Now, let's resume our tale!

The Cothica and Slithering Scales Part 2

Gavin sighed as he rode the moving walkway towards the Crellan drome, scanner in hand. "I wonder who accepted my challenge" He asked aloud again, before he entered the Drome. When he stepped inside and saw his opponent, his eyes widened with surprise.

"Sarah?!" He said with surprise, while Sarah smirked.

"I see you weren't expecting me to accept your challenge," She replied. "Well no way am I going to pass this up! When I win, you're going to take me to see the princess and queen."

Gavin then sighed, and nodded. "Alright, and if I win, you have to stop bothering me about the Danians," He replied, prompting her to nod in agreement.

"KamiFollower, ChaotiKween, Dock your scanners," The announcer said, prompting them to do so, before they started to select their cards.

'Okay, first things first, I'm picking Veshka,' He thought as he grabbed her card and put it on the field. 'As for locations, I'll include Grassy Plains, the Forest of Life, and some other locations with lots of hiding places for her,' He continued as he selected the Location cards. 'With battlegear, I'll stay simple, with the Ring of Na'arin. And as for Mugic, let's see,' He thought with a hum as he looked at the somewhat small selection of Mugic he had. 'Eh, I'll pick these two,' he continued as he grabbed two Mugic cards and set them to the side, before locking his deck and looking at Sarah, who was already done.

"BWOOP!"

"Battleboard locked. Field of play, revealed."

When the other half of the boards were revealed to them, he heard Sarah let out a surprised gasp, making him smirk.

The creature Sarah had chosen was a Danian male named Junga. The image on the card was of a four-legged Danian that had a blood red exoskeleton, with three large, sharp toes on each foot and three white-clawed fingers on each hand. Gold markings with two sharp points on them sat on his knees. His shoulders were quite broad and had red spikes on them as well, while white spikes stuck out backwards from his forearms. His head was shaped somewhat like a lizard's, with a narrow snout and a short frill on the back of it. A pair of white mandibles sat around his mouth, while his eyes glowed a light green, as did the pair of antennae running along the frill. He was posed so that he was looking down at the viewer from above them, and was marked as a Common card. The symbol for the Danian Tribe sat to the left of his name, with said symbol consisting of a grayish-red claw that was broken at the base sticking into a sideways crescent in a circle.

"How interesting," he muttered as he looked at the board. 'Why did she pick a Danian Squadleader? They're generally better used with a group.'

"KamiFollower, since you were the one to issue the challenge, ChaotiKween gets to attack first. ChaotiKween, spin the Location wheel."

'Okay, that makes sense,' He thought as he saw her Location wheel spin around and around and around, before it came to a stop.

"Forest of Life."

"Huh, that works," He said, while Sarah frowned a bit, having wanted a Danian location instead. The card shown had an image of a large forest, with multiple pairs of glowing eyes looking towards the viewer from inside hollow logs, flowers, and trees.

"ChaotiKween, choose your attacking creature and its target."

"Junga attacks Veshka," Sarah stated.

"BWOOOOP!"

As the sound went off, Gavin and Sarah touched their cards, and were quickly turned into them.

"Thisssss ssshhhall be interessssting," Gavin hissed as he flexed his (Veshka's) arms.

"Indeed," Junda replied in a high-pitched voice, before grinning. "Prepare to be defeated as I show you the might of the Danians!"

"ChaotiKween as Junda and KamiFollower as Veshka. Let the battle begin!" The announcer said, before there was a bright flash.

Junda walked carefully through the Forest of Life, using her multiple limbs to climb over the trees with ease, while he held a Plasma Pounder, which was a Super Rare battlegear. His Plasma Pounder was mustard yellow, with a ring of red right next to the trigger. It was shaped like a long barreled gun similar to a revolver, minus the cylinder.

"Hmmm, now where is he?" Junda said as he looked around, eyes narrowed in concentration as he aimed the Plasma Pounder forward.

"SSSHadow SSStrike!"

"Gah!" Junda shouted with surprise as wisps and tendrils of shadow hit him from behind, knocking him off the rock he had been standing on. "Ha, that didn't hurt me one bit!" he said as he got up and aimed his Plasma Pounder at the trees, before firing a couple shots into it. "You aren't courageous enough!"

The forest was silent once more.

"Well then, If you won't come to me, then I'll just tear up the whole forest!" Junda said, before the 5 foot 2 inch tall Danian called out "Fortissimo!" using the one Mugic he had.

As the notes of the mugic started to play, and Junda started to grow bigger, he started firing his Plasma pounder at the trees, it growing in size with him. The bolts of green slime began to tear up trees and the ground as he fired it all around him, and he continued to do so until the mugic wore off, and he returned to his normal size.

