes these strange artifacts so important to you?" Lupe asked as she handed the yellow Chaos Emerald to Tails.

"It's simple, Miss Lupe," Tails said. "The Chaos Emeralds have the power to warp time and space. With all seven together, it's a nearly limitless supply of energy that can either be used to benefit the world, or destroy it."

"Mhm," Bunnie nodded with her hands on her hips. "Thayure's uh nasty lookin' Overlander thet knows bout these hare Miracle Gems. Hay wants tuh collect them all tuh conquer thuh whole wide world."

Sonic pointed out, "And get this, Lupe. That guy that we're talkin' about is the same one who left those pieces of scraps with his face on it on your doorstep."

"He sounds irritatingly troublesome," Lupe grumbled.

"That's what Dr. Eggman is. Nothin' but trouble." Sonic nodded. "Ain't nobody knows that more so than me."

"It only gets worse, ai am afraid. Zat madman has joined forces with our worst mutual enemy." Antoine frowned with no amusement in the coyote's tone.

"You can't be serious! He's working with that troll!?" Lupe shouted out loud.

"It's true, Lupe. And with the doctor to help him, those two aim to end the world using the raw power of these gemstones." Sally informed in melancholy, only to change into a hopeful expression. "But there is still a chance for us to win. Thanks to Sonic and his friends, we can thwart Robotnik and Naugus before they try anything."

"How can that be? You said that those Miracle Gems contain near limitless power." The wolf inquired.

"With this." Knocked said, holding a piece of the Master Emerald.

Lupe slowly shook her head in a puzzled manner.

"...I do not understand."

Knuckles explained, "The Master Emerald keeps the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds in check. If the night-infinite Chaos Emeralds' energy can be bent to its will, then the Master Emerald itself is considered infinite."

"...So then you can stop the Chaos Emerald from being used entirely!" Lupe caught on.

"Bingo!" Sonic answered the she-wolf.

"So, what happens after the Emeralds are collected?" Lupe asked, eager to hear the rest of the plan.

"We confront the doctor and Naugus head-on and finish this. Sonic will use the power of the Miracle Gems to our advantage and his friends will back up our teammates until we depower and capture the wizard. Hopefully, we can make him and that scientist answer to every crime they've done to the world."

Lupe nodded, saying, "That's a daring plan. But it sounds promising. When there are no more Gems to hunt for, let me know. I will contact other Freedom Fighter branches and inform them of the plan. If we have a shot at bringing down Naugus for good, then we have to make sure that nobody misses out on this opportunity. It may be our last one."

Everybody else nodded, only for the whole conversation to be interrupted by a shockwave nearby which caused the place to shake a bit. This caused everybody to yelp a bit out of bewilderment.

The disorientation only lasted for a few seconds.

"What the heck was that!?" Sonic rightfully screamed.

"Whatever it is, it's not good," Sally stated in a firm lower tone.

There was a chain of smaller explosions that came after the alarm blaring throughout the structure.

A concerned Tails turned to Lupe, asking her, "Miss Lupe, what's going on!?"

"HQ is currently under attack!" Lupe growled as she went to a nearby wall where a well-crafted spear with its spearhead made of silver lay. She grabbed it and the next shield to arm herself.

Taking out her handheld, Sally said, "NICOLE, access Lobonia's Freedom HQ cameras. Sweep for the intrud–"

BOOM!

The wall adjacent to the group had been blown to pieces. When the debris settled, Sally, the Freedom Fighters, and Lupe all were appalled to see the Destructix standing before them.

Drago Wulfe stood as the front man of the team, sneering at his former leader as he greeted Lupe.

"Hello, sister. I've finally come home."

To Be Continued…

Author's Notes: It's been a long time since I've updated this project. But it's back!

To start things off, I'd like to remind the readers here that this is an alternate reality and universe. So, events may play out differently than normal. Characters may or may not have been changed. Lore may or may have not been tweaked to serve the purpose of the narrative. If you have an issue or several about these minor and or significant changes, then you have every right to stop reading and find something else to enjoy. But don't waste a review over something that is petty, just go on about your business.

That doesn't mean that I can't take constructive criticism. I'm down for that kind of stuff, you know? It keeps me on my toes.

Also, I'd like to give a shout-out to my boy, UltimateDemonBeast65, for coming through and helping me bring this story back to continue the next part. Without him, RESURGENCE wouldn't have been a thing. So, show him some love and support by looking at his work too.

As for the lore, there is a few things that I like to address.

Characters who have surnames that are their species of animal in them either come from poor backgrounds, are orphans with no family ties, or have severed their family names and claimed basic names willingly.

Speak of the devil, Drago Wulfe is RESURGENCE's counterpart to Wolf Drago from Archie Comics' old run of Sonic the Hedgehog. In this continuity, Drago is the older brother to Waya chief and ambassador of the Unified Wolf Pack Nation, Lupe

Lupe of the Waya is the RESURGENCE counterpart to Lupe Wolf from the Sonic SatAM continuity, which I borrowed heavily from that version of her character. She is Drago Wulfe's younger sister. And at some point, Aleena met Lupe when she was alive. Lupe had to have been extremely young back then.

The Destructix are mostly the same as the Archie Comics, but Fiona has never met Sonic or anybody that is closely tied to the games. The differences between her backstory and powers will be explored in later chapters. Eggman never experimented on her, but she has gone through cyberization along with Lightning Lynx. She also has a deep seeded hatred for the Freedom Fighters. Sally, in particular. Remember, Scourge exists in the Sol Zone.

Speaking of which, I don't see how I can fit Silver into RESURGENCE without bloating the cast. I have to alternate between Amy and other Freedom Fighters to keep the focus on necessary characters for the sake of the plot. As it stands, Silver and Blaze are not coming. Perhaps, UltimateDemonBeast65 and I might go for that RESURGENCE spin-off that takes place before Sonic Rush. Maybe… But that's no promise. Dragon Ball Z: PRIMAL was taking up enough of my free time as it did. I'm taking a break from that to work on this story now.

Omega will be making his first appearance in the RESURGENCE in the next chapter along with the return of the menace himself. Metallix.

So, be on the lookout for that.

One last thing, Lobonia is based on indigenous lands from North America and Mesoamerican. Lycaeon is inspired by the ancient city of Tenochtitlan.

Let me know if you guys have any questions, comments, ideas, concerns, or constructive criticism by reviewing the chapter. Do I still have the touch?

See you guys later!