Now, he was standing amidst multiple fallen trees, their trunks shattered by the powered-up Plasma Pounder

"Now there's nowhere to hide," Junda said, before he started to move.

Then, the ground suddenly broke open before him, with Veshka shooting up with a grin on her face.

"Not ssssooo fassssst!" She cried before she bit down on his neck, her sharp fangs piercing his exoskeleton, while she grabbed his Plasma Pounder. 'Venoshock!' She thought as she injected some of her venom. Then, she quickly dived back down into the hole with the Plasma Pounder, leaving Junda alone.

"Hey!" Junda shouted with rage, before he started feeling ill. "Ugh, I don't feel so good," he continued, his vision getting distorted a bit, while also feeling a bit weaker. 'Her venom sure works fast,' Sarah thought to herself, feeling a headache start to come on. 'Really fast.'

Junda started to take another step forward, but stumbled, and nearly fell over, using his hands to keep himself off the ground.

"Well, well, look at what we have here," Veshka replied as she slithered over an uprooted tree, the Ring of Na'arin gleaming on her right hand. "A sick Danian."

"Heh, think again," Junda said before yelling out "Electro Web," aiming a hand at Veshka. Electrified webbing then shot out of his hand and onto Veshka, who let out a shriek of pain as she fell back, the electricity doing some damage to her.

Veshka shrieked with pain for several more seconds before she yelled out "Slashclaw!," making her nails glimmer a bit as she shredded the webbing off her body. She then leaped forward and slashed her claws on Junda twice, making him gasp with pain.

"Well then, I better finish you off before you hurt me more!" Veshka said, before she wrapped her tail around Junda, who was starting to feel a little bit better, and started dragging him away.

"Gotta…get…free," Junda said as he struggled, trying to get one of his limbs free so he could Electro-Web her again.

But before he could do that, Veshka arrived at the edge of a tall cliff, and lifted him over it. "Goodbye, Junda," Veshka said as she unwrapped her tail from around him, causing him to drop down towards the sharp rocks below. "You were a decent opponent, but sadly outmatched by me."

"Gah! I gotta do something!" Junda said as he fell, before he shouted out "Electro-Web" and shot the webbing at the nearby cliff face, trying to stop his fall.

Unfortunately, all that resulted in was him pulling off some rock, making his eyes widen as he screamed out "NOOOO!" before he burst into code upon hitting the rocks. Then, their surroundings changed, and they were once again standing before their scanners, with Gavin turning back into himself.

"No no no no no!" Sarah exclaimed, upset she had lost.

"Junda has been defeated. KamiFollower wins."

"Nice," He said with a smile. "I can't wait to tell Veshka," he continued. "Thanks for fighting with me, and remember our deal," He said, growing a firm look before he left, with her stomping out, clearly upset.

When he stepped outside, he saw that Tom, Peyton, and Kaz were waiting for him.

"Hey guys," He said with a smile. "What'd you think?"

"Can I get a scan of her?" Tom asked, making him sigh.

"Maybe," he replied. "I gotta talk with her about that."

"Oh, alright," Tom said.

"Dude, Sarah had no chance against you one-on-one," Peyton said. "I told her she shouldn't accept it man, but she didn't listen."

"You know, Veshka reminds me a bit of Pyrithia," Kaz replied.

"…You know, you're right Kaz," Gavin said after thinking it over for a few seconds. "They do look pretty similar. I 'll have to show her Pyrithia and see what she says." Then, he noticed Sarah heading their way, and he started to move. "Well, I'd better go guys," he said to them. "See you later." He then left, heading towards the PortCourt.

As soon as he arrived back in the Grassy Plains, he started walking in a random direction while calling out for Veshka.

He'd only been walking a couple minutes when he was grabbed from behind by two familiar black scaly arms, while two large orbs pressed into his back. "Hey Veshka," he said with a smile as the naga hugged him for several seconds, before setting him down. "Good to see you again."

"It'ssssss good to ssssssee you too, Gavin," Veshka replied. "Now tell me, why have you returned sssssso ssssssoon?"

"Well, I just battled with you, and I wanted you to know how it went," he replied, making her smile widely.

"Really?" She asked him, prompting him to nod. "Well, who'd you fight?"

"A Danian squadleader," he replied, making her arch a non-existent eyebrow. "Yeah, it was a weird choice for my opponent to make. But I had a lot of fun beating them."

"So you won with me?" She asked. When he nodded, she grinned. "Excellent! How'd you do it? Can you sssshhow me?"

"I don't think so," He said, before remembering that CodeMaster Moduom had mentioned something about the media storage on his scanner. "But let me check." He then tapped on his scanner, before he opened up the media section.

As he looked at it, he spotted an application labeled "Battle Library," and tapped on it, opening it for the first time. And there, sitting ready to play, was his battle. "Well, it looks like I can show you," He said, before he turned the scanner so that she could see it. "Watch," He continued as he pressed the play button, before becoming silent, a smile on his face as he watched her.

As the battle went on, Veshka's face went from one of curiosity, to one of surprise, and then to one of delight as she watched him fight and defeat the Danian as her. Once the video had ended, he closed his scanner, and spoke. "So, what'd you think?" he asked her.

"Oh, it was wonderful!" Veshka replied happily as she picked him up and twirled about with him, a large smile on her face. "You did a great job fighting as me!"

"Good to hear!" he said as she twirled around a bit more, before stopping and hugging him close again. 'Okay, she's very touchy and huggy,' He thought. 'If the others want to get scans of her, I 'll have to warn them about this.' "Um, by the way, other Chaotic players saw me and the other player fight," he continued. "And, well, a couple want to get scans of you. I told them I'd have to talk to you, of course," he said to her.

"Do they want to be friendssssssss?" She asked him.

"Eh, maybe one or two," he replied honestly. "The others though, probably not."

"Hmmm, then only the two that want to be friendssss can ssssscan me," She replied.

"Okay, that works," Gavin said with a smile, before his stomach then growled with hunger, making him blush a bit. "Sorry, I'm a bit hungry, must have forgotten about lunch."

"Hmm," Veshka hummed upon hearing that. "Then how about you eat with me?"

"Um, sure," he replied with a shrug. "I'm always open to trying new things."

His response pleased Veshka, as she hissed happily, before she held him close and slithered off quickly to an unknown location.

"Where are we going?" He asked her as they went.

"To my home," Veshka replied, making his eyes widen a bit.

"Oh," he said, shocked she was taking him to her home already, even though he'd literally only met her earlier that day.

After several minutes had passed, she grabbed some grass, and moved it to the side, revealing a large wooden door in the ground. Said door was dark brown in color and had a round window in the middle of it. She then grabbed the knob, which was shaped like a stone, and turned it, before opening it, revealing a smooth tunnel going down, lit up by glowing mushrooms.

"Welcome to my home," She said as she slithered inside, using her tail to grab the door and shut it.

"Wow, I must say, this is impressive," He said as he looked at the tunnel, which soon opened up into a large room that had more mushrooms giving off light. A stone table sat low to the ground near a small fire pit, which had a large stone chimney built around it and sticking up into the ceiling. Several small baskets and wooden boxes sat nearby, while some fruit hung by woven grass from the ceiling. On the far right of the room was a small doorway that had some black fabric hanging in it.

And sitting close by was a small freshwater spring.

"Did you make all this?" he asked as she set him down and slithered over to one of the baskets by the fire pit.

"No, I jusssssssst adjusssssted it to fit me," Veshka replied as she looked at the different baskets, before grabbing one and setting it on the table. "Now, come here! I got lunch!"

"Alright," He said as he walked over to the table and sat down on a grass mat.

"It'sssssss fissssssshhh!" Veshka replied as she opened the basket, grabbed a leaf, and then set a hand-sized cooked pink fish with four eyes on it, before handing it over to him.

"Huh, it looks…interesting," he said honestly. "How exactly are you supposed to eat it?"

"You eat all of it," Veshka replied.

"All of it?' he asked, prompting her to nod. "Well, then, lets dig in." He then took a big bite of the fish righ tin the middle, making a loud "CRUNCH!" as he bit through tiny bones.

"Huh, you know, besides it being a little chewy," he said as he chewed and hewed on the fish, before swallowing it. "It's not bad. Not bad at all."

"Good," Veshka replied as she swallowed three of them whole, before handing him another one once he finished his first one.

Once he finished the second one, he held a hand up to stop her as she offered him a third fish. "Thanks, but I'm full," He said as he used a tiny toothpick she had carved out of wood for him to use to clean between his teeth. "Thanks for giving me lunch Veshka."

"You're welcome," She hissed with a smile as she ate two more fish, before setting the basket to the side. Then, she yawned. "Ssssssorry," She apologized. "I'm a little tired today. Had to fight someone for fissh."

"Oh, that sucks," he said as he got up and grabbed his scanner. "Well then, I 'll see you later then. Have a good name Veshka."

"Thankssssss," Veshka said with a smile a wave, a bit sad her friend had to go. "Goodbye."

"Goodbye Veshka," Gavin replied before he ported out of her home and back to Chaotic, while Veshka slithered over to the doorway nearby and went through it to go sleep.

As she curled up on her bed and closed her eyes, she thought of Gavin, and smiled. "Friendssssss," She hissed as she fell asleep, happy to have a made a friend, especially with someone so kind.

Well, this was an interesting chapter!

Can't wait to write more!

It's a shorter chapter cause I felt it ended at a good point.

Let me know who you want him to meet next? Maxxor and Chaor are not options.
